- He Lost Control with Jealousy — What Happened to Being Untouchable?
- Chapter 86 - You're Amazing
As Sang Wan stepped out of the doctor’s office, the floor beneath her feet felt soft and fluffy, as if she were walking on clouds.
The three of them remained silent until they got into the car and closed the door, at which point they seemed to awaken from a dream, collectively gasping in surprise.
“Oh my God…”
Su Mo was the first to react. She suddenly lunged forward, wrapping her arms around Sang Wan and planting a loud kiss on her exquisitely beautiful face.
“Wanwan, you’re just too amazing!”
Her voice was a mix of shock, joy, and a whole lot of… admiration.
Qi Qi, sitting in the passenger seat, was equally excited, her face flushed and her voice trembling.
“Sister Wan, I… I have to hurry home and tell my mom. If she finds out you’re having twins, she definitely won’t be able to sleep tonight.”
Sang Wan couldn’t help but smile broadly, her eyes sparkling with joy as if filled with starlight, almost overflowing.
She pretended to be modest, clearing her throat and gently biting her lip.
“Low-key, low-key.”
“Even though I’m amazing, I still need to be low-key.”
The playful tone and the barely concealed pride made Su Mo roll her eyes.
“Low-key my foot!”
Su Mo waved her hand dismissively, wearing an expression that said “stop pretending.”
“This is a huge piece of good news! Low-key? Come on, let’s call Youyou and go to the Imperial Club for a feast, a real celebration.”
Qi Qi immediately nodded in agreement, clenching her little fist.
“Right, we need to celebrate properly! We must reward Sister Wan for working hard and having babies.”
Sang Wan: “…”
Su Mo couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “With Qi Qi saying that, you’re definitely this year’s top model worker.”
Just as the car started, Su Mo’s gaze inadvertently swept outside the window, and suddenly paused.
“Hey? Wanwan, isn’t Youyou right there? I’ll call her.”
Sang Wan followed her gaze and indeed saw Qu You. The man in front of her looked somewhat familiar; they were talking, and Qu You seemed a bit reserved.
Su Mo rolled down the car window, just about to call out, when the man in front turned and opened the car door for her.
The tall and slender man was none other than Song Ze.
Qu You hesitated as she stood there, and Song Ze said something to her before slightly bowing and getting into the car.
Then, Song Ze walked around to the driver’s seat, started the car, and merged into the traffic.
“Why did Youyou get into Dr. Song’s car?” Su Mo’s gossip radar was instantly activated.
Sang Wan looked at the departing Cayenne and didn’t think much of it. “Song Ze is the chief doctor of this hospital, and Qu You is interning here. It’s normal for them to know each other.”
She recalled something and added, “Besides, didn’t Lu Tingzhou call them both over at the film city last time?”
Su Mo nodded, finding it reasonable, but then raised an eyebrow in confusion. “But why does Youyou seem so nervous? She looks a bit scared of Song Ze.”
At that moment, Qi Qi, who was driving, chimed in, “That day at the film city, I think I heard Youyou call him ‘Teacher Song.’”
“Maybe Dr. Song is her supervisor at the hospital, or he has more experience. Students are usually like that when they see their teachers.”
As soon as Qi Qi finished speaking, Sang Wan and Su Mo exchanged glances.
In that moment, a forgotten secret was dredged up once more.
Qu You had once mentioned that she had a crush on one of her teachers.
A knowing look flashed in both their eyes, and they shared a perfect understanding.
Sang Wan made a quick decision, pulling out her phone as her slender fingers danced swiftly across the screen.
“Let’s go to Imperial Club. I’ve called Youyou, we’ll have dinner together.”
…
Imperial Club, VIP private room.
The delicate bone china tableware glowed softly under the warm yellow lighting.
Qu You sat between Sang Wan and Su Mo, feeling as though she were sitting on pins and needles.
The dishes had already been served, but none of them had touched their chopsticks.
Instead, they were staring at her, their gazes sharp, like interrogators scrutinizing a suspect.
She had already been subjected to over a dozen rounds of visual crossfire from the two “interrogators” flanking her.
Qi Qi sat across from them, lips curved in amusement. Though she didn’t know what was going on, the scene was undeniably funny.
“Youyou…”
Su Mo struck first, resting her chin on one hand as she smiled meaningfully.
“How’s your internship going lately? That mentor of yours, is he treating you well?”
Qu You froze for a moment. Though she didn’t understand why Su Mo suddenly cared about her affairs, she answered honestly.
“It’s going well. He… is also very good.”
Sang Wan picked up the conversation leisurely, elegantly pouring Qu You a glass of juice before asking casually, “What’s your mentor’s surname? It’s been so long, and we still don’t even know the name of the person you’ve been pining for.”
Qu You’s face warmed. Her secret, unspoken crush felt so exposed, as if even mentioning a surname would give him away.
“What’s gotten into you two? Why the sudden interest in this?”
Su Mo pressed her lips together. “After so many years as sisters, shouldn’t we care about you?”
Sang Wan added, “We just think that if you’ve been secretly in love with someone for this long, you should take a step forward if there’s a chance. If not, it’s better to move on sooner rather than later. There are plenty of good men around us, no need to cling to just one tree.”
Qi Qi finally understood, Qu You’s crush might very well be Dr. Song.
“Don’t worry about me. I know what I’m doing.”
She took a sip of her drink, trying to appear less tense.
Seeing that Qu You still wasn’t planning to confess, Sang Wan exchanged a glance with Su Mo.
Su Mo immediately understood, raising an eyebrow with a smirk. “We went to your hospital this afternoon and saw you getting into a black Cayenne.”
Qu You’s face flushed instantly, as if she’d been caught red-handed.
“Cough!”
The juice she had just swallowed caught in her throat, making her cough uncomfortably.
“That mentor you’ve been crushing on…” Su Mo pressed forward, leaning in with burning intensity in her beautiful eyes. “Was that his car?”
Sang Wan grinned mischievously. “Momo, don’t jump to conclusions. I think the person looked like Dr. Song.”
Qi Qi, meanwhile, had started helping herself to the dishes, eating small bites with an increasingly amused smile.
“Oh, right, it was Dr. Song. I…” Qu You lowered her head, her voice barely above a whisper. “He was just heading this way, so he gave me a ride.”
“Really?” Su Mo glanced at Sang Wan, barely suppressing a laugh. “But we hadn’t even decided to come here for dinner at that point. Dr. Song just happened to be going this way?”
“Youyou, since when did you develop the ability to predict the future?”
Qu You gritted her teeth and set down her glass. “Just say what you want to say directly.”
Sang Wan chuckled when she saw her frustration. “Alright, alright, we’ll stop teasing you. There’s nothing embarrassing about liking someone, why hide it so much? We’re not going to laugh at you.”
“Exactly. Wanwan and Lu Tingzhou’s relationship, she shared it with us openly. Liking someone isn’t something to be ashamed of.”
Su Mo nodded emphatically beside her, encouraging Qu You.
“It’s different. How can I compare to Wanwan? She’s beautiful, a big celebrity, and comes from a good family. What do I have?”
Sang Wan knew she was deeply insecure, her poor family background, a gambling-addicted father, and a parasitic stepmother made her feel unworthy of Song Ze.
“Youyou, you’re wonderful, truly outstanding. Highly educated, beautiful, don’t let your family situation define you.”
“I…”
Qu You was moved by Sang Wan’s words. She lifted her head, her eyes reddening.
Taking a deep breath, as if steeling herself for a monumental decision, she finally admitted.
“Yes!”
“The person I like is Song Ze.”
Silence fell over the private room.
For her, confessing her feelings was no small feat.
Qu You nervously rubbed the cup in her hands, smiling bitterly. “From the moment I attended his first lecture, I liked him.”
“But I also know the gap between us is huge. Not only do many female students at school like him, even teachers his age are interested. And I’ve heard he’s always had someone in his heart, which is why he’s stayed single all these years.”
She exhaled slowly, as if unburdening a long-held secret, suddenly feeling lighter.
“I never expected anything. Just watching him from afar is enough for me. So please, no more curiosity or teasing.”
At that moment, a figure froze at the doorway of the private room.
Shen Yubai stood there, holding a bottle of red wine.
He had been invited by Song Ze, who’d heard Sang Wan and the others were here and wanted to say hello.
But just as he reached the door, he overheard this heartfelt confession of unrequited love.
He was genuinely moved. A girl, secretly in love with her teacher, quietly cherishing her feelings without interference, it was rare.
He raised an eyebrow and left without disturbing them, the emotion in his eyes quickly replaced by sheer amusement.
Song Ze… that blockhead?
Such a wonderful girl right under his nose, and he doesn’t even realize it.
Forget delivering the wine.
This was too good not to share.
Shen Yubai tiptoed away, a mischievous grin plastered across his face.
Returning to his own private room, he found Song Ze leisurely eating. Noticing Shen Yubai empty-handed, Song Ze frowned.
“Where are they? Didn’t you see them?”
Shen Yubai sat down, pulling out his phone and typing rapidly before sending a message.
[Brother Lu, get to Imperial Club ASAP. Your wife’s here getting drunk.]
After sending it, he looked up at the oblivious Song Ze with a knowing smirk.
“I saw them. They were busy.”
Pouring himself some tea, he took a sip and drawled, “Busy pouring their hearts out, confessing who they like one by one.”
Song Ze paused mid-bite, his eyes flickering with something unreadable.
“Hey, any students at your school have a crush on you? A handsome guy like you must have plenty of admirers, right?”
Song Ze looked baffled. “How would I know?”
Shen Yubai teased, “So all these years, there’s been no one you’ve fancied?”
Song Ze shot him a sidelong glance. “Why should I even talk to you about this? What do you know about liking someone?”
Shen Yubai gritted his teeth. “Oh, you’re the expert, aren’t you? Who could possibly know more than you?”
After the outburst, Shen Yubai flashed a shameless grin. “Hey, that Qu You seems pretty great, nice looks, gives off a really innocent vibe. Why don’t you introduce me?”
“Not a chance.”
Song Ze suddenly flared up. “Stay away from her.”
“Yours?” Shen Yubai suppressed the storm inside him and fired back. “Since when is she yours?”
