Chapter 27: The Unexpected Kiss: Help, what did he do! Is he crazy…
Contact with everyone in the DeWei family always made Lance feel extremely annoyed.
Everyone spoke to him with an ulterior motive, trying to subtly squeeze the last bit of value out of him.
His father kept him until very late, and he respectfully and politely agreed with every word his father said. The irritation was mounting, and his desire to drop the pretense peaked.
What did the survival or demise of the DeWei family have to do with him? Boring.
“I want water,” Lu Feiran tugged at Lance’s sleeve, his eyes tightly shut, his slender eyelashes fluttering.
Lance pulled back his thoughts. He stood by the bed, looking down at Lu Feiran, who was curled up in a ball. In the darkness, his pupils were so deep they were colorless, his face pale and expressionless, like a wandering ghost.
There was something even more irritating.
What new character had appeared while he was away?
Why were so many people always revolving around Lu Feiran? Zhai Qiance, Jin Zhan, Zhou Zihua, and now another Frank?
Why couldn’t Lu Feiran only interact with him, only stay by his side—
The hazy mist scattered, and Lance’s mind cleared. The perplexing question that had troubled him finally found its answer.
Why couldn’t Lu Feiran belong only to him?
He found Lu Feiran amusing, so taking him was only natural and right. Lance thought.
Lance bent down and hooked Lu Feiran’s reddened nose with his index finger. Seeing the person lying down frown, he asked in a deep voice, “You drank alcohol.”
Lu Feiran didn’t answer, changing his position to lie on his side, pressing his palm against his brow, burying his face into the quilt.
On the table outside, there was still half a glass of water in Lu Feiran’s cup. Lance walked over and found a newly opened box of “Aluminum Carbonate Magnesium” medicine fallen on the floor. Two tablets had already been popped out of one strip.
And the several bunches of roses casually placed at the entrance, their dark red petals scattered across the floor, the intense color stinging Lance’s eyes.
Frank, roses, and the alcohol he drank despite the stomach ache.
Lance picked up a bunch of roses and roughly placed it on the dining table. The petals fell onto the grey and white marble surface, an eyesore.
Lance poured warm water and clenched the fallen petals in his hand.
The bedroom light was off, and Lu Feiran’s face was the only bright spot in the dim room.
Lance placed the cup on the bedside table and sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at Lu Feiran.
His brows were tightly furrowed, his lips pressed together, his body was curled up, and his hands were forcefully covering his stomach.
The corner of Lance’s mouth curled slightly, but there was no warmth in his eyes. He placed the rose petals in his hand against Lu Feiran’s lips. The collision of deep red and bright white brought a subtle, indescribable sense of agitation.
Indeed, this color suited him, no wonder someone sent roses.
This thought made Lance’s heart ache, as if someone had brutally twisted his heart, making him feel completely uncomfortable.
Lance narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze darkening, and his breathing hitched for a moment, but quickly returned to normal. He used his fingers to remove the petals, then patted Lu Feiran’s face with the back of his hand.
“Drink some water, Ranran.”
Lu Feiran seemed not to hear, having fallen into a deep sleep.
Lance’s large hand covered Lu Feiran’s overlapped hands. He moved closer and pulled Lu Feiran up, letting him lean against his body.
Lu Feiran was roused and groggily saw Lance’s face. He sighed in relief, braced himself, leaned against Lance, and took a few sips of water from the cup.
After drinking water, Lu Feiran tried to slide down to sleep again, but Lance wouldn’t allow it, stopping him and wrapping him in his arms.
Lu Feiran didn’t struggle. He watched as Lance moved his hands away and placed his large hand over his own stomach.
The pressure was just right.
He had a headache and a stomach ache. Taking medicine afterward was completely useless. Lu Feiran swore this was truly the last time, he would never drink again!
But for some unknown reason, with Lance here, Lu Feiran felt much better.
The string of reason dissolved under the soaking of alcohol. Lu Feiran completely surrendered himself to Lance, burrowing into his arms, resting his forehead against Lance’s neck, and mumbling, “Noen, you’re so nice, you’re so nice, I really like you… this kind of person.”
Lance’s hand paused, and his other arm tightened its embrace around Lu Feiran.
He wanted to say, if you really like me… this kind of person, then stop associating with irrelevant people. As for the name, a name is just a code, it’s not important.
Holding Lu Feiran, Lance increasingly felt how slender Lu Feiran was, though he looked much more energetic than the first time they met. He hugged him harder and harder, as if trying to embed Lu Feiran into his own body, filling the void within him.
“It hurts,” Lu Feiran whispered.
But Lance didn’t relax his grip. His arms were long and his hands were large. With a casual grab, he had Lu Feiran completely under his control.
The thin and weak Lu Feiran had no power to resist. He moved a few times, then stopped struggling. Lance had a very reassuring scent. Burying his head in Lance’s chest, Lu Feiran felt that perhaps all his ailments could be cured.
He really is good. Can he, please, not be with Zhai Qiance…
Lu Feiran felt distressed. He sensed that Lance tonight was more silent than usual. His gentle demeanor had dissipated, and a colder, more forceful side was quietly revealing itself.
Did something happen?
“Your mood isn’t great,” Lu Feiran looked up at Lance’s profile. “What are you thinking about? It’s okay to tell me.”
Lance didn’t speak, only lowered his head and rubbed his head against Lu Feiran’s.
He wanted to hug him a little longer. The feeling of skin-to-skin contact was very captivating.
After a while, just when Lu Feiran thought Lance wouldn’t speak, a cool voice came from above his head: “I was wondering, did you have something happy happen today? Can you tell me?”
It seemed both of them were eager to know what the other was thinking, their thoughts colliding.
But this question made Lu Feiran instinctively want to escape, trying to rise from Lance’s body, but Lance grabbed his waist and pressed him back down.
Only then did he realize how bizarrely intimate and ambiguous their position was—lying in bed, hugging each other, pressed together perfectly!
Is this right? Is this right?
A burning heat spread to his earlobes. Lu Feiran’s entire face was flushed, and he insisted on getting up. Alcohol occupied half his brain, leaving no time to think of anything else, only one thought—get away fast!
Lu Feiran’s struggle was like a harsh slap to Lance, making his expression even gloomier. His already clouded face looked as if a sky-covering torrential rain had begun, and his sharp gaze fixated on him like an eagle.
Lance pulled Lu Feiran back, cupped his face to make him look directly at him. The small face in his palms was like an exquisite piece of art, compliant under his touch.
Lu Feiran caught the ripple of a moonbeam leaking through the gap in the curtains in the green pupils, then was struck down by alcohol again. Several afterimages of Lance appeared before his eyes, and he had to focus intently to barely see clearly.
“Who did you go drinking with? Who gave you the flowers? Hmm?” Lance didn’t know why he had so many questions, where this curiosity came from. What business was it of his?
But he just wanted to ask, to use every method to get to the bottom of it, not allowing Lu Feiran to keep any secrets from him.
Lu Feiran couldn’t see Lance’s face clearly, only a pair of light, thin lips constantly opening and closing. He was being talked dizzy by Lance. In a daze, he leaned forward and pressed his lips against Lance’s.
!!!
In that instant, both of them heard thunder. A rumbling sound that threatened to shatter the entire world.
Lu Feiran tried to pull away, but Lance leaned forward to follow. The soft lips had not separated since they first met, being pressed and rubbed against each other.
The surge of emotion in Lance’s eyes, now close, was like a raging, overwhelming sea, which both shocked and scared Lu Feiran.
The shock was that he had done such an outrageous thing to him. The fear was that the two of them would fall out because of this, returning to the state of strangers.
Lu Feiran squeezed Lance’s hand hard, and though Lance winced in pain, he didn’t let go. Lu Feiran was finally left with only fear.
He made a whimper in his throat, terrified to the point of tears.
It was Lance who stopped first. He used all his strength to control himself, not biting Lu Feiran’s lip to go deeper and take more.
Lu Feiran seized the opportunity, immediately pushed Lance away, pulled the quilt, and wrapped his entire body in it, like a tightly packaged silkworm cocoon.
Help, what did he do! Is he crazy! How could he kiss his ex-husband’s fiancé?
Tomorrow, I’ll pretend I was drunk! It’s normal to forget things when drunk!
“I don’t feel well, headache… stomach ache… I’m going to sleep…” Lu Feiran’s voice was muffled, with an obvious tremor.
“Lu Feiran, you didn’t answer any of my questions. I hope you don’t say you forgot when you wake up tomorrow.”
That “cocoon” seemed to freeze, unmoving, beginning to play dead.
But it was a good thing Lu Feiran was hiding in the quilt like an ostrich. Otherwise, how was he going to face Lance, who had dropped his disguise and was now full of hostility?
A cold-blooded animal ending its hibernation is ravenous, desperately needing prey to fill its belly—preferably small animals, like mice or rabbits, seemingly agile and alert, but a hungry hunter can instantly clamp down on them, swallowing them whole.
Lance was savoring the moment, feeling unsatisfied, and desperately wanted to deepen the kiss.
This was his first time having such an intimate action with someone else. The feeling was not bad, and with Lu Feiran, it made him even more addicted.
He wanted to stay by Lu Feiran’s side every day, close together, feeling the sweet scent on him. They could do all intimate things, or nothing at all, as long as Lu Feiran was beside him.
For the first time, Lance discovered that he could be so undemanding.
Lu Feiran, as Zhai Qiance’s legal partner, living in his house, and yet he kissed Lance. This completely off-track behavior made Lance tremble with excitement. His goal had been achieved.
Lu Feiran was dark and selfish, wanting to maintain the superficial marriage yet still entangled with him, the “third party.”
In Lu Feiran’s heart, he was special.
However, Lance didn’t feel the expected pleasure and relief. Something was very wrong.
Why did Lu Feiran initiate the kiss yet seem unwilling afterward? Did Lu Feiran really want the kiss, what was he thinking? What did he do during the day, who sent him the flowers, and did he kiss the person who sent them?
A myriad of questions occupied Lance’s mind. The inability to get the answers he wanted surrounded him with low pressure. All of Lance’s composure and arrogance were shattered, making him like a raging beast, silently roaring in the lonely night.
This was a new experience; it was the first time he had been this curious about someone else.
He would dissect Lu Feiran, making Lu Feiran willingly expose everything inside to him.
There could be no secrets between them.
