Honey, Open The Door. I Want To Give You The Room Key - Chapter 50.2
In England, Liu Yu met with several friends and business partners to maintain relationships. Privately, she had people investigating whether the scattered members of the Liu family were up to any schemes.
Tonight, Liu Yu had consumed a fair amount of whiskey. Wearing a black shirt and a bright ring, she stepped out of a bar. She had come to find an old childhood friend whose family had fallen on hard times. Though she was now financially stable and owned several bars, she had long since left their former social circles.
“Liu Yu, your watch!” A cool, glamorous Omega ran out from behind, returning the watch Liu Yu had left behind.
“Thanks, Que An. If you ever need help, just let me know,” Liu Yu said, taking the watch and putting it on.
“With my life now—money, wine, and beautiful people—I really don’t run into much trouble,” Que An said, taking a drag of her cigarette and exhaling slowly. “Should I drive you back?” she asked, noticing Liu Yu hadn’t brought bodyguards.
“Sure,” Liu Yu nodded. Since she had been drinking, she couldn’t drive.
Que An took the keys Liu Yu handed over and sat in the familiar car; she used to own several like it herself. The engine purred to life, and the black Bentley pulled out of the alley. The four bouncers at the door smiled knowingly as their boss left.
Que An, with her cool, shoulder-length short hair, rolled down the window and flicked her cigarette away. “Liu Yu, you intentionally didn’t bring bodyguards today. Were you planning something?”
She kept one hand on the steering wheel and looked at Liu Yu.
“I wanted to lure a few people out,” Liu Yu replied, leaning her head back against the seat. Her collarbone was sharp and alluring in the dim light.
“Using yourself as bait again. You really have a death wish, always willing to gamble with your life,” Que An said dismissively. During their hardest times, they had even worked as “collarbone models” together; she was long bored of such risks.
As they drove through the midnight streets, Liu Yu received a text from Lou Qingshuang: I’m back in Luzhou.
Liu Yu looked at the profile picture, a smile in her eyes. Good.
Just then, traffic increased. A box truck swerved from the side, the driver staring deathly at Liu Yu’s car. He slammed on the accelerator and gripped the wheel, aiming straight for them.
Seeing the truck charging, Que An remained calm. She shifted into reverse and executed a sharp turn, narrowly avoiding the collision. Liu Yu’s body jolted violently; if not for the seatbelt, she would have been thrown.
CRASH!
The truck slammed into a large tree, its front end caving in.
Liu Yu and Que An sat in the car, their faces cold as they watched the scene.
“Let’s go,” Liu Yu said in a low voice.
As Que An tried to start the car, she realized the tires had been punctured by iron nails. She turned to Liu Yu. “You think these nails were an accident or intentional?”
“Let’s get out and walk.” Liu Yu called her bodyguards. Just then, Countess Lindsay, who had just finished another banquet, happened to pass by.
Lindsay ordered her bodyguard to knock on the window. She had witnessed the narrow escape and realized Liu Yu’s surroundings were unsafe—reaching out now was a good way to build a friendship.
Liu Yu looked at the burly, bald bodyguard who produced an ID. “I am Countess Lindsay’s guard. She invites you to rest in her vehicle.”
Liu Yu and Que An exchanged a look. At least they wouldn’t have to face any immediate hidden threats on the street.
“You were too reckless today,” Que An said as she unbuckled. “The attacker clearly didn’t expect to succeed in one go, otherwise, they would have rammed you twice. You wouldn’t have escaped.”
“I only wanted to draw them out to see who it was,” Liu Yu replied, also unbuckling. She had already neutralized many of the Liu family members; those abroad shouldn’t have the means to attack her.
She looked at Countess Lindsay, who was dressed elegantly in the night. If it wasn’t the Lius, who was it?
“Let’s go. We’ll talk in the car.” As Que An stepped out, she spotted the Omega she had been avoiding. The other woman saw her too.
“Hi,” Lindsay chirped with a sweet smile.
Only Que An knew what was hidden beneath that sugary exterior.
“You know her?” Liu Yu asked, noticing Que An’s hesitation. Que An took a deep breath. “Not well.”
Liu Yu sensed some gossip but didn’t press further.
“Liu, are you alright? Do you need to go to the hospital?” Lindsay asked.
“Thank you, Countess. I’m fine, just a blown tire,” Liu Yu thanked her from the window.
At that moment, Liu Yu’s bodyguards arrived.
“Chairman, are you alright?” Zhu Yan and the guards rushed over.
“I’m fine, I wasn’t hit.” Liu Yu looked around; the accident was already being handled.
“Since your guards are here, I’ll be on my way. See you soon,” Lindsay bid farewell, her gaze lingering several times on Que An, who was smoking and refusing to look at her.
Que An kept her head down, avoiding the gaze, and returned with Liu Yu.
In China, Lou Qingshuang saw the news of Liu Yu’s accident: Chairman of Liu Group Narrowly Escapes Death in Truck Collision.
She read the sensationalist headline, but as she read further, it clarified that Liu Yu was uninjured. In fact, the truck driver had suffered a heart attack and nearly died; it was Liu Yu who had him rescued and sent to the hospital. Seeing that Liu Yu was safe, Lou Qingshuang closed the app.
Three nights later, Lou Qingshuang’s door was suddenly knocked on. When she opened it, she saw Liu Yu. The scent of roses swirled around her.
“I missed you,” Liu Yu said, standing in the doorway drenched by the wind and rain. She wore a deep purple pinstriped shirt in the muggy air.
Lou Qingshuang looked at her; rainwater dripped from Liu Yu’s hair, and the wet shirt clung to her body, revealing her lean, powerful physique.
Liu Yu stepped forward, forcing Lou Qingshuang back. She reached behind and closed the door. Inside, the air conditioning hummed; outside, the rain poured.
The pheromones emerging from the nape of Liu Yu’s neck brushed against Lou Qingshuang like a large hand. The cold rose scent was layered and heavy, entangling itself with her.
Liu Yu unbuttoned the purple shirt, revealing a black lace camisole underneath. Her collarbones gleamed white. Lou Qingshuang’s pupils contracted; at this moment, Liu Yu was breathtaking—beautiful, commanding, and subtly seductive.
“The news said something happened to you,” Lou Qingshuang said in the darkness.
“Someone abroad wants me dead.” Liu Yu slowly drew closer until they were less than ten centimeters apart.
“Are you hurt?” Lou Qingshuang’s eyes were clear.
Liu Yu leaned down to catch Lou Qingshuang’s scent, feeling a sense of peace. “No. The truck driver had a heart attack, so it’s hard to prove who was behind it. I checked the surveillance; he was driving straight at me before the attack. Because of his condition, it isn’t considered evidence.”
Liu Yu’s nose brushed against Lou Qingshuang’s face, a phantom touch. Lou Qingshuang’s lashes fluttered. Liu Yu loved those clean, clear eyes.
A swaying scent of blooming roses responded clumsily to Liu Yu’s pheromones. Sensing the hesitation in the air, Liu Yu looked into her eyes. “I haven’t officially entered my heat yet, Shuangshuang. You can still regret this.”
Liu Yu brushed her hair aside, exposing the swollen pheromone gland at the nape of her neck. “If you want to terminate the agreement, I understand,” she said, cupping Lou Qingshuang’s face.
The pheromones in the room felt like a garden of roses in full bloom, attracting Lou Qingshuang with a heat-filled intensity. Liu Yu’s hot breath fell on her lips. Wearing a white silk slip, Lou Qingshuang felt lost.
“Let me… let me have a moment to prepare myself mentally,” Lou Qingshuang turned her head and pulled away. Despite her preparations and their previous intimacy, Liu Yu’s sudden arrival left her feeling overwhelmed.
Liu Yu stepped forward and hugged her, burying her head in Lou Qingshuang’s shoulder. Her voice was thick with exhaustion. “Just let me lean on you for a bit.”
