- Chapter 6 - Are You Surprised to See Me?
The clock neared two in the afternoon. The 180,000 viewers in the main livestream room and the six remaining members of the Nurture House were all waiting in a state of high alert.
Xie Weishui bit his lip, speaking with a hint of unease. “I wonder if I will recognize the new members. I hope they are easy to get along with.”
“We will know them once they arrive. Do not worry, Senior,” Zhou Yang said, being the first to respond to Xie Weishui as usual. “Besides, you have such a good temperament, Senior. You will definitely get along with anyone.”
Fang Jin stood to the side with his arms crossed, watching the two of them coldly.
“Exactly, Shui Shui, do not worry about it,” the “best friend” character, Jiang Lele, added to comfort him.
Wei Xuan chimed in as well. “That is right. The new members will definitely like Shui Shui.”
“Pfft,” Gao Yuan could not help but laugh. “If you lot like being lapdogs, do not assume everyone else wants to be one too.”
As soon as he spoke, the faces of the four who had previously spoken turned dark simultaneously.
“I have realized that you are truly difficult to get along with,” Jiang Lele said with a pout. “We live under the same roof. Is there any need to be so sarcastic?”
Wei Xuan added, “Exactly. If you are so unhappy with us, why did you not leave and let Xu Su stay instead? His temper was much better than yours.”
Gao Yuan let out a cold snort. “It was precisely because his temper was too good that he was bullied to death by all of you.”
He actually wanted to leave as well, but the thought of the Nurture House becoming entirely Xie Weishui’s playground if he left made him feel uneasy. Furthermore, his presence guaranteed a certain amount of conflict, and conflict was exactly what the audience loved to watch. He also had a dedicated following, 70% of whom were anti-fans of Xie Weishui.
“You,” Zhou Yang scowled, preparing to join the verbal attack when the doorbell rang.
“Stop fighting, stop fighting,” Xie Weishui hurried to play the peacemaker. He poked Zhou Yang’s waist. “Go open the door, Junior.”
“Okay, I will listen to you, Senior.”
Zhou Yang immediately reverted to his obedient dog persona and trotted over to open the door. When the door opened, his smile froze on his face. At 185 centimeters, Zhou Yang usually towered over everyone else in the Nurture House. However, the person in front of him was actually half a head taller, appearing to be at least 193 centimeters. But it was not just the height that made him sense a crisis.

- “Holy crap, where did they source this guy from? I have never seen or heard of him before!”
- “The production team is so stingy for waiting until now to bring out such a high-quality guest.”
- “I used to think Zhou Yang was handsome, but standing next to this guy, he is completely overshadowed.”
- “The Junior’s visual points just dropped by 9,999.”
- “Wow! Congratulations to our Shui Shui for adding another husband to the collection!”
- “Do you really think your Shui Shui is that much of a heartthrob?”
The heartthrob Xie Weishui had already walked forward with a proactive smile the moment he saw Shen Xunye’s face. “Hello, my name is Xie Weishui. Which company are you from?”
“I am also from Starlight Entertainment,” Shen Xunye gave Zhou Yang a provocative look and stepped through the door, carrying his suitcase with one hand. “However, I am from a different department. I am a newcomer from the Film and Television Department.”
Gao Yuan realized this was a good opportunity to find an ally and stepped forward enthusiastically. “Has our company finally started pulling people from the Film Department?”
Shen Xunye nodded to him. “I am just here to kill some time.”
“You should not say that in front of the cameras,” Gao Yuan replied actively, handing him a bottle of water. “By the way, how tall are you?”
“196 centimeters,” Shen Xunye said, catching the bottle after tossing it into the air.
“Wow, that is so tall,” Jiang Lele said, sensing a new opportunity and crowding in. He looked at Shen Xunye with admiration. “We all grew up eating the same rice. How did you get so tall?”
Shen Xunye looked down at the top of Jiang Lele’s head. “Who knows?”
“Alright, stop crowding him,” Xie Weishui said, firmly reclaiming control of the situation. “We should show him to his room.”
Gao Yuan immediately raised his hand. “I will do it.”
“Fine, you do it,” Xie Weishui said. He was always very magnanimous toward Gao Yuan. He then turned back to Shen Xunye, giving instructions like the master of the house. “Organize your luggage first. Another new member will be arriving shortly. Once they are here, we will hold a proper welcome ceremony together.”
“Fine,” Shen Xunye agreed without any objection.
After Gao Yuan led Shen Xunye upstairs, Zhou Yang leaned in and spoke with a hint of jealousy. “You are always so enthusiastic toward newcomers, Senior.”
“Haha,” Xie Weishui gave a standard smile. “It is my responsibility, since I have been here the longest.”
Inwardly, Xie Weishui regretted his choices. If he had known the company had someone of this caliber, he never would have settled for someone like Zhou Yang.
Wei Xuan spoke up loudly, “Zhou Yang, do not be so possessive of your senior.”
Even Fang Jin, who usually played the role of a mute, spoke up. “Humph, so you treat everyone the same way.”
He figured that with that sentence, his “bromance” quota for the day was met.
“Fang Jin, do you really have to say that to me?” Xie Weishui looked as if he were about to cry.
Half an hour later, the doorbell rang again. Xie Weishui poked Zhou Yang once more to go open it. Zhou Yang looked over at Shen Xunye, who was sitting comfortably on the sofa with a plate of fresh fruit in front of him. He hesitated for a long while before finally heading to the door.
Since the production team intended to push them toward romantic pairings, the second guest would likely not be another person like Shen Xunye; otherwise, the “Alpha” positions in the house would reach a breaking point. Therefore, the newcomer was most likely a partner for the other members.
Xie Weishui was too controlling and even tried to design their dialogue in advance. Zhou Yang thought that while Xie Weishui was distracted by the new guest, he should secretly develop a different pairing for himself. The old members were already under Xie Weishui’s influence, so the best choice was the new member outside.
Pressing down on the handle, Zhou Yang adjusted his expression into a bright smile and pulled the door open. In the next second, his smile froze again. This time, the shock was total. Why had nobody told him that the new guest for the Nurture House was Chi Li?

“Oh my god! The heavenly beautiful guest I prayed for has actually arrived!”
“He is so beautiful.”
“Zhou Yang is completely stunned.”
“The Nurture House is finally bringing in the good stuff.”
“Zhou Yang,” Chi Li said, tilting his head with a smile. The curve of his lips was perfect, but his eyes were devoid of any warmth. “Are you surprised to see me?”
Zhou Yang’s mind was racing through several possibilities. “Actually, I have been looking forward to your arrival.”
He had reached a conclusion. The reason Chi Li appeared here was most likely because he wanted to get back together. Other than that, he could not think of any other reason.
