Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 76
“Do you dare?”
Faced with Jing Xuan’s intense questioning, Li Miaolan bowed her head in anguish, covering her face as tears streamed down.
The prosecutor immediately seized the moment. “Your Honor, Jing Xuan is intimidating our witness. I request sanctions against her!”
The prosecution’s lawyer pressed aggressively, but the situation took an unexpected turn. Suddenly, Li Miaolan let out a pained groan and slipped from her chair to the floor, one hand supporting her weight, the
other clutching her abdomen.
“Don’t tell me… she’s going into labor?” Gao Zhe looked over in shock, only to see water pooling beneath her.
“You jinxed it! And you were right!” Junye was the first to spring from the gallery. “Quick! We need to get help!”
The hearing was abruptly suspended due to the emergency, and Li Miaolan was immediately taken to the hospital. Jing Xuan remained released on bail, but the twists in the case were far from over.

On the other side of things, Shi Jiawen carefully saved the restored video by Shen Yiling to her office computer before rushing to the evidence department. As she gripped the door handle, she hesitated, uneasy.
She turned back, copied the video to her phone as backup, grabbed a couple of files randomly, and finally left the office with her bag in hand. Unbeknownst to her, as soon as she stepped out, a shadow lurking in
the dark slipped silently into her office.

As soon as Jing Xuan was led out of the courtroom, Qiao Fei and Lan Qing rushed over. Before they could speak, Jing Xuan spoke first:
“Fei’er, Qing’er, go find Li Miaolan now! I’m afraid she might be in danger if we’re too late!”
“Xuan, what’s going on?” Qiao Fei looked hurt. We’ve been so worried about you, and the moment you’re out, all you care about is the woman who tried to hurt you.
Lan Qing, more perceptive, understood immediately. “Don’t worry. Shuangji and Junye have already gone. We’ll hear something soon.”
Seeing Qiao Fei’s confused expression, Jing Xuan took her hand and explained:
“Li Miaolan was planted by Jing Cheng to spy on me—she’s one of his pawns. Originally, she was supposed to testify against me today, and if she had, I’d have no chance to turn things around. But her sudden labor disrupted Jing Cheng’s entire plan. He’s a cruel, ruthless man—he won’t let her off easily.”
“Xuan… Am I being immature? I just want to help you…” Qiao Fei’s eyes shimmered with tears.
“No, you’re not immature. You’re just not used to our world. It’s not your fault. I want to protect that innocence in you.”
“Xuan, don’t say that. I understand now. I want to become stronger too—to stand beside you, to share your burdens!”
Indeed, love makes people blind. Qiao Fei felt a moment of self-disdain—Wasn’t I once the considerate type? Why am I so sensitive now? It must be because I love her too much. She glanced at Lan Qing, who was gently smoothing Jing Xuan’s wrinkled collar. At that moment, she understood the gap between herself and Lan Qing. She loved Jing Xuan just as deeply, but she had given far less.
She thought of what Gao Zhe had told her that night at the Iga house and clenched her resolve. Xuan, I’ll love you with everything I have too.

“Alright, let’s stop standing around. We should head back and wait for news,” Nianqing said, breaking the momentary silence.
Xiao Lu quickly ran off to get the car. Just then, Jing Xuan’s phone rang. She pulled it out—it was Shi Jiawen.
She answered. “Officer Shi? What?! Are you sure it’s reliable? Thank you so much! Alright, goodbye!”
As she hung up, Xiao Lu drove up with the car. A rare smile spread across Jing Xuan’s face, leaving the other three women stunned.
“Get in. Nianqing’s right—this isn’t the place to talk. Let’s head back first.”
On the way, Jing Xuan shared the call from Shi Jiawen.
“Is it really reliable? If so, we won’t have to go to Japan. Xuan, your case could be resolved soon!” Lan Qing was overjoyed. Finally, the injustice can be cleared.
Jing Xuan didn’t respond.
Qiao Fei stared at her. “Xuan, what are you thinking? This is good news—aren’t you happy?”
“I am happy. I’m just thinking—it’s time to stop being passive. We can’t keep letting Jing Cheng lead us by the nose. It’s time to fight back.”

Later that evening, Gao Zhe and the others returned. Everyone gathered at the Huang family estate.
Li Miaolan had given birth to a baby boy. Both mother and child were safe, though the delivery had drained her. She was still weak, so Yan Junye arranged for guards at the hospital, just in case.
Jing Xuan informed Gao Zhe and Junye of Shi Jiawen’s recovered video. Everyone agreed—it was time to shift from defense to offense.
But things rarely go smoothly. Just then, Sister Mei knocked gently on the door, interrupting their conversation.
“Young master—ah, apologies, I’m still used to calling you that—Miss Shi is here to see you.”
“Shi Jiawen? Please show her in.”
As soon as she entered, everyone was visibly stunned.
“Officer Shi, what happened to you?” Jing Xuan asked, both curious and concerned.
Shi Jiawen’s usual pristine look was gone—her ponytail was loose, her face smudged with soot, and her clothes were dirty. She looked more like a bullied schoolgirl than a cold, competent officer.
She walked in briskly, grabbed a cup, and drank down its contents in gulps, shattering her cool image.
“Hey, slow down!” Jing Xuan said helplessly. She had just realized Shi Jiawen had taken Gao Zhe’s cup—who was notoriously fussy. She asked Sister Mei to make fresh tea.
After quenching her thirst, Shi Jiawen finally spoke.
“Jing Xuan, I believe you’re innocent.”
“You came all this way just to tell me that?” Jing Xuan raised an eyebrow.
Shi Jiawen grabbed another cup, took another sip, then replied, “Of course not.” She glanced around at the expectant faces and hesitated.
Jing Xuan noticed. “Don’t worry—they’re not outsiders. You can speak freely.”
Shi Jiawen steadied herself and said, “The video—your video—it’s gone.”

☆ Wangqing Returns
Dear readers,
I’m back!
It’s been a few years since I started writing, and I’m incredibly grateful for all your support along the way. This story hasn’t been updated in quite some time—I don’t know if any of you are still following it, but since it’s my very first work, I want to see it through to the end.
I know my writing still has room for improvement, and this story might not be perfect. I hope you’ll continue to give feedback and suggestions so we can bring this story to life together.
Because it’s been so long, and I’ve grown a lot over the years, it’s natural to feel a bit rusty picking this up again. I hope you’ll enjoy this new chapter. Updates might be slow, but I promise I’ll do my best to update as quickly as I can.
Wangqing has returned! 💖
