From Trashy A to the Heiress’s Little Son-in-Law After the Idol Competition (GL, ABO) - Chapter 14
They arrived at the empty dance studio.
Ji Yunuo quickly had them assume their positions.
Xiao Yanjin sat dazedly on the floor.
Ji Yunuo lightly kicked her.
“Get up.”
“You teach them first.”
“Get up.”
“I’m so tired right now.”
Ji Yunuo shot her a cold glare, and Xiao Yanjin felt as if she had been transported to Antarctica—she stood up immediately.
“Watch the video and start dancing. Let me see how you’re doing.”
Jiang Nan and Zeng Heshi were a complete mess. Fortunately, Zeng Heshi had some prior dance experience, so her movements were slightly better than the other two.
Xiao Yanjin, on the other hand, was a disaster.
Xiao Yanjin: This is my first time dancing, okay? Be grateful I didn’t make you puke.
Ji Yunuo frowned. Is this really the C-class?
For three hours, Ji Yunuo meticulously corrected Jiang Nan and Zeng Heshi’s movements, tailoring their practice based on their flexibility and memory retention.
In just a short time, their dancing had improved significantly.
Xiao Yanjin, however, just wanted to slack off and get eliminated. There was no way she’d take this seriously—but Ji Yunuo’s glare was terrifying enough that she had to at least pretend. Luckily, Ji Yunuo was too focused on the other two to pay her any attention.
“Thank you for teaching us, Sister Yunuo.” At six in the evening, Jiang Nan and Zeng Heshi expressed their gratitude.
Ji Yunuo took a sip of water, her slender neck glistening with sweat.
Xiao Yanjin, still sitting on the floor, glanced over at her smooth, graceful lines and suddenly felt her heart skip a beat.
“Hey, Nan Nan, Heshi, she’s only a few months older than you. Isn’t calling her ‘sister’ a bit much?” Xiao Yanjin said, her tone laced with something unreadable. “I’m three years younger than her—I’m the only one who should call her ‘sister.’”
“You two go ahead and eat. If you have any questions, feel free to come find me.” Ji Yunuo ignored her.
As Jiang Nan and Zeng Heshi left, Xiao Yanjin patted her pants and grinned. “Well, Sister, I guess I should go too.”
“Wait.” Ji Yunuo’s voice was icy.
“What’s up?” Xiao Yanjin sensed trouble.
“They can leave. You can’t.”
“Why?”
“You still need to practice the theme song.”
“Hold on—you didn’t teach me earlier, and now you’re making me practice? After all these hours, aren’t you tired?”
Ji Yunuo curved her lips into a faint smile, her eyes unusually bright.
“Not tired.”
Xiao Yanjin: “…”
“Then why didn’t you teach me all at once?”
“Because your dancing is the worst. If I had taught you all at once, the other two wouldn’t have improved so quickly.”
“Good sister, I only came to you to help them find a skilled teacher. I don’t want to dance—just let me off the hook, okay?” Xiao Yanjin pleaded pitifully.
Ji Yunuo shook her head. “No.”
Xiao Yanjin huffed. You think I’ll listen just because you won’t let me leave? She turned to walk away but was immediately caught by Ji Yunuo.
“Trying to run?” Her gaze was frigid.
“Good sister, my legs feel weak.” And they really did—from sheer terror.
Ji Yunuo checked her watch. “You can leave at 10:30.”
“But I haven’t eaten yet.”
“Go eat, then. You’ll leave at 11.”
Xiao Yanjin: “…”
“Aren’t you coming with me? Aren’t you afraid I won’t come back?”
“I believe in you.” Hearing such sincere words from the Black-hearted Young Miss, Xiao Yanjin couldn’t help but ponder—what a terrifying strategy this was.
Xiao Yanjin snorted and ran straight out.
After dinner, she decided not to return.
But the moment she stepped into her dorm room, an uneasy feeling gripped her heart.
What if the other girl had been waiting for her all this time?
It was Xiao Yanjin who had invited her to teach Jiang Nan and Zeng Hesh in the first place—she already owed her a huge favor. How could she just leave without a word?
And she had even said she believed in her!!
Damn it!!
Xiao Yanjin hurriedly ran back, only to find Ji Yunuo sitting cross-legged on the floor, her tied-up hair now loose, cascading down with a fresh, soft fragrance. She lazily glanced at the time on her watch.
“You took thirty-six minutes to eat. We leave at 11:06.”
Xiao Yanjin twitched her lips. Was there still a chance for her to turn back now?
In the end, after some practice, Xiao Yanjin’s movements roughly matched Jiang Nan’s from before. She had previously mocked them for looking like a comedy duo, but now, watching her own actions, she couldn’t help but think she resembled someone doing the bunny hop.
Ugh, dancing is too hard.
“How are you positioning your legs?” Ji Yunuo crossed her arms and lightly tapped Xiao Yanjin’s calf, nearly forcing her into a split.
“Ahhh—Nuo-jiejie, my legs hurt!” Xiao Yanjin gritted her teeth.
“Dancing requires full-body movement. Pain is normal,” Ji Yunuo said indifferently.
“So… how am I doing now?”
“Do you want the truth?” Ji Yunuo rested her chin on her hand, deep in thought.
“Bad. Very bad. Exceptionally bad.”
“Are you rapping right now?”
“I’m just stating facts. You’re worse than those two earlier.”
“I still have some self-awareness, okay?!”
“Then you shouldn’t have asked so confidently.”
“I wasn’t being confident at all!!”
After two and a half hours, Xiao Yanjin was drenched in sweat. Truthfully, she had practiced street dance before, but to maintain the impression that she knew nothing, she had to start from scratch. Going through the routine, she realized the original owner’s body was incredibly stiff! Still, Ji Yunuo seemed to sense she had some foundation but didn’t press further—which was even better, since Xiao Yanjin couldn’t be bothered to explain.
“Just… half an hour more, and I can go back.” Xiao Yanjin lay flat on the floor, panting heavily. Compared to singing, she really hated dancing.
Ji Yunuo walked over and looked down at her. Under the soft lighting, Xiao Yanjin could see her sharp, delicate jawline, and for once, her cold expression carried a hint of gentleness.
Xiao Yanjin’s gaze drifted downward. Despite being only 172 cm tall, Ji Yunuo’s proportions were flawless—her legs were even longer than Shi Zhengyi’s. Though slender, she wasn’t bony, just perfectly balanced.
What kind of Alpha would an Omega like her even fall for?
Wait—why was she even thinking about this?! Whether Ji Yunuo liked Alphas or Omegas had nothing to do with her!!
“Done staring?” Ji Yunuo’s voice was icy, her gaze as cold as snow-capped mountains.
“Huh?”
“Get up. Keep practicing.”
“…Okay.” She wanted to cry.
Two days later, Jiang Nan and Zeng Hesh had basically mastered singing and dancing in sync.
Every day, they would cheer themselves on: “We must make it to the Top 15 and bring glory to the company!”
Listening from the side, Xiao Yanjin cringed in secondhand embarrassment. These two idiots!
Most of the other Class C members had already left when two shadows suddenly appeared at the door.
Ji Yunuo and Lan Yuanning walked in.
Though their styles were similar, there were noticeable differences between them.
Lan Yuanning had a cool yet gentle demeanor, while Ji Yunuo was more of an aloof, domineering type. Most people wouldn’t approach Ji Yunuo first when socializing—because she was cold from head to toe!
Xiao Yanjin chuckled. “Oh, look who’s here—two legends.”
Ji Yunuo couldn’t be bothered to glance at her. “I brought Yuanning here to help you guys out.”
“I just finished my dance practice, so forgive me if I’m a bit late,” Lan Yuanning said with a gentle smile.
At first glance, people often assumed she was aloof, but upon closer interaction, she turned out to be a sweet, soft-spoken older sister who was easily flustered.
Xiao Yanjin grinned. “Really? Then, Yuanning-jie, could you take a look at mine?”
“Who said she’s helping you?” Ji Yunuo shot her a cold glance. “Yuanning will assist Jiang Nan and Zeng Heshi. I’ll handle you.”
Xiao Yanjin blinked. “Why?”
Ji Yunuo didn’t mince words. “Because you’re the weakest. They can already dance through the whole routine in two days. You can’t.”
Xiao Yanjin: “…”
Over on one side, Lan Yuanning patiently guided the other two, while Ji Yununo remained expressionless.
Xiao Yanjin forced a laugh. “Fine, fine, I’ll dance, okay?”
The moment she stood up, her body ached unbearably.
Though she’d been slacking off these past two days, her long-neglected muscles were now protesting violently after being suddenly put to work.
Xiao Yanjin managed a few beats before Jiang Nan and the others had already finished their routine.
Jiang Nan gasped. “Yanjin, you’re still dancing?” Naturally soft-spoken, she didn’t mean it as a jab.
Xiao Yanjin bared her teeth—how was her battered body supposed to keep up?!
Lan Yuanning frowned. “Is this Xiao Yanjin’s first time dancing? She might have strained something.”
Ji Yunuo showed no intention of letting her stop. “It’s fine. She’s faking it.”
Xiao Yanjin’s eyes widened. Who could fake this kind of agony?!
By the time she finished, Xiao Yanjin was drenched in sweat. Even sitting down made her toes curl in pain!
Zeng Heshi handed her a bottle of water. “Here, Yanjin, drink some.”
Xiao Yanjin hummed in acknowledgment. After taking a sip, she suddenly shuddered and accidentally leaned into Ji Yunuo.
“Oops, sorry.” Xiao Yanjin couldn’t help but notice how soft she was—and how her cool, delicate fragrance lingered in the air whenever she got close.
Then, she deliberately leaned in again.
This time, the scent grew even stronger.
Xiao Yanjin suddenly wondered—wouldn’t it be blissful to rest in this sister’s arms?
Ji Yunuo said nothing, only brushing a speck of dust off her clothes.
“My grandma sent me some sweet potato strips. Here, everyone, try some.” Jiang Nan pulled out a ziplock bag from her backpack and passed them around.
Xiao Yanjin took a bite, the rich sweetness filling her mouth. She stole a glance at Ji Yunuo.
Ji Yunuo, who had clearly never eaten sweet potato strips before, eyed them curiously before deciding to try them—after all, they were a gift from someone’s grandmother.
Lan Yuanning was the first to praise them. “These are delicious. Your grandma is so thoughtful.”
Jiang Nan smiled shyly. “It’s my first time away from home. When my grandma heard I was going to be on TV, she was so excited.”
Lan Yuanning asked gently, “Where’s your hometown?”
“Yecheng.”
“What a coincidence. I’m from Yecheng too.”
“Really?” Jiang Nan flashed a puppy-like smile. “Then Sister Yuan Ning and I are from the same hometown!”
“We can even go back together when visiting home later.”
Xiao Yanjin suddenly thought Jiang Nan looked adorably youthful, perfectly fitting contemporary Omegas’ dating standards—especially the type that appeals to older sisters.
Just a few words had instantly raised Lan Yuanning’s favorability toward her.
Xiao Yanjin suddenly turned to Ji Yunuo and asked, “Sister, do you think I’m the kind of alpha that appeals to older sisters?”
Ji Yunuo didn’t understand why she was asking this but answered truthfully, “No.”
“Why not?”
“Because Omegas here aren’t very interested in you.”
Xiao Yanjin: “…”
“Then are you interested in me?” Xiao Yanjin whispered by her ear, just to catch the cool fragrance of her scent.
“I’m not interested in any alpha.”
Annoyed, Xiao Yanjin snatched the dried sweet potato from Ji Yunuo’s hand and huffed, “Not giving you any!” She then took a bite—right where Ji Yunuo had bitten earlier.
Ji Yunuo glanced at it and silently lowered her head.
She had to admit, Xiao Yanjin’s “puppy-like” charm was different from Jiang Nan’s.
Jiang Nan’s was completely harmless, the kind that made people instinctively want to protect her. Xiao Yanjin, however, carried a hint of danger in her sweetness—like the difference between an obedient puppy and a wolf cub ready to pounce. If you teased her, she might bite back, all while wearing a fiercely adorable expression.
