Fell In Love With My Older Sister’s Friend - Chapter 109
Xu Luwei shouldn’t have agreed to her request.
She never lacked a personal assistant, and even if she did, she wouldn’t hire Yi Liang, such a young girl.
But as Yi Liang stepped forward, the silver bell on her wrist jingled, unsettling Xu Luwei. The young girl gazed at her with warm enthusiasm: “Just for a one day trial, okay, big sister?”
As if by some magic, Xu Luwei nodded blankly.
The alcohol flushed her cheeks red, her figure as graceful as the first peach blossom of early spring.
She turned and unintentionally pushed the window open. The night wind from the high rise buildings was piercingly cold. Xu Luwei instinctively retreated, stumbling into the girl’s soft, warm embrace.
Yi Liang had never expected such a surprise. Feeling the soft, fragrant warmth in her arms, she couldn’t help but hold on tighter.
Looking up, Xu Luwei met the girl’s phoenix eyes, so focused and fervent, like a blazing fire.
It reminded her of the beautiful color of red wine in a stemmed glass subtly consuming the heart, bewitching the soul.
The first task Xu Luwei gave Yi Liang was to take her home.
Since she had been drinking, she couldn’t drive, so the two walked.
Yi Liang now had a legitimate reason to support Xu Luwei. The snowy road was slippery, and the cold wind stung their faces. After a few steps, Xu Luwei started to feel drowsy.
The company’s performance was excellent this year, and her position was solidified. At only twenty-four years old, she had achieved what others envied.
But at that bustling year end party, even the interns had little companions to whisper to, while she had to sit on the high platform, maintaining a faint smile.
It was lonely at the top, and behind the boundless scenery was immense solitude.
But she had long been accustomed to walking alone, only today was a bit different the young girl’s bells were a little noisy.
Whenever her starry eyes grew heavy, the clear, crisp ringing would startle her awake, prompting her to take a couple more dazed steps forward.
Yi Liang was initially holding her arm loosely, but as Xu Luwei swayed more, she used more strength.
Holding only one arm meant she couldn’t attend to the other side. Yi Liang gritted her teeth and asked directly: “How about holding hands?”
She added a concealing phrase: “It’ll be easier to support you.”
Xu Luwei looked up at her hazily, the vulnerability that was never shown in her eyes now completely exposed under the streetlights.
Yi Liang extended her hand toward her, looking pure and harmless. The bracelet on her wrist shone beautifully, which Xu Luwei recognized she had put on her herself.
The woman’s long, delicate hand was thus held in Yi Liang’s palm. The young person’s heat was strong, warming her slightly cool hand very quickly.
There weren’t many people on the street; their boots crunched on the snow. Yi Liang carefully held Xu Luwei’s hand, unable to hide the joy on her face. She kept glancing at the woman beside her, as if holding the best treasure in the world.
Even when drunk, Xu Luwei’s face remained flawlessly bright and beautiful, making one feel it would be blasphemous to look too long. Yet, the slight flush on her earlobes was like the tip of an unripe peach, making one want to lean in and take a bite.
Over the short distance, Yi Liang’s palm was scorching hot, and so was her heart.
The desire to get close to Xu Luwei had been an impulse, but now that they were making progress, she suddenly didn’t know what to do next.
Even just holding hands like this, she felt completely content.
Even if she were to die right there in front of Xu Luwei, she would be willing.
Xu Luwei’s apartment was close. After arriving upstairs, Xu Luwei slowly opened the door, leaving Yi Liang standing outside.
Xu Luwei turned back and looked at her with blurred eyes: “Why aren’t you coming in?”
Yi Liang said: “I don’t have slippers.”
Xu Luwei turned around to find some for her. Living alone, she searched the shoe cabinet for a long time and slowly pulled out a spare pair of her own slippers, handing them to Yi Liang.
Standing at the doorway, Yi Liang felt the warm air gushing out of the apartment. Tense, her gaze fell upon Xu Luwei.
Bending over, her hip hugging skirt was tight and extremely form fitting, accentuating her round, smooth curves.
Yi Liang gasped, holding her breath.
