Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 90
Lin Hao tidied up the lunchboxes and exited the room. As he walked out, he carefully observed his surroundings, searching for an opportunity.
Ever since he was brought here, his wallet and phone had been confiscated. Surveillance was constant, and his movements were restricted. Lin Hao realized that, like Qiao Fei, he was also “tied” to this godforsaken place—wherever it was.
He threw away the trash and sat on a small stool near the room, leaning his head against the wall and pretending to nap. In truth, his mind was racing, thinking of ways to escape with Qiao Fei. The house wasn’t large—just one inner room. The furnishings were old, and there was a musty smell in the air.
At certain fixed hours each day, noise would erupt outside—noisy, bustling voices that not even the thick curtains, drawn to block out natural light, could fully muffle. Based on all this, Lin Hao surmised that they were probably in a place like Chengchong Village or perhaps a wholesale market.
Logically, if there were that many people outside, someone should be able to notice him and Fei’er, and they could be rescued. That would simplify things—he just needed to attract attention. However, those two goons made everything difficult. Brute force wouldn’t work; his only hope lay in outsmarting them.
The two men operated on a strict schedule. One went out to collect meals while the other stayed behind. That moment—when only one remained—was when their defenses were weakest. But the one left behind was a tough-looking thug brought by that Japanese guy, not to be underestimated. So, what could he do?
Finally, Lin Hao came up with a plan. He took a bottle of mineral water and hid it up his sleeve. Each time he went to the bathroom, he’d pour out half and refill it using water from the toilet tank, then bring it back and place it among the others. He repeated this for two days, gradually swapping out all the bottled water they’d purchased. The two thugs drank the tampered water for two days—and finally, the effects started showing.
That day, the two men—taking turns guarding the room—had already made multiple rushed trips to the bathroom. Lin Hao pretended to suffer from the same stomach issues, groaning and spending long periods in the bathroom each time. The man outside grew impatient. No one could endure such a constant need to relieve themselves.
As Lin Hao watched the two men become visibly weakened and pale, he volunteered to go buy medicine. One of the thugs refused, but he had no choice—he dragged himself outside, leaving the other behind. Just then, the remaining man felt the urge again. Lin Hao knew this was his moment.
The thugs had long since let their guard down from all the chaos. The remaining man bolted to the bathroom, leaving his phone on the table. As soon as he shut the door, Lin Hao grabbed the phone and rushed over to Qiao Fei, tearing the tape from her mouth and urgently handing her the device.
“I don’t know Jing Xuan’s number!” he said.
“Don’t panic. It’s 139XXXXXXXX.”
Lin Hao quickly typed out a message and sent it to Jing Xuan. At last, they both let out a breath of relief.
But their joy came too soon. Out of the corner of her eye, Qiao Fei spotted a figure by the door. Her expression turned to horror.
“Lin Hao! Watch out!”

Ever since rejecting Jing Xuan’s marriage proposal and watching her leave in anger, Lan Qing hadn’t seen her again. Every call she made went straight to voicemail. Lan Qing was heartbroken. Had she lost this gamble? Or worse—had Jing Xuan fallen into despair?
But Jing Xuan hadn’t gone anywhere far. After Qiao Fei moved out, she’d hidden away in her apartment, hugging a bottle of liquor and drinking heavily. Jing Xuan had never been a strong drinker. She would pass out drunk, wake up, and then start drinking again. Days passed in a hazy cycle of intoxication.
Every call and text from Lan Qing, she saw. Each time the ringtone sounded, Lan Qing’s beautiful face would light up her screen—then disappear. Her tearful voice would leave yet another message in the voicemail box. Jing Xuan just stared blankly at her phone… and everything else.
Suddenly, a notification chimed. A text message from an unknown number.

“Lin Hao! Watch out!!”
Thanks to Qiao Fei’s warning, Lin Hao narrowly dodged the blow. He hadn’t even regained his footing when he saw shadows approaching from outside the room—more people were coming. Nishikawa Heiji and
Jing Cheng stood at the doorway.
“Xiao Hao, what are you doing?” Jing Cheng motioned for the thug to stand down as he stepped into the room and pulled up a chair, sitting down. His sharp, hawk-like eyes locked onto Lin Hao.
“Big Brother, I—I changed my mind. Please let us go. I promise we won’t go to the police. I’m begging you!” Lin Hao was already trembling with fear as he walked over to plead.
Jing Cheng extended a hand and opened his palm. “Give it.”
Lin Hao obediently handed over the phone.
“Big Brother, please let us go! I’ll even kneel for you!” Lin Hao collapsed to the floor in front of Jing Cheng, pleading.
Jing Cheng looked at him with contempt. He opened the sent messages folder. “Lin Hao, I was happy when you called me ‘Big Brother.’ But I never accepted you as my little brother. That’s a shame. And now you’ve betrayed me… I can’t forgive that.”
“Big Brother! Please! I’ll never do it again. I swear!”
Lin Hao had never faced anything like this before. He broke down in tears and snot, which only made Jing Cheng more annoyed.
Seeing that Jing Cheng wasn’t moved, Lin Hao stopped sobbing. He lunged suddenly, tackling Jing Cheng to the ground and grabbing at his throat.
—Bang!—
Nishikawa Heiji drew his gun and fired. The bullet pierced Lin Hao’s head, splattering blood and brain matter across the floor. His eyes bulged in fury even in death—a horrifying sight.
“Ah!” Qiao Fei screamed, only to have her mouth clamped shut by someone nearby.
Jing Cheng got up, straightened his clothes, and walked over to her, raising the phone in his hand.
“You’re not so obedient either, little lady. But don’t worry—I’m not going to kill you. Yet. So… who did you send that message to? A boyfriend? Oh wait… maybe a girlfriend? I wonder if they got it. I’ll help you find out.”
He pressed redial.

Jing Xuan opened the new message. It was just another promo for a store sale. She laughed bitterly and tossed her phone aside. The notification sound chimed again, but she ignored it.
Maybe it was the alcohol. Her head spun, and she drifted into a restless sleep, frequently startled awake by uneasy dreams.
Eventually, she grabbed her phone to check the time—and was stunned by the new message flashing on the screen. She swiped to unlock it and shot upright in shock.
The message read: “Fei’er is in Jing Cheng’s hands. Come quickly!”
At that moment, her ringtone chimed. The same number was calling again.
“Hello?”
“Xuan!”
“Fei’er! Where are you?”
“I’m fine, don’t worry. Jing Cheng has set a trap for you—don’t come! Mmm—”
“Fei’er! Fei’er!”
“Hahaha… dear niece, I loved the gift you gave me last time. Now it’s time I returned the favor. You’d better sign for it when it arrives!”
“Where are you?!”
“Heh… you want to know, but I won’t tell you. I’ll be in touch.”
Beep—beep—
The call ended. Jing Xuan tried to call back, but the phone was already turned off.
“Shit! That bastard!”
She calmed herself and immediately dialed Will.
“Will, I need you here—right now! I’m at home.”

Jing Cheng casually tossed the phone out the car window, a smug smile playing on his lips.
“Jing Xuan won’t dance to your tune,” Qiao Fei said coldly from across the car.
“Oh? You’re that confident?”
“Kidnapping me won’t help you. We’ve broken up. Jing Xuan won’t come. You’ve already seen how heartless she can be.”
“You really think so? Well, we’ll see, won’t we?”
“Either way, I won’t let you use me to threaten her. You won’t get away with it!”
Her words were like a tickle to Jing Cheng—not painful, just amusing.
He ignored her, then muttered to himself as if lost in thought.
“Do you know what gift I gave Jing Xuan? Heh… that was only the first step. I’ll make sure she knows what it’s like… to lose everything.”
