From Trashy A to the Heiress’s Little Son-in-Law After the Idol Competition (GL, ABO) - Chapter 25
“Xiao Yanjin, what are you doing here?” she asked hesitantly.
“This is a family matter. It’s not convenient to explain.” Xiao Yanjin gently placed Ji Yunuo in the passenger seat, but Ji Yunuo stubbornly grabbed her arm, refusing to let go.
“What are you doing? Let me drive you home.” Fortunately, both the original owner and she had learned to drive.
But Ji Yunuo panicked, her beautiful eyes reddening as she suddenly gripped the steering wheel.
“No… I don’t want to go back.”
Xiao Yanjin was stunned. “Why?”
“They’ll skin you alive…” Ji Yunuo murmured weakly.
Xiao Yanjin froze. She knew the Ji family despised her, but this was downright vicious.
Ji Yunuo looked pained, letting out a few soft moans as she pressed a hand to her forehead, breathing unevenly, clearly drunk for the first time.
Perhaps it was even her first time drinking.
Would the usually aloof beauty really show such an uncharacteristic side under the influence of alcohol?
Her usual cold demeanor had melted away, replaced by increasingly expressive reactions. Her throat burned slightly, a sheen of sweat glistening on her snow-white neck and temples, clinging to her long hair like ink on paper, stark and mesmerizing.
The scent of alcohol in the car dissipated, soon overtaken by a faint, intoxicating floral fragrance.
It was Ji Yunuo’s pheromones, uncontrollably released in her drunken state.
Even the delicate hollow of her collarbone, usually pale and pristine, now carried a soft blush, like a shy peach blossom on the verge of blooming.
Xiao Yanjin’s heart skipped a beat.
Ji Yunuo’s lips parted slightly, the sharpness in her eyes fading as drowsiness took over. She was on the verge of falling asleep.
Xiao Yanjin leaned in closer, drawn to the source of the rose-like pheromones, a scent that captivated her even more.
In response, Ji Yunuo instinctively wrapped her arms around her.
“Ji Yunuo, you’re really bold, drinking outside like this.” Xiao Yanjin eyed her delicate collarbone, her teeth itching with frustration.
Ji Yunuo let out a faint whimper.
“Do you even realize you marked me yesterday? Then I messaged you at night, and you ignored me. I heard you left the training camp to go home. How could you just mark me and then disappear? Weren’t you the noble, untouchable Miss Ji? How can you mark someone and then act like nothing happened?”
Xiao Yanjin’s gaze turned fierce, a mix of wolfish intensity and childish indignation.
Only when Ji Yunuo was this out of it did she dare speak so boldly.
“At least others would pay up afterward. You didn’t give me anything not even a word.” Xiao Yanjin continued.
Back then, she had been in her sensitive period vulnerable and unable to resist when an Omega marked her.
Ji Yunuo listened hazily, letting out a soft hum, her body relaxing instinctively at the familiar scent.
Watching the beauty in this tipsy, bashful state, Xiao Yanjin couldn’t help but swallow hard.
There was no denying it when drunk, Ji Yunuo looked as if she were wearing a bold, alluring makeup, exuding a charm that seemed to beckon her closer.
Suddenly, Ji Yunuo sat up and pulled her into an embrace.
Xiao Yanjin’s eyes widened in shock.
In a pitiful voice, Ji Yunuo whispered, “Can you hold me tighter?”
A surge of warmth rushed through Xiao Yanjin’s chest. Just as she was about to return the embrace, the woman in her arms slumped back against the seat, her hair spilling loose, her long, snow-white neck even more dazzling than before.
Xiao Yanjin’s heart itched with longing.
She bent down again, missing her pheromones intensely after being marked.
The faint floral scent mingled with the aroma of alcohol, like an intoxicated butterfly amidst flowers, both alluring and dangerous.
Fortunately, it was only a temporary mark. Otherwise, her entire life would have been ruined by this Omega.
But upon reflection, being the first Alpha marked by someone as aloof and refined as Ji Yunuo didn’t feel so bad after all.
Her heart pounded wildly.
Xiao Yanjin had the urge to declare something.
“Nuo-jie, since you marked me, don’t even think about leaving me,” Xiao Yanjin whispered in her ear. Ji Yunuo couldn’t push her away, only letting out a faint, fragmented hum in response.
Until those hands touched the back of her neck then Xiao Yanjin snapped back to reality.
“No!” She jerked backward. What was she doing? The other woman was drunk, and here she was, taking advantage of the situation though she wasn’t even sure what she was trying to accomplish.
But back when she was in her rut, it had been Ji Yunuo who helped her, not someone scheming to mark her.
Xiao Yanjin grabbed a bottle of water and gulped down a large mouthful. The cold liquid helped clear her mind.
She touched the back of her neck, the gland had already subsided, though a faint scar remained.
She was fully awake now.
Yet her heart still raced uncontrollably. Strange, why had she felt that way earlier?
There was no way she could actually like Ji Yunuo.
Xiao Yanjin leaned in again, but this time, Ji Yunuo hooked an arm around her neck. Losing her balance, Xiao Yanjin tried to brace herself with her hands, but,
The place her hands landed!!
She had touched Ji Yunuo’s…
Ji Yunuo let out a muffled groan the impact was anything but gentle.
“Sorry, sorry!!” Xiao Yanjin frantically apologized. If Ji Yunuo told Wei Qin about this, Wei Qin would skin her alive!
But Ji Yunuo pulled her down again, and this time,
It wasn’t her hands.
It was her head!
Xiao Yanjin’s entire face plunged downward.
Holy!
A scent of roses and something cool and crisp filled the air, sending a shiver through Xiao Yanjin. But shame and panic made her scramble upright again.
At this moment, Xiao Yanjin desperately wished there were surveillance cameras in the car, otherwise, she’d never be able to clear her name.
Come to think of it, Ji Yunuo looked so slender, yet that area was surprisingly… well-endowed.
Xiao Yanjin pondered maybe she took after her mother.
The knit sweater was disheveled, revealing pale skin exposed to the air.
Xiao Yanjin averted her gaze, intending to straighten Ji Yunuo’s clothes.
But then, Ji Yunuo opened her eyes.
Xiao Yanjin’s hand was still hovering right over her chest.
“Pervert!”
A sharp slap landed on Xiao Yanjin’s cheek.
“Ah!”
When Ji Yunuo woke up, she found herself still in the car. The seat had been reclined, making it comfortable for sleeping.
The faint taste of sobering soup lingered on her lips. Her head ached slightly, but otherwise, she didn’t feel too unwell.
“You’re awake.” Xiao Yanjin sat in the driver’s seat, eyes slightly red, as if exhausted.
Strangely, there was a bright red handprint on her cheek, who knew what she had done.
“Why did you drink?”
Ji Yunuo’s expression remained indifferent, unwilling to answer.
“I didn’t know you even drank. If you can’t handle it, don’t force yourself,” Xiao Yanjin muttered beside her.
Ji Yunuo glanced at her arm and said, “You’re hurt.”
Xiao Yanjin was speechless. She glanced at her arm and noticed her sleeve was torn, with blood seeping from a scratch she must have gotten from a tree branch while running earlier.
After buying the medicine, Ji Yunuo carefully applied the ointment to Xiao Yanjin’s wound with a meticulousness that rivaled a nurse’s.
Xiao Yanjin hissed, “It hurts.”
Ji Yunuo replied coolly, “Then endure it. No one can bear the pain for you.”
Xiao Yanjin suddenly felt like Ji Yunuo had reverted to her usual cold, untouchable demeanor. Just moments ago, when she was drunk, she had been so different. An inexplicable sense of grievance welled up in Xiao Yanjin’s heart.
Ji Yunuo reached for the iodine again but lost her balance, nearly toppling over. Seeing this, Xiao Yanjin quickly moved to steady her.
Instead, they both ended up falling, though Xiao Yanjin managed to brace herself against the car door just in time to prevent them from pressing against each other.
Their eyes met one above, the other below and an ambiguous tension filled the air.
Xiao Yanjin could clearly see Ji Yunuo’s long lashes, her tempting red lips, and the shimmering depth of her gaze. Her heart skipped a beat.
“Xiao Yanjin.”
“Hmm?”
“How’s your neck?” Ji Yunuo asked, revealing that she still remembered the mark she had left on her before.
“It hurts,” Xiao Yanjin whined, pouting. Only now did she ask? “I even had to go to the hospital. I’ll need to apply medicine for a while. Sister, don’t you know how to mark someone properly?”
Ji Yunuo stayed silent, as usual.
“But what hurts more is my heart.”
Ji Yunuo: “…”
“You marked me, but the moment you sobered up, you went back to being cold and distant. Did you just decide to ignore me after marking me? And when I messaged you afterward, you didn’t reply at all. Who’s the real heartbreaker here?” Xiao Yanjin blurted out her grievances without realizing it.
She truly enjoyed being close to Ji Yunuo. At first, it had just been to provoke her fans into hating her. But over time, she had grown dependent on her though she didn’t even understand why herself. She just knew she didn’t dislike Ji Yunuo at all. In fact, she liked her… really, really liked her.
After that mark, she had thought their relationship would grow closer at least enough to become good friends. But when she messaged Ji Yunuo afterward, not a single reply came.
“You marked me,” Xiao Yanjin emphasized again. She had even teased Ji Yunuo before, saying that if she ever wanted to mark her, she’d gladly lie down and let her do whatever she wanted. Who knew it would actually happen?
Ji Yunuo remained indifferent, tilting her head slightly, though her face gradually flushed.
A greedy urge rose in her, she wanted to memorize Xiao Yanjin’s face completely. But then, Wei Qin and Ji Zhiye’s words from earlier flashed in her mind, and a dull ache settled in her chest.
Disappointed that Ji Yunuo still wouldn’t say anything, Xiao Yanjin turned away.
“I didn’t ignore you,” the woman beside her finally murmured, as if sighing softly.
Xiao Yanjin glanced back and huffed, “I don’t believe you.”
“You…” Ji Yunuo exhaled, but before she could continue, the alpha suddenly pinned her down. Ji Yunuo fell back against the seat while Xiao Yanjin hovered over her, their eyes locked once more.
Ji Yunuo’s heart raced. “Wh-what are you doing?”
“A bunch of people just walked by. We’re public figures, if they see an alpha and an omega alone in a car, won’t they assume we’re having a secret rendezvous? If your mom finds out, won’t she scold you to death?” Xiao Yanjin grinned, her puppy-like teeth white and bright.
Ji Yunuo averted her gaze. In truth, no one outside could see what was happening inside the car.
The crowd dispersed, and only then did Xiao Yanjin release her. The fair skin of her wrist bore faint red marks from the alpha’s grip.
“Wait, I think I forgot to ask you something,” Ji Yunuo suddenly said with seriousness.
“What is it?”
Ji Yunuo reached out and touched her face, the very spot that had been swollen from the slap.
Her hand was cool, but Xiao Yanjin didn’t pull away, letting her fingers linger.
She thought Ji Yunuo would ask, “Does it hurt?”
But instead, she asked, “Who hit you?”
Xiao Yanjin: “…” So you weren’t fully conscious back then.
A sudden idea flashed through Xiao Yanjin’s mind, and she began to act coy.
Ji Yunuo gave her a puzzled look. “What’s wrong?”
Xiao Yanjin averted her gaze, biting her lip, her eyes flickering as if the words were too embarrassing to say.
“Just say it.” Ji Yunuo couldn’t stand seeing her like this.
“It was my cousin,” Xiao Yanjin said, feigning distress, her voice trembling as if on the verge of tears. “Sister, my cousin and his father came back from abroad, trying to take my family’s house. I refused, and we argued. Then when I went out to eat, I ran into him and the thugs he hired. They surrounded me, wanting to beat me up, so I ran into your car to hide.”
“Sister, my family’s already bankrupt. I’ve been forced to take shady jobs just to survive, and now my relatives want to steal our home too. My life is so hard.” Xiao Yanjin exaggerated her story, partly to see if Ji Yunuo would help her deal with Xiao Ruohua.
But she didn’t actually expect Ji Yunuo to intervene.
To her own surprise, as she spoke, real tears welled up in her eyes.
She realized she had quite the talent for acting.
She noticed a flicker of sympathy and pity in Ji Yunuo’s gaze.
Xiao Yanjin laughed inwardly. So you’re capable of compassion too?
“Sister, I, Xiao Yanjin, swear you’re the kindest to me. It would be amazing if you could teach him a lesson, but if you don’t want to, that’s fine. I don’t want to trouble you.” She lowered her head, her voice soft and childlike.
But Ji Yunuo didn’t seem inclined to help. “I know they outnumber you. I can’t just call people to fight for you.”
Xiao Yanjin let out a disappointed “Oh.”
“After all, assault is illegal.” Ji Yunuo suddenly gripped her shoulders, her beautiful eyes turning cold and sharp. Xiao Yanjin was taken aback.
“But I can ruin his reputation. Doesn’t he have an engagement?” Ji Yunuo asked.
Xiao Yanjin nodded.
“Even better. If he doesn’t want his fiancée to find out, he must care about his image.” Ji Yunuo offered a reassuring smile and pulled out her phone.
“Sister, what are you doing?”
“I’ll find someone who might know some of your cousin’s secrets.”
Xiao Yanjin felt a twinge of guilt, though the corners of her lips curled faintly. “You’d really go out of your way to help me?”
“Who told him to hit you?” Ji Yunuo said casually.
Xiao Yanjin fell silent, an odd mix of satisfaction and remorse stirring inside her.
