Everyone Loves the Alpha, But He’s Not Interested [Transmigration] - Chapter 92
In the small room, Yu Qingxue was equally nervous, torn between hoping Ning Xi would appear and fearing it might not be her. Her emotions were in complete turmoil.
“I came here hoping for a sweet romance, but right from the start, I’ve been given a difficult challenge.”
“Ning Xi is wonderful, of course, but I worry she’s too young to truly understand her own heart. Love can be sweet, but it can also be painful.”
“I’ve never been in a relationship before. Everything I know comes from movies.”
Yu Qingxue, usually the epitome of an aloof goddess, had become unusually talkative, a clear sign of her nervousness to anyone who knew her well.
Finally, the doorknob to Yu Qingxue’s room turned with a soft “click,” and the door slowly opened.
But after it swung open, no one entered for what felt like an eternity.
Yu Qingxue stared intently at the doorway. Just as she was about to speak up, an uncertain voice came from outside, “Excuse me, is this Yu Qingxue’s room? Teacher Yu?”
It was Ning Xi’s voice.
The moment Yu Qingxue heard it, her mind went blank, and a fleeting look of confusion crossed her beautiful face.
Fortunately, she quickly regained her composure, and a faint sense of relief and joy spread across her delicate features. “Why don’t you come in and see for yourself?”
Hearing Yu Qingxue’s voice, Ning Xi’s dark eyes lit up with delight. She immediately stepped inside and saw Yu Qingxue smiling at her, her cheeks flushed with excitement. “Teacher Yu, it really is you!”
Yu Qingxue rested her chin on her arm, which was draped over the back of her chair, her clear eyes twinkling with amusement. “You’re lucky. It seems fate really does favor us.”
Ning Xi practically ran to sit across from Yu Qingxue, radiating happiness. “Teacher Yu, does this mean you’ve agreed to keep seeing me?”
Having accepted the whims of fate, Yu Qingxue now wanted nothing more than to approach this budding romance with a calm heart.
Now that she was at peace, she couldn’t resist teasing Ning Xi a little. “Hmm… I still need to think about it.”
Ning Xi’s eyes widened in shock as she stared at Yu Qingxue. “But we already agreed! Why do you still need to think?” Her dark eyes brimmed with disappointment.
Yu Qingxue couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m just teasing you. I don’t need to think anymore.”
Ning Xi wasn’t ready to let her guard down. “Does ‘no need to think’ mean yes or no?”
Yu Qingxue countered, “What do you think?”
Ning Xi immediately replied, “I think it means yes!”
Yu Qingxue smiled. “Then yes it is.”
“Teacher Yu!” Ning Xi jumped to her feet, overjoyed. “You really said yes!”
Ning Xi’s unrestrained happiness was infectious, and Yu Qingxue found herself laughing along. The sight of the two beauties together was truly a feast for the eyes.
Watching the monitors, Director Han was so excited he nearly bruised his own thighs from slapping them. “This show is going to be a hit! An absolute sensation!”
His assistant chimed in, “We really owe Teacher Yu our gratitude. It must be beneath her dignity as an international film star to act in something like this.”
Director Han glanced at his assistant with a knowing look. “Sometimes, what you see on the surface isn’t the whole truth.”
The assistant didn’t understand. “But Director Han, it’s all scripted. Teacher Yu and Ning Xi are just following the script. You don’t actually think they’re really dating, do you? That’s impossible.”
Director Han smiled faintly at the screen. “Whether it’s possible or not isn’t for you to decide.”
Ten minutes later, Ning Xi and the others returned to their room to make their final decisions.
A staff member asked, “Please take turns announcing your answers.”
Sun Qize said, “I agree to continue contact.”
Wei Xinran nodded in agreement, “I agree as well.”
Ning Xi’s expression was completely different from when she first returned, her eyes sparkling with starlight. “I agree.”
The staff member left and returned five minutes later.
Sun Qize looked inexplicably tense, as if under great pressure, while Wei Xinran appeared nervous. Only Ning Xi remained relaxed, waiting for the announcement.
The staff member announced, “The other three omegas have also chosen to continue contact. Congratulations!”
Sun Qize nodded, “Thank you,” his eyes revealing complex emotions that were hard to read—neither clearly happy nor unhappy.
Wei Xinran and Ning Xi reacted more directly, smiling and high-fiving each other. “Congratulations on taking the first step.”
The staff continued, “Next, the three of you will exchange gifts with your matched partners as a surprise. You have two hours to prepare, and the exchange must be completed by noon.”
The three nodded in understanding and followed the staff to another room, where they found Wei Nian engrossed in crafting.
Wei Nian didn’t even glance up, carefully gluing pieces together with unwavering focus.
“Teacher Sun, Teacher Wei, Ning Xi, I’m running short on time, so I won’t chat with you,” Wei Nian said.
Sun Qize and Wei Xinran replied, “No problem, focus on your work.”
“We also need to think about what surprise to prepare.”
Wei Xinran asked the staff, “Can we use everything in this room?”
“Yes, everything is available,” the staff confirmed.
Wei Xinran pondered, “Can I decorate a room myself?”
“Of course. We have spare, undecorated rooms prepared for each participant,” the staff answered.
Wei Xinran nodded, seemingly already knowing what to do.
Sun Qize frowned as he surveyed the room before deciding to join Wei Nian in crafting.
Ning Xi asked, “Can I take Teacher Yu out for shopping and a date, as long as we return by noon?”
The staff hesitated, “It’s possible, but given Teacher Yu’s fame, going out during the day might cause chaos. We don’t recommend it.”
Ning Xi conceded, “It would indeed be hard to disguise her appearance in daylight.” An evening date would be better.
In the end, she also chose to stay and craft.
The room was stocked with colored paper of varying thickness, balloons, felt, and other tools.
Ning Xi noticed Wei Nian making a bouquet of paper roses—two or three already completed, looking exquisite.
She hadn’t expected Wei Nian to be so skilled at handicrafts.
Wei Xinran took balloons, ribbons, and other decorations to an empty room to set up.
Sun Qize wandered around before selecting a piece of wood and carving tools.
Ning Xi thought, “Everyone has their specialty… What can I do to stand out?”
…
Two hours later, the four alphas—Ning Xi and the others—gathered with the four omegas—Yu Qingsha and her group—in the main living room of the love cottage. They shook hands and sat facing their respective matches.
Ning Xi and Wei Nian were paired with Yu Qingsha and Wang You, respectively.
Sun Qize faced the 22-year-old rookie singer Zhou Jianbai (Zhou Zhou), while Wei Xinran sat across from the gentle and lovely Shen Runxin.
Wei Xinran seemed quite taken with Shen Runxin, and when she smiled at him, his ears immediately turned red.
Sun Qize looked at Zhou Jianbai, his brow involuntarily furrowing.
Zhou Jianbai’s body was stiff, his cheeks flushed red, not daring to meet Sun Qize’s gaze.
Yu Qingxue said, “I heard Qize and Zhou Zhou have quite a connection. Didn’t Qize mentor Zhou Zhou before?”
Both Sun Qize and Wei Xinran were friends of Yu Qingxue, whom she had persuaded to join the show.
Originally, there was another candidate, Zhao Duo, but since he had already started seeing Qi Huaihuai, Yu Qingxue removed him from the invitation list.
Sun Qize was usually a gentle person, but around Zhou Jianbai, he became somewhat stern. Zhou Jianbai would glance at him and quickly lower his head, his entire face turning red.
“Zhou Jianbai won third place in the ‘Star of Tomorrow’ singing competition. I was his mentor at the time.”
Zhou Jianbai could have won the championship, but right before the semifinals, he confessed his feelings to Sun Qize. With a ten-year age gap and a mentor-student relationship between them, Sun Qize couldn’t accept his feelings. After being rejected, Zhou Jianbai’s performance declined, leading to his defeat in the semifinals and missing the chance to compete for the title.
Sun Qize had always harbored regret over this, feeling that if he hadn’t outright rejected Zhou Jianbai but instead tried to reassure him first, the outcome might have been different.
Sun Qize carried a sense of guilt toward Zhou Jianbai and didn’t know how to face him.
Three months had passed since the competition ended, yet Sun Qize often found himself thinking about Zhou Jianbai, each time feeling a pang of unease in his heart.
He never expected to see Zhou Jianbai here.
The production team had only informed the alpha participants about the show, keeping the omega participants a secret. Had Sun Qize known Zhou Jianbai would be here, he would have backed out of the show immediately.
It wasn’t until the second selection round that Sun Qize finally saw Zhou Jianbai. With pleading eyes, Zhou Jianbai begged him not to refuse, saying, “Teacher Sun, I really need this opportunity.” Sun Qize’s heart softened, and he agreed.
After answering Yu Qingxue’s question, Sun Qize suddenly realized something.
Could it be that Yu Qingxue deliberately arranged for Zhou Jianbai to be on the show?
