Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 89
On her way to Uncle Zeng’s shop, Qiao Fei was abducted by a group of men. Lin Hao’s plan was to stage a classic “hero rescues beauty” act—Qiao Fei would be kidnapped, he’d swoop in to save her, and she’d be moved by his sincerity and fall in love with him forever. It was a beautiful fantasy—but he had trusted the wrong people.
Amidst a sharp, throbbing headache, Qiao Fei slowly regained consciousness. Her eyes were covered, her mouth sealed shut. When she tried to lift a hand to her forehead, she realized both her hands and feet were tied. Darkness surrounded her, thick and silent. She had no idea where she was or what time it was. At first, she was terrified, but having already faced real bullets in the past, she quickly calmed down.
She had been kidnapped.
But by whom? And for what purpose?
Could it be Xuan? That was her first thought—someone using her as leverage against Jing Xuan. But her relationship with Xuan had always been discreet. No one outside their close circle even knew. And those close to them knew they’d already broken up. That made it unlikely. So, who could it be?
As she pondered, she heard footsteps outside the door. Someone was approaching. Qiao Fei quickly shut her eyes and listened quietly.
The door opened. Two men entered, one after the other.
“Boss, here she is! And she’s a looker too!”
“Well done! She’s a gold mine—make sure you keep an eye on her!”
“Don’t worry, boss. We’re just waiting for the boss man to come tonight with the money!”
“Great! Once we’ve got the cash, the brothers can celebrate with a few drinks!”
The two men left shortly after. When everything fell silent again, Qiao Fei struggled to sit up. She twisted her arms around from behind her back to the front, removed the hat covering her head, then carefully peeled off the tape on her mouth. She then wriggled around to untie the ropes binding her feet. After this exhausting effort, she was panting heavily.
She surveyed her surroundings. It looked like a well-furnished room—likely a luxury villa or hotel suite. There were no useful tools in sight. To untie the rope on her hands, she would need to get out of the room.
Qiao Fei quietly crept to the door and peered through the keyhole. Outside, there was only one man, slouched back on a sofa, feet propped up on a coffee table, unmoving while a shopping infomercial played on the
TV. He hadn’t changed the channel for ages—he was probably asleep.
Qiao Fei gently gripped the door handle and slowly pushed it down. But just then, footsteps echoed again—someone was coming back! She panicked and rushed back to the bed, but it was too late.
The door opened. A short, stout man stepped in. “Looks like our little guest is awake!” he said in choppy Mandarin with a heavy foreign accent.
Several others followed him. One man came over and re-taped her mouth, while two others lifted Qiao Fei by the arms and began to drag her out.
As they turned the corner of the hallway, a boy suddenly appeared, blocking their path with a baseball bat. Coolly, he said the classic line: “Let go of the girl! Or else—”
Before he could finish, he was punched hard in the face. Stars exploded in his vision.
Lin Hao gritted his teeth through the pain, cursing in his mind: Damn it! We agreed this was all for show—why are they hitting for real?!
Where the hell did big bro find these people? This is way too much!
The men were all thugs brought in by Nishikawa Heiji from Japan. Lin Hao stood no chance. After a few brutal punches, he tried to fight back, but he was swiftly knocked to the ground. He could only watch helplessly as they dragged Qiao Fei away.
He called Jing Cheng to complain: “The people you hired are too much! I paid them, and they’re actually beating me up!”
Jing Cheng chuckled, “Little Hao, how can the act feel real to Qiao Fei if they don’t hit you for real? Don’t you want a little more excitement? Don’t you want to see your love rival beg you for mercy? Let me tell you
—soon we’ll not only have Jing Xuan begging, but we’ll also make a fortune. Isn’t that something to look forward to?”
Lin Hao was stunned. He thought it was just a harmless scheme—but this had turned into a full-blown kidnapping and extortion operation. Things had gotten way out of hand.
Almost as if the phone had transmitted his thoughts, Jing Cheng added, “Lin Hao, we’re already in the same boat. There’s no turning back. Your only choice now is to cooperate. Once it’s over, you and your Fei’er can run away together, free from your father’s shadow—and with a pile of money to boot. Isn’t that worth it? Think it over.”
Lin Hao knew there was no getting off this pirate ship. The thought of being with Qiao Fei made it all seem worthwhile. Instead of living in fear, he might as well take the risk. And even if he backed out now, Jing
Cheng wouldn’t let him go anyway.
He sighed—Fei’er would suffer for now, but he would make it up to her later.
Qiao Fei had been moved to a new location, with tighter security. The ropes were replaced with handcuffs. Her “restraints” had been upgraded, and now someone was always watching her. Except for meals and bathroom breaks, her eyes remained covered. She had no idea how much time had passed. There was no movement, no signs of what they were after.
But one thing was clear: Lin Hao.
This situation—all of it—was thanks to him. The next time she could see, she would surely face that despicable face of his again. She had to escape. She couldn’t just sit and wait.
Meanwhile, Lin Hao wasn’t having an easy time either. Naturally timid, he hadn’t seen Jing Cheng since the kidnapping. Only Nishikawa Heiji would show up occasionally. Lin Hao was ordered around like a servant by this gang of thugs. At first, he tolerated it for the promise of a future with Qiao Fei, but every time he saw the hatred in her eyes, it stabbed at his conscience.
He had ruined her. How could he expect her to marry him now? He couldn’t keep making mistakes.
One day, Lin Hao volunteered to bring Qiao Fei her meal. He removed her blindfold. Qiao Fei took a long time to adjust her eyes. The blindfold had left deep, red marks around her eyelids. Lin Hao’s guilt deepened.
Her eyes were still ice-cold—cold enough to extinguish every ounce of warmth in him.
As he watched her awkwardly eat, he took the food container from her and tried to feed her.
Qiao Fei refused and wouldn’t open her mouth.
Lin Hao’s heart sank. Fei’er… do you really hate me that much?
He noticed the guard had gone out for dinner and whispered, “Fei’er, I’m sorry. I know you hate me. I hate myself too. I never imagined it would turn out like this. I just wanted to be with you. My love for you is real. I know it’s too late now—you probably hate me to death. But I promise you, I’ll find a way to get you out. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I just want to atone for what I did.”
Qiao Fei’s expression softened slightly.
Lin Hao continued, “Fei’er, you have to eat. You need your strength. Even if you have to fight your way out, you need energy. Let me feed you, just this once—pity me a little. Let me take care of you one last time. I swear, if we get out of this alive, I’ll never bother you again.”
A prodigal son mending his ways.
Qiao Fei breathed easier. At least she could start gathering information from him.
“Alright, Senior Lin. I believe you. Can you tell me where we are? Who are these people?”
“I don’t know where we are. I don’t know who these people are either—they were all brought by my big brother. I don’t even know where he found them.”
“Big brother? You have an older brother?”
“Not really. He’s someone I call ‘big bro’. I realize now he’s a bad guy. I’ve been used. And now there’s no way out.”
“What does he look like? What’s his name?”
“He’s good-looking, but there’s something sharp in his eyes. His name is Jing Cheng.”
“What?! It’s him?”
“You know him?”
“He’s Jing Xuan’s uncle. He’s a wanted international criminal! He must be targeting Xuan. Senior Lin, please—I beg you—find a way to warn Jing Xuan. Call the police if you can.”
“Don’t worry, Fei’er. I swear I’ll get the message out. I’ll do whatever it takes to get you out safely!”
