Honey, Open The Door. I Want To Give You The Room Key - Chapter 56.2
Lou Qingshuang took a bite too. “The flavor is quite authentic.” She took a few more bites before noticing Liu Yu, whose eyes were misty from the spice. Liu Yu’s fair cheeks were flushed, and she was panting for air.
Lou Qingshuang couldn’t help but laugh at Liu Yu’s disheveled state. She handed her a bottle of milk. “Good thing I asked the owner for two bottles of milk.”
“How did you know?” Liu Yu took a deep breath and gulped down the milk to soothe the heat.
“I saw what you ordered. Next time, you don’t have to order the beef just for me,” Lou Qingshuang said, touching Liu Yu’s flushed face. She knew Liu Yu was trying to match her tastes so they could grow closer.
“I just wanted to try it today,” Liu Yu insisted stubbornly. She tried to take another piece of beef, but Lou Qingshuang shook her head and scooped a bowl of tender meat and green vegetable soup for her instead. “Stop eating the beef. Have some soup.” Lou Qingshuang blocked Liu Yu’s chopsticks, barely suppressing a laugh at Liu Yu’s swollen, red lips.
While they were eating, Mi Shui’s crew gained another investor—one who simply dropped twenty million yuan without a second thought. Mi Shui and Sang He were stunned. The investor was an elegant person with dyed golden hair, wearing a well-tailored green suit and gold-rimmed glasses. The deal was finalized within the hour.
As Liu Yu and Lou Qingshuang returned, their car passed the other investor’s. Liu Yu didn’t notice Liu Cheng passing by. When Lou Qingshuang got back, she learned about the new investment, which gave Mi Shui enough budget to polish the special effects to perfection.
“You really are our lucky star,” Sang He said, hugging Lou Qingshuang with tears in her eyes.
Liu Yu, wearing sunglasses and a hat, wasn’t recognized. She stood by Lou Qingshuang, listening to the talk of the new investment. “The other party can transfer the funds this afternoon. He won’t interfere with filming or push other actors into the cast. A truly divine investor,” Sang He remarked.
Liu Yu smiled at Lou Qingshuang. By securing the initial three million the night before, Lou Qingshuang had caught the opportunity before Mi Shui no longer needed it, allowing her to sign a better profit-sharing contract.
After dropping Lou Qingshuang off, Liu Yu left to visit a sub-group of her corporation filming a Xianxia drama nearby. Led by her secretary, she entered the set quietly.
“My filming will be done in half an hour. I’ll come find you then,” Lou Qingshuang sent a voice message.
“Alright. I’ll wait for you at the neighboring set.”
At the Xianxia set, Liu Yu was greeted by the director and producer. The leads and supporting cast were all there, looking at her with pleasant surprise. “Hello, Chairperson.” The female lead, Qiu Mi, spoke gracefully. Dressed in a silver-white ancient costume, she looked ethereal and fit the role perfectly.
“Hello,” Liu Yu nodded, her gaze moving to the set decorations. She sat in the director’s chair to observe. Knowing the big boss was there, the actors gave the performances of their lives. Liu Yu leaned back, her sunglasses hiding her expression.
When Lou Qingshuang arrived, she was dressed low-key in a sun hat and shades. “Tired?” Liu Yu asked, pulling her to a chair.
“No. I was just asking Sang He about the investor and heard a lot of gossip,” Lou Qingshuang sat elegantly, watching the actors in mid-air on wire harnesses.
Qiu Mi glanced at Lou Qingshuang and frowned. Her concentration wavered, and her sword swing nearly struck her co-star’s face.
“Cut!” the director yelled.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” Qiu Mi apologized, checking on the other actor, Yu Fen. Fortunately, it was just a graze. She peeked at Liu Yu, who remained impassive, leaving the director to handle it.
Lou Qingshuang took off her hat and glasses, tossing her long hair. A photographer captured this moment—the flowing hair shimmering in the sun as Lou Qingshuang smiled brilliantly. The photographer took a dozen shots, planning to post them, unaware of the stir they would cause.
Knowing Liu Yu would be there for a few days, the director, Gu Hua, invited her to a dinner gathering that evening. Liu Yu didn’t refuse. Lou Qingshuang hadn’t planned on going, but Liu Yu leaned on her shoulder. “If you don’t come, what if I get drunk?”
“You think no one would take care of you if you’re drunk?” Lou Qingshuang teased.
“Definitely no one,” Liu Yu teased back.
The two changed and went to the restaurant. “Chairperson, a toast to you. Thanks to your approval, this drama is happening. Xianxia is hard to film with so many effects,” Director Gu Hua said respectfully.
“It’s a good script. Film it well,” Liu Yu replied.
Qiu Mi stepped forward to toast. In a yellow dress, she looked stunning. “It’s been a long time, Chairperson.”
“Not since the annual meeting. You’ve worked hard,” Liu Yu replied, taking a sip of wine.
Lou Qingshuang sat nearby. People toasted her as well, having noted Liu Yu’s intimacy with her and assuming she was someone important. Whether she was a girlfriend or something else, they didn’t dare guess; they simply treated her with the utmost respect. Lou Qingshuang handled it all gracefully, knowing this was part of being with Liu Yu.
Qiu Mi watched Lou Qingshuang and Liu Yu, feeling a sense of resentment. She had liked Liu Yu for years but never had a chance to get close. Now thirty, she was ready to give up when Liu Yu appeared—with someone else. Qiu Mi took a drink and approached Lou Qingshuang with a practiced smile. “Hello, Ms. Lou.”
“Hello, Ms. Qiu. Your acting is wonderful; I often watch your shows,” Lou Qingshuang said politely.
Qiu Mi listened, realizing this Omega was sophisticated and hard to read. She smiled and took a drink, her acting skills hiding her calculated intent. “I’ll go chat with the others and come back later,” Qiu Mi said elegantly.
Lou Qingshuang sat back, feeling a bit drowsy. Liu Yu walked over and sat next to her. “Tired?”
“A bit. Are these all local directors and producers?”
“Yes, they’re here to network for future investments,” Liu Yu said, drinking some mineral water. “Did you eat anything?”
“A little. I don’t have much of an appetite.”
Seeing Lou Qingshuang’s fatigue, Liu Yu stroked her hair. “Do you want to head back first?”
“What about you?”
“I’ll be back soon. I’ll have the bodyguards take you. I’ll leave after the second half,” Liu Yu said softly.
“Alright. I’ll wait for you at the hotel.” Lou Qingshuang hugged Liu Yu and left.
As the guest of honor, Liu Yu couldn’t leave early. She needed to talk to the directors to understand the market. Qiu Mi watched her from afar, holding a small vial of a catalyst—a substance that could trigger an Alpha-Omega heat response. It had a very faint scent that was hard to detect. If she succeeded, she would at least get Liu Yu’s resources, if not the woman herself.
When Liu Yu wasn’t looking, Qiu Mi crushed the vial in the crowd. Liu Yu smelled something sweet and cloying. She frowned, but the scent vanished instantly. Soon, she felt dizzy.
“What’s with the wine today? My head is spinning,” said Zhu Rou, the second female lead. Others around her felt the same.
“Maybe you’re just drunk?” her assistant suggested.
Zhu Rou realized her glands were burning. “Xiao Yuan, my heat is starting.”
“That’s impossible, it was only two weeks ago,” the assistant whispered. Zhu Rou realized someone had played a dirty trick.
Qiu Mi arrived, swaying, her face flushed, and a faint coffee aroma beginning to leak out. Her assistant was nowhere to be found. “My head is so dizzy…”
Zhu Rou saw several Alphas and Omegas showing symptoms. “Get me out of here and tell the director,” she ordered. If multiple AOs lost control of their pheromones, it would be a disaster.
Liu Yu sat on the sofa, her gland becoming increasingly hot and painful. She opened her eyes, her gaze fierce. Someone had definitely drugged her. The pain was familiar. She saw Qiu Mi collapse onto the sofa nearby.
“It hurts…” Qiu Mi moaned. A bitter, roasted coffee scent drifted toward Liu Yu. She was trying to control herself, but the pheromones were leaking.
“Chairperson, please… call my assistant,” Qiu Mi pleaded, her eyes watery and seductive.
Liu Yu’s expression was ice cold as she looked for her secretary, Luo Xiangxue, and her bodyguards. A mediocre male actor approached, eyeing the collapsed Qiu Mi. “I’ll take you back, Qiu Mi,” he said, ignoring Liu Yu.
“Get out,” Liu Yu growled, her powerful Alpha presence exploding and pinning the man in place. This surge of high-level pheromones caused Qiu Mi to lose all control. She stood up, her eyes glazed, looking at Liu Yu.
“Chairperson…” she called out, her voice soft and enchanting.
