Forced into a Secret Marriage with the Villain, We Now Have a Child - Chapter 4
Only two words escaped from the woman’s soft, pink lips.
Jian Chun looked at Yu Siyi’s face. The moment their gazes met, her eyes involuntarily drifted downward, finally settling on those thin lips. She still remembered the texture of those lips and the fluttering heartbeat they had triggered in her.
Taking a deep breath, her chest heaving significantly, Jian Chun said coldly, “Yu Siyi, I don’t want to be this close to you.”
Hearing Jian Chun address her by her full name, Yu Siyi paused for a moment, the mood from a moment ago dissipating quite a bit.
“Is it because you were too tired last night, hmm?” Yu Siyi asked.
The concerned tone hit Jian Chun’s ears like oil on a fire. The atmosphere, which had briefly cooled, instantly reignited, roasting Jian Chun through and through.
If you’re going to talk, just talk! Why do you always have to bring it back to that?
“I just don’t want to,” Jian Chun muttered, her head lowered. She had originally intended to flare up in anger, but facing this version of Yu Siyi, she unexpectedly found herself unable to do so.
While being held, she could see the other’s curves just by looking down. Their legs brushed against each other, and certain physical impulses stirred within her. Saying “I don’t want to” felt like she was slapping her own face. Her body was extremely sensitive to Yu Siyi.
Coming to this conclusion didn’t make Jian Chun feel any better.
She thought Yu Siyi would take a step back, but instead, she heard her ask, “Chun-bao, have I lost my charm?”
Jian Chun’s heart skipped a beat. “Yu Siyi!”
Seeing that Jian Chun was genuinely getting angry, Yu Siyi compromised. “Then I won’t tease you until so late in the future.”
Jian Chun’s mood fluctuated wildly. It was obvious that the other woman really seemed to love her. It made her head ache with frustration.
As if deliberately trying to provoke her, Yu Siyi added, “I’m fine with anytime.” After saying that, she pressed a light, audible kiss to the corner of Jian Chun’s mouth.
Jian Chun: “…”
Only when Yu Siyi turned away did Jian Chun truly let out a breath. Now, not only did her head ache, but her stomach also felt tight from irritation. She had been at odds with Yu Siyi for an entire month—she was used to their antagonistic stance. How did it end up like… this?
She even briefly considered the cost of leaving Yu Siyi. She didn’t dare think further.
After Yu Siyi finished her shower, Jian Chun went in for a soak. The bathroom door was closed, and when she tried to lock it, she found there wasn’t even an option to do so. What was even more terrifying—and something Jian Chun hadn’t noticed—was that the bathroom door was visible from the outside.
Her startled eyes darted through the glass door toward the person outside. Seeing Jian Chun looking over, Yu Siyi glanced back and gave her a smile beautiful enough to kill.
Jian Chun: “…”
She wanted to curse. She shouldn’t have been overthinking just now; she should have looked at the other woman first so she wouldn’t be the one losing out!
She covered her face. She was becoming too shameless. How could she have such thoughts?
Jian Chun drained the water, turned her back to the door, dried off, and quickly dressed in a two-piece pajama set she had brought in. Even if they had to share a bed, this felt safer.
The bed was huge. There was only one quilt—thick and heavy, perfectly covering the entire mattress. This time, without waiting for Yu Siyi to invite her, she charged toward the bed.
Once under the covers, she scooted toward the very edge. When she felt the other woman get into bed, she slowly scooted a bit further, like a tiny snail.
However, the moment she moved, she heard the person beside her move as well. Jian Chun went silent, ears perked, listening to the subtle rustling.
Yu Siyi’s body pressed against Jian Chun’s back, her arms encircling her waist. As Jian Chun’s core tightened and her heart raced, a pair of warm hands unexpectedly slipped under the hem of her pajama top.
They settled there as if they intended to stay.
Jian Chun dared not move. Even her breathing became long and shallow. So, even these pajamas aren’t safe?
She thought she wouldn’t be able to sleep, but listening to the breathing by her ear, she quickly fell into a deep slumber.
Jian Chun woke up around 7:00 AM, likely due to her internal clock. She pulled the covers over her head and went back to sleep, eventually waking up for real at 9:00 AM.
The weather was great; the sun was out, and the snow was beginning to melt. After lounging for a bit, she kicked out her foot to find the person next to her, only to find the spot empty. She rolled from the left side of the bed to the right, reaching the edge.
As she squinted at the ceiling, she thought about how to leave without facing retaliatory strikes. She hadn’t actually hated Yu Siyi that much at the beginning; she’d even felt a sort of mutual respect. However, Yu Siyi had proceeded to crush Jian Chun’s tiny ego into dust.
She stopped dwelling on it, got up, dressed, and went downstairs for breakfast.
The two nannies were already moving about. “Up so early?” one asked with concern.
“Mhm. What’s for breakfast?”
“Niannian said she wanted fried dough sticks (youtiao), so we made those. I also prepared preserved vegetable cakes (meicai bing) and salted duck eggs for Miss. What would you like, Ma’am?”
“Miss” referred to Yu Siyi. Jian Chun raised an eyebrow. She likes meicai bing?
Hearing the menu, Jian Chun realized she was hungry. She nodded and scanned the room. Not seeing the little girl, she asked casually about her.
“Niannian is doing her homework; Miss is watching her,” the nanny said.
Jian Chun nodded. From yesterday to today, she had met most of the household. The nannies, Auntie Wang and Auntie Li, were both in their late forties or fifties. they were gentle, good with kids, and good at cooking. Jian Chun called them “Auntie” as well.
Auntie Wang brought over half a dough stick, a palm-sized cake, half a salted duck egg, and a bowl of green vegetable porridge. The aroma from the kitchen filled the dining room.
By the time Jian Chun finished, she felt a bit too full. “Auntie Wang, give me a bit less next time.” She stretched, feeling her stomach bloating slightly. Auntie Wang smiled kindly, nodded, and went back to the kitchen.
A moment later, Yu Siyi brought Niannian down. Yu Siyi followed beside her as Niannian navigated the stairs herself, carefully watching each step due to her height. Yu Siyi didn’t carry her; instead, she held onto the hood of Niannian’s jacket to prevent her from tripping.
Yu Siyi caught a glimpse of Jian Chun below and flashed her a soft smile. Jian Chun looked away, feeling restless.
Outside, the spring sun was melting the snow. Niannian wanted to build a snowman. She asked Yu Siyi politely, then ran over to ask Jian Chun.
“Mama, do you want to go?”
Niannian tugged at her hand. Those two chubby little hands holding onto Jian Chun’s fingers looked incredibly adorable. Jian Chun, who usually lacked patience for children, stood up. “Let’s go.”
Niannian gave a wide smile and led Jian Chun outside. Yu Siyi followed, and Niannian, understanding the assignment, reached out her other hand to hold Yu Siyi’s. The scene looked perfectly harmonious.
Jian Chun glanced at Yu Siyi. She hadn’t expected her to be so patient with a child. As she turned her head, she collided with Yu Siyi’s amber eyes, which seemed ready to pull her into their depths.
Soon, Jian Chun had no time to think.
Stepping outside, the warmth was sucked from her body. She shivered, feeling the chill. Wind blew through the corridor; she tucked her neck into her collar and squeezed the child’s hand tighter.
This place was like a small manor with a private yard of about a hundred square meters—just right for them. Niannian, dressed in bright red, let go of them and scrambled into the white snow like a little firecracker.
With Niannian gone, the small gap between them vanished. Jian Chun wanted to move away, but her fingers were seized by Yu Siyi. Slowly, inch by inch, Yu Siyi’s grip traveled from her fingertips to her palm, locking their fingers together.
Jian Chun looked down at her captured hand. She gritted her teeth and tried to pull away, but the other woman held on tighter.
If this were a normal pursuit, I might be shy, Jian Chun thought. But this person skipped all the steps and went straight to third base!
Starting from where they were joined, a spark of fire seemed to spread through her body, making her feel utterly uncomfortable.
“Hey, enough already,” Jian Chun whispered.
“Acting spoiled again,” Yu Siyi replied.
Jian Chun licked her dry lips. It felt like punching a bale of cotton—no impact whatsoever. Yu Siyi squeezed her hand a few times and then stuffed it into her own coat pocket, forcing them close together.
Niannian, wearing gloves, wasn’t afraid of the cold. She packed the snow into one little ball after another. Yu Siyi, in high spirits, knelt beside Niannian, and Jian Chun was forced to bend down with her.
Jian Chun glared at Yu Siyi, but the latter’s smile only widened.
“Niannian, what are you making?” Jian Chun asked.
Niannian looked quite proud, pointing at two large snowballs. “This is Mother and this is Mama.” Then, pointing to a smaller one in the middle, she said, “This is me and the little sister.”
After speaking, Niannian looked at them with sparkling eyes.
Jian Chun felt like she had fallen into a pit. “Where did a sister come from?”
At the same time, Yu Siyi asked, “Does Niannian want a little sister?”
Niannian nodded excitedly. “With a little sister, I’ll have someone to play with!”
Yu Siyi’s smile was as bright as spring. Her breath was warm against Jian Chun’s ear from just inches away as she looked at her with laughing eyes.
Jian Chun’s heart skipped a beat, and her palms began to sweat. She was going crazy. Her self-control and composure in the face of Yu Siyi were starting to crumble.
Niannian looked up at her with innocent eyes. Yu Siyi’s pinky finger hooked against Jian Chun’s palm as she said, “Chun-bao, Niannian wants a little sister.”
“What does that have to do with me?” Jian Chun blustered, her cheeks burning hotter.
“Let’s have one,” Yu Siyi said nonchalantly.
Jian Chun bit her lip. “Have one yourself!
