Everyone Loves the Alpha, But He’s Not Interested [Transmigration] - Chapter 50
Ning Xi spoke gently, “Can I ask when you and President Yu got together?”
Wang You froze. Yu Qingxue never told me that part!
Her mind raced. She hesitated between making something up and simply staying silent.
“I get it. If you don’t want to say, that’s okay,” Ning Xi said calmly.
Wang You let out a quiet sigh of relief.
But Ning Xi clearly wasn’t finished. Wang You could feel the pressure building again. She regretted not asking Yu Qingxue for the full backstory of their “relationship.” What if Ning Xi asked another question she didn’t know the answer to?
If she got exposed, it meant no escape from pretending to be Yu Qingxue’s girlfriend… forever.
That couldn’t happen.
“Who confessed first, you or President Yu?”
Wang You was speechless. How would I know? I didn’t even write this script.
“Alright, you don’t want to say. That’s fine too.”
“Do you think President Yu loves you more, or you love her more?”
Finally, a question she could answer.
“I think Qingxue loves me more. She’s usually a very independent Omega, but she loves clinging to me,” Wang You said, looking down as she spoke.
“Do you like it when she clings to you?”
Wang You frowned and avoided the question. “Everyone needs their own space.”
“Have you ever thought about marriage?” Ning Xi hesitated, then asked.
Wang You stayed silent for a long moment before she looked down and said, “… Maybe.”
After asking several questions, Ning Xi felt she had a rough idea of what was happening between them. She finally let Wang You go, who looked like she might collapse from interrogation at any moment.
In the bedroom, Yu Qingxue had no idea what they had discussed.
Half an hour later, Ning Xi knocked and entered. Yu Qingxue looked behind her. “Where’s Wang You?”
“I let her go,” Ning Xi replied.
Yu Qingxue looked disappointed but quickly sat up straighter. “So, what did you talk about? How did it go?”
Ning Xi frowned slightly. “Wang You really is timid. At first, she wouldn’t even answer me. She kept her head down and stayed quiet. It got a bit better later.”
Yu Qingxue sighed. “That’s how she is. She shuts down when it comes to talking about anything serious. If she doesn’t want to say something, you can’t make her.”
“I think I understand the root of your problem,” Ning Xi said thoughtfully.
“What is it?” Yu Qingxue looked at her with hopeful eyes that sparkled like stars.
“I’m not very experienced with relationships, but I did a bit of research. I may be wrong,” Ning Xi said cautiously.
“That’s alright. I trust you. I can make my own judgment,” Yu Qingxue reassured her.
Ning Xi summarized her conversation with Wang You, then continued, “It seems Wang You doesn’t like being clung to. But you keep messaging her constantly. She probably feels like she has no personal space, which could be why she doesn’t reply.”
“I think you two need to sit down and really talk. Let her know what you’re thinking, and listen to her too. Only by adjusting for each other can a relationship last.”
Ning Xi didn’t mention that Wang You had hinted at wanting to get married. Given the current laws in Huaguo, Omega-Omega marriages were still illegal. Bringing it up would only worry Yu Qingxue unnecessarily.
After hearing the analysis, Yu Qingxue laughed bitterly. “She’s lying.”
Ning Xi blinked. “Why do you think that?”
Yu Qingxue forced a smile. “That’s not why we have issues. Do you know why I cling to her? It’s because she once told me she liked it. She said it made her feel secure. Because of that, I tried to be more affectionate with her.”
“But now she’s telling you I’m too clingy and that she needs space? She just… doesn’t like me anymore. Anyone would feel suffocated by someone they don’t like.”
Ning Xi realized something important. Relationships weren’t something you could understand by listening to just one person’s side.
If this were just a misunderstanding, it could be solved and they could get back together.
But if Wang You really didn’t love Yu Qingxue anymore, no solution would make the relationship work.
“You two should find a chance to talk things out privately,” Ning Xi said softly. “If she doesn’t love you anymore, there’s a reason. It didn’t happen overnight.”
“Thank you, Ning Xi,” Yu Qingxue said, looking into her eyes. “Without you, I wouldn’t even know where to start.”
Ning Xi gently rubbed the top of Yu Qingxue’s head and said softly,
“Love isn’t everything in life. Whatever the reason may be, it’s not your fault.
To me, you are the most perfect Omega.”
…
After Ning Xi left, Yu Qingxue finally picked up her phone, which had been vibrating for a while. She opened the messages Wang You had sent.
Wang You:
Ning Xi actually asked me when I started liking you.
She even asked who confessed first between us.
I couldn’t answer either question.
Do you think she suspects anything?
Yu Qingxue:
No, she just thinks you were being uncooperative. That’s all.
Wang You:
Thank goodness.
Yu Qingxue:
[Attachment] This is the updated version of our backstory.
It includes all the details—how we supposedly grew up together and fell in love.
Wang You:
What is this supposed to mean?
You don’t expect me to memorize this entire file, do you?
It’s 60 kilobytes, over thirty thousand words!
Yu Qingxue:
Youyou, you’re the best.
When you write a script one day, I promise I’ll memorize it for you too.
Wang You:
…
