Everyone Loves the Villainous Scumbag [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 17
Luo Jianghe returned to the room from the bathroom and saw the other three were still playing. He sat down beside Luo Xi, not joining in, but simply watching from the side.
He had not expected a game like “Fight the Landlord” to be so addictive; the group ended up playing from around seven until after nine o’clock. If they reached ten o’clock, Mother Luo would surely come to urge them back to their rooms to sleep, so their timing was managed perfectly.
During the game, Yu Wuyang and Fu Chen took turns showering and changed into their pajamas. Yu Wuyang did not wear a traditional pajama set; he simply wore a loose-fitting long-sleeved shirt and trousers.
Today’s activities had been quite taxing, and Luo Jianghe was tired. He usually lacked sleep at school, and since Mother Luo would not let them sleep in late at home, his sleep schedule remained fairly regular.
“Let us sleep,” Luo Jianghe said, his voice carrying a hint of exhaustion.
He found a spot he liked and lay down. Since he slept on the side closer to the door, Yu Wuyang had no choice but to sleep on the inner side.
Just as he was about to lie down, Yu Wuyang’s slender fingers brushed through his hair. The cool fingertips made Luo Jianghe, who was originally drowsy, snap awake.
Luo Jianghe turned his head back sharply, like a startled cat, and looked at Yu Wuyang warily. “What are you doing?”
Seeing his reaction, a flash of grievance crossed Yu Wuyang’s face, which Luo Jianghe happened to catch.
“Your hair was not dry earlier. I just wanted to see if it was dry now.”
Hearing this, Luo Jianghe’s expression was awkward for a few seconds before he said, “Oh, it is dry. It is fine. Go to sleep.”
It was no wonder Yu Wuyang felt aggrieved. After all, before today, he and Yu Wuyang had a very close relationship; rubbing heads or nuzzling faces did not require permission. With his sudden change in attitude, Yu Wuyang must be feeling very insecure.
He could not help but recall what Yu Wuyang said this morning. Although his past actions toward Yu Wuyang had not broken the thin veil of ambiguity, he had indeed been expressing “affection” to the other party. In that case, how could he blame Yu Wuyang for being unable to control his feelings?
Thinking about it, he felt a sense of guilt. However, Yu Wuyang’s subsequent behavior quickly shattered that layer of guilt.
The night passed in silence as they each went to sleep. The moon hung over the treetops, and snow drifted for miles.
Luo Jianghe kept feeling as though the rustling of fabric and strange, muffled gasps were coming from his ear. In a daze, he thought he was dreaming. He opened his eyes in a blur, but perhaps due to sleep paralysis, he could not move his body for a moment.
He felt his eyes were not open very wide, but it was enough to see the scene before him.
Yu Wuyang was no longer lying in bed; instead, he had knelt by the bedside at some unknown point. His black hair paired with fair skin appeared slightly orange under the glow of the bedside lamp.
Yu Wuyang’s rosy lips looked as if they were coated in gloss, moist and lovely. He was biting down on a corner of his clothes, and those suppressed sounds seemed to originate from his throat. Due to his endurance, Luo Jianghe could even see the veins bulging at the corner of his jaw.
Fortunately, although Yu Wuyang’s face was turned toward Luo Jianghe, his eyes were squinted shut.
One of Yu Wuyang’s hands was tightly interlaced with his own, while his other hand reached downward. Because the bed was high and topped with a mattress, it happened to block everything below Yu Wuyang’s waist.
Yu Wuyang did not have a towering physique like Fu Chen, but Luo Jianghe, who had been in close contact with him, knew that this guy had somehow managed to build a layer of lean muscle while acting like a “good boy.” His abdominal muscles fluctuated with his breathing, and his slender waist was definitely something one could wrap an arm around.
“Jianghe”
As Luo Jianghe was looking at his waist, Yu Wuyang breathed out his name through the teeth biting his clothes.
Luo Jianghe was startled. However, he was still in a state of sleep paralysis and could not move, so Yu Wuyang did not notice anything unusual.
As Yu Wuyang called his name, Luo Jianghe felt his palm tighten. Yu Wuyang clenched his fingers hard, and after about a minute, he slowly released Luo Jianghe’s hand. This physical tugging finally caused Luo Jianghe to wake up completely.
He could move now. He was no longer in that state where the mind was awake but the body was paralyzed. Consequently, though Luo Jianghe did not move, his breathing deepened slightly.
Yu Wuyang was sensitive. He naturally noticed the change in Luo Jianghe. When he looked at Luo Jianghe again, Luo Jianghe had already closed his eyes, smacked his lips, muttered a few words in his sleep, and drifted back off.
Seeing this, Yu Wuyang did not suspect anything. He simply leaned over to Luo Jianghe’s hand and gave it a gentle kiss. Then, Yu Wuyang quietly walked out of the room.
Only after he left to wash his hands did Luo Jianghe’s face turn bright red.
Luo Jianghe buried his head in the covers for a while to calm down. When he popped his head back out, his eyes looked like those of a dead fish.
“Since everyone has to die eventually, I think dying right now would be fine. How about we just drop this mission?” he said to the system. He felt as though he had severed all worldly ties, becoming as detached as a monk without desires.
“Host, keep it up! Victory is in sight! Just hold on a little longer!”
“If I had known, I would not have brought this guy over today. I should have let him fend for himself.” But on second thought, Luo Jianghe knew he would not have had the heart to do that.
“As long as the emotional values increase, it is all worth it!” 017 encouraged Luo Jianghe as if it had been injected with adrenaline. It sensed that its host’s mental state was facing an unprecedented blow, so it uncharacteristically exerted all its effort to encourage him.
While Luo Jianghe was lost in thought, Yu Wuyang finished washing his hands and walked back. Fearing that the fact he had been awake would be discovered, Luo Jianghe pretended to be woken up by Yu Wuyang’s light footsteps.
Opening his naturally misty eyes, no acting required, he said to Yu Wuyang, “Did you just go to the bathroom?”
Upon hearing Luo Jianghe’s voice, Yu Wuyang proved to be a master actor himself. He did not even pause his movements; he naturally walked to the bedside and lay back down.
Luo Jianghe only felt the other side of the bed sink slightly. Then, Yu Wuyang reached out his slender hand and turned off the desk lamp. Everything seemed to return to how it was before anything had happened.
Luo Jianghe remained awake for about an hour before finally falling back to sleep, feeling as though his eyes were swollen.
Luo Jianghe was dragged out of bed by Mother Luo. Likely because he did not sleep well in the latter half of the night, he looked exhausted when he got up.
Meanwhile, Yu Wuyang, who had been “busy” for much of the night, was full of energy and had woken up early. He stood smiling next to Mother Luo, watching Luo Jianghe climb out of bed with bleary eyes.
Looking at Yu Wuyang’s appearance, Luo Jianghe could not help but complain to the system. “This guy is such an actor.”
Whatever, thinking about it another way, if Yu Wuyang was like this, it would be easier for Luo Jianghe to feel no guilt when he had to mistreat him later.
Luo Jianghe needed to get dressed, so Mother Luo and Yu Wuyang stepped out first. Fu Chen had also woken up early and was waiting outside with Yu Wuyang. Since they did not say a word at the door, Luo Jianghe was startled by the sudden presence of the tall figure when he walked out.
He truly felt that Fu Chen and Yu Wuyang were strange. In the novel, they were supposed to be a couple, yet now they showed no signs of mutual affection. Instead, Luo Jianghe felt that Fu Chen was interested in him. He was not a fool; even without a clear realization, he could sometimes feel Fu Chen’s attentiveness.
But when Luo Jianghe asked 017, the system was clueless; it could only analyze the favorability levels of the targets. Thus, Luo Jianghe privately assumed that perhaps the timeline for Yu Wuyang and Fu Chen’s romance had not arrived yet, or maybe this world had a set of hidden rules.
At this stage, Yu Wuyang was prone to liking someone like him, while someone like Fu Chen could only be a stranger to Yu Wuyang for now. Thinking this way made the logic seem much more consistent.
Just as 017 said, a person’s values change with age. Right now, Yu Wuyang simply preferred his “type” over Fu Chen’s. After figuring this out, Luo Jianghe stopped worrying about why the two were not in love yet.
Yu Wuyang had breakfast at around nine in the morning. Except for him and Luo Xi, everyone else in the house had already eaten. Actually, Mother Luo did not strictly need to wake Luo Jianghe so early. It was mainly because Fu Chen was going home today, and the driver would arrive soon. Mother Luo hoped that Luo Jianghe, having become friends with Fu Chen, would at least see him off.
While eating breakfast, Luo Jianghe could not help but admire Mother Luo in his heart. As expected of her, she always had a perfect handle on social etiquette. He had heard that before becoming a full-time housewife, Mother Luo had been a corporate employee for three or four years. She married and had children quickly after meeting Father Luo.
After giving birth to Luo Jianghe, she considered that her monthly salary of five or six thousand yuan was not even enough for his formula. For their family, the value brought by her resigning was higher than the value of her job. After weighing the options, she decided to be a full-time housewife, managing the household and social relations.
Luo Jianghe figured she probably was not content with just fading into the role of a housewife. Therefore, even in this role, she strove for perfection. Whether it was arranging appliance repairs, handling social connections, or educating her children, she maintained these rigorous standards.
Just as Luo Jianghe finished breakfast, the driver arrived to pick up Fu Chen.
Mother Luo said to them from downstairs, “Jianghe, go and see your friend off. Xiao Chen is leaving.”
The “you” Mother Luo referred to naturally included Luo Jianghe, Luo Xi, and Yu Wuyang. Luo Jianghe resignedly stood up, preparing to see off Fu Chen, who was pushing his luggage and wearing only a long overcoat despite the sub-zero temperatures.
