- Chapter 23 - Baby, You Can Do No Wrong in My Eyes
“I need a bath, I stink,” Li Muli said pitifully, sniffing her own scent.
Fu Chenyan chuckled softly. “Alright, I’ll help you wash, baby.”
Li Muli leaned in and planted a loud kiss on the corner of his lips. “Little brother, you’re so nice.”
Fu Chenyan held her in his arms, gently stroking her collarbone. “Who am I?”
“Little brother,” Li Muli replied with a blissful smile.
“Who is ‘little brother’?” Fu Chenyan pressed further.
Tilting her head, Li Muli looked at the man before her, seemingly puzzled as to why he would ask such a simple question. “Little brother is the super handsome little brother.”
“Then who’s more handsome, little brother or me?”
Li Muli frowned, looking at him with disdain. “You’re so silly. You are the handsome little brother.”
Fu Chenyan laughed softly, lowering his head to kiss her eyes. “Mm, I’m a big fool.”
“Mm, big fool, hurry and carry me to the bath. I stink so much,” Li Muli said with a haughty expression.
“Good girl, drink the hangover soup first,” the man coaxed in a low voice.
Fu Chenyan fed her with a spoon, but she stared at him in confusion.
“That’s not right. That’s not how it goes on TV. On TV, the male lead always feeds the female lead with his mouth,” she said, shaking her head and pouting.
Fu Chenyan chuckled, took a sip of the hangover soup, and pressed his lips to hers, transferring the soup into her mouth.
The girl obediently swallowed the soup, then stuck out her little tongue to lightly lick his lips.
The teasing sent a jolt through the man’s nerves. He pulled her close and kissed her lips fiercely.
The girl whimpered, making soft “mm” sounds, which snapped the man back to his senses.
Forcing himself to calm down, Fu Chenyan released her and continued feeding her the soup, his movements becoming gentler and slower.
Spoonful after spoonful, Li Muli only felt herself growing more intoxicated so gentle, so comfortable, and so sweet.
When the bowl was empty, Fu Chenyan wiped the traces of liquid from the corner of her lips and coaxed in a deep voice, “Good girl, let’s go take a bath.”
Li Muli felt as if she were drowning in his tenderness. She wrapped her arms around his neck and said in a coquettish tone, “I want more kisses.”
Fu Chenyan chuckled, rubbing his lips against hers, then nibbling and sucking on them, savoring her sweetness.
Fu Chenyan thought to himself: He was utterly, completely smitten. He wished he could cling to her every moment, kissing her endlessly.
She was so sweet.
Afraid that if he let his thoughts wander any further, he would lose control, he released her. “Alright, good girl, time for your bath. Otherwise, we might end up doing something else.”
Li Muli looked at him blankly. “Do what? Do what?”
“Do something that will make us both happy.”
“Really? Yay, yay!” Li Muli blinked her sparkling eyes, looking at him excitedly.
Fu Chenyan chuckled softly and coaxed in a low voice, “After you finish your bath, we’ll do it together, okay?”
“Okay,” the girl nodded obediently, completely unaware that she was like a little white rabbit who had stumbled into a wolf’s den.
“Hurry and help me change my clothes. I want to take a bath and play games,” Li Muli commanded, her eyes shining brightly.
Fu Chenyan watched as the girl stood obediently by the door, waiting for him to help her change. He desperately wanted to pull her into his arms and ravish her.
He wanted to hear her cry for him, call him “brother,” call him “husband”.
His so-called self-control was utterly worthless in front of her.
“Baby, do you need me to help you wash?”
Li Muli waved her hand dismissively. “No, no, I can do it myself. Big fool, you’re dismissed.”
A soft chuckle escaped Fu Chenyan’s throat. “Then, baby, summon the big dummy if you need anything.”
The girl’s figure was curvaceous yet delicate and petite. The man’s gaze grew increasingly intense, his Adam’s apple bobbing slightly.
The girl turned back to remind him, “After your bath, we have to play games together, okay?”
A light laugh rumbled in Fu Chenyan’s chest. “Alright, good baby.”
Li Muli gave him a big smile before finally heading into the bathroom with peace of mind.
Fu Chenyan sat outside the bathroom, handling documents, afraid he might miss if the girl needed anything.
A long time passed, and the documents remained untouched. Unconsciously, his thoughts had been captivated by the sound of running water from the bathroom.
The girl’s graceful figure, her shy and timid voice, the way she looked on the verge of tears, her slender waist, and the beautiful legs that wrapped around him, all of it tugged at his heart.
He knew just how sweet her tender lips were.
He seemed to understand now why emperors of old neglected their morning court sessions for their beloveds.
It was just that his little girl was too career-driven, always calmly setting him aside.
At this moment, the man completely forgot who it was that always clung to him, demanding kisses and hugs, wishing their lips would never part.
Of course, Mr. Fu would never admit it. Because he felt it was never enough.
“Ah!” Suddenly, a scream came from the bathroom. Fu Chenyan hurriedly stood up and knocked on the door. “Baby, what’s wrong?”
There was no sound from inside. Anxiously, Fu Chenyan asked, “Baby, if you don’t say anything, I’m coming in.”
A weak, muffled voice came from inside. “It’s nothing, don’t come in.”
Frowning, Fu Chenyan stood by the door, coaxing her. “Baby, tell me what’s wrong.”
Inside, Li Muli felt utterly mortified. Nothing was wrong, she had just sobered up while showering and all her memories came flooding back.
They say you lose your memory after sobering up. So why were her memories so vivid?
Who could tell her why?
Ugh, there’s no love left. Life is meaningless.
Who was that crazy person acting up in the car?
Who was that coquettishly calling him “husband”?
Who was that infatuated girl calling him “big brother”?
Who was that sweetly asking for kisses?
And who was that person seriously suggesting they play games with a certain man?
Ugh, right now, immediately, she needed to move to another planet.
While lost in her chaotic thoughts and regrets, Fu Chenyan had already pushed the door open and entered. Seeing the girl perfectly fine, he relaxed.
“Ah!” Another scream echoed in the bathroom. Li Muli’s face flushed even redder as she curled up in the bathtub, muttering, “Get out, get out.”
Seeing the girl’s flushed cheeks and clear eyes, Fu Chenyan coughed lightly to mask his embarrassment. “Sorry, baby, I thought something happened to you.”
“Get out now!” Li Muli was too embarrassed to face anyone.
Fu Chenyan stepped out, rubbing his reddened earlobes.
The girl’s cheeks were fair with a rosy tint, her skin as smooth and delicate as silk. He knew just how wonderful it felt.
But it seemed that water brought out her allure. Surrounded by roses in the bath, she looked even more like a seductive enchantress, tugging fiercely at his heartstrings.
All he wanted was to cherish her dearly.
Damn. Realizing his own improper thoughts, Fu Chenyan closed his eyes and called out to the person in the bathroom, “Baby, I’m going to take a shower first.”
The person inside paused in confusion before continuing to enjoy her rose bath.
When she came out, she saw Fu Chenyan sitting there with a gloomy expression, reading documents as if emitting a chilling aura. Instantly, she felt a bit panicked.
This has nothing to do with me, right? It has nothing to do with me, right?
But when the man saw the girl come out, he stepped forward to take her hand, only to withdraw it just before making contact.
Li Muli: ???
She pouted, feeling utterly wronged. He was so harsh, and now he was rejecting her.
Fu Chengyan looked at the girl’s drooping head and explained in a low voice, “I’m cold all over.”
Li Muli lifted her head and met his gaze. Seeing the tenderness in his eyes, she finally spoke in a pitiful tone, “I thought, I thought you were angry because I snapped at you earlier.”
“Wah, you didn’t hug me, and you didn’t call me baby.”
Fu Chengyan paused, unable to bear the sight of her looking so dejected. He pulled her into his arms and sat down on the sofa, explaining gently, “Baby, it’s my fault. Don’t be upset anymore, okay?”
He lowered his head and kissed her eyelids before continuing, “Baby, in my eyes, you can never do wrong.”
“I called you a big dummy earlier,” Li Muli muttered under her breath.
She had to strike first no way was she letting him settle scores with her later.
The man chuckled softly. “Mm, baby, I am a big dummy.”
Li Muli nestled in his arms, whining and grumbling. She was annoyed with him, yet she loved him so she decided to give him a little trouble.
Fu Chengyan watched her pouting and grumbling, then lifted her chin with a light laugh. “Then, baby, do you remember that you also called me ‘husband’?”
“I don’t remember!” she answered quickly, afraid to hesitate even for a second.
His deep, magnetic laughter sounded by her ear. “Baby, are you sure you don’t remember?” He leaned in as if to kiss her.
Li Muli covered her already-swollen lips and nodded rapidly. “I remember, I remember!”
“Then, baby, say it again.”
“Fu Chengyan, don’t push your luck!” Li Muli widened her eyes and glared at him.
Afraid of pushing her too far, Fu Chengyan softened his voice to coax her. “Sweetheart, I was wrong.”
“Darling wife, don’t be angry anymore.”
Li Muli: Deceased.
She had no defense against a man so devastatingly handsome whispering “sweetheart” in her ear. Mm, and calling her “darling wife” too.
“Husband,” Li Muli leaned in, pressing close to his ear, and whispered softly.
