Gold-Devouring Bottom: A Guide to Pampering - Chapter 19
Ye Xiuchen, startled by the sudden ambush, practically jumped out of his skin. His head slammed into the grab handle on the car ceiling with a dull thud.
Shen Xinghuai was stunned. He’d only meant to tease him, not actually kiss him—and certainly not cause him bodily harm.
Fortunately, his reflexes were quick. Before Ye Xiuchen could explode and tear him apart, Shen Xinghuai pressed a hand over the spot the man had just hit. “Did you bump your head, Brother? There, there, it doesn’t hurt. Let me blow on it for you.”
Ye Xiuchen slapped his hand away and glared at him sidelong. He was clearly more incensed by the provocation than the actual bump. “There will come a time when you’re the one begging for mercy,” he hissed.
Listen to the way he talks!
Shen Xinghuai was utterly unimpressed. Dealing with a man whose mouth was tougher than his, well, everything else, was a chore. He was just being the bigger person by not making a scene. Given how panicked the man looked just now, if he actually kissed him, Ye Xiuchen would be the one begging for mercy.
Ye Xiuchen was still staring at him gloomily. “What’s with that expression?” Thanks to this disruption, the urgency that had gripped his heart earlier had completely dissipated.
However, the doubt in his mind was only growing. He didn’t believe Shen Xinghuai could be truly seamless; sooner or later, he would slip up.
Shen Xinghuai pouted but said nothing, leaning back against his seat and sitting properly.
By the time they reached home, the sky was nearly light. Shen Xinghuai took a quick shower and collapsed into his large bed, falling asleep within minutes.
He didn’t get much rest, though. Around 8:00 AM, his phone rang. Groggy, he swiped to decline. A moment later, a WeChat notification chimed.
He squinted at the screen. A little red dot had appeared on the avatar for Nan Yang.
Shen Xinghuai thought for a few seconds before remembering he’d asked Nan Yang to check if any talent agencies were up for sale. He rolled around on the bed a few times, clutching his quilt, before dragging himself up. He patted his face with both hands to wake up and opened the message.
Nan Yang: Xinghuai, I looked into what you asked for. Here is a list of companies and shops in Lincheng currently looking to transfer ownership.
Nan Yang: [File]
Shen Xinghuai opened the file. It was a long list. In the “newly added” column at the very bottom, he found the name of his talent agency.
It was just as he suspected. The agency boss was terrified of retaliation from Lu Yan and wanted to fleece Shen Xinghuai for a breach-of-contract fee before selling the company and running.
Not only did he find the agency on the list, but he also saw another familiar name: Balu Business Club. That was the doorless establishment where he’d met Lu Yan—it had only been put up for sale in the last couple of days.
It seemed the reason was the same: they’d offended Lu Yan, and now their business was unsustainable.
He exited the file and replied to Nan Yang.
Shen Xinghuai: Thanks!
Shen Xinghuai: Two of these look good. Could you help me contact the people in charge? I’d like a quote.
Nan Yang replied instantly: Sure. When do you want to talk? Tell me the names of the two companies.
Shen Xinghuai: As soon as possible.
Shen Xinghuai: But keep it quiet for now. Don’t let them know it’s me.
Nan Yang: Understood.
Nan Yang: If it’s convenient, we should probably meet in person to discuss the finer details.
Since he’d already received the termination letter, Shen Xinghuai wanted to settle this quickly. He was free every day lately anyway.
Shen Xinghuai: How about today? When are you free?
Nan Yang: I have a class this morning. I’ll come see you after I’m done.
The original owner of this body had graduated last year, and Nan Yang was a junior from the same university. This was a perfect excuse to visit the campus.
Shen Xinghuai: I’ll go to the school and wait for you. I’d like to see the place again.
Nan Yang: Okay.
Nan Yang’s class ended around 10:00 AM, so Shen Xinghuai needed to get up, eat breakfast, and get ready.
Uncle Ming was once again surprised to see him downstairs so early. “Mr. Shen, did you have insomnia again? I’ll call Dr. Lin over.”
“No need. I didn’t have insomnia; I just have things to do.” Shen Xinghuai grabbed Uncle Ming’s arm. He had no desire to discuss “bedroom harmony” with Dr. Lin ever again.
Harmony was clearly non-existent; he’d only pretended to want a kiss last night and the man nearly had a heart attack. If he actually tried it, Ye Xiuchen would likely go insane or tear him to shreds on the spot.
Uncle Ming studied him for another moment and, seeing he was fine, relaxed. “Alright. I’ll notify the kitchen to prepare breakfast. The Young Master should be coming down shortly.”
Speak of the devil. The moment the words left Uncle Ming’s mouth, Ye Xiuchen appeared at the top of the stairs. Seeing Shen Xinghuai, his footsteps faltered—he clearly hadn’t forgotten the previous night’s events.
Shen Xinghuai acted as if nothing had happened. “Morning, Brother. Does your head still hurt?”
Ye Xiuchen cast him a lukewarm, sardonic glance and let out a huff. The atmosphere lapsed into a strange, awkward silence.
Fortunately, Uncle Ming stepped forward, breaking the tension. “Young Master, it’s the end of the month. These are the expenditure bills from last month; they need your signature.”
Ye Xiuchen took the bills and was about to sign when Uncle Ming added, “Young Master, last month’s bills were three million more than usual. Should I include this amount when I go to the company to draw next month’s expenses?”
“Mm, add it.” Ye Xiuchen signed and handed the bills back. Before leaving, he glanced at Shen Xinghuai and added, “Add an extra five million.”
Uncle Ming’s eyebrows shot up. It seemed the Young Master truly doted on this Mr. Shen; such a massive increase in the bills, and he didn’t even blink. It was lucky Mr. Shen had met a man who didn’t lack money—an ordinary family couldn’t afford to keep him for a single day.
While Uncle Ming was mentally complaining about his spending, Shen Xinghuai actually felt he’d become quite thrifty since arriving here. Five million? That wouldn’t even cover the fuel for a private jet or a yacht.
Ye Xiuchen sat opposite him with a cup of coffee, his eyes flickering over him with a cold chill. If Shen Xinghuai was up this early instead of sleeping in, something was definitely afoot. “What is it? Speak.”
Shen Xinghuai assumed he’d overheard the conversation with Uncle Ming. “Oh, I’m planning to buy a company and a club. I’m going out to negotiate later.”
Ye Xiuchen set down his coffee, pulled a card from his document bag on the sofa, and tossed it over. “I’ll send the PIN to your phone.” So, he wanted money.
Shen Xinghuai realized there was a misunderstanding. “I have money.”
Ye Xiuchen held the card between his fingers and stared at him, silent.
But Shen Xinghuai genuinely didn’t want his money. “I really do have it. The card Ye Xiujun gave me at the old estate has thirty million on it.”
At the mention of Ye Xiujun, the man’s face darkened by several degrees. He’s provoking me!
He stood up abruptly from the sofa and walked toward Shen Xinghuai, his gaze radiating danger. “You’ll use his money, but not mine? You look down on me? You think I can’t afford to keep you?”
