Everyone Loves the Alpha, But He’s Not Interested [Transmigration] - Chapter 27
Thirty minutes later, Yu Qingxue and Jiang Yuanxin arrived at the hotel by car.
The assistant director took several suitcases out of the trunk, and the hotel bellboy quickly came over to help with the luggage.
The two of them walked to the front desk to check in. Jiang Yuanxin handed over his ID card.
“We’re from the ‘Ask the Demon’ crew. One business suite, please.”
The receptionist recorded his information and handed him the room key card. Then she glanced at the mysterious woman standing behind him, fully covered in sunglasses and a face mask.
“Will this lady be staying with you in the business suite? According to our hotel’s new policy, all guests are required to provide identification.”
Jiang Yuanxin smiled and said, “She’s not staying with me. She’s booked in the presidential suite.”
The hotel had only arranged two presidential suites. Since Ning Xi, also part of the ‘Ask the Demon’ crew, had already taken one, the receptionist immediately guessed that the woman in front of her must be sharing it with Ning Xi.
She couldn’t help glancing enviously at Yu Qingxue.
Yu Qingxue handed over her ID card. The receptionist looked down while entering the information, then suddenly widened her eyes in surprise.
“You’re… Yu Qingxue?!”
“Yes, that’s me.” Yu Qingxue removed her sunglasses and mask, giving a slight nod.
The receptionist tried to remain calm as she finished the registration and returned the ID with both hands.
“Here’s your card, Miss Yu. Please wait a moment. The butler for the presidential suite will come down to escort you shortly.”
“Thank you.” Yu Qingxue took back her ID. “I can go up myself.”
The receptionist watched as Yu Qingxue and Jiang Yuanxin walked toward the elevator. Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and she pressed her hand against her chest, feeling her heart race. She couldn’t decide whether to be more envious of Ning Xi or Yu Qingxue.
The thought that Yu Qingxue would be sharing a suite with Ning Xi, who was known for her stunning beauty, made the receptionist feel overwhelmed. If it weren’t for the security cameras watching, she would have run laps around the lobby just to let out her excitement.
Jiang Yuanxin’s business suite was on the sixteenth floor. When the elevator reached the floor and the doors opened, he turned to Yu Qingxue.
“President Yu, I’ll get off here. Let’s meet in the lobby at one thirty.”
“Goodbye, President Yu,” the assistant director said as he followed with the luggage.
A hotel staff member pushed the remaining suitcases as he accompanied Yu Qingxue to the seventeenth floor. In front of Room 1788, Yu Qingxue said gently,
“I can bring the suitcases inside myself. Thank you.”
“You’re very welcome. It’s an honor to serve you,” the staff member said, blushing.
Yu Qingxue held the room card in her hand, but she didn’t open the door right away. She took out her phone and sent a message to Ning Xi on WeChat.
Yu Qingxue: I’m outside Room 1788.
Ning Xi: I’ll open the door right now.
Ning Xi arrived at the door and opened it. When she saw the familiar slim figure standing there, she couldn’t hide the joy on her face.
“President Yu.”
Yu Qingxue’s light-colored eyes glanced at the three suitcases beside her. She pouted slightly, almost like she was being playful.
“They’re a bit heavy.”
“Why did you carry them up yourself? Didn’t the hotel staff help you?”
Yu Qingxue pressed her lips together. Her soft curls framed her pale cheeks as she spoke softly.
“There were a lot of people checking in. No staff members were available.”
The staff member who had just left: What? President Yu, that’s not fair!
Ning Xi knew how delicate Yu Qingxue’s health was. She couldn’t imagine how someone who usually lost strength after sitting for too long had managed to carry three heavy suitcases upstairs.
Feeling concerned, Ning Xi gently held Yu Qingxue’s soft and tender hand.
“President Yu, come in and rest. I’ll take care of the suitcases.”
Yu Qingxue’s fingers trembled slightly. The part of her hand touched by Ning Xi began to feel warm. She let Ning Xi guide her into the room and sit on the sofa.
Ning Xi brought the suitcases inside and placed them by the wall. After closing the door, she came to sit next to Yu Qingxue.
She poured her a glass of water and turned to ask softly,
“President Yu, do you still have the strength to hold the cup?”
If she didn’t, Ning Xi was prepared to help her drink it.
Yu Qingxue felt a slight flutter in her heart, but she reached out and took the cup herself.
“I’m not that weak. I still have the strength to drink water.”
Ning Xi thought Yu Qingxue was just pretending to be strong. She kept her eyes on the pale fingers holding the glass, ready to catch it if she lost her grip.
The transparent glass slowly moved toward Yu Qingxue’s lips. With Ning Xi’s gaze following her every movement, her hand trembled slightly and the water inside the glass rippled.
Ning Xi’s eyes moved with the cup as Yu Qingxue gently tilted it and took a sip. The water slid into her red lips.
“Thank you.” Yu Qingxue finished the glass, her cheeks slightly flushed and her breath light. Her lips were moist and full, looking like ripe cherries after a soft autumn rain.
Ning Xi took the empty glass from her trembling hand, then glanced briefly at her lips. For some reason, her mouth suddenly felt dry.
“What floor is your room on?” Ning Xi asked, pouring herself another glass of water. She drank it in one quick gulp, hoping it would ease the dryness in her throat.
Yu Qingxue lifted her gaze and looked at Ning Xi.
“I’m staying here. With you.”
Ning Xi was surprised.
“You’re staying with me? In Room 1788?”
“You don’t want me to?”
There was a trace of displeasure in Yu Qingxue’s voice. Ning Xi quickly explained,
“Of course I want you to. I was just worried that if the paparazzi saw us, it might cause a scandal. After all, you’re an Omega and I’m an Alpha.”
“You don’t need to worry. This hotel is strict about privacy. Paparazzi won’t get in,” Yu Qingxue said calmly.
“That’s a relief.” Ning Xi smiled.
“At first I thought I’d be rooming with Ren Rong, but she and the others are staying in the standard rooms arranged by the crew. Honestly, I felt bad about having the presidential suite all to myself. I’m really glad you’re staying with me. It’s perfect.”
Second step in building a friendship: getting closer.
Ning Xi hadn’t expected to reach this step so soon. Fortunately, Yu Qingxue was an easygoing Omega. If not, Ning Xi would have had no idea how to close the distance between them.
“President Yu, let me move your luggage into the bedroom,” Ning Xi said as she stood and walked over to the suitcases near the door.
“Both bedrooms are the same size and layout. I chose the one on the left. Would you like to take the one on the right?”
Winning someone’s trust came naturally to Ning Xi. Everything she said and did made people feel warm and comfortable.
Yu Qingxue’s heart beat a little faster. She nodded gracefully.
“That works for me.”
“Great. President Yu, would you like me to help you unpack and put your clothes in the wardrobe? You brought quite a lot, and I don’t want you to get tired organizing everything.”
Yu Qingxue thought about the intimate, revealing clothes she had packed. Her ears turned red.
“That would be nice. Thank you.”
“You’re very welcome. I’m really happy you’re here, President Yu.”
Ning Xi pushed two suitcases into the right-side bedroom. The moment she disappeared behind the door, Yu Qingxue could no longer maintain her calm expression. The corners of her lips lifted into a smile.
She was too excited not to share this moment with her best friend, Fang Huailian.
(Fang Huailian: Thanks a lot for dragging me into this.)
Yu Qingxue: Lao Fang! Ning Xi is just too amazing. I think I’m starting to really like her more and more.
Fang Huailian: What did Ning Xi do?
Yu Qingxue edited a summary of their conversation into a voice message and sent it to Fang Huailian.
Yu Qingxue: I almost blushed in front of her.
Fang Huailian: Qingxue, do you know something?
Yu Qingxue: Know what?
Fang Huailian: I blushed too.
Yu Qingxue: Stop it! Don’t you dare compete with me for Ning Xi. If you do, I’ll tell Guan Yujing.
Fang Huailian: If only we had met before I was taken. I’m crying.
Yu Qingxue: I’m being serious. Ning Xi is mine. Mine! Lao Fang, you are absolutely not allowed to go after her.
Fang Huailian: Alright, alright. I’m just teasing. How could I possibly compete with you when you’ve finally found someone who might take you out of singlehood?
Yu Qingxue: Are you being serious? You’re usually so sarcastic. Why are you suddenly joking like this?
Fang Huailian: You want to know why? Because thanks to that failed business deal you made with Guan Yujing, she’s been so busy she hasn’t had time for me in three days. I’m suffering.
Yu Qingxue: …
Yu Qingxue: Lao Fang, I’m sorry. I’ll call Guan Yujing right now and tell her to take a break.
Yu Qingxue had just wanted to share how wonderful Ning Xi was. She didn’t expect that it would nearly turn into introducing a love rival. The thought gave her a moment of panic.
Luckily, Fang Huailian already had Guan Yujing. As long as she kept him satisfied, he wouldn’t have any thoughts about Ning Xi.
Yu Qingxue immediately exited WeChat and called Guan Yujing.
After confirming that Guan Yujing would be returning soon, Yu Qingxue made a firm decision. From now on, she absolutely must not tell anyone else about how amazing Ning Xi was. Ning Xi’s charm would be her little secret.
Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Ning Xi opened the suitcases and began neatly organizing Yu Qingxue’s clothes into the wardrobe.
There were coats and jackets, shirts and t-shirts, dresses and jeans, and also… lingerie?
Ning Xi picked up the light fabric with two fingers. She couldn’t stop her mind from imagining what Yu Qingxue might look like wearing it.
The thoughts became too vivid. Her ears turned slightly red. She quickly placed the pile of delicate underwear in a separate drawer.
She had always known that Yu Qingxue appeared cold on the outside but was warm underneath. She just hadn’t expected her inner self to be quite this bold.
After tidying up the rest, Ning Xi glanced at her phone. It was already twelve ten. Lunchtime.
She placed the empty suitcases in the unused wardrobe, walked out of the bedroom, closed the door, and found herself face-to-face with Yu Qingxue.
“President Yu, are you hungry? Should we order room service?” Ning Xi walked over with a calm expression, though her eyes strangely avoided Yu Qingxue.
She was a little worried that if she looked too closely, she might start imagining things again, and that would feel disrespectful to Yu Qingxue.
Yu Qingxue nodded. “I’ll make the call. You look like you’re sweating. Sit down and rest for a bit.”
Ning Xi raised a hand to her forehead and felt the dampness.
“Actually, I’m not tired. Maybe the room is just a little warm,” she said as she sat across from Yu Qingxue.
But then she thought to herself, the room doesn’t feel that warm. So why am I sweating?
