As for Ning Xi, she changed “Teacher Yu” to “Qingsue.”

Shen Runxin overheard and looked at Ning Xi in surprise. “Why aren’t you calling Teacher Yu ‘jiejie’?”

Ning Xi thought: Because we’re the same age mentally.

She glanced at Yu Qingsue and said, “Because I want Qingsue to call me ‘jiejie’ instead.”

When they returned to the love cottage at noon, the production team had already prepared local specialty dishes. Ning Xi carried a basket of strawberries and said, “I’ll go wash these.”

Hearing this, Ning Xi smiled at Yu Qingsue. “Qingsue hasn’t had enough yet.”

Yu Qingsue urged, “Hurry up, and don’t forget to bring a fruit knife.”

Zhou Jianbai fired off one question after another, leaving Sun Qize at a loss for how to explain. Just then, Ning Xi returned, carrying not only washed strawberries and a fruit knife but also a small plate of pickled radish.

Sun Qize said, “Watch Ning Xi, and you’ll understand soon enough.”

Zhou Jianbai immediately fixed his gaze on Ning Xi, unblinking and utterly focused.

Though this had been Sun Qize’s suggestion, seeing Zhou Jianbai so intently observing another alpha made his chest tighten inexplicably.

Holding a strawberry in her left hand and the knife in her right, Ning Xi sliced off a small piece and tasted it herself. Her brows furrowed slightly before she ate the entire strawberry.

She repeated the process with a second one. This time, after sampling a piece, her expression relaxed, and she handed the strawberry to Yu Qingxue with confidence. “This one’s very sweet.”

Yu Qingxue leaned forward slightly and took the strawberry directly into her mouth, her face lighting up with a smile. “So sweet. Thank you, Ning Xi.”

As the meal began, Ning Xi went to the kitchen to fetch two more bowls. She proceeded to test each strawberry one by one, placing the sweet ones in one bowl and the slightly sour ones in the other.

Only after sorting all the strawberries did she finally start eating.

Yu Qingxue subtly pushed a bowl piled high with dishes toward her. “These are all delicious.”

Ning Xi smiled at her, her dark eyes gleaming.

In the end, Shen Runxin and Wei Xinran chose to explore the nearby scenery, Wang You and Wei Nian opted for a shopping and food trip in the county town, while Sun Qize and Zhou Jianbai, like Ning Xi and Yu Qingxue, decided to stay behind.

Yu Qingxue asked, “What are you two planning to do here?” They wouldn’t try to crash their movie date and ruin their alone time, would they?

Sun Qize was momentarily speechless under Yu Qingxue’s wary gaze. “Don’t worry, I won’t disturb you and Ning Xi,” he said.

Zhou Jianbai interjected, “Professor Yu, I’d like Qize-ge to help me bake a cake. We happen to have all the ingredients in the kitchen.”

Yu Qingxue noticed how Sun Qize’s eyes lit up every time Zhou Jianbai called him “Qize-ge.”

It was clear Sun Qize had feelings for Zhou Jianbai.

If not for Sun Qize’s overly hesitant personality, they might have already started a sweet romance with Zhou Jianbai.

It seemed two matchmaking dinners would be inevitable after the show wrapped up.

The afternoon filming passed in a flash. In the evening, after everyone recorded their expectations for the next episode and their hopes for romantic progress, they took the production team’s arranged transport to the airport and flew home.

Ning Xi and Yu Qingxue had booked the same flight and sat in the same row.
