How Can Two Scummy Alphas Fall in Love - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Having not seen Qin Qiao for several days, Han Fufu felt a degree of longing.
Han Fufu arrived over ten minutes earlier than the agreed time.
By the time Qin Qiao had changed and entered the stable, Han Fufu had already completed a lap on her horse.
“Sorry, there was traffic on the road.” Qin Qiao walked up to Han Fufu’s horse and volunteered as a coach. “I’ll be your coach today, consider it compensation.”
“You were only two minutes late.”
“Tardiness is unacceptable.” Qin Qiao was always the most stringent when it came to time management.
Han Fufu crossed her arms, stood in front of the pre-selected horse, and waved at the coach in the distance. “I won’t be needing you today.”
After dismissing the coach, Han Fufu raised an eyebrow and asked Qin Qiao, “As for horse riding… are you up to it?”
“Whether I’m up to it or not, you’ll find out when you try.” Qin Qiao’s cool eyes glinted. She raised her arm, embraced Han Fufu, and with skillful technique, hoisted both of them onto the horse’s back.
The movement was clean and swift. Before Han Fufu could even react, the two were sharing one horse.
“I never noticed before, but your arm strength is quite good,” Han Fufu complimented.
Qin Qiao held the reins, guiding the horse to a slow walk. “You’re too thin. I notice you’ve lost even more weight recently.”
“I can’t help it. It’s for the filming. The director says I need to lose another five pounds for that ‘lean’ look,” Han Fufu sighed. “I really want to eat normally, but it’s necessary if I want to win the gold award.”
Qin Qiao suddenly hugged Han Fufu tightly, raised the riding whip high, and shouted, “Giddy up!”
The horse bolted into a run, and the bumpy sensation on the horseback was intense.
Han Fufu’s palms were sweating with nervousness. She gripped the saddle tightly, closing her eyes and daring not to look ahead.
“Fufu, open your eyes.” Qin Qiao’s voice became gentle in the wind. “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
Qin Qiao and Han Fufu had learned horseback riding together. When Han Fufu fell off the horse that day, Qin Qiao witnessed it and was also scared as a child.
However, the best way to conquer fear is to confront it.
Han Fufu could feel the person behind her pressed close, their warm, sturdy body giving her a sense of security.
As the horse galloped forward, Han Fufu’s eyelids trembled. She slowly opened her eyes.
The stable was vast, built along the river. The landscaping was excellent, and the scenery all around was beautiful.
The horse was running along the river. The sun shone directly on the water’s surface.
The moment Han Fufu opened her eyes, she saw the dazzling river. The shimmering water, accelerated by their speed, stretched out like silk toward the distant forest.
“It’s beautiful,” Han Fufu couldn’t help but exclaim.
Qin Qiao looked at the river. “It is beautiful.”
“Once I got used to it, I don’t feel the bumping anymore,” Han Fufu’s body gradually relaxed.
Qin Qiao pointed with the whip toward the distance. “We can’t go into the forest over there; it’s a bit dangerous. Next time we get a chance, we’ll go riding on the great plains.”
“Deal, Coach Qin,” Han Fufu replied.
The mention of the title reminded Qin Qiao that she was supposed to be the coach, so she quickly adopted the demeanor of an instructor.
“Student, try to feel how to control the horse with just one hand on the reins.”
Han Fufu was holding onto the saddle’s handle with both hands for dear life, afraid of falling off. Asking her to let go of one hand now was something she genuinely dared not do.
“Is the pace that fast? Coach, I only learned how to sit on the horse yesterday,” Han Fufu tried to wheedle Qin Qiao into slowing the teaching progression.
Qin Qiao was swift and decisive in her actions. She cracked the whip, accelerating the horse instead.
Once the speed increased, the people on the horseback were subjected to intensified bouncing.
“Qin Qiao—” Han Fufu was practically screaming, dragging out her best friend’s name.
Qin Qiao felt the fabric around her waist tighten. It turned out that Han Fufu felt holding the saddle wasn’t safe anymore and had grabbed the cloth on Qin Qiao’s side with one hand.
Han Fufu shrank her neck, her eyes, which she had just opened, closing again.
“You’re quite daring, aren’t you?” Qin Qiao caught Han Fufu’s hand placed on her waist and gently took it off her clothing.
“Qiao Qiao—” Han Fufu called out helplessly, failing to notice that her hand had been placed on the reins by Qin Qiao.
In moments of extreme panic, a person will grasp at anything nearby, like a drowning person clutching at straws. Han Fufu’s wrist was tightly held by Qin Qiao. Unable to grab Qin Qiao’s hand, she instinctively grabbed something with a rope-like texture nearby.
After feeling around, Han Fufu grasped the reins.
Seeing this, Qin Qiao was satisfied. She placed her hand over Han Fufu’s, teaching her how to control the reins hand-in-hand.
“Open your eyes. You have guts; you managed to grab the reins,” Qin Qiao whispered in her ear.
Han Fufu opened her eyes, saw her hands clutching the reins, and felt a surge of excitement and courage. She tried to place her other hand on the rope, but as soon as she let go, her body swayed.
Qin Qiao quickly pressed down on the hand she tried to lift.
“You said I was rushing, but you’re even more impatient than I am.” Qin Qiao embraced Han Fufu from behind. “Don’t rush. Learning to run the horse today is enough.”
Han Fufu wasn’t afraid anymore. She sat on the horse, enjoying the cool breeze, and relaxed her expression. “Coach Qin is amazing.”
“Do you think I’m up to it now?”
Han Fufu laughed. “Yes, you’re perfectly capable, CEO Qin.”
The pheromones of the two Alphas quietly merged, the scent of Spearmint and Sandalwood mixing in the wind.
After one lap, Han Fufu had essentially overcome her fear. With Qin Qiao’s hands-on guidance, she could even slowly control the horse’s direction.
After the simple ride, Han Fufu dismounted and stood beside Qin Qiao, listening to her talk about crucial points in horsemanship, then practicing mounting and dismounting by herself.
Under Qin Qiao’s instruction, Han Fufu became proficient at mounting and dismounting and began learning how to make the horse walk slowly.
“Keep your back straight, one hand on the reins, one hand on the saddle,” Qin Qiao instructed.
Han Fufu followed the commands, completing the movements step by step. She gently tapped the horse’s neck with the reins, and the horse started walking slowly.
“Qiao Qiao, look, I did it!” Han Fufu was excited.
Qin Qiao’s eyes softened. She was pleased as a coach.
Under Qin Qiao’s watchful eye, Han Fufu circled the stable once.
Having mastered one skill, Han Fufu was eager to try it alone.
“Are you sure?” Qin Qiao was a little worried when she heard Han Fufu wanted to ride alone.
Han Fufu was confident. “Yes, I am. And look who taught me.”
“Only you have such a sweet mouth.” Qin Qiao had no choice but to accede to Han Fufu’s request.
Han Fufu rode on the horse’s back, walking slowly for a long time. She looked back and saw Qin Qiao still watching her from the original spot.
“Qiao Qiao, how am I doing?” she called out loudly.
Qin Qiao nodded from a distance and gestured for her to be careful.
Just as they exchanged smiles, Han Fufu’s ears suddenly began ringing.
A piercing, high-frequency sound grazed her ear canal, raising goosebumps.
Just as Han Fufu’s ears were extremely uncomfortable, the normally docile horse suddenly snorted, nervously stomped its hooves a few times, and then let out a sudden neigh.
In a flash, Han Fufu couldn’t react, and her body began to shake violently.
The horse ran away madly, at a speed far greater than when Qin Qiao had been guiding it.
Han Fufu’s heart instantly panicked. She instinctively flattened herself against the horse’s back, clutching the saddle desperately.
The unpleasant memories from childhood overlapped with the present. Her heart pounded abnormally, and her breathing became rapid.
People in a state of extreme terror often don’t scream. Han Fufu was in this state. She had forgotten to yell for help, only able to instinctively close her eyes and lower her posture.
The moment Han Fufu’s horse bolted, all the other unrestrained horses in the stable neighed wildly and bolted.
Some people with superior horsemanship quickly pulled the reins and stroked the horses’ backs to calm them down.
The other beginners, with their coaches present, were merely startled.
Qin Qiao saw the horse rapidly moving away and realized something terrible was happening. She quickly calmed her own horse, swiftly mounted it, and furiously cracked the whip.
“Giddy up!” Qin Qiao shouted, chasing in Han Fufu’s direction.
“D*mn it, faster, faster!” Qin Qiao kept cracking the whip. “Fufu! Hold on, don’t let go!”
Han Fufu couldn’t hear anyone’s voice at this moment; only the rushing wind filled her ears.
Qin Qiao grit her teeth, continuously whipping the horse to increase speed.
Just as Han Fufu was sinking into helplessness, her back felt a sudden warmth, and she was enveloped by the person behind her.
Qin Qiao had ridden her horse parallel to Han Fufu for a while, finally finding an opportunity to grab the reins of the frightened horse. She then seized the moment to swing onto Han Fufu’s horse.
Qin Qiao was somewhat experienced with spooked horses. With a few skillful maneuvers, the horse finally returned to its initial calm state.
The startled Han Fufu slowly came back to her senses. She turned her head, extremely uneasy.
As she glimpsed Qin Qiao, she saw the sunlight from the sky scattering entirely onto Qin Qiao.
That brilliant person had stabilized the entire fiasco.
Han Fufu’s trembling heart suddenly pounded again.
“Fufu, it’s alright now.” Qin Qiao’s voice remained typically calm.
But what Han Fufu heard was limitless tenderness.
Anyone would fall in love with Qin Qiao at this moment…
Han Fufu placed her hand over her chest. After calming down, she softly muttered, “Mhm.”
Due to the accident, everyone in the stable went to the lounge. The stable’s manager began investigating the incident.
Since all the horses reacted simultaneously after a strange whistle, someone must have planned to spook the horses.
Han Fufu, who was the most distressed, was relatively composed. She drank some hot tea in the lounge, and her body warmed up.
The stable’s general manager, hearing that the Han family’s heiress had been startled, rushed into the lounge, looking frantic, and expressed his deep concern for Han Fufu.
“Investigate! Who was it? That kind of ultra-high-frequency whistle is specifically used to agitate animals. Today was definitely not a simple case of spooked horses,” Qin Qiao said angrily.
Han Fufu was about to leave the investigation to the stable manager, but she suddenly recalled seeing Xu Ran yesterday—Xu Ran had something like a whistle hanging around her neck!
