- Going Rogue! The Sickly Beauty Stopped Faking After Transmigrating
- Chapter 2 - Yu Feng is Simply Amazing
When Su An woke up again, he found himself lying on a luxurious king-sized bed. However, this room clearly had a bit more of a “lived-in” feel than the hotel room.
Su An propped himself up and noticed he was hooked up to an IV drip.
“You’re awake?” Yu Feng walked in from outside, placing a bowl of hot porridge on the nightstand. He teased, “You really do have a fainting-prone constitution. You passed out before we could even exchange two sentences.”
Su An sat obediently on the bed. “I… my health isn’t very good.”
“It’s more than just ‘not very good.’ I’ve never seen a body weaker than yours.” Yu Feng frowned. “Do you care that little about your own physical well-being?”
Su An defended himself in a small voice, “I was planning to go to the hospital for a check-up.”
He really couldn’t be blamed. He truly hadn’t expected that transmigrating into this body would result in such extreme frailty. Although he had spent years confined to a hospital bed in his previous life, unable to go anywhere, he felt that—aside from his heart—every other part of his old body was better than this one.
Yu Feng gave a brief summary of what the family doctor had said and then prepared to leave. Before walking out, he repeatedly urged Su An to drink the porridge while it was still hot.
As Su An leaned against the headboard taking small sips of the porridge, his phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID: Ling Ling [Heart Emoji].
Huh? What kind of contact name is that?
Su An answered the call.
“An’an, are you okay? How did you end up causing trouble over at Brother Yu Feng’s place?”
The “cutesy” voice on the other end of the line made the hairs on Su An’s arms stand up. Enduring both physical and mental discomfort, he asked, “Who are you?”
“Did you lose your memory? It’s me, Feng Ling.”
Feng Ling. The protagonist shou (the “bottom” or submissive lead). Judging by his tone, the original owner of this body not only knew him but shared a rather “special” relationship with him.
“Oh, Ling Ling. I’m just groggy from sleeping. What’s up?” Su An pitched his voice to match. Acting? Who doesn’t know how to do that?
“I’m just worried about you! Now that you’re at Brother Yu Feng’s, did he say anything to you?”
Good heavens. Was he worried about Su An, or was he worried about his precious “Brother Yu Feng”? Using that nickname every other sentence… Su An really wanted to pull Yu Feng over to listen so he wouldn’t have to suffer through this auditory torture alone.
Su An recalled the upcoming plot. It seemed the protagonist gong (the dominant lead) and shou would use a series of shady maneuvers to steal a vital contract, directly severing the Yu family’s main capital chain.
He remembered that the villain, Yu Feng, ended up dying in a car accident orchestrated by the protagonist duo. The car exploded into a massive fireball, leaving Yu Feng without even a body to bury.
Su An didn’t know what the original author was thinking—how a shrewd villain like that got taken down by two half-witted leads with full-of-holes plans. It was pure “protagonist halo” logic. Having disliked the leads’ petty methods for a long time, Su An decided that since he had transmigrated, he would find an opportunity to mess with them.
Su An pretended to say casually, “I heard Yu Feng seems to have his eye on that plot of land in the north of the city at the auction the day after tomorrow.”
“Really? You’re amazing, An’an! Love you!”
Su An hung up immediately. He was afraid that if he didn’t, he would throw up the porridge he just ate.
That land in the north… he remembered that something went wrong with it later. It was guaranteed to be a loss a massive one, if he remembered the amount correctly.
Scrolling through his contacts, he realized he even had the information for the protagonist gong, Xia Lianqi. Su An moved his fingers and blocked everyone except for the two leads.
I’ll keep these two; they’ll be useful later.
As the IV drip was nearing its end, Yu Feng entered the room with a man of extraordinary temperament. He helped Su An remove the needle and said, “You are severely malnourished. You must eat three meals a day on time, avoid large emotional swings, and steer clear of strenuous exercise.”
“Whatever business you have can wait until your health is a bit better—”
“Gu Cheng, you’re talking too much,” Yu Feng interrupted Gu Cheng’s long-winded lecture.
Gu Cheng gave a short “tsk.” “I’m a doctor; of course I’m going to have a lot to say to a patient. Keep a close eye on him. This body of his can’t handle any major storms right now.”
“I know. Now get out.” Seeing that Gu Cheng was finished, Yu Feng shooed him away.
Gu Cheng replied, “Fine, fine. Just see if you have the nerve to call me next time something happens.”
After Gu Cheng left, Su An whispered, “Thank you.”
“What did you say? I didn’t hear you clearly.” Yu Feng pretended to lean in closer.
“I said ‘hooligan,'” Su An said, using his hand to push away the head leaning toward him.
“You little ingrate,” Yu Feng teased with a laugh.
Su An watched Yu Feng as he sat opposite him flipping through documents. “Are you going to the auction the day after tomorrow?”
“How did you know that?” Yu Feng looked at Su An suspiciously, who was lying on the bed playing with his phone.
“I’m a genius,” Su An replied without looking up.
Yu Feng let out a laugh. “And what brilliant insights does the little genius have?”
“Don’t touch that land in the north of the city.”
“Oh? Why?” Yu Feng gave him a meaningful look.
“As repayment for taking me in. Just tell me, do you believe me or not?” Su An looked up at the man across from him.
“Yeah. I believe you.” Even Yu Feng paused for a moment after saying it. He wasn’t sure where this trust came from, but he just… did.
The day of the auction arrived quickly. As soon as the land in the north was announced, many people started placing high bids.
“Boss, the prospects for this land look pretty good so far. Are we not bidding?” the special assistant, Zhou Ran, asked hesitantly.
Yu Feng sat in his seat, leisurely and calm. For some reason, he kept thinking of the way Su An had said, “Just tell me, do you believe me or not?”
“No, we aren’t bidding. But… put on a show and raise the price at the right times,” he instructed Zhou Ran.
After Yu Feng’s side continuously drove the price up, the land was finally snatched up by Xia Lianqi for a staggering figure. Those around him offered polite congratulations.
Looking at the final price, Xia Lianqi felt a pang of regret in his wallet, but then he thought about how Yu Feng had failed to beat him. He smiled inwardly with pride. What does Yu Feng and his Yu Corporation amount to? Sooner or later, the entirety of S City will belong to the Xia family.
It was only later, when the northern plot of land faced one disaster after another, that Xia Lianqi would have a total breakdown but that was a story for another time.
After the auction ended, Yu Feng didn’t go back to the office; he went home. As soon as he walked through the door, he saw Su An sprawled on the sofa eating snacks and watching TV, looking incredibly content.
Anyone who didn’t know better would think the house had a new owner. Since Su An had fainted, he had moved into Yu Feng’s place quite naturally, and Yu Feng hadn’t kicked him out.
“Where did those snacks come from? I don’t remember having those in the house.” Yu Feng took off his suit jacket and hung it on the rack by the door.
“Auntie Lin from next door gave them to me,” Su An said, popping a snack into his mouth.
“Your ability to win people over is growing by the day. You’re already calling her ‘Auntie Lin’?”
Su An looked a bit proud. “It’s not called winning people over; Auntie Lin is just worried about me.”
“Oh? Worried? She sees you like this and gives you snacks?” Yu Feng ruthlessly snatched the snacks from Su An’s hand. “No more.”
Su An: “???”
“Give them back.”
“Are you a kindergartner?” Su An curled his lip. So childish.
The snack bag had been opened, but its journey was cut short midway. Seeing Su An’s dissatisfied expression, Yu Feng raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. He set the snacks aside. “Go change your clothes. We’re going out.”
“Where to?” Su An stood up and turned off the TV.
“The supermarket. Since you have ‘nothing to eat,’ right?” Yu Feng changed into more casual clothes.
Hearing this, Su An immediately brightened up. Who said Yu Feng wasn’t a good guy? Yu Feng was simply amazing! Since moving in, he hadn’t stepped foot outside—not for any other reason, but because he was broke.
Yesterday, Feng Ling had called saying he wanted to thank Su An by treated him to dinner. Su An had rejected him instantly. Dinner might be free, but a taxi costs money! Moreover, the distance from this wealthy district to the city center wasn’t short. From now on, please don’t invite him to any activity that costs more than five yuan.
“Why are you just standing there? What are you waiting for?” Yu Feng asked.
“Waiting for you to drown me in money,” Su An blurted out.
Yu Feng: “…”
Yu Feng fell into a rare silence. There weren’t many people who could render him speechless; Su An was one of them.
Su An ran upstairs, put on a jacket, and ran back down.
“It’s cold outside,” Yu Feng frowned.
“I know,” Su An nodded.
“You know, yet you’re only wearing that much?” Yu Feng’s eyes narrowed dangerously, amused but exasperated.
“I didn’t bring many clothes.”
The original owner’s rented apartment didn’t have much in it. Since the lease had expired a few days ago, he had packed up his important belongings and moved them all here. Su An had selectively ignored the bizarre, gaudy, and multi-colored clothes in the original owner’s wardrobe, picking only a few pieces that looked decent.
Yu Feng went to his own bedroom closet and picked out a padded coat he used to wear and a scarf. He wrapped Su An up layer by layer until he was packed tight. Yu Feng was more than half a head taller than him, so even his old clothes were a bit oversized on Su An.
Looking at Su An, who was now wrapped up like a zongzi (sticky rice dumpling), Yu Feng nodded in satisfaction. He patted Su An’s head. “Let’s go, little zongzi.”
Su An: “…”
You’re the zongzi. Your whole family are zongzis!
