Hold Tight to the Female Lead's Thigh [Transmigration GL] - Episode 5
Unable to go outside and wander freely, Taohua found herself utterly bored in the room and asked Xiao Zhu to fetch a book to pass the time.
To her surprise, Xiao Zhu brought back a medical text. Taohua had no knowledge of medicine whatsoever and couldn’t understand a word of what was written in the book. After just two pages, she was already yawning.
After flipping through a few more pages, her eyes grew heavy, and she couldn’t resist resting her head on the table for a short nap.
Unexpectedly, she slept until evening. Slowly opening her eyes, Taohua saw only darkness outside the window and asked hoarsely, “What time is it now?”
Xiao Zhu lit the oil lamp upon seeing her awake and replied, suppressing a smile, “Miss, it’s almost Xu hour.”
Covering her mouth as she yawned, Taohua’s mind was still foggy. “It’s already so late?”
“Yes, Guardian Guan has been waiting for you in the lakeside pavilion.”
Taohua froze, then quickly stood up. “Then let’s hurry over. We mustn’t keep her waiting.”
Xiao Zhu chuckled softly and opened the door, leading the way for Taohua.
Once outside, Taohua realized that what she had seen through the window was just a fraction of the view. The entire Hibiscus Garden was filled with all kinds of exotic flowers and rare plants, a dazzling array. Along the path, there were numerous rockeries and pavilions, exquisitely crafted, almost as if nature itself had shaped them.
Though the Cui family was wealthy, it couldn’t compare to this Hibiscus Garden. Following Xiao Zhu, Taohua was utterly mesmerized. It was like a fairyland, with winding paths so intricate that it was no wonder Xiao Zhu hadn’t let her venture out earlier.
“Miss, we’re here.”
“Here?” Taohua looked around. There wasn’t even a bridge around the lake—how were they supposed to reach the pavilion in the middle?
“Yes.”
“Um… are we taking a boat to the pavilion in the middle of the lake?” Taohua asked, puzzled.
“No, we can go directly,” Xiao Zhu replied with a smile.
“Directly go?”
Before Taohua could grasp what that meant, Guan Fusha from the lakeside pavilion took a deep breath and leaped, her toes lightly skimming the water’s surface as she effortlessly reached the shore, her delicate embroidered shoes not even damp.
“Miss Taohua,” Guan Fusha greeted her with a smile.
Taohua was utterly awestruck by Guan Fusha’s “miraculous” lightness skill. This was the real art of walking on water!
Guan Fusha, noticing Taohua’s unblinking gaze, suddenly had a mischievous idea. “Miss Taohua, let me take you to the lakeside pavilion.”
“Huh? Wha—”
Before Taohua could react, Guan Fusha stepped forward and wrapped an arm around her slender waist. With a light tap of her toes, they “flew” toward the lake. Taohua nearly screamed in fright but suddenly heard Guan Fusha whisper in her ear, “Hold onto me, or you’ll fall.”
Survival instincts kicked in faster than her brain could process, and Taohua immediately clung tightly to Guan Fusha, terrified of plummeting into the lake.
In just a few seconds, Guan Fusha had carried Taohua to the lakeside pavilion. The moment she let go, Taohua’s legs gave way, and she nearly collapsed to the ground.
Oh god, that was terrifying! Never again will I joke about “taking me flying”! QAQ
Guan Fusha steadied her arm, barely suppressing a smile as the corners of her lips curled up involuntarily. “Miss Taohua, are you alright?”
“I—I’m fine,” Taohua feigned composure, though her startled heart hadn’t quite calmed down yet.
Guan Fusha helped her sit down and handed her a delicate little wine cup filled with a pale red liquid. “Here, have a drink to steady your nerves.”
Taohua took the cup and downed it without a second glance. A subtle grape fragrance spread across her tongue, elegant and refined, lingering pleasantly. “Mmm~ What is this? It’s so good.”
Guan Fusha sat across from her, picking up a matching wine pot to refill her cup. With a soft laugh, she said, “This is called ‘Thousand-Day Drunk,’ one of the famous wines from the northern kingdom.”
“Thousand-Day Drunk?” Taohua lifted the cup and gave it a gentle sniff, finding the aroma so enticing it made her mouth water.
The name didn’t sound particularly strong. If it took a thousand days to get drunk, the alcohol content must be low. Besides, when she drank it earlier, it didn’t taste like alcohol at all, more like grape juice.
Seeing Taohua’s cup empty again, Guan Fusha smiled and poured her another. “Indeed, ‘Thousand-Day Drunk’ means ‘one cup is enough to intoxicate for a thousand days.'”
Taohua nearly spat out the wine she had just sipped.
One cup was enough to intoxicate for a thousand days? Wasn’t this wine called Thousand-Day Drunk? Shouldn’t it mean “drinking for a thousand days before getting drunk”? Was Guan Fusha teasing her for being uneducated?
Just as she thought this, Taohua suddenly felt a wave of dizziness. She rubbed her temples, feeling strangely lethargic.
Guan Fusha continued to gaze at her with an amused smile. “Oh, I think I forgot to mention. This wine hits especially fast on an empty stomach.”
The alcohol surged through her, clouding Taohua’s vision. Her face flushed, and the world spun before her eyes. The Guan Fusha sitting across from her seemed to multiply into several figures.
She reached out toward Guan Fusha, half-collapsed on the stone table, pouting in dissatisfaction. “S-Stop swaying! My head’s spinning…”
Guan Fusha burst into laughter at her drunken antics, unable to hold back any longer.
Who would have thought this little girl named Taohua could be so adorable!
In her dazed state, Taohua suddenly recalled a poem she had once studied—The Goddess of the Luo River.
“Her gaze shifts, radiant as flowing light; her jade-like face glows with grace. Words unspoken, her breath like orchids; her beauty so enchanting, it makes one forget to eat.”
Back then, she had thought the poem exaggerated. How could such beauty exist in the world? But now, she realized there truly was a woman whose mere smile could steal one’s soul.
Guan Fusha took the cup from Taohua’s hand, their accidental touch sending a shiver through Taohua’s body, as if an electric current had passed through her. Her mind went blank, and she could only stare dumbly at Guan Fusha.
“Miss Taohua, are you drunk?” Guan Fusha knelt before her, gently cupping her cheek with a touch so tender it seemed afraid to startle her. Her smile was like opium, intoxicating Taohua beyond escape.
Taohua nuzzled against Guan Fusha’s soft hand like an affectionate kitten, clinging tightly to her. “Hold me! Please hold me!”
