Help, My Buff Roommate is Begging to Touch my Abs - Chapter 40
Chapter 40: The Cousin Arrives
The next day, a document was suddenly posted in the class group chat.
Seeing it, Zhao Yuheng picked up Jin Bao’er’s phone and naturally unlocked it with the passcode to take care of it.
Jin Bao’er didn’t say anything; he figured Brother Heng wouldn’t do him any harm, so he just focused on listening to the lecture.
But soon, he remembered something.
He had set a photo of Brother Heng as his screensaver.
It was too late to stop him. His brain began to race, and his palms broke out in a sweat.
“Is my ugly photo while sleeping really that ugly? You even set it as your screensaver to look at every day?”
A deep, magnetic male voice reached his ears, carrying a hint of playfulness.
Jin Bao’er let out a long sigh of relief.
Thank goodness, this blockhead of his didn’t think in that direction.
“I just want to laugh every time I see it, so I want to look at it every day.”
“So you want to laugh every day?”
Jin Bao’er didn’t need to look to know that Brother Heng’s face had already darkened with haughty annoyance.
He didn’t know if he had changed it or not, but the phone was handed back to him shortly after.
Jin Bao’er looked at the screen; he hadn’t changed it. He asked, puzzled, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, listen to the lecture.”
After saying this, Zhao Yuheng lowered his head and started scrolling through videos.
Jin Bao’er didn’t pay too much attention and continued listening to the class.
After class, he discovered a message from the counselor saying there were two spots for the Tier 1 poverty scholarship.
He had been added to the list and was told to send over his bank card number immediately.
Jin Bao’er was both surprised and happy; he quickly sent the card number over.
He turned to Zhao Yuheng and said, “Brother Heng, Brother Heng! I qualified for the poverty scholarship again!”
Zhao Yuheng said with an exaggerated expression, “Your luck is that good?”
“Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.”
Jin Bao’er nodded his head frantically, overjoyed. Now he finally wouldn’t have to eat the discounted meals every day.
There were only a few dishes in those discounted meals, and he was so sick of eating them that he felt like throwing up.
Sending 5,000 to his aunt and keeping 5,000 for himself—just thinking about it made him feel wonderful.
Zhao Yuheng looked at his beaming face and couldn’t help but smile along with him.
Silly boy, if I’m not around in the future, what are you going to do if you get scammed?
It’s truly anxiety-inducing.
In the dormitory.
Zhao Yuheng, who was lying on Jin Bao’er’s bed, spoke up: “Nothing to do this afternoon? Keep me company while I play basketball.”
“Ah, I don’t know how to play.”
“I’m not asking you to play. There’s a basketball game this afternoon; just come and watch me play.”
Jin Bao’er: “…”
He didn’t even know how to play basketball, yet he still wanted him to watch him play. Can this straight guy stop being so ambiguous?
What kind of “good brothers” invite each other to watch them play basketball every single day?
“Are you going or not?”
Zhao Yuheng frowned as he looked at him, his eyes filled with an irresistible, overbearing strength.
Jin Bao’er swallowed the word “no” that was on the tip of his tongue.
Fine, I’ll go, if only for the sake of watching a muscular guy.
Just after he agreed, Jin Bao’er’s phone rang. It was his cousin, Liu Yu.
“Cousin, are you at school? I’m here to see you. Come out and pick me up.”
“Ah, how can you just show up out of the blue?”
“I told you a few days ago I was coming to see you, what do you mean ‘show up out of the blue’? I’m already at the school gate, I can’t get in. Come pick me up quickly.”
After speaking, the person on the other end hung up.
Jin Bao’er looked at his phone, then at Zhao Yuheng—he had just promised Brother Heng he would watch the basketball game…
“Your cousin?”
Zhao Yuheng asked.
“Yeah, my aunt’s son. I have to take him around the school, so maybe…”
“Does he play basketball?”
“I guess, but he’s a bit of a noob.”
“Then have him join us. We’ll play a game, then go get something to eat.”
“Wouldn’t that be too much trouble? You guys don’t even know each other.”
Jin Bao’er actually didn’t want his family to know about Zhao Yuheng, fearing his hidden little feelings would be exposed.
“Your cousin is my cousin. What’s wrong with getting to know each other?”
Jin Bao’er had no choice but to agree.
If you called him enthusiastic, he didn’t really care about girls hitting on him.
If you called him cold, he was actually quite attentive to his affairs.
Jin Bao’er brought Liu Yu inside.
Liu Yu was tall and thin, slightly taller than Jin Bao’er, and wore glasses, looking gentle and cultured.
If he hadn’t often seen him going out to play basketball in high school, Jin Bao’er wouldn’t even have known he could play.
“Cousin, why don’t you call Mom and the others? Mom often says you don’t want to talk to her.”
Liu Yu walked alongside Jin Bao’er, saying.
“I’ve been busy lately, no time.”
Jin Bao’er didn’t want to admit he just didn’t want to call.
“By the way, Cousin, you said your roommate was going to take me to play a basketball game. Is his skill any good? If he’s too much of a noob, I’m not playing with him.”
Liu Yu said.
Jin Bao’er looked him up and down: “Just don’t ask him to be your ‘Big Brother’ when the time comes.”
Liu Yu curled his lips after hearing this: “Alright, alright, I want to see exactly how much weight this roommate of yours really has.”
When he saw the roommate who “only had a certain amount of weight,” Liu Yu was stunned.
With this physique, he could play for the CBA, couldn’t he?
Zhao Yuheng was wearing a tight black jersey.
His broad chest and tight abs were vaguely visible, and his whole body exuded a very masculine aura.
“Little brother is here? Drink some water. We’re going to warm up; the game is about to start.”
Zhao Yuheng revealed a mouthful of white teeth and tossed a bottle of mineral water to Liu Yu.
Then, his powerful, large hand grabbed Liu Yu’s shoulder and pushed him forward.
Liu Yu was pushed along the whole way. Seeing this, Jin Bao’er could only follow behind.
Zhao Yuheng was the star player on their team, so adding one more person wasn’t a problem at all.
After playing a full-court game, Liu Yu was completely exhausted and collapsed: “Cousin, I can’t go on, I really can’t go on.”
This “Cousin” was addressed to Zhao Yuheng.
“Your little physique isn’t up to the task. Your cousin told me you’ve been playing basketball for years. Where’s this ‘greatness’ of yours?”
Hearing this, Liu Yu looked at Jin Bao’er and smiled awkwardly.
He only bragged in front of his cousin; if he actually had to show his skills, the truth would come out.
“Then you rest, grab your own water.”
Zhao Yuheng pointed to a box of water nearby; it was one he had asked people to bring over.
“Alright, Brother Heng, go play.”
Liu Yu waved his hand quickly.
Zhao Yuheng smiled, wiped the sweat off his brow, and returned to the court to steal the ball.
Watching the man weave through the court, sweat sliding down his bronze-colored skin, each muscle tensed with every movement.
Liu Yu kept clicking his tongue: “These muscles must have been trained for years. I don’t know when I’ll ever be able to train like that.”
“With that little physique of yours, you couldn’t even keep it up for a day, and you still want to train?”
Jin Bao’er also took a sip of water, but his eyes were uncontrollably glued to Zhao Yuheng.
Liu Yu turned his head and stared at him fiercely: “Cousin, how can you say that? Don’t look down on people. I just don’t have the money for a gym.”
“Do push-ups cost money? Does the school’s horizontal bar cost money? Does the playground cost money?”
Liu Yu: “…”
His cousin’s mouth was getting sharper and sharper; he was becoming more and more unable to argue back.
When they were little, he could still bully him a bit, but now he didn’t even dare to talk back, or else his allowance would be gone.
“Cousin, Brother Heng is actually pretty good to you, huh? We’re all drinking mineral water, but you’re the only one drinking orange juice.”
Liu Yu had just seen the only bottle of orange juice on the court and thought it was brought for him, but Zhao Yuheng had tossed it directly to Jin Bao’er.
Jin Bao’er felt awkward, and his earlobes turned slightly hot: “I told him I wanted orange juice.”
“Oh.”
Liu Yu responded, not knowing if he believed it or not, but a flicker of realization flashed across his eyes.
Jin Bao’er pretended to be serious as he continued to watch the court, but his heart was beating half a beat faster for no reason.
