Everyone Loves the Alpha, But He’s Not Interested [Transmigration] - Chapter 125
Yu Zhangyuan and Yu’s mother had barely been upstairs for ten minutes when Ning Xi heard the voice of the yyds system again.
[Yu Zhangyuan’s skill effects have been reset! Skills completely nullified!]
Ning Xi subtly glanced at Yun Zhaoyue.
Yun Zhaoyue seemed to have already braced herself, maintaining her composure without showing much panic.
Knowing that Yu Zhangyuan now disliked her and would no longer tolerate her due to the lost skill, Yun Zhaoyue quickly turned to Han Shuocheng: “Director Han, it looks like the cameras are mostly packed up. Why don’t I wait for you in the car?”
Han Shuocheng naturally agreed, instructing a staff member to escort Yun Zhaoyue to the car.
“Miss Yun, I’ll join you shortly after double-checking for any missed items. We’ll head to the company together.”
Yun Zhaoyue nodded hastily, too anxious to even bid farewell to Yu Qingxue before hurriedly following the staff out of the Yu residence.
After verifying the camera count matched the installation records and conducting a final sweep to ensure nothing was left behind, Han Shuocheng said to Yu Qingxue, “President Yu, if there’s nothing else, we’ll take our leave now.”
Yu Qingxue lightly lifted her dark lashes. “Why the sudden generosity in offering to bring Yun Zhaoyue into the entertainment industry?”
Han Shuocheng chuckled. “It wasn’t my idea—she developed the ambition herself. Rest assured, I’d never let her obstruct Ning Xi’s path.”
Yu Qingxue warned coolly, “The Yun family may be abroad, but dealing with a small-time director like you would be trivial. Don’t overplay your hand.”
“Understood, President Yu. I know my limits.” As an industry veteran, Han Shuocheng knew exactly whom he could afford to cross. Having taken on Yun Zhaoyue as a gesture to Yu Qingxue and Ning Xi, he’d already prepared countermeasures to manage her carefully.
When Yu Zhangyuan and his wife descended, he frowned at the empty living room. “Where’s Yun Zhaoyue?”
Ning Xi replied, “Uncle Yu, she left earlier with Han Shuocheng.”
Yu’s mother shot him a sidelong glance. “What, you want to chase after her now?”
Yu Zhangyuan quickly placated her, “No, no! We agreed—even if she hadn’t left, I’d have sent her away.”
Her expression softened. “Don’t forget to call Yun Tianxi. We don’t want him blaming us if anything happens to his daughter.” Without waiting for a response, she added, “Call him, then head to work.”
Yu Zhangyuan swallowed his protests, guilt over his recent inexplicable behavior silencing him as he went to make the call.
With the New Year holiday over, Ning Xi didn’t linger at the Yu residence. With barely half a month until the stage performance, she juggled rehearsals alongside classes, while Yu Qingxue grew busier launching new projects at her company. Their only solace was thirty-minute daily video calls.
Three days later, a charity auction finally reunited them. Passing the female beta dormitory near the alpha dorms, Ning Xi spotted Huo Ziling emerging with Zheng Tian in tow. Zheng Tian seemed reluctant until Huo Ziling murmured something reassuring—then she noticed Ning Xi.
“Ning Xi!” Huo Ziling blurted out.
Ning Xi had already noticed the two out of the corner of her eye. She stopped upon hearing them and said, “Long time no see.”
Her gaze swept over their closely pressed shoulders, and she smiled. “You two have… progressed quite quickly. Congratulations.”
Zheng Tian had barely had time to blush at Ning Xi’s breathtaking beauty before Huo Ziling stepped in front of her, blocking her view.
“Thanks, and congratulations to you and Yu Qingxue too,” Huo Ziling said, looking at Ning Xi.
Zheng Tian emerged from behind Huo Ziling, glanced between her and Ning Xi, then forced a smile as she reached behind Huo Ziling’s waist and pinched her hard. “Lingling, we still have to hurry to the charity auction. It wouldn’t do to be late, so let’s skip the small talk for now.”
Huo Ziling’s face twisted in pain for an instant, but she quickly composed herself and said to Ning Xi, “We have things to do, so we’ll head off first. Let’s catch up another time.”
Not daring to look at Ning Xi again, Huo Ziling turned to pull Zheng Tian along.
Zheng Tian dodged her hand and gave Ning Xi a sweet smile. “Bye, Ning Xi~”
Ning Xi: “…Goodbye.”
She seemed to have become a tool for this couple’s jealousy.
When Ning Xi reached the school gate, she saw Yu Qingxue’s car approaching. She bent down to look through the window and was surprised to see Yu Qingxue sitting in the driver’s seat. She opened the door and took the passenger seat.
The warm, sweet fragrance inside the car instantly enveloped Ning Xi, shattering the lingering chill on her skin.
Leaning over, Ning Xi kissed Yu Qingxue’s cheek before fastening her seatbelt. “Why are you driving today?”
Yu Qingxue usually had a chauffeur, so Ning Xi had assumed she didn’t drive.
Yu Qingxue tapped her rosy lips with slender fingers, her eyes glinting playfully. “You’ll find out after the charity auction.”
Ning Xi’s heart felt as if it had been lightly brushed by a feather, stirring a soft, ticklish sensation. She gazed deeply at Yu Qingxue, her voice slightly husky. “Alright, I’ll wait.”
Beihua Academy was half an hour’s drive from the Shengyao Hotel, where the charity auction was being held. With two hours to spare, Yu Qingxue took Ning Xi to her usual salon for styling and changed into an evening gown.
Ning Xi usually dressed casually, so wearing something so formal and walking in high heels felt unfamiliar.
“Qingxue, what do you think?” Ning Xi stepped out of the fitting room and twirled in front of Yu Qingxue.
She didn’t miss the dazzled look in Yu Qingxue’s eyes and smiled as she took her hand. “Let’s go, my love.”
Yu Qingxue was still dazed from the impact of Ning Xi’s beauty, letting herself be led away in a daze. It wasn’t until they were back in the car and Ning Xi had fastened her seatbelt that she finally snapped out of it.
Ning Xi leaned back in her seat, tilting her head with a soft laugh. A strand of hair fell against her cheek, her eyes sparkling. “You see me every day. How can you still be stunned?”
