How Can Two Scummy Alphas Fall in Love - Chapter 16
Chapter 16
“Fufu, I cannot help you.” Qin Qiao repeated, her stance firm, leaving no room for negotiation. “At this critical juncture, no one dares to help your brother. I advise you not to protect him either. He’s a dead weight, beyond saving. Instead of worrying about him, you should think about us.”
“If I don’t save my brother, my mother will…” Han Fufu paused. “What did you just say? About us?”
“Yes, about us.” Qin Qiao walked up to Han Fufu and leaned in close to her ear. “Don’t you want us to be together soon? Listen to me. Stop thinking about rescuing your stupid brother. It won’t benefit your family at all.”
“But I still want to…”
“Fufu, why are you so indecisive after changing your gland? You’re not like your old self, who was so resolute.”
Han Fufu was drawn in by Qin Qiao’s words. She still wanted to get her brother out, but she could only temporarily agree: “I understand. I’ll listen to you.”
“Fufu, you’re so good.” Qin Qiao reached out to cup Han Fufu’s chin, slowly tracing down her neck.
Han Fufu, having become an Omega, clearly benefited greatly from Qin Qiao’s pheromones. It was the first time she felt Qin Qiao’s pheromones cause a tingly sensation all over her body. She closed her eyes comfortably.
Qin Qiao, in the dominant position, looked down at Han Fufu’s increasingly melting expression, a barely visible cold sneer forming at the corner of her mouth.
The two were soon intimately entangled and headed into the room, their clothes, from jackets to undergarments, being discarded one by one onto the floor.
In Han Fufu’s state of passion, she only heard Qin Qiao whisper in her ear: “The day after tomorrow, go back and talk to your mother, tell her about our relationship. Our good news should make Auntie temporarily forget about your brother’s situation. Remember, the day after tomorrow, don’t forget.”
“Okay…” Han Fufu replied with great difficulty, the rest of her words dissolving into sounds of pleasure.
Qin Qiao still disliked the unfamiliar pheromones from Han Fufu filling her room, but when engaged in such intimacy with Han Fufu, it was hard for her not to feel better.
These two complex emotions intertwined. Coupled with the reality of what Qin Qiao was doing to Han Fufu, she was internally conflicted.
This conflicting emotion suppressed Qin Qiao, causing her actions to become somewhat rough.
“Fufu… don’t do that… I can’t take it…” Tears welled up in Han Fufu’s eyes.
Qin Qiao completely ignored Han Fufu’s feelings, merely using the act to numb her own chaotic thoughts.
After the frenzy, Han Fufu lay exhausted on the bed, while Qin Qiao got dressed, looking like she had something to do.
“Where are you going so late?” Han Fufu vaguely saw that Qin Qiao intended to leave.
Qin Qiao reached out and pulled the blanket over Han Fufu. “A friend isn’t feeling well. I’m going to check on her.”
“What friend? Do I know her? I’ll go with you. It’s not safe for you to be alone so late,” Han Fufu rubbed her eyes, wanting to get up and go along.
Qin Qiao gently pressed Han Fufu back onto the bed. She hesitated for a moment before finally marking a deep kiss on Han Fufu’s lips.
It was initially intended to be a light touch, but Qin Qiao couldn’t help but deepen the kiss, passionately consuming the crimson of her lips.
After a moment of intimate rubbing, Qin Qiao straightened up, placed a hand on Han Fufu’s forehead, and looked at her with rare tenderness. Her voice was much softer than usual. “Fufu, go to sleep. She’s just a Beta. You’re the only one in my heart, okay?”
Hearing this, Han Fufu finally relaxed, closed her eyes, and mumbled to Qin Qiao: “Be careful on the road. Come back soon.”
For the next two days, Han Fufu and Qin Qiao were constantly together.
Coincidentally, Qin Qiao had little work these two days. Whatever Han Fufu wanted to do, Qin Qiao would accompany her.
They went to the movies together, like an ordinary couple, holding hands as they walked and sharing stories only they understood.
Qin Qiao was actually a rather uninteresting woman. Her daily life was highly regimented: wake up early, morning run, work, rest. Her rest usually meant being at home or occasionally going out for a drink.
In contrast, Han Fufu enjoyed a spontaneous life, doing whatever came to mind when she had the time.
She also liked challenging and exciting activities: mountaineering, rock climbing, bungee jumping. Sometimes, she also enjoyed poetic and artistic pursuits, or camping and barbecues.
At Han Fufu’s suggestion, the two spent two enjoyable days together. During this time, Qin Qiao was very cooperative with Han Fufu, even taking meticulous care of her. In Han Fufu’s eyes, their interaction had a very “married life” feel.
If possible, Han Fufu hoped to live like this day after day.
On the afternoon of the second day, Qin Qiao informed Han Fufu that she had to go on a business trip the next day and would be out of the capital. She suggested Han Fufu take this opportunity to go back to the family estate and discuss their relationship.
Han Fufu agreed without much thought.
“Then you should go back to the family estate tonight and spend the night. Comfort Auntie properly and stay with her for a day. If I can rush back from Tangcheng tomorrow, I’ll come to your family home to pick you up, and I’ll talk to Auntie too,” Qin Qiao said.
Han Fufu pointed to her cheek. “Kiss me, and I’ll go.”
“You.” Qin Qiao smiled a rare smile, leaned toward Han Fufu, and instead of kissing her cheek, she grabbed her chin and deeply consumed the crimson of her lips.
Lately, they were easily ignited, flaring up with a single touch.
Han Fufu was left breathless by Qin Qiao’s kiss and pushed her away with a laugh. “Stop kissing me. If you keep going, you won’t let me leave again.”
“Not today. I have important work tomorrow, and I have to leave soon.” Qin Qiao stood up. “I’m going to change clothes. You should go back.”
Han Fufu looked at Qin Qiao, then left.
After leaving the house, Han Fufu started to worry.
Going back to the family estate meant having to listen to her mother’s nagging again.
With the gland transplant and her brother’s situation, this was not an easy home to return to.
However, to formalize her relationship with Qin Qiao as quickly as possible, Han Fufu mustered her courage and drove back.
Some things needed to be laid out and discussed.
Han Fufu returned to the family estate late that night, after her mother had already gone to sleep.
The servants on night watch downstairs saw Miss return and were about to greet her.
Han Fufu immediately put her index finger to her lips, signaling them to keep quiet. Then she quietly sneaked upstairs to her room to rest.
Han Fufu tossed and turned in bed all night and only managed to catch a little sleep close to dawn.
Just as she was sleeping soundly, the door was abruptly opened.
Madam Han stood at the doorway and had the servants wake Han Fufu up directly.
Han Fufu groggily opened her eyes, saw her mother standing at the door with a very displeased expression. Knowing she was at fault, she quickly got out of bed, ignoring her morning temper, and followed behind her mother to appease her.
“Mom, I came back too late last night, so I deliberately didn’t tell you,” Han Fufu’s attitude was unusually soft.
Madam Han stood with her arms crossed, sulking. “You actually remembered to come back.”
“I was wrong, really,” Han Fufu affectionately hugged her mother’s arm, acting like a daughter and coaxing her mother, which was rare.
Madam Han was not a person with a heart of stone. Being charmed by her daughter, she quickly softened. She sighed and looked at her daughter. “Since you’ve changed to an Omega, I can’t force you to change back. It’s too damaging to your health.”
“Mhm.”
“But, you must find a way for your brother’s situation.” Madam Han’s heart ached, thinking of her son locked up, not knowing if he was cold or warm. “Your brother… he just doesn’t have a business mind. It’s all my fault that he’s like me, or he wouldn’t constantly cause trouble for the family.”
“Mom, don’t talk about yourself like that,” Han Fufu leaned close to her mother and gently shook her hand. “Don’t worry, I will find a way. No matter how flawed he is, he’s still my brother.”
“You need to act fast. Every extra day he spends in there makes it more difficult,” Madam Han said, then felt heartbroken for her son. She wiped her tears and sat down at the dining table with her daughter. “You two worry me sick. If your father hadn’t been in that condition, I wouldn’t have lost control over you…”
“Mom, don’t be so sad. You still have me in the family,” Han Fufu pulled out a chair and personally helped her mother sit down.
Madam Han sighed again after sitting down. “You’ve become an Omega. How… how can I be at ease?”
“This has nothing to do with whether I’m an Omega or an Alpha. I’m still me,” Han Fufu paused. “But, you should try to trust Qiao Qiao. With her by my side, you don’t need to worry.”
“No matter how close Qiao Qiao is to you, she’s only your childhood friend. How can you expect me to trust her…” Madam Han trailed off, suddenly realizing the implication. She looked up and spoke with uncertainty. “You and Qiao Qiao? Are you two…”
“Mom, it’s what you think.”
“You and Qiao Qiao are together? Really?” Madam Han was still in disbelief. “Weren’t you two just friends who hung out everywhere? How did this suddenly happen…”
“I really like Qiao Qiao. I changed my gland because of her,” Han Fufu reassured her mother. “Don’t worry, there won’t be any problems with us being together.”
“You changed your gland for her?” Madam Han frowned. “You did this even before you’re married? Did she ask you to become an Omega?”
Although Qin Qiao had never explicitly said such a thing, Han Fufu did change her gland because Qin Qiao said she would marry her if she were an Omega.
Ultimately, Han Fufu did it voluntarily.
“It was my decision to change. How could Qiao Qiao force me to be an Omega? We were actually…” Han Fufu looked a little embarrassed. “We were actually together before that.”
Madam Han was surprised. She recalled the last time she asked Han Fufu to bring a partner home, and her daughter brought Qin Qiao. Now it seemed it wasn’t a joke at all. She couldn’t even bother to drink the coffee next to her. “How could you hide this from me? Was that what you meant when you brought her back last time?”
“Yes,” Han Fufu lowered her eyes, afraid to look at her mother, appearing like a child who had done something wrong.
Madam Han carefully considered the recent events and suddenly felt that if her daughter married Qin Qiao, it might be the best possible outcome.
“Did you only come back this time to tell me about you two?” Mother knows best. Madam Han immediately saw through Han Fufu’s true intention.
Han Fufu could only tell the truth. “Yes…”
“I knew it! You wouldn’t come back without a reason!” Madam Han looked exasperated, feeling disappointed in her daughter’s lack of initiative.
Seeing her mother like this, Han Fufu sat next to her, both comforting her and promising that she wouldn’t always stay away from home anymore.
“You’re about to be married. Do you think you can still frequently come home? My old bones don’t expect much from you,” Madam Han feigned anger, but she was already placated and no longer upset with her daughter.
Han Fufu was quick-witted and agreed with her mother. “Mom, I’ll definitely stay with you today. I won’t go anywhere.”
“Hmph, you’re home, but I don’t have time to stay home,” Madam Han ate a few bites of breakfast. “I have to go to church service soon and won’t be back until before dinner.”
“Mom, you should stop believing in those…” Han Fufu stopped halfway, realizing she shouldn’t say that. “Fine, you go. Be careful on the road. I’ll wait for you at home. I won’t go anywhere.”
“It would be a wonder if you could stay put. You’ll probably run off to the company soon,” Madam Han’s words clearly implied that her daughter was not to leave.
Han Fufu understood the underlying message. She agreed: “Mom, you go to the service, and I’ll take a nap at home. I won’t go anywhere. You can check when you return this afternoon. If I’ve run off, you won’t let me eat dinner.”
“Fine, no dinner if you’re naughty.” After saying this, Madam Han couldn’t keep up the pretense of anger anymore. She covered her mouth and smiled. “Alright, Mom isn’t mad at you anymore. I’m going to the church at noon. I’ll go get ready first. You can go back to your room and do whatever you need to do.”
“Yes, Fairy Godmother,” Han Fufu said.
“Silly mouth,” Madam Han walked away smiling.
At noon, Madam Han left as planned.
Han Fufu was initially sitting on the outdoor balcony, sunbathing and looking at her ledgers. The warm sunlight made her genuinely sleepy.
Remembering her lack of sleep the previous night, Han Fufu decided to actually take a nap.
“I’m going to sleep for a bit. Call me when Mother returns,” Han Fufu handed her tablet to a servant and headed toward her room.
Just before reaching the door, her phone vibrated in her pocket.
When Han Fufu wasn’t working, she carried her private phone, and whoever was texting her was most likely Qin Qiao.
The thought made her pull out her phone to check if it was a message from Qin Qiao.
As soon as she opened her phone, Han Fufu found it was an anonymous text message. The title was: Qin Qiao didn’t go on a business trip at all. She’s getting engaged at the Huafu Hotel today.
Attached was an image. The picture showed Qin Qiao and Fu Qiao, standing shoulder-to-shoulder in identical-style dresses.
In the photo, Qin Qiao held a velvet box. The box was open, revealing a diamond ring lying inside.
The ring looked incredibly valuable, sparkling brilliantly under the light, particularly blinding.
Han Fufu couldn’t think of any other purpose for the ring besides an engagement or marriage.
After reading the text, Han Fufu was surprisingly composed.
She turned to a familiar maid and instructed: “Put on my pajamas and lie in my bed. Don’t move until I return. I have to go out for a while. Don’t tell anyone.”
The maid nodded in agreement.
Han Fufu quickly changed clothes and hurried out the door.
