- Chapter 23 - Venting, You'd Better Be Prepared
Rong Shu rolled her eyes at Yu Qianyan in annoyance, shuffling away as hard as she could, wishing she could sit as far away from her as possible.
Yu Qianyan pursed her lips, forcing down the smile tugging at the corners of her mouth, and teasingly said regarding Rong Shu’s childish behavior, “Are you upset? Is it because I didn’t play along?”
“Don’t even start!”
Rong Shu glared at Yu Qianyan, instinctively swinging her hand and swatting at Yu Qianyan’s shoulder.
Yu Qianyan played along, collapsing on cue while letting out “ah, ah” sounds of agony.
Although this performance was insincere, it achieved the desired effect, and Rong Shu was indeed amused enough to chuckle.
Yet, even though she was laughing, she still had to stay angry. However, the rebellious corners of her mouth just wouldn’t stay down no matter how hard she tried to pout. Eventually, she angrily threw herself onto Yu Qianyan and began to pummel her in a completely chaotic, uncoordinated manner.
Although Rong Shu had finished her secondary differentiation, she was still an Omega after all, and her sword training had been too short to even count as a beginner, so how would she know how to fight?
Her fists hitting her back felt a little painful, but the force was barely even equal to a massage. At first, Yu Qianyan just lay there, letting her hit, but after a rapid-fire session of little fists, she almost drifted off to sleep, which gave her a start.
If she yawned right now, wouldn’t it infuriate this petty little thing, Rong Shu? She quickly rolled over, perking herself up to dodge the attacks.
This display of violence was very novel for Rong Shu, and even though it was disorganized, she found it amusing. Seeing Yu Qianyan start to dodge, she grew even more excited. Feeling that having most of her body pressing on Yu Qianyan was making it hard to move, she had a second thought—since she couldn’t suppress the other person anyway, she decided to abandon defense for offense. She climbed up, straddled Yu Qianyan’s waist in a few movements, and pinned down her hip bones while swinging her fists wildly.
This was a good move. Yu Qianyan was genuinely caught off guard by the tactical shift, causing her upper body to take a few chaotic hits. A few landed squarely on her chest, which was quite painful, making her wince.
Rong Shu was getting into the swing of things and didn’t notice that some of her punches landed in particularly soft spots, nor did she notice Yu Qianyan’s slightly distorted expression. Instead, feeling that bare-handed fighting wasn’t satisfying enough, she began searching around for weapons, like pillows, cushions, or a vase.
Seeing Rong Shu’s eyes darting around, Yu Qianyan knew immediately what kind of mischief she was planning. Not daring to let her continue venting, she turned to tickle Rong Shu instead.
Rong Shu was indeed ticklish, every inch of her skin was sensitive. She hurriedly tried to dodge, twisting and turning on top of Yu Qianyan, causing her position to gradually slide from Yu Qianyan’s hips down to her waist.
Yu Qianyan felt a jolt in her heart at this movement and hurriedly clamped her hands around her slender waist, trying to get her to stop moving.
Before Yu Qianyan could finish inwardly marveling at how slender yet supple Rong Shu’s waist was, she was struck in the right eye socket by a panicked fist. She cried out in pain and, instinctively getting serious, flipped her over.
In just one second, the positions of the two playful rivals were reversed, and Rong Shu became the one completely suppressed.
Yu Qianyan blinked her right eye, feeling it throb with pain and numbness, her vision swimming with stars. She didn’t continue fighting Rong Shu, but instead used her long body to pin her down. With one hand, she gripped both of Rong Shu’s white wrists and pressed them firmly against her chest to keep her from squirming, while her other hand gently rubbed her right eye, taking a while to recover.
How could Rong Shu, who was riding the high of the fight, just accept defeat? Finding she couldn’t break free, she tried to headbutt Yu Qianyan’s chin, only for Yu Qianyan to narrowly dodge it.
“Hey! Are you for real?!” Yu Qianyan exclaimed in surprise. She had completely not expected that she was just joking with Rong Shu, yet she had gotten this angry, almost acting with lethal intent. For a moment, she couldn’t help but get a little genuinely annoyed.
But if she were asked to truly brawl with Rong Shu, she wouldn’t be able to bring herself to do it. So, full of grievance, she used her other free hand to fiercely tickle Rong Shu’s waist, focusing on just one side.
The sensation was unbearably ticklish, piercing straight into Rong Shu’s heart.
Rong Shu was tough at first, laughing uncontrollably while resisting, but after a while, she felt like the air in her lungs was being exhausted, burning with a stinging pain. Moreover, the ticklish sensation from her waist became increasingly intense, as if it were going to burn that small patch of skin to a crisp.
Electric currents raced along with the ticklish sensation through her entire body, making Rong Shu feel achingly numb all over, her calves tightening, her toes curling, and even the gland behind her neck began to grow faintly hot. A stream of heat rose from her lower abdomen, headed straight down, reached its destination, and then flowed back along the same path, repeating endlessly, which was torturously maddening.
The window was cracked open, letting in a thin breeze that stirred the small pot of daisies on the windowsill. The petals trembled ceaselessly in the wind, as if unable to withstand the chill it carried, futilely contracting their centers in an attempt to resist the wave after wave of cold, though it was all in vain.
Rong Shu finally couldn’t withstand the ticklishness any longer. Her eyes were brimming with tears from laughter, and her waist ached endlessly from being tensed for so long. She had to concede and shout, “Stop! Stop!”
Yu Qianyan didn’t give her a hard time and decisively stopped.
The two, finally ceasing their hostilities, lay intertwined, limbs tangled together in a messy heap. Their heavy, panting breaths were mingled with the scent of their respective pheromones.
Yu Qianyan recovered first, letting out a low chuckle. She lazily rubbed her head against the crook of Rong Shu’s neck and asked, “Have you vented enough? Do you feel any happier?”
Rong Shu’s ear felt ticklish from the hot breath, and she tried to push away the fuzzy head beside her, but couldn’t. She let her hand drop in defeat, her eyes flickering with unreadable emotions. Her gaze shifted heavily toward the daisies on the windowsill, and half in a sigh, half in mockery, she said, “Enough? How could that ever be possible?”
“Yu Qianyan, making me completely vent my anger is very difficult. You’d better be prepared for what’s to come.”
Author’s Note: Daisies: Um… since you two are done, can someone please close the window?
Don’t think that because Rongbao doesn’t hurt when she hits that she isn’t hitting with lethal intent. After all, the probability of a cute cat killing someone is low, but it is definitely not 0 (staring).
