Chapter 6: Hating Homosexuals the Most
Of course, Jinbao-er was also broad-minded.
In the future, he would just help him out with more running errands, picking up packages, and the like. It would be a way to repay him within his own capabilities.
Back when he first helped Zhao Yuheng, it was simply because that day at the airport, the other man had caught him and he was a major hottie. Driven by his “lecherous” heart, he had braced himself to give his last bit of pocket money to the stranger.
Naturally, he had also instinctively felt that such a person couldn’t be a scammer. As it turned out, he really wasn’t a scammer; he was a huge tycoon instead.
Being scammed would feel bad. Constantly receiving someone’s favors also felt a bit uneasy.
After feeling uneasy for exactly three seconds, Jinbao-er stopped thinking about it. Life is short; how could he bear to waste time feeling miserable?
“Heng-ge, it’s so good to have you.”
Jinbao-er looked at Zhao Yuheng, who was constantly smiling at him.
In this life, being brothers was already very good. If he ever became successful in the future, he would definitely never forget his Heng-ge.
…
At noon, when classes ended, the two of them rushed to the dining hall. Since it was peak dining hours, the place was packed.
They went straight to the second floor. Zhao Yuheng was about to ask Jinbao-er what he wanted to eat, only to see him run off to the budget meal window on the far left.
Zhao Yuheng didn’t go to the budget window; instead, he headed in another direction.
“Xiao Meimei, is that you?”
After getting his food and struggling to find a seat, Jinbao-er spotted his classmate and fellow Yunnan local, Xiao Meimei, sitting there eating quietly.
Xiao Meimei looked up at him, gave a faint response, and nodded. They had met at the “Hometown Association” gathering. Xiao Meimei wasn’t much of a talker and was a bit introverted.
Jinbao-er didn’t think much of it and quickly sat down. To prevent the atmosphere from getting too awkward, he kept looking for topics.
“Is the food you’re eating good?” “How come you eat so little?” “…”
Xiao Meimei responded sporadically with one-word answers.
“Jinbao-er, you ran all the way over here; I couldn’t find you.”
Suddenly, a large black shadow blocked Xiao Meimei’s view. Zhao Yuheng, carrying a massive dining tray, squeezed himself grandly next to the table.
The two seats became incredibly cramped because of his presence; his thigh was almost touching Jinbao-er’s leg.
Xiao Meimei looked up. A rugged, handsome face entered her vision. She didn’t dare look for long and quickly lowered her head.
“She’s also in our class, her name is Xiao Meimei,” Jinbao-er hurried to introduce her to Zhao Yuheng.
“Hello, I’m Zhao Yuheng,” he introduced himself warmly.
“Hello.” Xiao Meimei forced a small smile, greeted him, and lowered her head to continue eating.
Seeing she had nothing else to say, Zhao Yuheng didn’t mind. He quickly picked up an extra chicken drumstick from his tray and placed it on Jinbao-er’s plate. As his chopsticks reached over, his arm accidentally brushed against Jinbao-er’s chest, carrying a wave of heat.
“Why is it all vegetables? Not a single piece of meat!” Zhao Yuheng frowned, his tone full of disdain for the budget meal.
“There is! Look.” Jinbao-er wasn’t convinced. He poked through his tray several times and finally fished out a tiny bit of minced meat. He held it up in front of Zhao Yuheng.
Zhao Yuheng: “…”
“Hurry up and eat. Eat so you can grow some meat.” Zhao Yuheng stopped talking and began to shovel food into his mouth.
Only then did Jinbao-er notice that Zhao Yuheng’s rice was piled high like a mountain. Jinbao-er had ordered 200g of rice, but this guy had at least 400g or 500g. Plus, he had four different side dishes.
No wonder he was so tall and strong! It was a good thing Jinbao-er wasn’t born into Zhao Yuheng’s family they might not have been able to afford to feed him.
Thinking of this, Jinbao-er let out a giggle. Zhao Yuheng looked at him in confusion while chewing.
“What are you laughing at?”
“Laughing because even the way you eat is so handsome,” Jinbao-er said casually.
The confused look on Zhao Yuheng’s face suddenly turned into a smug grin.
“When is your Heng-ge not handsome?”
Ah!!!
When he said this, Zhao Yuheng’s mouth was still full of rice, his cheeks bulging, yet he suddenly leaned in close to Jinbao-er. Those deep eyes stared straight at him, and his lips curled into a roguish smile.
The warmth of his breath and the scent of the rice blew directly onto Jinbao-er’s face.
It was a direct hit to Jinbao-er’s heart!!
Underwear: mission “stay dry” failed!!
…
In the evening, Old First and Old Second came back with a bunch of barbecue skewers and a dozen beers. They said since Jinbao-er didn’t go out last time, they had to make up for it now.
Even Jinbao-er, who didn’t drink, had to brace himself and down a glass so as not to disappoint Old First’s enthusiasm. As a result, he ended up lying on his bed feeling dizzy.
The other three continued eating skewers and drinking beer.
“How is Old Fourth’s tolerance this bad? In the future, his father-in-law is going to drink him under the table in no time.” Old First, being from the Northeast, had a massive alcohol tolerance. Seeing Jinbao-er collapse after one glass, he wanted to laugh.
“Look at those thin arms and legs. Can he even find a girlfriend?” Old Second said, taking a bite of a mutton skewer.
“He’s just thin right now. In a few weeks, I’ll have him fed and plumped up,” Zhao Yuheng joined in for a toast and drained his glass. He drank so fast that a few drops of beer trickled down the corner of his mouth, slid over Adam’s apple, and finally disappeared into his black T-shirt.
Old First and Old Second exchanged a glance. From the moment they met, they felt the bond between Old Third and Old Fourth was different. Old Third seemed to take special care of Old Fourth. They had almost suspected the two were a couple. After all, Old Third’s “Big Alpha/Top” vibe was a bit obvious.
Hearing their thoughts, Zhao Yuheng burst out laughing.
“Stop joking. How is that possible? I hate homosexuals the most.”
Jinbao-er, lying on the bed, was actually only half-drunk. He couldn’t open his eyes, but his consciousness was clear. He faintly heard Zhao Yuheng’s words.
The moment he heard “hate homosexuals the most,” his heart felt exceptionally pained. And exceptionally terrified.
Terrified that the other would discover he was gay. Terrified that the other would loathe him.
Zhao Yuheng didn’t explain why he hated them so much, but he told them about what happened with Jinbao-er on the bus.
“True, society is quite cold these days. It’s rare for a stranger to be willing to lend you money,” Old First sighed. This was a big city with plenty of scammers. Back in the Northeast, that 50 yuan would be given without a second thought.
“Right? At the time I thought, if I ever see him again, I have to repay him double! And look, the chance came. We’re classmates. No matter what, I have to take good care of this brother of mine!”
Zhao Yuheng had also finished a couple of bottles; his face was now slightly flushed. As he spoke, he actually reached out with his large, beer-scented hand and slapped Jinbao-er’s thigh, giving it two heavy pats.
“This is my good brother. No one better try to bully him.”
Jinbao-er’s body went stiff. Feeling the heat and pressure from his thigh, his heart pounded wildly, but he dared not move a muscle.
The three of them actually finished the two dozen beers. The price they paid was oversleeping the next day.
Jinbao-er was the first to notice. He remembered setting an alarm, but when he checked his phone, he realized he’d forgotten to charge it and it had died. By the time he plugged it in and turned it on, it was already 9:00 AM.
“Get up, everyone! We’re late!!”
Today was the very first day of military training. And the Class Monitor had already called him several times.
Jinbao-er used to be late often in elementary school, but he had almost never been late in middle or high school. And now, he was late for military training.
Supposedly, their instructor was from a nearby military unit. And he was notoriously fierce.
