Forced to Live Together After Picking Up the Child of My Rival Alpha - Chapter 33
Song Yuan sensed that Yu Jin was in an odd mood, but couldn’t quite pinpoint what was wrong.
After pondering for a long while, she finally came up with a possibility: “Is Ajin watching her figure? I bought vegetables and chicken breast. I’ll make you a diet salad right now, just wait a moment.”
“No need!”
Yu Jin reached out and grabbed Song Yuan’s sleeve.
The more Song Yuan accommodated her like this, the more uncomfortable she felt.
What she wanted wasn’t guilt, but something genuinely meaningful.
Forget it.
Yu Jin composed herself and looked up, her eyes now calm and devoid of emotion.
Emotional control was an essential skill for an actress of her caliber, so Song Yuan didn’t detect the turmoil beneath that serene gaze.
“Alright then, drink some soup while it’s hot. It’ll get fishy once it cools down.”
Song Yuan sat down and added, “By the way, starting tomorrow, I’ll cook lighter meals. If there’s anything you don’t eat, just let me know. I may not be able to offer you immense wealth, fame, or power, but I can at least provide simple meals.”
She paused: “If you’d rather eat out, that’s fine too. I’m okay with it. After all, when I was alone, I couldn’t be bothered to cook either.”
“Luoluo can too!”
Luoluo raised her little spoon and said, “But Mommy’s food is so yummy.”
Yu Jin smiled, once again touched by Luoluo’s cheerful and expressive nature.
“Really, it’s fine.”
Whatever the reason, Song Yuan was genuinely good to Luoluo, and that was enough.
In the evening, after Yu Jin finished washing up, she came out to find Song Yuan reading a storybook to Luoluo.
If before, during the parent-child program, she might have been putting on a show or trying to impress her, the fact that she was still doing it now proved that she had always been reading to Luoluo like this.
Not wanting to disturb them, Yu Jin turned to leave the room.
“Mommy,”
Luoluo looked up and called out to her, “Where are you going, Mommy?”
“To rest in the guest room.” Yu Jin didn’t think there was anything wrong with her response and continued walking out.
“But…” Luoluo hesitated.
“Go ahead, it’s okay.”
Song Yuan encouraged Luoluo to express her thoughts, gently guiding her: “Only when you tell us can we understand what you’re thinking. After all, everyone thinks differently. If you don’t say it, we won’t know and we can’t guess.”
Luoluo’s gaze gradually grew determined: “Since Mommy and Mama are married, why don’t you sleep together? On TV, married people have a wedding night and sleep together.”
Yu Jin felt slightly embarrassed. She hadn’t considered this issue.
If she had known, she wouldn’t have agreed to stay. Getting married was already a last resort, but sleeping together.
The mere thought of sharing a bed made her lips dry and her heart race, involuntarily bringing back memories of their previous intimate moments.
What should she do!
Song Yuan was also a bit flustered but quickly came to the rescue: “Luoluo, married people don’t necessarily have to sleep together every day. Everyone needs their own space, right?”
“Before we got married, we both slept alone, so it’s fine to sleep separately.”
Hearing this, Yu Jin felt relieved. With Song Yuan’s silver tongue, she should be able to placate Luoluo.
Unexpectedly, Luoluo still shook her head: “No! Luoluo wants to sleep with Mommy and Mama, even if it’s just on the sofa.”
Luoluo was referring to that night during the program when Yu Jin had lost control due to her pheromones.
For Luoluo, that was truly the happiest moment she had experienced in years.
She had been overjoyed when her mothers got married earlier that day, thinking they could all sleep together like this at night. She never expected Yu Jin would have to leave.
Her disappointment was palpable her glassy eyes lost their sparkle as she looked bewilderedly between Song Yuan and Yu Jin, unable to understand why they couldn’t all share the bed.
Neither Song Yuan nor Yu Jin could bear to see Luoluo so crestfallen.
Song Yuan tentatively suggested, “How about we all sleep together?”
At those words, a glimmer of light returned to Luoluo’s eyes. She gazed at Yu Jin and murmured softly, “Mommy, sleep.”
“Alright,” Yu Jin conceded with a sigh, releasing a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. After all, it wasn’t as if they hadn’t done this before.
Luoluo’s face immediately brightened. She scooted over and patted the space beside her, saying, “Mommy, here.”
Then she wriggled down under the covers and lay flat, declaring cheerfully, “Mom on the left, Mommy on the right hehe, Luoluo is the happiest baby in the world!”
In the past, Luoluo would never have expressed her needs and thoughts so clearly.
Seeing everything moving in a positive direction, Yu Jin felt it was all worth it.
Luoluo didn’t even want a bedtime story anymore. With one hand hooked around her mom and the other around her mommy, she lay excitedly between them for a long, long time before finally drifting off to sleep.
As for Song Yuan and Yu Jin, having an extra person in bed still felt somewhat unfamiliar.
Breathing in the distinct scent that belonged uniquely to Song Yuan, Yu Jin felt a dryness in her throat. Fortunately, her pheromones remained under control, sparing her some embarrassment.
After what felt like a long while, Luoluo began to breathe evenly, emitting soft, contented purrs like a cozy little kitten.
Hearing those soothing sounds, both Song Yuan and Yu Jin relaxed and soon fell asleep as well.
In the middle of the night, Song Yuan woke with a start, feeling something tightening around her throat. She instinctively grabbed and flung it away, only to hear Luoluo burst into terrified sobs.
Song Yuan jolted fully awake and switched on the bedside lamp. She then discovered that Luoluo, who usually slept so peacefully had her head resting on Yu Jin’s stomach and her little foot pressed against Song Yuan’s face.
The “choking” sensation had been Luoluo’s foot!
This was the kind of deep, relaxed sleep that only came from utter contentment proof of just how happy she had felt that day.
Yu Jin was also startled awake, momentarily flustered. She had never been good at comforting children; whenever Luoluo cried, she would usually just hold her quietly, though sometimes she couldn’t help feeling frustrated.
Not because she lacked love, but because she felt helpless and that helplessness frustrated her.
Luoluo, in fact, wasn’t fully awake.
Song Yuan gathered Luoluo into her arms, gently patting her bottom and humming a soft, unfamiliar melody.
Her voice, low and tender, was a stark contrast to her striking beauty unassuming yet deeply reassuring.
A faint smile touched Yu Jin’s lips as she lay down on her side, watching Song Yuan soothe their child.
If only Song Yuan had remembered everything back then or if she herself hadn’t been so angered by her sudden transformation from an Alpha to an Omega, and had instead calmly talked things through with Song Yuan. Would those toughest days right after giving birth have been as peaceful as this moment?
Would Luoluo have grown up more cheerful than she was now, instead of crying at the slightest disturbance?
But there were no “what ifs.”
Even now, she couldn’t fully accept the reality of having become an Omega.
Frustrated, she turned over, turning her back to Song Yuan and Luoluo.
But Song Yuan’s low, gentle voice not only calmed Luoluo once more but also unknowingly lulled her to sleep.
Yu Jin, who hadn’t slept well in years, surprisingly overslept!
By the time she woke up, the sun was already high in the sky.
She sat up abruptly and looked back, the bed was empty, with no trace of Luoluo or Song Yuan.
However, she could hear noises coming from the villa’s courtyard.
Barefoot, she walked to the window and drew the curtains. In the small garden below, Song Yuan and Luoluo were already stretching and doing morning exercises.
Song Yuan had a strikingly beautiful face, with deep-set features and peach-blossom eyes that sparkled with charm. Every smile and glance carried an irresistible allure.
Her figure was fiery full-chested and slender-waisted. As she stretched during the exercises, her waist appeared so delicate it seemed one could encircle it with a single hand. If she weren’t an Alpha, she would undoubtedly be an Omega who could captivate every Alpha.
Even Yu Jin herself had once been unconsciously drawn to her, but because both of them were Alphas, they had restrained themselves out of consideration for their identities.
That was why, five years ago, when she got drunk, the first person she wanted to find was Song Yuan. She just never expected what would happen later.
Yu Jin suddenly felt a wave of heat coursing through her body. She immediately turned and headed to the bathroom to take a cold shower, which made her feel somewhat better.
It seemed that ever since their intimate encounter the other day, her pheromones had stabilized significantly. Although she still occasionally felt physically overheated, it was now within a controllable range.
At least, there had been no flare-ups in the past three days.
Was she really unable to live without Song Yuan? She raised her hand and splashed water on her face.
Before she could finish her thoughts, Luoluo’s voice sounded from outside the door.
“Ah, where did Mommy go?”
Then came the sound of Luoluo’s footsteps as she wandered around.
Song Yuan, with her sharp hearing, picked up the sound of running water and said, “Mommy must be taking a shower. Let’s go downstairs and prepare breakfast first, okay? That way, when Mommy finishes washing up and comes down, she can immediately feel our overflowing love.”
“Really?” Luoluo’s voice was tender and adorable. “If Mommy feels Luoluo’s love, she’ll love Luoluo back, right?”
“Luoluo, that’s not quite right!”
Song Yuan said gently, “Mommy has always loved Luoluo. She just doesn’t know how to express it.”
“Ah, then what should Luoluo do to make Mommy express it?”
The voices of Luoluo and Song Yuan grew fainter, likely because they had already gone downstairs.
Only then did Yu Jin realize that the corners of her lips had unconsciously curled into a smile.
Startled by her own reaction, she quickly finished washing up and went downstairs.
Song Yuan had prepared breakfast, but in Yu Jin’s portion of the salad, she had used vinaigrette dressing, while Luoluo’s had sesame dressing.
Clearly, Song Yuan had done her homework and asked about her preferences.
Such attentiveness and thoughtfulness made her feel appreciated, yet also uneasy.
If it was out of guilt, it really wasn’t necessary!
But as these words reached her lips, hearing Luoluo’s laughter, she couldn’t bring herself to say them.
After finishing breakfast, she stood up immediately and said, “I’m going home to pack my things.”
Song Yuan immediately looked troubled. “This, I’m sorry, A Jin, but I can’t go with you to pack your things.”
Yu Jin raised an eyebrow slightly, and Song Yuan quickly explained, “It’s not that I don’t want to go with you, A Jin. Sister Weiwei called me this morning and told me to lay low and avoid going out, so I don’t get caught by the paparazzi waiting outside. So?”
“Okay, I understand,” Yu Jin said, feeling relieved.
“When will Mommy be back?” Luoluo jumped down from her high chair and ran to Yu Jin’s side, tugging at her pants. “Luoluo doesn’t want Mommy to leave.”
Song Yuan came over and picked up Luoluo: “Mommy is going home to pack some things and bring the essentials, then she’ll never leave again. Then we can be together with Luoluo forever and ever.”
Only then did Luoluo look at Yu Jin with pleading eyes: “Mommy, please hurry. Luoluo will miss Mommy.”
As she spoke, she stretched out her soft, adorable little face toward Yu Jin: “Luoluo loves Mommy. Give Luoluo a kiss before you go!”
Yu Jin froze. This wasn’t the first time Luoluo had sought affection from her, but it was indeed the first time she had expressed and asked for it so openly.
While Yu Jin was still stunned, Song Yuan had already carried Luoluo closer.
Before Yu Jin could react, Luoluo gave a loud kiss on her cheek.
“Since Mommy isn’t taking the initiative, Luoluo has to do it herself. Mama, did Luoluo do the right thing?”
Luoluo giggled, melting both Yu Jin and Song Yuan’s hearts.
Seeing Yu Jin’s usually aloof expression soften, Song Yuan seized the opportunity to encourage Luoluo.
“That’s right, Luoluo! You did well! If we want a certain outcome, we need to express ourselves clearly and directly so the other person knows what we want and can respond.”
Luoluo immediately clapped her hands cheerfully, then turned and gave Song Yuan a loud kiss.
“Luoluo loves Mommy, and Luoluo loves Mama. Mama loves Luoluo, and Mama loves Mommy. Mommy loves Luoluo, and Mommy loves Mama.”
Children’s words are innocent and unfiltered.
As if some hidden thought had been exposed, Yu Jin forced an awkward smile, neither answering nor refuting. She practically fled in a panic.
Song Yuan sighed as she watched Yu Jin’s disappearing back. That little wildcat ran faster than a rabbit!
Song Yuan let Luoluo play nearby while she went to clean up the dishes.
But before long, the doorbell rang.
Song Yuan checked the time. Although she had scheduled a housekeeping service for today, it shouldn’t be this early.
Could it be that Yu Jin had forgotten something?
She wiped her hands and walked over in her slippers. Before even opening the door, she said with a smile, “Ah Jin, if you need anything, just call me and I’ll bring it over. Who are you?”
Song Yuan frowned.
Outside stood a stranger she had never seen or met before, dressed in a professional blazer with a neat short haircut.
“Miss Song, hello. I am the assistant to the CEO of Juxing Media. My name is—”
“Stop, enough!”
The moment Song Yuan heard the words “Juxing Media,” she raised her hand to cut off the other person. “I have no interest in knowing your name.”
“Miss Song, the CEO is waiting outside for you. There’s an important matter to discuss! Please come out with me.” the assistant continued.
“I don’t know any CEO of Juxing Media. You’ve got the wrong person!”
Song Yuan made a move to close the door, but it was forcefully pushed open, causing her to stumble back a step.
She looked up and saw the woman who had pushed the door open. Her peach-blossom eyes shimmered like water, her chestnut-colored wavy hair cascaded down, her skin was as fair as snow, her lips as red as fire. Her figure, wrapped in a silk dress, was curvaceous and alluring, and her slender, delicate legs were accentuated by a pair of high heels.
This was an Alpha who could make countless Omegas fall for her, yet she had ultimately chosen a wealthy second-generation Omega for money. She was also the one who had caused her mother to die of sorrow.
Song Zhishuang!
She had actually come in person!
Song Zhishuang took a step forward, the click-clack of her high heels making Song Yuan’s temples throb.
Song Yuan reached out to block her: “Trespassing into someone’s home, I can sue you!”
She was afraid of startling Luoluo, but Luoluo had long since hidden herself out of sight.
Song Zhishuang lifted her chin and scanned the room, then turned her head with a pair of peach-blossom eyes strikingly similar to Song Yuan’s. Her red lips parted as she said, “Yuan’er, it seems you’re not doing very well. Jingjiang Villa is Mom’s property. If you come back with me, you can choose any of the riverside villas there.”
Mom? Her mother had long been gone.
Song Yuan’s face darkened like water: “Madam, I think you’ve mistaken me for someone else. My mother died long ago!”
Instead of getting angry, Song Zhishuang gave a light laugh, tucking her long hair behind her ear to reveal her delicate profile.
With just one look at that face, it was clear who Song Yuan had inherited her looks from!
“Then let’s call the police,”
Song Zhishuang smiled radiantly: “Let everyone know that you are my daughter!”
Song Yuan knew how thick-skinned Song Zhishuang was and that she was fully capable of doing something like this.
Her own reputation was already in tatters. If any more scandals broke out, Sister Weiwei would probably bury her with a shovel.
“Alright,” Song Zhishuang took half a step back but remained at the doorway, not fully retreating. “Setting that aside, a guest is a guest surely you can offer a glass of water. Why not invite me in to sit down and talk slowly?”
“There’s nothing to talk about,” Song Yuan replied coldly. “I know what you’re thinking. I won’t go back with you, and I won’t let you take Luoluo away!”
Hearing this, Song Zhishuang wasn’t angered but instead smiled: “You’re married, isn’t it only right for your partner to meet their elder?”
She pulled a box from her handbag and extended it toward Song Yuan: “I even brought a gift, the Star Sea Marrow, just auctioned last month. It’s worth millions, a rare treasure.”
“She doesn’t need it,” Song Yuan turned her head away without even a glance, though her eyes caught sight of Luoluo hiding in the distance.
Luoluo was trembling in the corner, her lips pale with fear. Song Yuan couldn’t show any sign of yielding, or Luoluo’s psyche would surely suffer a heavy blow.
“You and Yu Jin, two Alphas together, what future is there in that? If you want, the Omegas at Juxing Media are yours to choose from. Whatever type you desire, you can have Or if you wish, Juxing Media itself could be yours!”
Song Zhishuang continued persuasively: “Return to your roots, and as soon as you come back, you’ll have immeasurable wealth, endless beauties and fine wine. It’s for your own good.”
Luoluo trembled in the corner and accidentally knocked over the trash can.
Song Zhishuang turned around, offering a gentle smile: “And it’s good for Luoluo too! Luoluo, come here, let Grandma hold you!”
Luoluo bolted up the stairs, tripping over the steps in her panic, showing just how terrified she was.
Song Yuan’s heart ached for Luoluo, but she couldn’t show it too obviously.
Song Zhishuang was cunning and manipulative; the slightest weakness would become a handle she could use against her.
So Song Yuan maintained a calm expression: “That’s our own business. As long as we think it’s suitable, it has nothing to do with anyone else.”
Even after being rejected, Song Zhishuang showed no anger, her expression unchanged, but her words carried a subtle hint of threat.
“You and Yu Jin are both prominent figures in the entertainment industry, but Juxing Media controls half of it. If I take action, you won’t have it easy! That said, I don’t approve of your marriage. You two should divorce as soon as possible. No matter who Luoluo’s mother is, you can bring her back with you! Otherwise…”
She paused, her peach-blossom eyes glinting coldly: “Yu Jin, don’t even think about continuing in this industry!”
“Hah.”
Realizing she couldn’t be threatened directly, they were now using Yu Jin against her. Song Yuan laughed in anger: “You threatened me the same way five years ago. You schemed behind the scenes and blacklisted me for five years, so what? I’m still perfectly fine now! You couldn’t control me five years ago, and you won’t succeed now. Don’t even think about threatening me!”
With that, Song Yuan slammed the door shut.
Song Zhishuang reacted quickly but still got her toes caught by the door. It hurt.
Furious, her eyes twisted with rage: “Song Yuan, since you refuse to listen to reason and choose punishment over courtesy, don’t blame me for being truly ruthless!”
For a long moment, there was no response from inside the room.
Song Zhishuang stamped her foot angrily, turned to her assistant, and said, “Amo, keep a close watch on Song Yuan and Yu Jin’s movements. Report to me at any time!”
With that, she turned and left.
