From Trashy A to the Heiress’s Little Son-in-Law After the Idol Competition (GL, ABO) - Chapter 26
Xiao Ruohua was still gathered with those thugs, chatting and eating, saying things like they’d let Xiao Yanjin off this time but wouldn’t next time.
He emphasized that they had to beat Xiao Yanjin up badly, leaving her injured and unable to participate in the talent show. That way, the lucrative opportunity she had worked so hard for would be cut off by him!
“I watched that variety show before. That Miss Ji is so beautiful, I wonder how she tastes?”
“You dare even think about tasting her? Be careful, the Ji family will make sure you regret it!”
“But she’s so gorgeous. What alpha could possibly deserve her? What a waste of her beauty and body such a shame.”
A dozen of them drank in the abandoned steel factory, filling the room with vulgar, yellow-tinged words.
Then, the sound of footsteps slowly approached.
Xiao Ruohua turned around and saw Xiao Yanjin standing there.
“Oh? I haven’t even set the bait yet, and the prey has already come knocking. What’s the matter, Xiao Yanjin? Scared of my power and here to apologize?”
Xiao Yanjin’s face was calm, though not without disdain. She chuckled lightly. “I have to say, Xiao Ruohua, you’re supposed to be a rich young master, yet here you are in a place like this talking big. I heard you caught some disease abroad from fooling around, and your dad even cut your allowance in half after finding out.”
Xiao Ruohua froze for a moment before flying into a rage. “Don’t you dare spread lies! I don’t have anything!”
Xiao Yanjin tsked twice. “You’re in your twenties now, how many people have you slept with? You probably don’t even know. But you don’t care if they’re alphas, betas, or omegas, men or women. Catching something would be no surprise. The real pity is the girl your family arranged for you to marry.”
Xiao Ruohua had recently entered an arranged marriage with a wealthy family something his father had worked hard to secure. Naturally, he couldn’t mess it up.
If they found out he had some disease, not only would the marriage fall through, but his reputation would be ruined forever.
Killing intent rose in Xiao Ruohua’s heart. He immediately grabbed a fruit knife from the nearby table.
Xiao Yanjin had long known what kind of person he was. She smiled faintly. “I’ve already arranged for someone to send out the news unless I don’t walk out of this factory.”
Xiao Ruohua’s hand, gripping the knife, froze mid-air.
He forced a smile. “Yanjin, you know how close we were as kids. I’m sure you wouldn’t really do this, right?”
Xiao Yanjin couldn’t even be bothered to look at his slimy grin. She sneered. “Xiao Ruohua, didn’t you say before that there’s no family bond between us? Why bring it up now?”
Xiao Ruohua panicked. “I was just joking back then!”
Xiao Yanjin: “You sent people to ambush and bully me was that a joke too? If you want me to let you off, slap yourself twice in front of me and admit your mistake.”
Xiao Ruohua gritted his teeth. “Xiao Yanjin, don’t push your luck!”
Xiao Yanjin pulled out her phone. “Fine, I’ll have them send it out right now.”
Xiao Ruohua immediately slapped himself twice.
“Not loud enough!”
Slap!
“Still not loud enough!!”
Red handprints bloomed on Xiao Ruohua’s face. He whimpered, “Is this enough?”
Xiao Yanjin smirked coldly. “I heard every word you said earlier. Miss Ji’s reputation isn’t something you can tarnish! Someone as pure as jasmine, how dare you talk about her like that behind her back!”
Xiao Ruohua saw the fury on Xiao Yanjin’s face for the first time. He couldn’t understand how someone usually carefree and innocent-looking could become so terrifying when angry.
“Yanjin, Yanjin, we were wrong earlier. Please don’t tell anyone about this.”
Xiao Yanjin narrowed her eyes: “Do you know who told me about your affairs?”
“It was your former lackeys.”
Xiao Ruohua shook his head in disbelief: “Impossible. Only my father and I knew about this.”
Xiao Yanjin burst into laughter: “Though your father is known as a loving husband, how could you be so pathetic, Xiao Ruohua… I remember you had many followers when you studied here, but you kicked them away because they were too poor, treating them like dirt. Now they hate you to the core. Working at the nightclub, they happened to see you and eavesdropped a bit.”
“What do you mean?”
“Even if I don’t say anything, they’ll tell others.”
Xiao Ruohua collapsed in despair, and the gangsters immediately distanced themselves from him.
“He’s actually into that stuff? How terrifying.”
“We can’t associate with him.”
Xiao Yanjin clapped her hands and strode out.
Having lost on all counts, Xiao Ruohua flew into a rage. He grabbed a fruit knife and charged, shouting: “Xiao Yanjin, I’ll kill you!”
As Xiao Yanjin turned around, the knife was already before her. At the critical moment, a water bottle flew over and struck Xiao Ruohua’s neck. Reacting swiftly, Xiao Yanjin kicked out. Xiao Ruohua spread his arms like a giant bird, then flopped onto the ground like a leaping toad or more accurately, like a turtle on its back.
Xiao Yanjin doubled over laughing and launched into her signature verbal barrage: “Xiao Ruohua, is your brain located in your crotch? That stinky cucumber of yours is tiny and brittle, yet you keep flaunting that pathetic inch of flesh like it’s something special. People who don’t know better might think you’re showing off a tumor! Hahahaha! Those Omegas must be wondering if you shriveled up during puberty.”
Even as Xiao Ruohua writhed in pain on the ground, Xiao Yanjin kept up her relentless tirade.
Ji Yunuo frowned slightly until a deliberate cough from her finally made Xiao Yanjin stop.
With his neck twisted in pain, Xiao Ruohua howled: “Help! Help me up! I want to go home!!”
Everyone avoided him in disgust, too repulsed to approach.
The gang leader spat at him: “Disgusting man!”
Xiao Yanjin felt thoroughly satisfied. Glancing at the figure by the door, her heart fluttered slightly.
Under the twilight sky, the two walked along the road littered with scrap metal.
Pale golden light illuminated their faces, half in shadow, half in light.
The deserted setting was perfect for whispered confidences.
“Sister Nuo, why did you follow me?” Xiao Yanjin finally asked after a long silence.
Ji Yunuo answered truthfully: “I was worried about you.”
Xiao Yanjin blushed: “Ahem, I could have handled it.”
“I know, but seeing for myself puts my mind at ease.”
Xiao Yanjin thought: How does Sister Nuo say things more smoothly than I do? Is this really her?
“Xiao Yanjin, have you decided?”
“About what?”
“About debuting?”
Xiao Yanjin stopped and gazed into the distance for a long time before finally grinning at Ji Yunuo: “I’ll show you.”
The girl’s smile, bathed in golden light, resembled that of a high school student in the bloom of youth. In truth, she was only nineteen. Ji Yunuo found herself inexplicably moved.
Xiao Yanjin took a few steps forward, the golden light enveloping her as if she had emerged from a time tunnel.
She suddenly turned back: “Hey, could you help me get home?”
Ji Yunuo: “…”
Arriving at the Xiao residence, Xiao Yanjin noticed several more cars parked at the entrance. She rushed inside to find Xiao Xiren standing with a group of people, while Xiao Liangmu sat frozen on the sofa.
Xiao Yanjin asked coldly, “Where’s my mom?”
Xiao Liangmu replied, “She stole the property deed and went to Li Mei for a deal.”
Xiao Yanjin clenched her fists. Xiao Xiren patted Xiao Liangmu’s shoulder and sneered, “This house is as good as mine. If your mother gives the deed to her lapdog, don’t blame me for sending your father to the hospital!”
Xiao Yanjin glanced sideways and saw Ji Yunuo standing at the door.
Meeting her gaze, Ji Yunuo called out, “Let’s go get the property deed back.”
After they left, Xiao Xiren murmured, “Wasn’t that the Ji family’s heiress?”
His secretary wondered aloud, “Yes, but I thought the Ji family looked down on Xiao Yanjin. Why are they together?”
At Li Mei’s entertainment company, Xiao Yanjin stormed through the entrance. A security guard blocked her path: “What are you doing here? Get out!”
“Get lost!” Xiao Yanjin roared, startling the guard. By the time he recovered, she was already in the elevator.
“Excuse me, coming through,” Ji Yunuo said politely behind her. The crowd turned and froze, Xiao Yanjin was one thing, but Ji Yunuo too? What could possibly bring these two together?
Someone moved to call the police, but Ji Yunuo said coldly, “Don’t. Your boss’s private affairs shouldn’t become public knowledge.”
Xiao Yanjin kicked open Li Mei’s office door and locked eyes with Wei Ge inside.
With a cold laugh, she said, “So this is why you’ve been targeting me, you’re really one of Li Mei’s artists!”
Wei Ge turned pale and stammered, “I should go.”
Two guards rushed in but froze at Xiao Yanjin’s sharp “Don’t touch me!”
Xiao Yanjin turned to Li Mei, who was all smiles, and Liang Zhi, who looked anxious. She held out her hand: “The property deed.”
“If I don’t sell the house, Xiao Xiren will take it sooner or later!” Liang Zhi cried.
“I know, but Dad’s being held by Xiao Xiren now. He said if we don’t hand over the deed, he’ll beat Dad into the hospital!”
At this, Liang Zhi stood up in alarm.
Li Mei, seething with jealousy, snapped, “Fine, take the deed! Let’s see where you’ll live then!”
“Where I live is none of your concern.” Xiao Yanjin grabbed the deed and took Liang Zhi’s hand. Liang Zhi hesitated: “A-Jin, if we give the deed to Xiao Xiren, where will we go?”
“I’ve been making money inside, landed some endorsements. We’ll have enough for a better place.” As Xiao Yanjin reached the door, Ji Yunuo suddenly opened it.
Their eyes met, and everything around them seemed to freeze until Ji Yunuo spoke.
“Call Xiao Xiren. Tell him to come here to negotiate.”
Xiao Yanjin froze for a moment, seeming to understand her intention.
Xiao Xiren arrived with two bodyguards forcibly escorting Xiao Liangmu, who wore an awkward expression. Once the top playboy of the Xiao family whom no one dared disobey or bully, he now resembled fish on a chopping board utterly at others’ mercy! His former friends had either cut ties or drifted away, none treating him as human anymore.
“Wife.” Xiao Liangmu’s voice was laced with suppressed anger and sorrow as he glanced at Liang Zhi, then glared at Li Mei’s smug grin, his teeth grinding audibly.
Ji Yunuo’s eyes burned with intensity. “Release Uncle Xiao.”
Xiao Xiren sneered, “You’re the Ji family’s eldest daughter, right? Weren’t you the one who rejected the arranged marriage with Xiao Yanjin? Why help them now?”
Ji Yunuo countered, “Our families have generations of friendship. I have the means to assist, and my mother always defers to my decisions. If I choose to help Yanjin, she’ll support me.”
Pursing his lips, Xiao Xiren waved for the bodyguards to release Xiao Liangmu, who snorted and moved beside Xiao Yanjin.
Xiao Xiren extended his hand. “The property deed. Now.”
Before Yanjin could respond, Ji Yunuo declared firmly, “Apologies, but first come first served. I’m taking the house.”
Xiao Yanjin blinked in surprise at Yunuo’s resolute expression, her heartbeat inexplicably accelerating, cheeks flushing with unfamiliar warmth.
Both Xiao Xiren and Li Mei gasped. “You’re buying their property?”
Yunuo enunciated each word: “The. House. Is. Mine.”
“What?!”
Xiao Liangmu and Liang Zhi stared in shock.
Clapping enthusiastically, Xiao Yanjin boomed like thunder, “Bravo! Miss Ji’s decisiveness is admirable… Sold to you! Since Li Mei offered 300 million, I’ll give you a discount, 200 million.”
Ji Yunuo silently met her gaze. Discounts were unnecessary, she could easily afford the original 500 million valuation. The stunned silence broke when Xiao Liangmu hissed in Yanjin’s ear, “Have you lost your mind? Selling our home to outsiders?!”
“Unlike you, I’m perfectly sane.” Yanjin’s lips curled in icy mockery. “Your obsession with this property will destroy Mother and me.” She despised weakness, especially in spineless, incompetent men.
As Liangmu raised his hand, Yanjin intercepted it midair, her eyes glinting dangerously. “Dare strike me, you wastrel? After Grandfather’s sacrifices, you repaid him with gambling, drinking, and smoking just short of winning ‘Scum Alpha’ honors.”
Ji Yunuo listened quietly this was her first witnessing a daughter berating her father.
“You… call me a wastrel?!”
“A wastrel and a cowardly failure!” Yanjin’s words sent chills down Liangmu’s spine. This daughter seemed utterly transformed.
“Keep this up,” Yanjin warned, “and I’ll take Mother away, leaving you homeless. Starve or freeze, I’ll never visit again. From today, everyone obeys me.”
Liangmu finally lowered his hand, abandoning all property claims. When forced to choose between shelter and survival, pragmatism prevailed.
Xiao Xiren’s face turned deathly pale, a mix of shock and fury trembling through him as he stammered, “You… you, give me back the property deed!”
Ji Yunuo had already taken the Xiao family’s property deed. Glancing coldly at its contents, she said indifferently, “I’ll find a way to pay you back as soon as possible.”
Xiao Xiren tried to snatch it back, only to be blocked by a towering figure.
Ji family bodyguard Ade was a massive, imposing man, standing a full head and a half taller than him.
Ade: “Miss, my apologies for being late.”
Ji Yunuo straightened her expression: “It’s fine. You arrived just in time.”
Li Mei suppressed her anger: “The Ji family has no shortage of properties. Why is Miss Ji so fixated on the Xiao family’s house?”
Ji Yunuo lazily tossed back just three words: “I like it.”
Because I like it, no reason needed. Because I can afford it, so I’ll take it.
With that, she walked out.
Xiao Xiren watched as Ade and the other bodyguards formed a protective barrier behind Ji Yunuo, not daring to make a move. Meanwhile, Xiao Yanjin hurriedly rushed out, calling loudly, “Sister Nuo!”
The moment Ji Yunuo turned around, she was met with an embrace crashing into her.
Ji Yunuo’s eyes widened slightly, the person in her arms was burning hot.
Xiao Yanjin beamed with the brightest smile: “Sister Nuo, thank you.” She didn’t forget to tighten her hug.
Looking down, Ji Yunuo saw that radiant smile for the first time like a unique streak of sunset across the sky, so dazzling it made her hesitate. She… looked so beautiful when she smiled.
Ade was dumbstruck, debating whether to pull her away. He recalled how, once before, a wealthy second-generation heir named Ye Liangchen had merely brushed against Ji Yunuo’s sleeve and was promptly scolded into fleeing in tears.
But there wasn’t a trace of disgust in his mistress’s eyes now, so he silently turned away, choosing not to watch.
For some reason, Ji Yunuo’s hand still rested on Xiao Yanjin’s back like lovers in an embrace. Yet the next second, she harshly shoved her away.
“I don’t hug alphas.”
