- Chapter 16 - Can This Be Broadcast?
Zhou Yang’s entire face twisted in pain. Cold sweat seeped from his forehead, and his lips turned as pale as paper.
“Chi Li,” he spoke with intermittent gasps for air. “You hit me so hard. Are you trying to murder your own husband?”
“I think I went too light on you,” Chi Li snorted coldly. He reached back to pull the dormitory door open. “I do not want to touch you. Crawl out yourself.”
“Eh?” Outside the door, Gao Yuan’s voice rose with a hint of doubt. “You have already handled it yourself?”
“It is handled.” Chi Li raised an eyebrow and looked outside.
Standing at the door were not only Gao Yuan but also Shen Xunye. Shen Xunye was wearing a set of dark gray pajamas with the collar slightly open, revealing a firm chest that looked like it would feel very good to the touch. This outfit made him look less sharp and more like a comfortable, domestic man.
At the very least, a male lead in an idol drama should look like this to satisfy the audience, Chi Li thought. A single pinky finger from this man could outshine the one crawling on the floor inside.
“I was afraid something might happen to you, so I asked Shen Xunye to come and help,” Gao Yuan offered as an explanation. It was not that he did not want to help personally, but with a physique that Zhou Yang could easily toss aside, he lacked the confidence to be useful and could only seek outside reinforcement.
“Close the door!” Having recovered a bit of strength, Zhou Yang glared at the doorway and gritted his teeth. “Are you really going to let me make a fool of myself in front of outsiders?”
“Outsiders?” Shen Xunye narrowed his eyes slightly, observing Zhou Yang inconspicuously.
“If you do not crawl out right now, I will use a megaphone to call everyone else over,” Chi Li warned. He leaned against the doorframe with his arms crossed, his cold voice issuing a final ultimatum.
“You,” Zhou Yang felt as though he might pass out from anger. Just how long was Chi Li going to play hard to get? His patience had limits.
He decided he should not argue while Chi Li was in a temper. There was plenty of time ahead to slowly repair their relationship. Once Zhou Yang convinced himself of this, he took a deep breath, braced himself with his arms, and managed to stand. He then staggered out of the room.
Both Shen Xunye and Gao Yuan watched with cold eyes. Neither of them intended to offer a hand.
“Chi Li, I am waiting,” Zhou Yang said, leaning against a wall for support as he panted. “I am waiting for the day you regret treating me like this.”
“I beg you to stop daydreaming, alright?” Chi Li rolled his eyes, making no effort to hide his contempt.
Zhou Yang panted heavily a few more times, glared at the three people present, and then turned to leave.
“He looks like a dog,” Shen Xunye remarked objectively as he watched him walk away. “A dog that only knows how to vent useless rage.”
Gao Yuan’s jaw dropped at Shen Xunye’s blunt words. At this distance, unless Zhou Yang were deaf, he would definitely be able to hear it.
Chi Li responded lazily, “The owner did not watch him well enough.”
Zhou Yang’s back stiffened, and he quickened his pace to leave the scene.
“Alright,” Chi Li said, stretching his arms. “You two should go back and rest.”
Gao Yuan waved at them first. “Then I will head back. I need to have a meeting with myself.” He needed to make a precise plan for his future and stop letting Xie Weishui lead him by the nose.
“Yes, go ahead.” Chi Li raised his hand and waved lazily. He then looked at the other person remaining. “I heard that as soon as you enter your dorm at night, you turn off all the cameras?”
“I do not turn them off,” Shen Xunye said, making a snapping motion with his hands. “I dismantle them.”
Chi Li was surprised. “Dismantle them?”
“I do not like having cameras in the room where I sleep,” Shen Xunye said casually. “Even if they are in a closed state while I am sleeping.”
Since this man dared to dismantle them, he must have communicated with the production team in advance. Chi Li merely offered a reminder. “Then your personal channel will lose many paying viewers.”
Audiences have a desire for voyeurism. If your figure only appears in public areas and you do not expose even a tiny bit of privacy, the so-called God’s perspective loses its meaning, and viewers lose interest.
“It does not matter.” Shen Xunye did not care about the small change from paying viewers. “It does not affect selling the bromance with you.”
“Fine, as long as it does not affect that.” A faint smile appeared on Chi Li’s face. “Thank you for being willing to cooperate.”
Shen Xunye looked at Chi Li with a scrutinizing gaze. Suddenly, he reached out and braced his hand against the wall beside Chi Li’s ear. Startled, Chi Li instinctively retreated until his back pressed against the cool wall. The distance between them vanished until they could feel each other’s breath.
Shen Xunye looked down at him with a hint of playfulness in his eyes. Chi Li blinked slowly, his tone calm. “What are you doing?”
The corners of Shen Xunye’s mouth curled up. “Practicing our fanservice.”
“I guessed as much,” Chi Li said with a smile. His fingertips quietly slipped under the hem of Shen Xunye’s pajama top. “I will practice too.”
His cool palm moved slowly against the firm waistline, and he could clearly feel the muscles tighten under his touch. Shen Xunye’s breathing suddenly grew heavy, and the veins on the back of his hand pressed against the wall began to bulge.
“It feels nice,” Chi Li whispered into his ear with a light laugh, his fingertips intentionally sliding across the lower abdomen.
Shen Xunye asked sincerely, “Can this be broadcast?”
“Of course it can.” Chi Li had watched all the viral videos from previous seasons of the Growth House. Clips of waist touching, back hugs, and bridal carries were everywhere. Compared to those, touching a waist was child’s play. Since they had decided to sell a pairing, they could not just let the audience use their imagination; they had to provide actual interactions.
“Then,” Shen Xunye said thoughtfully. He suddenly reached down to support Chi Li’s legs and lifted him entirely. “Can this be broadcast too?”
Chi Li instinctively wrapped his legs around Shen Xunye’s waist, his pajamas loosening slightly from the movement.
“As long as you do not move your waist around,” Chi Li said, breathing lightly after being suddenly lifted off the ground. “It should be broadcastable.”
“Since you put it that way, it would be a waste of this pose if I did not move a little.” Shen Xunye’s arms gave a sudden upward toss.
Chi Li let out a low gasp, wrapping his legs even tighter. “Shen Xunye!” He warned in a low voice. “Put me down immediately.”
“I did not actually move.” Shen Xunye held Chi Li’s thighs and pressed him against the wall. He tilted his head up toward that pale neck, his teeth lightly grazing the Adam’s apple. “Then what about this? Can this be broadcast?”
Chi Li tilted his head back to avoid the contact, his fingers sinking into Shen Xunye’s messy black hair. “This cannot be broadcast.”
Shen Xunye sounded disappointed. “That is a bit of a pity.”
His palms tightened slightly on Chi Li’s thighs, leaving faint red marks on the delicate skin.
“Put me down.” The hand gripping Shen Xunye’s hair tugged slightly. Chi Li repeated his demand with an expressionless face.
Shen Xunye could sense from his tone that if he did not let go now, he might receive the same treatment as Zhou Yang.
“Alright,” he said, bending down to let Chi Li land steadily. “We can discuss it slowly when we have the chance in the future.”
