Everyone Loves the Alpha, But He’s Not Interested [Transmigration] - Chapter 66
Dong Lingxue was slightly surprised after hearing the explanation.
“This… how could there be such a method?”
Mouth-to-mouth transfer felt far too intimate.
She had intended to refuse, but when she saw the dark silhouettes of the two guards standing outside the door, she hesitated. After a brief pause, she said,
“Alright. Let’s use this method.”
“Come with me.”
Feng Yunyan took Dong Lingxue’s hand and led her behind the folding screen to prevent anyone from seeing them through the doorway.
Dong Lingxue asked, “Should we stand or sit?”
Feng Yunyan smiled softly.
“Standing is easier.”
She raised her hand and gently held Dong Lingxue’s chin.
“Lingxue, close your eyes.”
Dong Lingxue trusted her and shut her beautiful, light-colored eyes without hesitation.
Feng Yunyan stared at her in silence, her expression unreadable.
She had started this lie just to tease Dong Lingxue. She never thought Dong Lingxue would actually agree. Now, caught in her own trap and about to kiss someone who might be her half-sister, Feng Yunyan realized she felt no resistance. Instead, a strange sense of thrill stirred within her.
The pure and dignified saintess, kissed and marked by the Alpha from the demonic sect she detested—what better revenge could there be?
Her lips curved slightly. Her eyes locked on Dong Lingxue’s face as she slowly leaned in, their breaths beginning to mingle.
Dong Lingxue held her breath. Feng Yunyan whispered gently,
“Don’t be afraid. I won’t hurt you.”
A strange glint flickered in Feng Yunyan’s dark eyes.
Dong Lingxue exhaled softly and relaxed.
Feng Yunyan leaned in and pressed her lips gently against Dong Lingxue’s. The soft, cool touch sent a shiver through her, raising goosebumps across her skin.
Feng Yunyan paused, then continued.
Growing up in the demonic sect, she had seen everything. At the age of ten, she had been forced by the previous cult leader to watch him kiss a Beta up close in his chambers.
He believed that no matter how she eventually differentiated—whether Alpha, Beta, or Omega—if she wanted to seduce others, kissing was a skill she had to master.
Feng Yunyan learned to kiss, but ever since, she had grown to hate physical closeness.
Yet now, kissing Dong Lingxue, she felt no aversion.
Instead, a wave of excitement built in her chest. Her breath grew heavier and warmer.
“Cut!”
Ning Xi released her hand and stepped back, breathing unevenly. Across from her, Yu Qingxue looked just as flustered. Her pale cheeks were now flushed pink. Dressed in a flowing white costume, she looked stunning, almost unreal.
The room fell into a stunned silence. No one moved. It was only after Jiang Yuanxin called “cut” that the crew snapped back to reality.
They had all forgotten to close their mouths. The first thing everyone did was swallow hard.
Jiang Yuanxin looked thrilled.
“That was excellent. You two take a short break, touch up your makeup, and we’ll move on to the next scene.”
Ning Xi found it difficult to look Yu Qingxue in the eye.
They had just kissed. And it wasn’t just a kiss—it had been passionate and intense, like they were truly in love.
Ning Xi felt like she was being pulled deeper into her role as Feng Yunyan. Just a glance at Dong Lingxue made her heart feel like it would jump out of her chest.
She knew she would never react like this as herself.
Neither of them said anything. The makeup artists came over. Suddenly, the artist working on Yu Qingxue gasped.
“Oh no!”
Ning Xi turned quickly, her tone filled with concern.
“What happened to Qingxue?”
The artist looked up, a faint blush on her cheeks.
“Her lips are bruised. There’s a small split.”
Ning Xi froze.
“Split? Did I do that?”
Yu Qingxue glanced at her and said,
“Who else would it be?”
Ning Xi touched her own lips, confused.
“I didn’t use my teeth. How did it happen?”
Her makeup artist chuckled.
“If you rub lips too much, they can swell. If you keep going, they’ll split. It’s pretty common.”
“I see…” Ning Xi looked a little embarrassed.
“I’ll be more careful next time.”
Yu Qingxue looked at her silently.
Already thinking about next time?
They finished filming scene thirty-three around midnight. After changing out of costume, Ning Xi stepped out of the dressing room and met Ren Rong walking over.
“Did you find it?”
Ren Rong pulled a small tin from her pocket.
“The doctor said lip injuries heal fast. Just apply this twice, and it’ll be fine.”
Ning Xi took the tin.
“Thanks. I’ll transfer the money to you later.”
Then she rushed back to the dressing room.
Ren Rong had already heard from others on set about how intense the kiss scene had been. Just hearing about it had made her blush. She could only imagine how those who saw it in person must have felt.
Yu Qingxue had just finished changing when she realized Ning Xi was gone. She was about to go look for her when Ning Xi walked back in, holding something in her hand.
“What’s that?” Yu Qingxue asked.
Ning Xi walked up to her and said,
“I asked Ren Rong to buy this healing ointment. The doctor said two applications will do. Let me apply it for you.”
Yu Qingxue hadn’t expected Ning Xi to care so much. The injury was so minor, it didn’t even bleed. If she didn’t drink water, she wouldn’t have felt it at all.
She had actually planned to keep the mark as a reminder of the kiss. But having Ning Xi apply the medicine felt even better.
“Okay.”
Ning Xi washed her hands, came back, and opened the tin. She dipped her fingertip into the ointment.
“Open your mouth a little.”
Yu Qingxue tilted her head and did as she was told.
The cool medicine was applied gently, but Yu Qingxue felt her lips grow hotter with every touch.
Ning Xi looked serious. She applied the ointment once, then a second time before finally pulling her finger back. “All done.”
Yu Qingxue felt the thick layer of ointment on her lips and asked, “Will I end up swallowing the ointment when I drink water?”
“I’ll get a few straws for you from the hotel. If you use a straw, it won’t smear the ointment,” Ning Xi replied, clearly having already thought of a solution.
Yu Qingxue smiled and blinked playfully. “Thank you. You really are my girlfriend.”
Ning Xi smiled back. “You’re welcome. That’s what a girlfriend is supposed to do.”
Back at the hotel, Yu Qingxue drank water using the straw Ning Xi had prepared. She felt satisfied and returned to her room.
Lying on the bed, she felt excited and couldn’t fall asleep no matter how hard she tried.
She picked up her phone and sent a message to Wang You on WeChat. There was no reply, so she figured Wang You had already gone to bed.
Scrolling through her contacts, she found Fang Huailian, whom she hadn’t spoken to in several days. Since she had just kissed his student, she felt it was necessary to let him know.
Yu Qingxue: Dear Old Fang, are you still awake?
Fang Huailian: I thought you were on a closed filming set and couldn’t contact me for three months?
Yu Qingxue: It’s not that I couldn’t contact you. I just couldn’t message you too often. I was worried I might accidentally spoil the plot.
Fang Huailian: How is Ning Xi doing? Has she gotten used to life on set?
Yu Qingxue had been waiting for him to ask that question.
Yu Qingxue: Ning Xi is doing great. We even filmed a kissing scene today.
Fang Huailian: So you messaged me just to brag. I see right through you.
Yu Qingxue: (laughing)
Fang Huailian: That was for the show. What about real life? How is your pursuit of her going?
Yu Qingxue grinned and replied in a calm and casual tone.
Yu Qingxue: It’s going well. Ning Xi is already my girlfriend.
Fang Huailian: That fast? I can’t believe it. You’re definitely hiding something. You’re only telling me half the story.
Yu Qingxue: …
It really is hard to fool a classmate who knows you so well.
Fang Huailian: That ellipsis says it all. I was right. Tell me, how did Ning Xi become your girlfriend?
Yu Qingxue: I staged a scene and then we got together.
Fang Huailian: Incredible.
Yu Qingxue: Ning Xi was really hard to win over. If it weren’t for that scene, who knows how long it would have taken us to move forward.
Fang Huailian: You managed to write nearly seventy thousand words of script while filming? I’m impressed. If you had become a screenwriter, you might be even more famous than Yang Huai by now.
Yu Qingxue: Don’t flatter me. I usually don’t have time to write scripts. If it hadn’t been for chasing Ning Xi, I wouldn’t have written a single word.
Fang Huailian: My wife is telling me to go to bed. We’ll talk next time. Hopefully, you’ll really be in a relationship by then.
Yu Qingxue: Just because you have a wife doesn’t mean you’re special. Ning Xi told me to go to bed early too.
Fang Huailian: (laughing)
The next morning, Ning Xi woke up and checked the time on her phone. It was six thirty.
She saw a WeChat notification on the lock screen. After unlocking her phone, she saw it was a message from Dr. Zhen Qiuyun.
Zhen Qiuyun: Your susceptibility period begins at eight o’clock this morning. Make sure you are prepared.
Ning Xi: Thank you, Dr. Zhen. I have already prepared the pheromone suppressants.
Zhen Qiuyun: Suppressants are not foolproof. Be very careful not to get close to an Omega in heat. If you do, the suppressants may stop working.
Ning Xi: I understand. Thank you, Dr. Zhen.
Ning Xi had no intention of accidentally marking an Omega. She treated her susceptibility period with extreme caution.
Today’s schedule was once again filled with night scenes. Ning Xi set her alarm for 7:40. After getting up and washing up, she ordered breakfast.
During the susceptibility period, an Alpha’s instincts are focused entirely on marking and mating with an Omega. They rarely feel hungry, and can run for three days purely on adrenaline. But Ning Xi’s susceptibility period lasted a full ten days. Adrenaline alone would not be enough.
She needed proper nutrition.
Just as she finished breakfast, her alarm rang again, right on time.
She stood up and returned to the bedroom. From the innermost compartment of her suitcase, she took out a pheromone suppressant.
In the beginning, scientists developed pheromone suppressants in injectable form. Later, after improvements, they were redesigned to be taken orally, which was much more convenient.
Ning Xi opened the suppressant, tilted her head back, and swallowed it all. A slight sweetness lingered in her mouth, but she didn’t feel any changes in her body.
She kept her eyes on the time displayed on her phone, waiting for the susceptibility period to begin at eight o’clock.
The minutes passed steadily. At exactly eight, Yu Qingxue suddenly felt her heartbeat quicken for a few seconds, then returned to normal. Her body showed no further reaction, as if it were just another ordinary morning.
Ning Xi let out a breath of relief. It seemed the suppressant was working fine.
At 9:30 in the morning, Ning Xi ordered another breakfast and went to Yu Qingxue’s room to knock on the door. “Knock knock knock.”
About ten seconds later, Yu Qingxue opened the door. She looked drowsy, her long hair messily draped over her pale shoulders. The silk nightdress she wore was the dark green one Ning Xi had once worn when staying at her place.
“I’m not hungry yet. Let me sleep a little longer,” Yu Qingxue mumbled.
Ning Xi replied firmly, “No, eat breakfast first. Skipping breakfast is bad for your stomach.”
Yu Qingxue felt a sweet warmth in her heart. It was the first time she thought being taken care of like this wasn’t so bad. “Alright, I’ll just eat a little then.”
After washing up, Yu Qingxue came out still wearing the same nightdress.
She sat on the sofa by the coffee table and looked at the breakfast in front of her. The variety of food made her smile. She turned to Ning Xi and said, “These are all my favorites. Thank you.”
Ning Xi sat across from her. “Eat more.”
Only recently had Ning Xi realized that Yu Qingxue’s appetite depended on how many of her favorite foods were available.
For each type of food, she would only eat a small portion. But the more options she had, the more she ended up eating overall.
Ning Xi wanted Yu Qingxue to eat well, to help her recover from her weak physical condition.
After breakfast, Yu Qingxue lazily lay down on the sofa. One of her shoulder straps slipped off, but she didn’t bother to fix it.
“I don’t want to move anymore. I’ll just nap here,” she said, letting out a soft yawn. Her pale eyes filled with tears from the yawn, and her long lashes trembled slightly, now damp and even darker than before.
Ning Xi went to her room to get her a blanket. As she walked out, she caught a glimpse of something on the nightstand that looked like a pheromone suppressant. She paused for a moment, stepped over, and picked it up.
The label on it was different from the one she had bought. Maybe it was something else that just looked very similar to a suppressant.
