Good Night, Brother! - chapter 7.3
“Why not? Yi Hyeon, where are your bag and clothes? Hurry up…”
At that moment, Yi Hyeon’s large hand covered Eunhyun’s, which was gripping the metal cabinet handle. With a screech and a bang, the cabinet closed as the metal hinges clicked into place.
Eunhyun turned around with a puzzled expression, meeting the pitch-black eyes of his younger sibling, which glinted quietly in the dim light. Before Eunhyeon could process what was happening, Yi Hyeon pushed him onto the bed nearby. Thud. The soft bounce of the mattress registered as Eunhyeon lay there, stunned, looking up at his younger sibling with a bewildered expression.
“Yi Hyeon… What are you doing?”
“Are you still asking because you don’t know?”
Yi Hyeon’s voice carried a tone that was calm yet unnervingly direct. Laughing softly, he knelt on the bed beside Eunhyeon and, with deliberate care, lifted his brother’s ankle to remove his sneakers one by one.
“You’re not pretending to be drunk, are you?” Eunhyeon asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.
The smell of alcohol wafting from Yi Hyeon was unmistakable, his reddened cheeks accentuated by makeup. Yet Eunhyeon couldn’t reconcile the composed tone with the image of someone completely intoxicated.
“Hyung,” Yi Hyeon began, his voice low, “I wanted to get drunk too, but what can I do if my body processes alcohol so well?”
“…”
“I’m curious too—what it feels like to really lose control…”
Yi Hyeon, now straddling Eunhyeon’s thighs, slid a cool hand under his brother’s T-shirt. His fingers, pointed and deliberate, moved from Eunhyeon’s lower abdomen to his chest, causing him to shudder. Startled, Eunhyeon grabbed his younger brother’s wrist.
“Huh, that’s cold…!” he protested. “What are you going to do if someone comes in?”
“Who’s going to come to the study room during the festival, Hyung? Can’t you hear the music outside? Pink Choco just arrived. Everyone’s over there.”
“…”
“No matter how much noise you make, no one will hear you.” Yi Hyeon leaned in closer, his voice soft and teasing. “So feel free to make as much dirty noise as you want.”
Yi Hyeon, exuding an intoxicating allure like a hazy mist, planted a loud kiss on Eunhyeon’s cheek. His long hair brushed against Eunhyeon’s ear, tickling him slightly. The scent of floral perfume mingled with the smell of alcohol and Yi Hyeon’s natural pheromones, clouding Eunhyeon’s senses and making his head spin.
Ah, I’m going crazy. Even a light kiss, the kind you’d give to a child, was already eliciting a reaction in Eunhyeon’s lower body. But here… Eunhyeon clung desperately to the last thread of reason about to snap and shouted:
“…Ah… no, this is really not it!”
Eunhyeon pushed Yi Hyeon’s face away with both hands as his younger sibling continued sucking on his ear, ignoring his protests.
“Ugh, can’t you stop with the pheromones already?”
“Are you serious?”
“Yes.”
“I see…”
Yi Hyeon’s disappointed tone matched the way his long eyelashes, made even more glamorous with mascara, lowered like a doll’s. In the dim lighting, it had been hard to notice earlier, but now Eunhyeon could see the shimmer of large and small glitter dusted over Yi Hyeon’s eyelids. Every time he blinked, his eyes sparkled like jewels, capturing Eunhyeon’s attention despite himself.
His bright red lips, accentuated against his almost translucent white skin, parted into a pout. The sight looked as slow as a video played in slow motion.
Wow… Eunhyeon finally understood what people meant by the word “fascinating” after 25 years of life. Though he tried to suppress his reaction, inwardly, he was completely mesmerized.
“It was my wish…” Yi Hyeon murmured.
“Huh? What? What did you say?”
Eunhyeon, lost in his thoughts, barely registered the words.
“My dream was to have sex with you in the lab.”
The tone was so serious and earnest that the absurdity of the statement took a moment to hit. Eunhyun snapped back to reality, blinking in disbelief.
“Why on earth is that your wish?”
“Because… I think if I do, I’ll be able to survive college life. I think I can endure the next four years…”
“Don’t give me that nonsense.” Eunhyeon glared, tugging at the remains of his resolve. “Take your hands off me!”
“Ouch!”
Eunhyun slapped Yi Hyeon’s hand away and pulled down the hem of his T-shirt, which had ridden up to his chest. His pulse raced. He had almost let himself get dragged into it again.
Still undeterred, Yi Hyeon’s eyes gleamed with a mixture of mischief and determination.
“Don’t be like that… okay?” he said, tilting his head slightly. “I’ll grant you one wish later too.”
“A wish?”
“Yeah.”
Suddenly, thoughts like winning a lottery jackpot that had rolled over ten times or the stocks Eunhyeon had bought skyrocketing tenfold in a month floated through his mind like fleeting clouds before dissipating. His eyes, which had momentarily lit up at the mention of a “wish,” darkened again.
“I don’t have anything like that,” he said flatly.
Yi Hyeon’s eyes, filled with anticipation, dimmed at Eunhyun’s response. With a slight tilt of his head, Yi Hyeon brushed his hair back, exposing his elegant neckline while adopting a mournful expression. The gesture, though clearly intentional, was so striking it could have come off as contemptible—but instead, it gave the impression of a beauty with a tragic story. Eunhyeon’s eyes narrowed suspiciously.
“Then… can we at least kiss here before we leave? Just let me have a memory.”
“…”
“Not even a kiss? Is that too much to ask?”
Yi Hyeon’s delicate, porcelain-doll-like eyes blinked, staring at Eunhyun with sorrowful intensity. The large, dark pupils reflected Eunhyun’s own face back at him, amplifying the effect of Yi Hyeon’s uniquely disarming gaze.
