Everyone Loves the Alpha, But He’s Not Interested [Transmigration] - Chapter 93
Noticing Sun Qize’s gaze, Yu Qingxue smiled back at him. “Do you have any other questions, Qize?”
All Sun Qize wanted to know was whether Zhou Jianbai had been arranged by Yu Qingxue, and if so, where she had gotten the information.
“Nothing,” he replied. But these questions couldn’t be asked in front of the cameras. Sun Qize could only suppress them for now, planning to ask Yu Qingxue after the recording.
A staff member announced, “All participants have prepared gifts for their matches. We’ll begin with Mr. Sun’s group, Mr. Wei is number one, Mr. Sun is number two, Mr. Ning is number three, and Ms. Wei Nian is number four. Please present your gifts to your matched omegas in order.”
Wei Xinran stood up, his ears flushing red as he looked at Shen Runxin. “The gift I prepared is in another room.”
“Let’s all move to the room Mr. Wei has prepared,” the staff directed.
The eight of them rose and left the lounge, arriving before a closed door.
Wei Xinran pushed it open and turned to Shen Runxin. “Please, come in.”
Shen Runxin’s eyes sparkled with curiosity as she stepped inside first. The others followed, with Wei Xinran entering last.
The previously sparse room, which had only held a long sofa, was now transformed. Colorful ribbons hung from the ceiling, while balloons shaped into a heart adorned the walls, surrounded by an array of flowers. A small stage covered in red carpet and flower petals occupied one side, the entire space filled with a delicate, enchanting fragrance.
Shen Runxin sat at the center of the sofa, the others taking seats on either side, all waiting for Wei Xinran’s gift presentation.
Soon, music began playing. Wei Xinran emerged from behind them, microphone in hand, and stepped onto the stage to sing, “Liking you, those smiling eyes, even sunsets look like lip prints~”①
His deep voice filled the room, his gaze tenderly fixed on Shen Runxin throughout. Yu Qingxue gave Shen Runxin a gentle nudge, prompting the blushing woman to stand.
Wei Xinran approached her mid-song, taking her hand to lead her onto the stage where he sang the remainder solely for her.
“I want to say, Runxin, thank you for giving me the chance to like you. I’ll cherish this opportunity and strive to make you like me too.”
Hand in hand, they descended from the stage, the atmosphere now charged with a new intimacy. Every exchanged glance and smile carried unspoken affection. Even Shen Runxin’s usual composure had melted into rosy-cheeked fluster.
“That song, ‘Liking You,’ is my gift to you. Though I’m no god of singing like Mr. Sun, if you enjoy it, I’ll practice tirelessly to become your personal song deity.”
Ning Xi, observing nearby, thought Wei Xinran hardly seemed like someone who’d never dated—he was far too smooth.
After Wei Xinran’s heartfelt presentation, the others felt the pressure. They returned to the lounge where the staff announced, “Next is Mr. Sun’s turn for gift-giving.”
Sun Qize stood and retrieved an elegant paper bag from behind him. Zhou Jianbai watched expectantly.
“Jianbai, this is for you,” Sun Qize said stiffly, extending the bag directly toward Zhou Jianbai with zero romantic flair—utterly typical straight-guy behavior.
But for Zhou Jianbai, who was deeply infatuated with him, receiving a gift from Sun Qize was already enough to make him overjoyed.
Zhou Jianbai stood up to take the paper bag, his voice soft and tinged with shyness and anticipation. “Thank you, Teacher Sun.”
“May I open it?” he asked.
Sun Qize nodded.
All eyes were fixed on the paper bag in Zhou Jianbai’s hands.
Carefully, Zhou Jianbai opened the bag and peeked inside, his eyes lighting up with surprise. He reached in and slowly pulled out a brown wooden object, then turned it around to show everyone. “It’s a little wooden figure holding a guitar and singing.”
“Teacher Sun, is this little figure supposed to be me?” Zhou Jianbai asked hopefully.
Sun Qize nodded. “I hope you’ll keep singing, and may the light on your stage never fade.”
Zhou Jianbai clasped the wooden figure to his chest. “Teacher Sun, I promise I will.”
After they sat down, Zhou Jianbai gazed thoughtfully at the wooden figure in his hands.
At last, he realized what he had done wrong before.
During the singing competition, he had developed extraordinary feelings for Sun Qize after seeing the admiring look in his eyes from the stage. Sun Qize had never looked at anyone else that way, so Zhou Jianbai assumed the feelings were mutual—leading to his impulsive confession.
Being rejected by Sun Qize had completely caught him off guard, which was why he had underperformed in the competition.
Now he finally understood: Sun Qize loved the version of him that shone on stage. If he had won the championship, perhaps Sun Qize would have accepted the real him offstage too. What had he missed out on?
But it didn’t matter. He still had a chance.
For Sun Qize, he could make sure he shone both on and off the stage!
Sun Qize happened to glance at Zhou Jianbai across the room, who responded with a radiant smile—his curly hair framing crescent-moon eyes and pearly white teeth, glowing as brightly as he did on stage.
Sun Qize’s breath hitched slightly, and he quickly averted his gaze, flustered.
A staff member announced, “Both Teacher Sun and Teacher Wei have given very thoughtful gifts. Now it’s Teacher Ning’s turn—let’s see what gift she has prepared.”
Ning Xi stood up with a smile, holding a beautifully wrapped small box, her eyes fixed on Yu Qingxue as she walked over.
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, Ning Xi suddenly knelt on one knee and slowly opened the box, revealing a ring adorned with cute little flowers.
“Wow~” Wei Nian and Wang You couldn’t help but gasp in admiration.
Without needing instructions from Director Han, the cameramen immediately surrounded Ning Xi and Yu Qingxue, capturing their expressions from every angle.
Ning Xi looked up at Yu Qingxue, her dark eyes filled with sincerity. “Teacher Yu, this ring isn’t a proposal, just a cute little accessory I made. I hope you like it.”
Taking a deep breath, her eyes sparkling like stars, she continued, “I’ve said before that I came here for one person. Though this ring is just an accessory and doesn’t signify anything, I hope that by the end of this show, I’ll be able to slip a real one onto your finger.”
Yu Qingxue’s fingers curled slightly as she looked at Ning Xi, her light-colored eyes swirling with unreadable emotions. She remained silent for a long moment.
Wei Xinran, watching from the side, grew anxious. “Qingxue, it’s just an accessory—don’t feel pressured. Just accept it.”
“Quick, take it,” the others whispered softly.
Ning Xi raised the ring slightly higher. “Professor Yu.”
Yu Qingxue still didn’t take it. Instead, she suddenly gave Ning Xi a faint smile and placed her hand over Ning Xi’s. “It’s beautiful. Help me put it on.”
As Ning Xi and Yu Qingxue locked eyes, everyone else couldn’t help but think of one phrase—a single glance spanning eternity.
What should have been just a simple gift exchange looked like a genuine marriage proposal.
A smile spread across Ning Xi’s face, her fingers trembling with excitement as she fumbled a few times before finally retrieving the ring from the gift box.
She took a deep breath, gently holding Yu Qingxue’s hand, careful not to let her rough fingertips leave any marks on Yu Qingxue’s delicate skin.
With her other hand, Ning Xi slid the ring onto Yu Qingxue’s middle finger, pushing it slowly into place.
Once it was fully on, Ning Xi let go, her palm now damp with sweat.
Yu Qingxue took Ning Xi’s hand in hers. “Now that the ring’s been given, hurry up and stand.”
Ning Xi gazed at her expectantly. “I just eyeballed the size, I’m not sure if it fits properly…”
Yu Qingxue lifted her hand to inspect it, her red lips curving slightly. “It’s lovely. And it fits perfectly.”
Ning Xi’s face instantly lit up with joy.
Returning to her seat, Ning Xi couldn’t tear her eyes away from Yu Qingxue. She kept watching her, and whenever Yu Qingxue glanced back, Ning Xi would immediately flash her a breathtakingly radiant smile.
Once everyone had settled back into their places, the staff stepped forward again.
“The next person to present a gift is our very own Professor Wei Nian.”
Wei Nian’s rose bouquet was rather large, making it difficult to conceal. Unable to fit it into a gift bag or box, she had resorted to wrapping it in a dark plastic bag to keep it a secret.
Wei Nian stood and walked to the table by the entrance, picking up the large, shadowy object before approaching Wang You. Slowly, she unveiled its true form.
Her gift was a bouquet of ninety-nine paper-folded red roses, each one exquisitely crafted to resemble the real thing.
Originally, Wei Nian had planned to simply hand the bouquet to Wang You while standing. But after Ning Xi’s dazzling display, a straightforward rose presentation seemed far too dull in comparison.
“Sister Youyou, this bouquet is for you,” Wei Nian said, offering it with both hands.
Wang You accepted it with a bright smile. “It’s so beautiful. Thank you.”
Wei Nian added, “Sister Youyou, these roses aren’t just pretty—they’re also quite practical.”
Wang You looked puzzled.
“What do you mean?”
Wei Nian explained, “Each of these roses was folded with my love for you. I want this bouquet to represent your love returning to me. If you love me a little more today, give me one rose—until all ninety-nine are back in my hands. How does that sound?”
Wang You’s cheeks flushed slightly. “So the roses you gave me are actually meant to be taken back?”
The others couldn’t help but laugh.
Wei Nian scratched the back of her head sheepishly. “Sister Youyou, is that okay?”
Wang You examined the bouquet before plucking one rose and placing it in Wei Nian’s hand. “Alright then. Today, I love you just a little—here you go.”
Wei Nian hugged the rose, grinning widely. “I’ll keep working hard to make you love me even more!”
With the alphas having presented their gifts, it was now the omegas’ turn.
Ning Xi glanced at the three beside her. Aside from Sun Qize, who seemed a bit awkward, the others were clearly eager.
The staff announced, “Number one is Teacher Yu. Please present your gift, Teacher Yu.”
Yu Qingxue stood up, raising her arms slightly, and Wang You and the other two followed suit.
Yu Qingxue said, “Time is limited, so we’ve prepared a joint gift for you.”
Ning Xi asked curiously, “What is it?”
Yu Qingxue curled her crimson lips into a faint smile, her light-colored eyes shimmering with an indescribable beauty. “You’ll see.”
“We’ll need to use the room Xinran decorated,” Wang You told the staff.
“No problem,” the staff replied.
The group moved to the room they had visited earlier.
Zhou Jianbai appeared with a guitar out of nowhere and sat by the stage. Strumming the strings, he began playing as Yu Qingxue and the other two lined up, raising their arms in preparation.
Soft music filled the air, accompanied by Zhou Jianbai’s husky, captivating voice singing an ancient-style melody. Yu Qingxue and her companions danced gracefully to the rhythm.
Though their movements weren’t perfectly polished, each performed with earnest dedication.
Midway through, Yu Qingxue suddenly approached Ning Xi, taking her hand and leading her onto the stage. Wei Xinran and Wei Nian were similarly pulled up by Shen Runxin and Wang You.
Zhou Jianbai stood, continuing to play the guitar as he walked over to Sun Qize, encouraging him with a glance to join in singing. Sun Qize hesitated at first, prompting Zhou Jianbai to pause and wait for him. When Sun Qize’s gentle, deep voice finally rose, Zhou Jianbai broke into a smile.
The two began singing together while Ning Xi and the others danced clumsily alongside Yu Qingxue’s trio. As the song ended, they exchanged glances and burst into laughter.
The initial awkwardness and unfamiliarity melted into warmth and ease.
With the gift exchange concluded, the staff announced, “After the episode airs, viewers will vote for the most surprising gift. The couple with the highest combined votes will earn the title of ‘Most Surprising Couple’ and receive an extra half-hour of screen time compared to the other three pairs.”
