Hold Tight to the Female Lead's Thigh [Transmigration GL] - Episode 17
Peach Blossom didn’t dare move recklessly, her gaze drifting toward the intricately carved wooden table in the distance where breakfast was laid out. A faint, pitiful expression crossed her face, as if she were being deprived of her meal.
Guan Fusha followed her line of sight and couldn’t help but chuckle softly. She tapped Peach Blossom’s nose with her fingertip, her tone full of affection, “You little greedy cat.”
The intimate gesture made Peach Blossom blush. She turned her head away, avoiding eye contact. “What about my breakfast?”
As if oblivious to Peach Blossom’s expression, Guan Fusha replied, “I’ll have someone bring it to you in a moment. Don’t forget, your foot is injured, so you can’t get out of bed today.”
Thinking Guan Fusha couldn’t see, Peach Blossom pouted unhappily but obediently said, “Understood, Senior Sister.”
Pretending not to notice, Guan Fusha released her hand. “Wait here for a bit.”
With that, she turned and left the room. Curious, Peach Blossom glanced after her and saw her pause at the doorway to speak with a maid before walking away.
Peach Blossom felt a pang of confusion. She had assumed Guan Fusha was arranging for her meal, so why had she suddenly left?
Shortly after, Xiao Zhu entered the room. “This humble servant greets the Protector.”
“Xiao Zhu!” Only then did Peach Blossom recall how Xiao Zhu had risked her life to save her again the previous night. Worried, she quickly asked, “By the way, were you injured last night?”
“Thank you for your concern, Protector. This servant was not injured.” Xiao Zhu walked over to the carved wooden table, picked up a portion of breakfast, and brought it to Peach Blossom’s bedside.
“That’s good to hear.” Reassured by Xiao Zhu’s response, Peach Blossom relaxed.
Counting the incident with Xiao Yuan, this was already the second time Xiao Zhu had risked her life for her. Peach Blossom couldn’t help but wonder what misfortune had befallen this girl, assigned by Guan Fusha to serve her, as she hadn’t experienced a single peaceful day since.
Recalling the snake from the previous night, Peach Blossom shuddered.
She had been at the Night God Cult for some time now. During her idle moments, she would sometimes stroll around the courtyard of the estate, but she had never encountered so much as an earthworm, let alone a snake. Yet last night, a snake had appeared not just in her bedroom but right beside her pillow. No matter how she thought about it, it didn’t seem like a coincidence; someone must have done it intentionally. If her guess was correct, that snake was likely venomous.
The thought that someone was eyeing her life with malicious intent sent a chill down Peach Blossom’s spine.
Noticing her unease, Xiao Zhu asked, “Protector, are you alright? Are you feeling unwell?”
“I’m fine.” Peach Blossom forced a smile and shook her head. She picked up the bowl of porridge from the tray and took a spoonful, but her eyes kept drifting involuntarily toward the door.
She had no idea who in the Night God Cult wanted her dead. Without Guan Fusha, her sturdy pillar of support she couldn’t even eat in peace.
Xiao Zhu, aware that Peach Blossom was waiting for Guan Fusha, covered her mouth with her sleeve and chuckled softly. “Protector, this bowl of bird’s nest porridge you’re eating was specially prepared by Protector Guan. She woke up early this morning and instructed this servant to have the kitchen make it for you.”
Peach Blossom froze, staring blankly at the bird’s nest porridge in her hands. A wave of emotion washed over her, and her nose tingled with sudden tears.
She had thought it was just an ordinary breakfast, never expecting Guan Fusha to go to such lengths for her. They had known each other for less than a week. Why was Guan Fusha being so kind to her?!
Peach Blossom was acutely aware that she was gradually developing feelings of dependence towards Guan Fusha. Having traveled back to ancient times, she was unfamiliar with the world and its ways. Not only had Guan Fusha taken her in and cared for her, but she had also saved her time and again. And then there was that expression on her face last night so gentle, how could Peach Blossom not be immersed in it?
“Junior Sister?”
Peach Blossom snapped out of her reverie and realized that Guan Fusha had returned at some point. Noticing the sandalwood box in her hand, she asked, “Senior Sister, what is this?”
Guan Fusha smiled mysteriously and placed the sandalwood box beside her. “Open it and see.”
Curious, Peach Blossom opened the box to find a golden book inside, with the words “Flying Dragon Sword Manual” elegantly inscribed on the cover.
She looked at Guan Fusha with confusion. “Senior Sister, this is…?”
“As you can see, the Flying Dragon Sword Manual.”
Peach Blossom was speechless. Of course, she could see it; she wasn’t blind!
“Why are you suddenly giving me this sword manual?” Peach Blossom asked directly.
“You’ve already become our master’s disciple, so of course you must learn martial arts. Besides, as the Left Protector of the prestigious Night God Sect, how could you not know any martial arts? Wouldn’t that be a laughingstock?” Guan Fusha replied with a laugh.
Peach Blossom thought about it and found the reasoning sound. Guan Fusha, her powerful protector, couldn’t be by her side 24/7. It would be better to learn a few moves to defend herself.
“I understand. Thank you for your guidance, Senior Sister.”
“Good that you understand.” Guan Fusha’s smile reached her eyes. “Your foot is injured, so you shouldn’t move around. This is the perfect time to memorize the moves in the sword manual.”
“All… all of it?” Peach Blossom stared at the manual, which was about as thick as a language textbook, and suddenly felt overwhelmed.
“Yes, all of it.” Guan Fusha remained calm and composed, as if she didn’t notice the sudden change in Peach Blossom’s expression.
My heart is suffering, but I won’t say it out loud!
Peach Blossom sighed inwardly. “…Understood. I will memorize this sword manual.”
Over the next few days, Peach Blossom spent her time recuperating while diligently memorizing the sword manual. Meanwhile, Guan Fusha was busy with sect affairs, leaving early and returning late every day. Knowing that the incident with the snake had left a shadow in Peach Blossom’s heart, Guan Fusha made sure to visit her every night, sometimes even staying over.
As they spent more time together, Peach Blossom grew accustomed to Guan Fusha’s busy schedule. Sometimes, when sleepiness overtook her and Guan Fusha still hadn’t returned, she would simply move to the inner side of the bed, leaving space for Guan Fusha so she wouldn’t have to find another place to sleep late at night.
Eventually, word of this somehow reached Qi Yong. He was quite critical of the matter. Although both were women and there were no moral issues of indecency involved, they were the Left and Right Protectors of the sect, and their statuses were distinct. It was inappropriate for them to be too close.
Qi Yong nagged Guan Fusha about this several times. Too preoccupied with sect affairs to pay him any mind, Guan Fusha ignored him. In response, he made a big deal out of it during a sect meeting, claiming that the Protectors should lead by example and set a good model for the disciples.
Yan Hong listened while rolling her eyes, her mind filled with a resounding “Oh, please.”
“Why didn’t you say this when you took your tenth concubine? Now you’re putting on this righteous act, pretending to be all high and mighty! Besides, they’re from the demon sect anyway. Why should they follow conventional rules?”
“Elder, your words are quite mistaken,” Yan Hong interrupted Qi Yong bluntly, showing no mercy as she exposed his past. “I recall you just recently took your tenth concubine, didn’t you? Come to think of it, I haven’t had the chance to congratulate you yet. At your age, you still managed to marry such a stunning young beauty.”
