Forced into a Secret Marriage with the Villain, We Now Have a Child - Chapter 54.2
The office was full of praise for how well-behaved and beautiful Niannian was, with many teachers lamenting their own “troublesome” children. Jian Chun pulled Niannian aside. “How did you get here? Did Uncle Liu drop you off?”
“I came in by myself!” Niannian puffed out her chest proudly, then leaned in to whisper, “Mother dropped me at the gate.”
Jian Chun couldn’t help but smile. She sat Niannian down to do her homework while she finished her own work.
As dinner time approached, Jian Chun ran into Yi Xueyang in the hallway.
“Going somewhere? Don’t tell me you’re not eating with me,” Yi Xueyang said, patting her shoulder.
“Auntie!” Niannian called out.
Yi Xueyang immediately scooped her up and showered her with kisses. “If Jian Chun doesn’t want to eat with me, I’ll just take Niannian home with me.”
“She’s a child, not a cat,” Jian Chun teased.
“I have some things to take care of,” Jian Chun added. “I need to drop off the kid.”
“Just have your driver come down and join us,” Yi Xueyang suggested.
Jian Chun looked at her, desperately wanting to tell her that the “driver” today was someone who would cause a city-wide traffic jam and crash Weibo if she stepped out of the car.
They walked to the car, and Jian Chun helped Niannian inside.
“I’ll eat with you here today,” Yu Siyi said from the driver’s seat.
“You want to eat here?” Jian Chun repeated.
“Why? Do I need an appointment?” Yu Siyi joked.
“Aren’t you afraid of being recognized? You’ve been circling the school for days. If someone catches you, you’re finished,” Jian Chun warned.
Yu Siyi watched Jian Chun with a tender gaze. “You’re worried about me.”
“…”
“Don’t worry,” Yu Siyi said. “If I was going to be caught, it would have happened already.” She knew her presence wasn’t exactly a secret in the industry, but with her family’s backing, most media outlets knew better than to cross her.
When Yu Siyi moved to get out of the car, Jian Chun panicked and blocked the door.
“I rarely get to eat with you at home,” Yu Siyi said, her eyes—identical to Niannian’s—looking pained and pleading.
Jian Chun sighed and pointed to Yu Siyi’s sunglasses. “Put them on.” Then she pointed to her hair. “Tie your hair up and hide it under the hat.”
“Everything as you say,” Yu Siyi agreed obediently.
Jian Chun signaled Yi Xueyang to go ahead and grab a table at the Lin Family eatery.
Inside, the shop was busy. Owner Lin had started a specialized soup business ever since Yu Siyi had ordered a daily tonic for Jian Chun, and it was a hit.
Yi Xueyang ordered a variety of dishes—sour, sweet, bitter, and spicy—to satisfy Jian Chun’s vague request. She was sitting at the table, watching a clip of Yu Siyi’s latest drama, Zhuang Yun Lu, on her phone when Jian Chun walked in with “the driver.”
Yi Xueyang stood up to greet the driver she assumed was Uncle Liu, but she froze.
“You… got a female driver?” Yi Xueyang asked, looking at the tall, slender woman behind Jian Chun.
Jian Chun just smiled. She knew Yu Siyi wanted to be acknowledged by her friends, even if it felt unnecessary.
The “female driver” set Niannian down and took off her hat and sunglasses. She extended a hand with a gentle smile. “Hello. You’re Yi Xueyang, right?”
Yi Xueyang’s brain short-circuited. She stood there, expressionless, in total shock.
“Yu… Yu Siyi?” she stammered.
The woman in front of her had her hair in a high ponytail—a far cry from her usual “goddess” image—but her features were unmistakable.
“Are you okay?” Yu Siyi asked with concern.
Jian Chun chuckled as she picked up Niannian and sat her in a chair. Yi Xueyang looked back and forth between the two women. Is this real?!
“Did you order?” Jian Chun asked nonchalantly.
Yu Siyi sat down next to Niannian. Yi Xueyang, her face flushed as if she’d had a drink, sat next to Jian Chun, her eyes still glued to Yu Siyi.
“Should I re-introduce you?” Jian Chun teased.
“No, no… I believe it now,” Yi Xueyang whispered.
The bustling street outside and the noise of the shop felt miles away. Yi Xueyang’s phone was still on the table, currently playing a scene where Yu Siyi’s character makes a grand, beautiful entrance.
Yu Siyi glanced at the video and then back at Yi Xueyang. “You’re Chun-bao’s friend, right?”
Yi Xueyang swallowed hard, trying not to faint. “Yes, Goddess… I am.”
Yu Siyi seemed amused by her reaction.
“Goddess… are you and Jian Chun also friends?” Yi Xueyang asked, her face splitting into a grin.
Yu Siyi’s eyes sparkled. She delivered the line she had been preparing for a long time: “I am pursuing Jian Chun.”
“??!” – Yi Xueyang. “…” – Jian Chun.
Yi Xueyang took a deep breath and looked at Jian Chun with newfound awe. Damn, girl. You’ve got a superstar bowing down to you!
Then, she remembered something. “But… Goddess… Jian Chun is already married… you…”
She couldn’t finish the sentence. Does the Goddess have a thing for married women? Is she trying to make Teacher Jian have an affair?
Yu Siyi froze, then broke into the widest, most genuine smile Yi Xueyang had ever seen. She even showed her teeth, which looked incredibly cute.
“I’m married to her,” Yu Siyi corrected.
Yi Xueyang’s world turned upside down. “To her?” She turned to Jian Chun.
Jian Chun nodded, trying to look poised. “Mm.”
Initially, she hadn’t wanted to expose their marriage, but seeing Yi Xueyang’s reaction, she felt a strange sense of satisfaction. The Goddess you’ve been dreaming about is my legal wife.
Yi Xueyang’s brain could only process one thought: Contract marriage leading to true love?!
She felt like a wilted plant. The jealousy was real. I want that too!
Yu Siyi watched Yi Xueyang’s changing expressions. She had previously been jealous of how close Yi Xueyang was to Jian Chun, but now, she felt a sense of pride in “marking her territory” in front of Jian Chun’s best friend.
