- Chapter 6 - Li Bao, Don’t Look at Me Like That
Fu Chengyan gazed at the girl, the curve of his lips deepening.
Sure enough, she was nothing but a paper tiger all bark and no bite.
When it came down to real action, she was the first to back down.
Li Muli gritted her teeth, unwilling to be at a disadvantage. She leaned close to the man’s ear and whispered, “If you keep teasing me, I’ll pin you down sooner or later.”
The girl’s warm breath brushed against his ear, spreading a wave of heat.
Fu Chengyan gripped her slender waist and lowered his voice in response, “I’ll be waiting.”
The atmosphere in the car grew increasingly heated, thick with ambiguity, making hearts race and cheeks flush.
At that moment, Jiang Fan wished he could vanish into thin air. This R-rated conversation, he was afraid he might be silenced for good.
Fortunately, they finally arrived at the hot pot restaurant. Jiang Fan fled the scene as if his life depended on it.
Had his boss, Fu, been abstinent for too long? Was that why he was so intense?
And that Miss Li was no pushover either.
Truly, the person Fu had his eye on was exceptional.
Yes, they were a perfect match. Made for each other.
“Let me go,” Li Muli said, pushing hard against the man’s firm chest.
The man remained unmoved, tightening his grip instead. He buried his face in the crook of her neck, his voice low and magnetic. “Let me hold you a little longer.”
“I kind of regret not agreeing to you the first time we met.”
Li Muli wrapped her arms around his lean waist, pressing her cheek against his forehead. “It’s not too late now.”
How could her tone be so sweet?
A soft chuckle escaped the man’s throat, his chest vibrating slightly. “Mm, I want to kiss you again.”
This man was truly shameless.
Li Muli turned her head, ready to get out of the car, but the man hooked a finger under her chin, turning her face back to his, and covered her delicate lips.
He leaned in and coaxed softly, “Li Bao, be good, open your mouth.”
His magnetic voice filled her ears, gradually spreading through her entire body.
It left her tingling and weak.
Before she knew it, she had unconsciously parted her lips, and the man’s tongue slipped in, slowly intertwining with hers.
The kiss was gentle and lingering.
The sound of their heartbeats pounded in their ears, so loud it was impossible to tell whose was whose.
Heartbeats, ambiguity, sweetness.
“Li Bao, you need to learn to breathe,” the man murmured, his hot breath fanning across her cheeks. His voice grew increasingly seductive as he kissed his way to her ear.
The girl’s faintly pink earlobes and flushed lips were clear evidence of what had just happened.
Her damp eyes fixed on him, as if accusing him, yet also inviting him.
Fu Chengyan chuckled softly and covered her eyes with his hand. “Li Bao, don’t look at me like that,” he continued in a hoarse voice, “or I might… lose control.”
Damn, that was so unfair.
His voice was so husky, so seductive, and his kissing skills were so skilled.
Li Muli’s heartbeat grew louder and faster, as if the little deer in her heart was about to crash to its death.
She took deep breaths, trying desperately to calm herself down.
“Li Bao, your heartbeat is so fast,” the man had to point out.
Li Muli’s cheeks grew redder, and she felt as if her ears were about to drip blood. “I’m hungry.”
But the voice that came out was soft and alluring.
Her ears grew redder, her heartbeat faster, and her face burned with increasing embarrassment.
The veins on Fu Chengyan’s hands tightened, blood rushing through his body, making him feel hot and restless.
He struggled to steady himself, forcing his voice to sound calm. “Let’s go eat.”
He practically fled in defeat.
Li Muli also got out of the car, nearly stumbling as she did. The man quickly caught her in his arms, his tone both helpless and doting, “Why are you acting like a little kid?”
“My legs feel weak,” the girl in his arms whispered softly.
Fu Chengyan paused for a moment before understanding dawned on him. The corners of his lips curled upward uncontrollably as he bent down and scooped her up in a princess carry.
Seeing the man’s undisguised amusement, Li Muli grew even more irritated. She pinched his chest hard and grumbled, “It’s all your fault.”
When he showed no reaction, she buried her face in his chest, closed her eyes, and felt utterly defeated.
She never expected her first kiss to leave her legs so weak.
If kissing made her legs give out, she might as well move to another planet.
Fu Chengyan watched the girl in his arms, her pinching as light as a kitten’s scratch, and felt his body grow even warmer.
“Mmm, my fault. I shouldn’t have kissed you until your legs went weak.”
“Just shut up already.”
“Alright, whatever you say, my dear Libao.” Her flushed cheeks and his own physical reaction told him he had to stop teasing her.
Otherwise, it might just cost him his life.
Li Muli covered her ears, unwilling to listen to him.
So annoying! What’s with “Libao”? It’s so cheesy and cringey.
Fu Chengyan’s lips curved into a gentle smile. She really was an adorable little treasure.
Every part of her was endearing, every part of her made him want to cherish her.
“President Fu, please come in,” someone inside greeted warmly.
Fu Chengyan nodded and carried her toward the private room.
“Alright, Libao, time to get down,” he murmured softly, lowering his voice to coax her.
Li Muli abruptly leaped out of his arms and glared at him. “Speak properly. Don’t call me Libao.”
Her heart couldn’t take it.
From the moment she got in the car until now, her heartbeat hadn’t slowed down.
She’d already gone weak in the knees from kissing she didn’t need to faint from a pet name, too.
Fu Chengyan frowned slightly, unable to grasp the girl’s thoughts.
“My dear treasure?”
“Baby?”
“Sweetheart?”
“Darling?”
With each term of endearment he uttered, Li Muli’s heartbeat quickened, thumping louder and faster.
“Fine, fine, call me whatever you want,” she nearly fled in embarrassment.
It wasn’t like she wanted to be swayed.
But he called her “baby.”
He even called her “darling.”
It was downright lethal. Once a man started flirting, she didn’t stand a chance.
Watching the girl flee in a fluster, Fu Chengyan understood in an instant.
She was shy.
That little vixen who used to tease him was gradually turning into a bashful little rabbit.
So utterly lovable.
Good thing she’d fallen into his hands she deserved to be cherished by him.
Li Muli took out her phone, using it to distract herself.
Just then, a message from Qiao Yi came through: What has my dear Lili been up to lately?
Eating hot pot.
Where? I’m coming! Ugh, I’m so craving it. Lili, how dare you eat alone!
Li Muli glanced up at the man in front of her and replied: Don’t come. I’m on a date.
“Sweetheart, put your phone away. It’s time to eat.”
She nodded, set her phone down, and turned her attention to the hot pot she adored.
But on the other end of the phone, chaos erupted as messages flooded in.
Holy crap, what did you say? A date!
You traitor, ditching your friends for a guy! Where are you!
We agreed whoever got into a relationship first was a dog! Betrayer!
Answer me!
Unable to wait for her reply, Qiao Yi called directly, determined to hear an explanation.
“Li Muli, you better explain this clearly.”
“Mmph,” Li Muli struggled to swallow the food the man across from her had fed her, preparing to speak.
There was a pause on the other end of the line: “Holy shit, Lili, you, you, you…”
Li Muli immediately knew Qiao Yi had misunderstood her and quickly spoke up: “Yiyi…”
Before she could finish, a man’s voice cut her off: “Sweetheart, be good, open your mouth.”
Clickthe call ended.
Li Muli closed her eyes. Great, now she was misunderstood.
The man in front of her continued holding out the peeled shrimp in his hand: “Come on, sweetheart, open your mouth.”
It was as if what had just happened never occurred; he was solely focused on feeding the girl in front of him.
Li Muli resignedly opened her mouth again to accept the offering. Oh well, might as well enjoy it for now.
This was the kind of care that came from President Gu.
