Fell In Love With My Older Sister’s Friend - Chapter 100
The sky was clear, and the young girl by the osmanthus tree was momentarily stunned, her smile sweet: “Thank you for your kindness, senior.”
Such a frank answer, coupled with Xu Luzhi’s guileless eyes, instantly gave Zhao Ru the illusion that she was trying to lure a child away, even though Xu Luzhi was already much taller than her.
But hearing “thank you” in response to a confession was certainly not a good sign.
She swallowed, and asked a little nervously, “You… what do you mean?”
A silence followed, so deep that the only thing left in the air was the sweet, rich fragrance of osmanthus, so thick it couldn’t be dispersed, to the point where one could even hear the faint sound of petals dropping from the branches.
Intentionally or unintentionally, Xu Luzhi glanced down at the smart watch on her wrist, then looked up in Lin Qingyue’s direction.
Lin Qingyue gasped, hurriedly hiding herself further behind the stairs, afraid of being caught red-handed by Xu Luzhi.
Her movement was too sudden and fast, causing her arm to scrape against the railing. A patch of red instantly appeared on her snow white, milky skin, but Lin Qingyue was oblivious to the pain, only concerned with concealing her figure.
She lightly bit her crimson lip, hunched over beneath the stairs, peeking out from the corner. She could vaguely make out Xu Luzhi’s silhouette.
Lin Qingyue finally remembered that the senior who confessed to Xu Luzhi was Zhao Ru, who had pursued Xu Luzhi from high school to university.
A beautiful, intelligent girl, lively and brave, consistent from start to finish.
She had even gone to Capital University for Xu Luzhi’s postgraduate studies, silently accompanying her growth all along.
A girl like Zhao Ru must be a very suitable match for Xu Luzhi, Lin Qingyue thought.
Much better than someone like herself unattached and possessing only beauty.
Although she tried hard to convince herself of this, Lin Qingyue felt waves of bitterness, and an inexplicable urge prompted her to announce openly: “I am Xu Luzhi’s girlfriend.”
Unfortunately, she was the one who initiated the breakup; she no longer had any reason to rush out and stop anything.
Lin Qingyue lowered her long lashes, her peach blossom eyes misty, her shoulders trembling slightly, looking exceptionally delicate.
It was unclear whether she was crying or not.
After a long silence, the young girl’s clear and clean voice traveled through the air, distinct and firm: “Sorry, senior, but I already have a girlfriend.”
Lin Qingyue’s heart jolted, and she couldn’t help but lean out to look. She saw Xu Luzhi turn and sweep her long hair back with one hand.
On the girl’s fair and slender neck, a tattoo was clearly visible.
It was a snow-white gardenia, shaped into a semicircle, on the left side.
Lin Qingyue subconsciously touched the back of her own neck, and without needing to recall, she clearly remembered the shape of a crescent moon.
The gardenia and her crescent moon, when pieced together, formed a full circle moon.
Almost instantly, the impact hit her, and tears streamed from Lin Qingyue’s eyes. In that mix of complex emotions, she couldn’t articulate what she felt.
She remembered that Xu Luzhi didn’t have a tattoo before.
That meant Xu Luzhi got it after she proposed the breakup.
She was afraid she wasn’t good enough for Xu Luzhi, so she broke up yet, the girl patiently and tenderly conveyed, in this permanent way, that:
She would give Lin Qingyue a full moon.
The ancients said in poetry, “Like a ring that grows full one night, then wanes every following night,” implying that incompleteness is more common for the moon.
But Xu Luzhi stubbornly proved that the moon will become full.
As long as she was there, she would keep Lin Qingyue shining brightly.
Lin Qingyue’s thick lashes were covered in tears. In a daze, Zhao Ru seemed to have been driven away, and the young girl stood still, turning towards her direction, extending her hand: “Are you still hiding, Jiejie (older sister)?”
Xu Luzhi stood by the osmanthus tree, the sunlight brilliant, her smile faint, just like the beautiful weather Lin Qingyue had seen amidst the blood that day.
Only by Xu Luzhi’s side was there such brilliant sunshine, warm enough to melt away all the sorrow in her heart.
Lin Qingyue slowly walked out and murmured, “I still am.”
Still needing to hide in her little girl’s embrace, enveloped in warmth.
“Then can we hug?” Xu Luzhi cooed softly, as if the breakup had never happened, her smile utterly pure.
“Yes.” As she fell into Xu Luzhi’s arms, Lin Qingyue deeply inhaled the sweet scent of the girl’s presence, a fragrance she had long missed, one she desperately wanted to smell again even in her restless dreams.
The woman leaned quietly against Xu Luzhi, extremely docile, her back gently heaving with sobs. Overcome with emotion, tears finally streamed down her face.
Xu Luzhi gently wrapped her arms around Lin Qingyue, deliberately avoiding the injury on Lin Qingyue’s back, continuously murmuring comfort: “It’s okay, Jiejie, it’s okay now, Jiejie, I’m here…”
She looked up, her eyes filled with a touch of melancholy, her gaze dropping to her watch, which clearly displayed Lin Qingyue’s location.
Distance: 0 meters.
She thought she would never see Lin Qingyue this close again.
It wasn’t that Xu Luzhi hadn’t gone to see Lin Qingyue.
Even while burdened by her thesis pressure, when Lin Qingyue’s location updated to a hospital in Weicheng, she finally couldn’t hold back and bought a plane ticket without hesitation.
She didn’t go to see Lin Qingyue directly. Instead, she subtly inquired about Lin Qingyue’s condition from a nurse.
It was classified as a minor injury in criminal terms, but in reality, she was quite severely hurt, resulting in insufficient qixue (vital energy/blood) and constant sleepiness.
Lin Qingyue was alone in the hospital, with no one to care for her. Seeing her listless appearance on the hospital bed, like a withered rose, made Xu Luzhi’s heart ache.
Xu Luzhi bought ginseng and chicken, slow cooking them in a small pot at the hotel, delivering the meals to Lin Qingyue three times a day.
But she only handed them to the nurse and then watched quietly from a corner as Lin Qingyue ate and drank.
She watched the woman’s face regain its color day by day.
Lin Qingyue spent most of her day sleeping, even frowning in her dreams with a look of slight terror.
Xu Luzhi couldn’t bear it any longer out of sheer heartache. While Lin Qingyue was fast asleep, she quietly moved to her bedside and pulled her into an embrace.
As if sensing a familiar warmth, the breathing of the woman in her arms gradually evened out, and her face relaxed.
Only then could Xu Luzhi finally put her heart at ease.
She sat by the bed like that for two hours, until Lin Qingyue suddenly woke up. With drowsy eyes, she saw Xu Luzhi sitting at the head of the bed.
Lin Qingyue instinctively reached out to grasp Xu Luzhi’s wrist but quickly realized something and gave a self-mocking smile: “I’m still dreaming.”
Xu Luzhi must have been kept completely in the dark : how could she miraculously appear here?
Xu Luzhi took a shallow breath and remained seated, not moving.
The woman with the beautiful peach blossom eyes murmured to herself: “Mm, I already broke up with her, she won’t come back.”
After saying that, Lin Qingyue hugged her tightly and planted a retaliatory kiss on her lips.
Xu Luzhi didn’t move, allowing Lin Qingyue’s soft lips to meet hers, cool and salty, tasting of her tears.
Lin Qingyue, satisfied, fell back asleep. Xu Luzhi knew that in a little while, she would just believe this was another dream.
She stood at the doorway of the ward, looking back at the woman’s peaceful sleeping face, and smiled self-deprecatingly.
Lin Qingyue didn’t believe her at all, which is why she insisted on breaking up.
She had always worried about Lin Qingyue getting hurt. Now that Lin Qingyue was safe, it was time for her to go back too.
If Jiejie (older sister) still held her in her heart, she would definitely come to find her.
If she didn’t come… Xu Luzhi pursed her lips imperceptibly, thinking with a hint of malice.
Then, no matter the ends of the earth, she would capture her older sister and bring her back.
She was not as quick to retreat in the face of difficulty as Lin Qingyue. She was mean, possessive, and had been that way from the start.
Lin Qingyue was hers, and was only allowed to love her alone.
Leaving the hospital, Xu Luzhi saw a tattoo parlor by the roadside and, on a whim, walked in.
The person responsible for the tattoos was a very elegant older woman, who asked Xu Luzhi what design she wanted.
Xu Luzhi looked through the display of works with her. What attracted her most were the various couple tattoos.
However, the older woman told her with some difficulty, “Little sister, many couples who got tattoos at my shop later broke up and only had regret. Are you sure?”
Xu Luzhi smiled: “It doesn’t matter, we already broke up anyway.”
The other woman was dumbfounded: “Then… then little sister, you really are quite sentimental.”
Xu Luzhi shrugged and gave a self-mocking smile.
She drew the design herself, one that would perfectly connect with the crescent moon on Lin Qingyue’s neck, and also contained a character from her own name, so it wouldn’t be too conspicuous.
Lin Qingyue’s moon was only half; she wanted to complete the other half for her older sister.
It hurt a lot while getting the tattoo, but it didn’t cause her the same heartache she felt watching Lin Qingyue get hurt.
Xu Luzhi gently stroked the shape on the back of her neck, piecing the design together in her mind again and again, until it fit seamlessly.
Jiejie, this world is too dark, the moonlight cannot illuminate the way. I wish to plant gardenias all along the road ahead for you, so that even with your eyes closed, you won’t get lost following the fragrance.
At the end of the gardenias, where I am, is your home.
The computer building at Capital University was very tall. Hidden by the osmanthus trees, the young girl and the woman embraced passionately for a very, very long time.
Lin Qingyue finally spoke, her voice hoarse: “Zhizhi, I’m sorry.”
She said, crying, “I didn’t mean to break up with you, I just…”
The next moment, Xu Luzhi gently silenced her lips. As their lips intertwined, the young girl mumbled indistinctly: “We never broke up, don’t talk nonsense.”
Her words were firm, and her kiss was skilled, instantly making Lin Qingyue breathless and softening her entire body like a pool of water.
Lin Qingyue looked into Xu Luzhi’s bottomless, clear eyes, and instead felt a surge of panic and unease.
Enveloped by such passionate and tender love, she felt like crying.
Suddenly, an impulse arose in Lin Qingyue’s heart. She grabbed Xu Luzhi’s hand and said seriously, “I want to be with you, Xu Luzhi.”
Xu Luzhi was startled and hesitated: “But Jiejie, you’re injured…”
Her expression turned playful, with a hint of mischievousness, as she tapped Lin Qingyue’s nose: “You want this badly, Jiejie?”
Lin Qingyue nodded affirmatively, and seemed unable to contain herself, eagerly rubbing against Xu Luzhi’s body.
Her usually lower body temperature became scorching hot under the fire of desire emanating from her skin.
Her peach blossom eyes were misty, filled with deep yearning, her face tilted up in a manner suggesting she was offering herself up for sacrifice.
Sultry and yet perfectly innocent. Xu Luzhi couldn’t stand to look at this sight.
How could her woman beg for intimacy in front of her and she endure it?
With a thought, before Xu Luzhi could react further, they were already in her apartment.
Lin Qingyue had an injury on her back, so she couldn’t take a proper bath, only hastily wiping herself down. Undressing was quick, and now she was lying peacefully on the bed, head down, feigning sleep.
She didn’t even cover herself with a blanket, this blatant display of whiteness seeming intentionally provocative to Xu Luzhi.
Xu Luzhi, having just showered and dried herself, walked in to see this scene, her mind roaring, almost bleeding from the nose.
She swallowed hard and accused her: “Sister, why are you trying to seduce people like that?”
Lin Qingyue turned her head, her peach blossom eyes wet, looking at her innocently: “Does Zhizhi not like this?”
She curved her lips seductively and swayed her hips, her rear end swaying before Xu Luzhi’s eyes until she felt dizzy.
Her heart hammered impossibly fast; she wanted to consume Lin Qingyue in one bite.
Fearing the injury on her back, she could only patiently explore bit by bit, until she was almost driven mad herself.
Lin Qingyue blinked, looking at her somewhat strangely: “Eh, why has someone already lost three times before we even started?”
Xu Luzhi gritted her teeth and bit hard on her soft flesh: “It’s all because Jiejie is too detestable.”
The moment she saw Lin Qingyue, she lost all self-control.
She lifted her hand and slapped Lin Qingyue’s bottom hard. Lin Qingyue cried out in surprise, but before she could cry out in pain, her lips were firmly sealed by Xu Luzhi’s mouth.
Both painful and stimulating, the force was just right.
Finally reaching the main event, Xu Luzhi was about to put on a finger sheath when Lin Qingyue called her back: “No.”
The woman before her melted like water but stated firmly: “Don’t use that, Zhizhi.”
She said, “I want… no barrier.”
She wanted the complete Xu Luzhi, without any layer in between, only her and their union.
Xu Luzhi went and washed her hands ten times.
At the very end, Lin Qingyue threw her head back, cried out in pain, yet felt an unspeakable joy.
She looked back a few drops of bright red remained on the tip of the young girl’s fingersthe color of blood.
Yet, this blood only brought joy, not pain.
Lin Qingyue looked at Xu Luzhi’s radiant eyes and suddenly felt all the sins she carried washed away.
Finally breaking down completely, Xu Luzhi moved forward and held her tightly. Lin Qingyue bit down on Xu Luzhi’s shoulder and sobbed softly for a long time.
“Zhizhi, I didn’t do anything wrong,” she said. “I just wanted to stand in the sunlight. I have more right than him to live openly and justly.”
“Why must I be the one to live cautiously, and not him?”
This intimate moment was completely different from what Xu Luzhi had imagined. There was no romantic restaurant, no Ferris wheel, no bed and bathtub full of flower petals only the woman’s quiet weeping.
Yet, it was joyful, more joyful than she had ever imagined.
It caused her endless heartache for Lin Qingyue, and made her feel even more distressed.
Lin Qingyue told her everything. With both mind and body relaxed and satisfied, she closed her eyes contentedly. Xu Luzhi, however, knelt quietly by the head of the bed, self-reproach and guilt surging over her like a tide, drowning her.
But she dared not show any of it, afraid of causing Lin Qingyue more trouble.
She quietly crawled next to Lin Qingyue, looking at the woman’s peaceful sleeping face this time, a truly carefree, sweet sleep though she seemed much thinner than before just by looking at her.
Her Jiejie, who had returned to her side, felt like a colorful soap bubble, ready to pop at the slightest touch.
Xu Luzhi thought, why wasn’t she just a little bit stronger? If she were just a little more powerful, she could protect her older sister.
She could stop Lin Qingyue from facing such terrifying things.
And yet, her Jiejie had done the opposite, gently shielding her so she wouldn’t know even a tiny bit.
She choked up, leaning close to Lin Qingyue’s ear, whispering in a breathy voice, “Sister, do you know why I wouldn’t accept you before I left?”
“Because I wanted to give you something to regret dying for.”
She hadn’t experienced this feeling yet, so Lin Qingyue would definitely return, definitely come back to her side.
She wouldn’t bear to leave.
