From Trashy A to the Heiress’s Little Son-in-Law After the Idol Competition (GL, ABO) - Chapter 89
A faint smile played at the corners of Ji Yunuo’s lips, drawing murmurs from those around her.
“Is Young Miss Ji chatting with someone? She’s actually smiling.”
“Honestly, Young Miss Ji looks stunning when she smiles. She’s usually so cold, but when she does… wow, it’s like the earth reviving and everything coming to life.”
“Who else could it be but the young madam of the Ji family? Don’t you remember what Ying Yanyan told us the other day?”
The hushed whispers were unbecoming. Ji Yunuo’s expression cooled as she rapped the table. “Meeting.”
Several scenes were shot smoothly.
But Director Gu was troubled.
“Listen, Yan Jin, why would a perfectly good demoness from a cult suddenly time-travel to the 21st century, use her sharp instincts to become a private investigator, name her agency ‘Edogawa Conan,’ and team up with friends to form the ‘Revengers Alliance’ to fight aliens?”
Xiao Yanjin lounged on the rest chair, still immersed in her role, speaking in an archaic tone.
“Director Gu, you fail to understand. This young lady’s actions are merely to give the audience a grand surprise. Nowadays, TV dramas are either all about love—’I don’t love you, and you shouldn’t love me either’—or endless family dramas about fighting scumbags and mistresses. Where’s the novelty in that?”
Director Gu frowned again. “But will it work?”
Xiao Yanjin stood up, clasped her hands behind her back, and gazed at the moon. “Do you know what curiosity is? The weirder something is, the more the audience wants to know what happens. It’s like if your wife cheated on you—you’d want to know who she cheated with. It’s that simple.”
Director Gu: “…”
He knew the young madam of the Ji family was famously quick-witted, but did she have to use such an analogy? He gave her a thumbs-up. “You’re something else.”

The next day, just after finishing filming, Xiao Yanjin saw her wife’s messages—complete with several stickers—and couldn’t stop grinning.
—Just wrapped up filming!
—Wifey~
—Kisses!!!
Ji Yunuo had been in a sour mood at work, annoyed by employees who couldn’t get things done and left her to clean up their messes. But seeing Xiao Yanjin’s selfie instantly brightened her expression.
—Wifey, how does this one look?
Xiao Yanjin’s hair had been styled longer, adorned with several exquisite hairpins, the tassels accentuating the alpha’s delicate charm. She looked like a living painting, breathtakingly beautiful.
Seeing Xiao Yanjin in ancient attire for the first time was mesmerizing—like a spirited, soaring deer.
Ji Yunuo smiled. So beautiful.

—How about this one?
—And this?
Xiao Yanjin sent over a dozen stunning photos in one go, demanding Ji Yunuo’s opinion on each one.
Ji Yunuo didn’t mind the flood. Instead, she tapped on each image, opened them one by one, and saved them all.
Xiao Yanjin rarely took selfies. Occasionally, she’d post a batch for her fans on Weibo. Her natural beauty meant even casual shots looked filtered, drawing endless praise from fans who gushed over her, calling her “wifey” nonstop.
Ji Yunuo naturally made time to check those posts. Seeing fans call Xiao Yanjin “wifey” with such adoration made her uncomfortable.
Only she could call her that.
But she wasn’t idle either—she saved every photo. By now, her private album was filled with nothing but Xiao Yanjin’s stunning images.
She hadn’t told her that she’d saved so many pictures either.
Xiao Yanjin also didn’t mention that she had saved plenty of Ji Yunuo’s photos as well.
Even though they had been married for years, they still acted secretive about saving each other’s pictures—like it was thrilling yet guilt-inducing.
After chatting with Ji Yunuo for a bit, Xiao Yanjin got back to work.
The second female lead had arrived on set, stepping out of the makeup room.
The current filming location was a bamboo forest. Xiao Yanjin played Nan Gong Qingye, a demonic sect enchantress who had secretly wounded the sect leader in rebellion against his tyranny, only to be hunted down by her fellow sect members.
She had fled to this bamboo grove called “Youhuang.”
Meanwhile, the second female lead was the righteous sect’s holy maiden, sent to Youhuang to capture other demonic sect members. Unexpectedly, she encountered Nan Gong Qingye here and, mistaking her for an ally, engaged in a fierce battle.
Their struggle accidentally triggered a hidden formation within Youhuang, transporting them both to the modern era.
Admittedly, the plot was a bit clichéd, but it was still better than the original script’s endless cycle of “I love you, you love me, but then I don’t love you, so you don’t love me, and then I drag you off a cliff.”
Mu Rouxue wore a flowing white robe, holding a jade-green flute, her face partially veiled by a white mask. With her tall, slender figure and long, cascading hair, she perfectly embodied the cold, ethereal aura of a righteous holy maiden.
For a fleeting moment, Xiao Yanjin almost mistook her for Ji Yunuo—until Mu Rouxue called out, “Teacher Xiao, we’re starting.”
Only then did Xiao Yanjin snap out of it, realizing just how similar Mu Rouxue’s demeanor was to Ji Yunuo’s.
“Demoness, surrender now!”
Mu Rouxue delivered her line, thrusting her sword toward Xiao Yanjin.
Xiao Yanjin dodged to the side, but Mu Rouxue pressed the attack. The wire harness, however, couldn’t support an adult’s full weight.
Mu Rouxue lost her balance mid-move, flailing awkwardly before tumbling down—right onto Xiao Yanjin.
Thankfully, Xiao Yanjin was an alpha, or else the impact might have ruptured her organs.
“Damn it, get off me!” Xiao Yanjin shouted. Even though the person on top of her was a delicate Omega, this was the first time she had been in such close contact with anyone other than Ji Yunuo, and her entire body screamed with resistance.
Mu Rouxue’s assistant helped her up while muttering under her breath, “Honestly, Madam Ji is so rude. She should know you’re an Omega—no manners at all.”
The moment their bodies collided happened to be witnessed by Ji Yunuo, who had come to visit the set.
With Ying Yanyan absent and Qu Yanran out submitting paperwork, Xiao Yanjin had the audacity to get cozy with another Omega right in the open.
“Wife!” Xiao Yanjin, oblivious to Ji Yunuo’s darkening expression, rushed over for a hug—only for Ji Yunuo to step back and say coldly, “You’re drenched in sweat.”
Xiao Yanjin hastily stripped off her costume.
Ji Yunuo narrowed her eyes, studying the Omega. The woman’s aloof, otherworldly air was strikingly similar to her own—especially with the veil. From a distance, she could have been mistaken for Ji Yunuo herself.
Mu Rouxue stole a glance at Ji Yunuo. Though the two top-tier Omegas had yet to directly confront each other, the faint scent of gunpowder already hung in the air.
It wasn’t until Director Gu shouted at the crew that Mu Rouxue finally followed her assistant into the trailer.
Xiao Yanjin had already shed her red outer robe, leaving only the white inner garment—something akin to ancient sleepwear.
But Ji Yunnuo found it rather odd, feeling as though her alpha’s undergarments were about to be exposed to prying eyes. She quickly grabbed her suit jacket to drape over Xiao Yanjin, who barely had time to react before being pulled into the waiting van by Ji Yunnuo.
Director Gu and a few crew members exchanged glances, then chuckled knowingly.
The Ji family’s young miss had come to visit her precious little alpha.
The small table in the van was already laden with over a dozen dishes, all carefully selected by Ji Yunnuo for her.
Xiao Yanjin grinned. “Thanks for bringing me food, sis. By the way, how did you find the time to come see me?”
Ji Yunnuo propped her head on one hand, watching her with a sullen expression.
Xiao Yanjin handed her a pair of chopsticks, gesturing for her to eat together.
Ji Yunnuo had originally planned to share dinner with her, but after seeing that Omega, she was in no mood anymore.
“Was that Omega, Mu Rouxue, someone you picked?”
Even their conversation had to revolve around her.
Xiao Yanjin blinked, then laughed helplessly. “Since when do I have that kind of authority? President Zhang insisted on pushing her in. Our company invested a bit, and Director Gu thought she was pretty—figured there was no harm in taking her. So she ended up as the second female lead.”
Ji Yunnuo let out a faint “Oh.”
Xiao Yanjin knew exactly what was bothering her. She leaned in, nuzzling against Ji Yunnuo. “Sis, you’re not worried I’d fall for someone else, are you?”
“Of course not.” Ji Yunnuo refused to admit it, her pride showing. “I just don’t like how you were making eyes at her. It made me uncomfortable.”
Xiao Yanjin couldn’t fathom why she’d be making eyes at Mu Rouxue. The script had always been her solo show, and Mu Rouxue’s character barely had any scenes with her.
“Don’t worry, her role isn’t big. Honestly, there’s no real second or third lead—this is Xiao Yanjin’s grand female-led drama. Once it airs, you’ll have plenty to watch.” She reassured her, picking up some food and placing it in Ji Yunnuo’s bowl.
“Sis, if you’re feeling down, how about I feed you?” Xiao Yanjin glanced at Ji Yunnuo’s stomach and lifted the bowl. “What if the baby gets hungry?”
“Oh, so now you’re only worried about the baby going hungry.” Pregnancy hormones made moods unpredictable, and Xiao Yanjin was fully prepared.
She didn’t mind Ji Yunnuo’s temper—even if she wanted to hit someone, Xiao Yanjin was happy to take it.
“Of course not! If the baby’s hungry, it’ll hurt the mother. I don’t want you to suffer.” Xiao Yanjin’s sweet talk instantly coaxed a small smile from Ji Yunnuo.
“Since when did you become such a smooth talker?”
Xiao Yanjin tried feeding her, but Ji Yunnuo insisted she wasn’t a child and could eat on her own. Undeterred, Xiao Yanjin opened her mouth with an exaggerated “Ah—” and said, “Then feed me instead.”
This spoiled little alpha.
Ji Yunnuo wasn’t about to let her have her way.
“Don’t worry about Mu Rouxue. I barely know her, and I’ll keep my distance,” Xiao Yanjin added.
“Mm, I trust you.”
After dinner, with some time before Xiao Yanjin’s next scene, the two indulged in some affectionate cuddling.
“Hey, do you know what happened between He Rou and Shi Zhengyi in their rented place?”
“I don’t want to talk about them. Let’s talk about you instead.”
“How do you want to talk?” Ji Yunnuo tilted her head.
“Like this.” Xiao Yanjin caught her off guard, pressing a quick kiss to her lips.
Ji Yunuo refused to be outdone and kissed back. The two took turns, neither willing to lose face in this childish exchange. What shocked onlookers even more was that the esteemed Miss Ji would engage in such behavior.
“Young Madam Ji, I’m back.” Qu Yanran opened the car door only to find the two entangled—Xiao Yanjin’s face covered in a dozen lipstick marks while Ji Yunuo sat stiffly in the alpha’s embrace, casting her a slightly awkward glance.
Their relationship is truly something.
Blushing furiously, Qu Yanran slammed the door shut and shouted, “I’m sorry!!”
Xiao Yanjin: “…”
