Forced into a Secret Marriage with the Villain, We Now Have a Child - Chapter 7
Jian Chun came out of the bathroom after a soak, only to find Yu Siyi packing a suitcase.
In an instant, Jian Chun understood what was happening, and a wave of joy surged within her. Restraining the excitement in her voice, she asked, “Are you going somewhere?”
Yu Siyi stood up. “I have to go to City A for a trip.”
Jian Chun was so stunned she almost couldn’t speak. Talk about a “pillow being delivered just as you’re getting sleepy”!
“You’re starting work soon,” Yu Siyi said. “I’ve prepared your flower tea; remember to ask Auntie Wang for it before you leave. And throat lozenges—take them to school. I’ll call you. If you don’t take care of yourself, you just wait and see…”
Yu Siyi shot her a look.
Jian Chun wasn’t really listening to the nagging; she was too preoccupied with her own plans. She interrupted, “How long will you be gone?”
“At least half a month,” Yu Siyi replied.
Jian Chun’s face fell. Only half a month? She felt a bit dejected.
However, in Yu Siyi’s eyes, that look appeared to be reluctance to say goodbye. She wrapped her arms around Jian Chun’s waist. “I’ll try to come back early.” After saying that, she imprinted a kiss on Jian Chun’s cheek, making Jian Chun jump back in surprise.
Yu Siyi laughed. She looked beautiful when she smiled; her eyes curved like crescent moons, and under the light, her long lashes trembled like cicada wings, casting shadows on her luminous skin.
Jian Chun, used to Yu Siyi’s cold, stoic face from the past, wasn’t entirely immune to this smile. She felt her own mood involuntarily brightening along with Yu Siyi’s laughter.
Suddenly, she felt even more conflicted. She looked away, gave a perfunctory nod, and picked up a cup of water to hide her expression.
Yu Siyi finished organizing her things and turned off the main lights. “Let’s sleep. I have to wake up early tomorrow.”
“Oh…” Jian Chun didn’t care. Since Yu Siyi was leaving early, it had nothing to do with her. She set her cup down, but her eyes drifted to the bed.
She instinctively grabbed a quilt to go sleep on the sofa, but the moment she laid it out, Yu Siyi caught her hand.
“You sleep on the bed.”
Jian Chun looked at her for a long time. “Really?” She’s being this nice?
Yu Siyi reached out and flicked Jian Chun’s forehead.
Jian Chun rubbed her forehead, immediately tossed her pillow at Yu Siyi, and scrambled onto the bed, pulling the covers over herself.
The night was exceptionally quiet. Having exhausted her brain cells earlier and finally had a “talk” with Yu Siyi, Jian Chun was relaxed. She fell asleep almost the second her head hit the pillow.
In the room, a figure rose silently from the sofa. Guided by the moonlight from the window, she moved slowly to the bedside. She pulled up the quilt, lay down on one side, and turned to wrap her arms around the other woman’s waist.
When Jian Chun woke up, Yu Siyi was already gone.
Downstairs, Auntie Li had breakfast ready. “She seemed tired lately,” Yu Siyi had told Auntie Li earlier. “Keep an eye on Niannian and try not to let her bother Jian Chun. School starts soon; make sure she doesn’t oversleep and that her things are packed.”
“Miss, you’ve said that so many times,” Auntie Li had replied helplessly. Though there were two nannies, Niannian was a handful, and Jian Chun often felt like she hadn’t grown up herself. It felt like their “Miss” was raising two daughters, pampering them both to no end.
Jian Chun woke up in high spirits. Yu Siyi had kept her word! Separate beds were just the first step. Once the feelings faded, asking for a divorce wouldn’t be hard.
She stretched, folded her quilt neatly, and trotted downstairs.
“Auntie Li, when did Yu Siyi leave?” Jian Chun asked to be sure.
“The 6:00 AM flight,” Auntie Li said, bringing over breakfast.
Jian Chun nodded. It had been two hours. She had a lot to do. Before she transmigrated back—or before she left Yu Siyi and resigned—she still had to be a responsible teacher. She had her notes and recordings from Yu Siyi’s physics lesson, ready to sacrifice herself for the “flowers of the motherland.”
Just as she finished eating, the doorbell rang. Jian Chun went to open it and froze.
Zhu Feifei.
Yu Siyi’s best friend. In the past, when Yu Siyi was too cold to speak, Zhu Feifei was her spokesperson. Jian Chun had argued with her many times, with a 50/50 win rate. She hadn’t expected to see an old acquaintance.
Zhu Feifei was wearing a white down jacket and a bright red scarf. Seeing Jian Chun, she flashed a smile.
Jian Chun’s brow furrowed. Compared to Yu Siyi, she got along even less with this woman.
“Move aside, don’t just stand in the doorway. Isn’t it cold?” Zhu Feifei pushed her way in and hung her coat as if she owned the place.
Auntie Wang greeted her warmly. Jian Chun watched from the side, feeling uncomfortable.
“Oh, look at that face. All unhappy. Who are you pouting for?” Zhu Feifei teased. “Hey, Siyi’s only been gone for half a day. Do you miss her that much already?”
Jian Chun’s expression grew colder. Auntie Wang brought tea and snacks.
Zhu Feifei sat on the sofa and Jian Chun followed, keeping her distance. “What are you doing here?”
“Coming to keep you company,” Zhu Feifei said, grabbing the remote. “School starts in two days, doesn’t it? Your ‘other half’ was afraid you’d be bored at home alone.”
Jian Chun sipped her tea in silence. The whole world thinks I’m with Yu Siyi, but I’m the only one who doesn’t. It was a headache.
Zhu Feifei leaned in with a mischievous grin and whispered, “I heard you’ve been a bit ‘cold’ lately? Do you need me to recommend a doctor?”
“Keep it for yourself,” Jian Chun snapped.
“I’m certainly not cold,” Zhu Feifei winked.
Jian Chun rolled her eyes. Zhu Feifei seemed used to this and whispered again, “If you ask me, you need to keep a tighter grip on Siyi. You’re both still young—don’t let some random person steal your spot.”
Jian Chun thought: If Yu Siyi cheats, won’t my divorce be even easier?
She replied sincerely, “Let them steal it then.”
Zhu Feifei looked at her in shock. “Since when did you become so generous?”
“I’ve always been like this.”
“So this is the ‘Primary Wife’s’ poise, huh?” Zhu Feifei said, bewildered. “You weren’t this generous with all those ‘entanglements’ around Siyi before.”
Jian Chun squinted.
Zhu Feifei got serious. “But this latest scandal is coming on a lot stronger than the others. He’s a superstar, not like those little internet celebrities from before.”
Jian Chun was listening calmly until a word caught her attention. “Scandal?”
“Tsk, you busy people. Haven’t you seen the news about the drama Siyi just filmed? They say the male lead is pursuing her.”
“Male lead?” Jian Chun felt something was off. Isn’t Yu Siyi supposed to have inherited the family business? Why is there a scandal? Does the family business involve the entertainment industry?
Zhu Feifei saw her confusion and explained, “Yeah, Rong Zhen. He’s had scandals with that actress you like before. He’s been very popular lately, nominated for Best Actor several times.”
Jian Chun hesitated. “Then Yu Siyi…”
“Finally worried?” Zhu Feifei interrupted. “The rumors online are everywhere.”
Jian Chun’s mind was a mess. She took out her phone and typed three words into the search bar: Yu Siyi.

An actress? She didn’t inherit the family business? Yu Siyi is a celebrity?!
Huh?!
