Chapter 23: Helping Me Vent My Anger
Just as Hu Xiaowen fell into a disadvantageous position, Jin Bao’er pushed the door open and entered.
Seeing his best friend being strangled by the neck, he clenched his fist and threw a punch toward Wang Meng.
Wang Meng let go of his hand in pain.
Jin Bao’er quickly pulled Hu Xiaowen to his side to check the situation.
Just then, Wang Meng snapped back to his senses and threw a punch right into Jin Bao’er’s face.
“Ah!!”
Jin Bao’er’s entire body tilted to the side, and his head slammed hard against the iron support of the bed frame next to him!
Then, he sat on the ground in extreme pain!
Hu Xiaowen quickly ran over to check Jin Bao’er’s injury.
Only then did Wang Meng clear his head, realizing he had actually stunned the person with a blow!
“All of you, get the fuck out! If you dare to make me angry again, I’ll beat you to death!”
After Wang Meng finished speaking, he spat on the ground before striding away.
Hu Xiaowen ignored him, quickly helping Jin Bao’er up to take him to the hospital.
…
This ordeal lasted until 9:00 PM; by the time they returned to school, it was nearly 10:00 PM, and the library was out of the question.
“Jin Bao’er, I’m sorry.”
Hu Xiaowen looked at the bandage on Jin Bao’er’s forehead, feeling very upset.
Damn that Wang Meng!
Motherfucker, peeking at people’s things and then hitting them!
No, this dormitory must be changed, it must be changed!
After sending Jin Bao’er back to his dorm, he quickly called the teacher, saying he had to change dorms tonight, or he would be beaten to death there.
Originally, the counselor found it troublesome and didn’t process it, trying to persuade him otherwise, until Hu Xiaowen said he was about to be killed, needed to go to the hospital, and was going to call the police.
Only then did the counselor quickly arrange a new dormitory for him on the first floor.
Hu Xiaowen moved his things relentlessly within an hour; he didn’t see Wang Meng before he finished moving.
He felt relieved in his heart; at least he shouldn’t run into him in the future.
As for making Wang Meng pay the price, he couldn’t think of a way for the time being.
Wang Meng had also been hit a few times by the two of them; at the teacher’s or counselor’s office, it would at most be mutual criticism.
If they really calculated medical expenses, both sides were about even, which was why he felt guilty toward Jin Bao’er, blaming himself for being useless and never protecting his good friend well.
…
On the other side, Jin Bao’er returned to the dormitory cautiously. Finding that Zhao Yuheng was not there, he felt a strange sense of relief.
He had an illusion that if Zhao Yuheng saw the wound on his head, he would definitely keep questioning him.
When that time came, no matter what happened, it wouldn’t be something he could accept.
The eldest and the second were buried in their games and didn’t notice Jin Bao’er, who had his head down and was holding his forehead.
The fact that they didn’t ask actually made Jin Bao’er feel more relaxed, so he quickly finished washing up and lay down on his bed.
Near 12:00 AM, Jin Bao’er was woken up by the urge to urinate. He fumbled in the dark to go to the toilet and then ran hurriedly back toward the dormitory.
To his surprise, just as he reached the door, he collided with a “meat wall.”
“Ah!!”
Hurting, Jin Bao’er quickly retreated two steps, his hand pressing tightly against the wound on his forehead. His line of sight happened to land on the other’s lower abdominal area.
Today, the other person was wearing a pair of grey mid-thigh shorts; the thick leg hair was exceptionally prominent, and other parts were also unusually familiar!
“What happened to your head?”
A familiar low-pitched voice rang out abruptly, carrying a trace of undetectable tension.
Jin Bao’er thought “oh no” and subconsciously wanted to shrink back, wanting to hide the wound.
“I’m asking you, what happened to your head?”
Zhao Yuheng’s voice suddenly increased by a level, no longer possessing his usual nonchalance.
Instead, it carried a suppressed rage that made Jin Bao’er’s eardrums buzz and his scalp tingle.
“Speak, who did it!!”
The corridor lights stayed on day and night.
They clearly illuminated the red and swollen mark on Jin Bao’er’s left cheek, which felt like a slap across Zhao Yuheng’s own face.
Jin Bao’er could make an excuse saying he accidentally bumped his forehead, but the swelling on his cheek was clearly man-made.
This voice was terrifyingly loud, as if he were trying his best to restrain something.
Jin Bao’er was startled by his fierce and malevolent appearance.
But mostly, it was panic. He subconsciously blurted out: “Wang Meng.”
“Which dormitory?”
Zhao Yuheng’s gaze darkened instantly, like the calm before a storm.
“Brother Heng, don’t…”
Jin Bao’er grew anxious and tried to pull him back.
“Which dormitory?” Zhao Yuheng didn’t give him a chance at all; his gaze was as cold as ice.
“2323.”
With Zhao Yuheng’s personality, he wouldn’t rush down and beat Wang Meng up again, would he?
If university students fight, they can be expelled if it’s serious.
His relationship with Brother Heng was already like this; he absolutely couldn’t let Brother Heng be expelled for him, which would ruin Zhao Yuheng.
“Brother Heng, it’s fine, really it’s fine. It’s just a superficial injury, you don’t need to bother, go back and sleep.”
Jin Bao’er refused incoherently, reaching out to pull Zhao Yuheng’s arm, but he was violently brushed off.
“Shut the fuck up.”
Zhao Yuheng glared at him fiercely; in that gaze, there was anger, heartache, and a frustrated “wishing-iron-could-become-steel” irritability.
“Beaten like this and it’s ‘fine’? Are you dim-witted or a coward?”
After scolding him, he didn’t look at Jin Bao’er again. He turned back and slammed hard on the dormitory door, directly waking the eldest and the second.
“Old Fourth was beaten, didn’t you see?”
Zhao Yuheng’s voice was very loud, carrying an unquestionable ruthlessness that dragged the two straight out of their dreams.
“What??”
The eldest was the first to sit up, followed by the second, who opened his eyes blearily and also sat up upon hearing those words.
“I said Old Fourth was beaten, his face is even swollen.”
Only then were the two completely awake, jumping off their beds abruptly.
“Who did it? Who dares to bully our Snail Young Master!!”
As they spoke, they pulled on their shorts and walked out aggressively.
When they saw the wound on Jin Bao’er’s forehead wrapped in medical cotton and his flushed red cheek, they were secretly shocked.
They knew Jin Bao’er had come back today, but in these several hours, they actually hadn’t noticed!
They felt both guilty and hateful.
“Wang Meng from 2323!!”
“That kid Wang Meng!!”
The eldest was even more agitated than Zhao Yuheng, grabbing a broom and running downstairs; Zhao Yuheng and the second followed.
This made Jin Bao’er, who was left stunned in place, extremely worried.
Oh my god, how did this turn into a group fight?!!
He didn’t have time to think much and quickly followed them down.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!!”
The door to 2323 was suddenly pounded.
“Who is it?”
An impatient voice came from inside, and then the door was opened.
The eldest rushed in blindly. Seeing it wasn’t Wang Meng, he shoved the person aside.
“Wang Meng, get the fuck out here! You dare to hit my roommate, see if I don’t beat you to death!!”
Wang Meng, who was still lying on the bed, only then realized someone had come looking for trouble. He immediately wanted to curse, but seeing three or four people standing at the door, he instantly lost his fire.
His two roommates weren’t on good terms with him either; they certainly wouldn’t help at this time.
Seeing Wang Meng still lying on the bed, the eldest surged forward and dragged him off the bed.
“Speak, on what grounds did you hit my roommate!!”
Wang Meng, being strangled by the eldest, also began to struggle.
Failing to push him off once, he was about to clench his fist and fight with the eldest.
Who would have thought that before he could act, Zhao Yuheng, who had been standing at the door watching coldly, suddenly moved.
He had no extra words, and even his expression didn’t change at all except for those peach-blossom eyes that usually looked lazy.
At this moment, they were filled with terrifying hostility, like knives dipped in ice, staring deathly at Wang Meng as if looking at a dead man.
Zhao Yuheng’s figure flashed, fast as a gust of wind, closing the distance in an instant.
“Ah!!”
Wang Meng only felt a blur before his eyes. Before he could see what was happening, his abdomen suffered a heavy blow.
That force was astonishingly large, as if an iron plate had slammed over, instantly draining all his strength.
Immediately after, Zhao Yuheng grabbed Wang Meng’s swinging wrist, his fingers accurately locking onto the joint, and gave it a violent outward twist!
There was a crisp “crack,” accompanied by Wang Meng’s pig-slaughtering scream.
His whole person was thrown off balance by the massive force, slamming hard against the table next to him.
“Bang!!”
With a loud crash, the books, water cups, and desk lamps on the table were all flipped onto the floor with a clatter.
The sound of shattering glass was exceptionally piercing in the quiet night.
