Everyone Loves the Alpha, But He’s Not Interested [Transmigration] - Chapter 108
Teacher Zhang shared an office with three other acting instructors.
When he pushed the door open, the other teachers merely greeted him with a casual “Class over?” without any particular reaction.
But the moment Ning Xi appeared behind Teacher Zhang, the other three instructors immediately lost their composure.
Teacher One suppressed her excitement and asked, “Is that Ning Xi?”
Ning Xi turned toward the voice and smiled. “Yes, it’s me.”
“I’m really looking forward to your ‘Asking the Demon.’ Have you started exploring other projects recently? Do you need any recommendations for resources?” Teacher Two asked eagerly.
Ning Xi smiled shyly. “Thank you for your support. I haven’t started considering my next project yet.”
Teacher Three chimed in, “Your acting skills were praised by Yu Qingsnow, and you even starred in her film. Didn’t her company sign you? That doesn’t make sense—Qingsnow never lets talent slip away.”
Before Ning Xi could respond, Teacher Zhang cut in, displeased. “She’s my student. Why are you all bombarding her with questions?”
Teacher Zhang had always been blunt, so the others weren’t offended. Teacher Three chuckled and joked, “Well, I guess you don’t need my help with resources. Who could compete with Teacher Zhang, whose students number in the thousands? Just ask him to introduce you to a few senior alumni, and you’ll benefit immensely.”
Teacher Zhang raised an eyebrow smugly. “That’s the truth.”
Just then, the office door was knocked.
Ning Xi, who hadn’t closed the door after entering, turned at the sound and saw Yu Qingsnow standing at the entrance. Her smile instantly softened. “You’re here so early?”
Yu Qingsnow’s red lips curved as she stepped inside, casually shutting the door behind her. “Because I wanted to see you sooner.”
Her voice was just loud enough for all four teachers to hear clearly.
Teacher Zhang: “???”
Teachers One, Two, and Three: “…”
Teacher Zhang froze for a second before frowning. “Qingsnow, you’re not a child anymore. You should speak more responsibly. Ning Xi hasn’t established herself firmly in the entertainment industry yet. If people misunderstand what you just said, it won’t do her any good.”
After confirming that Yu Qingsnow wasn’t “sponsoring” Ning Xi, Teacher Zhang had assumed their relationship was purely sisterly or professional. Hearing Yu Qingsnow say something that bordered on flirtation, he instinctively wanted to protect Ning Xi—his talented student—from unnecessary gossip.
Yu Qingsnow blinked innocently, her long, curled lashes fluttering like tiny fans. “Teacher Zhang, I was just speaking my mind. What exactly are you and the other teachers misunderstanding?”
Teacher Zhang huffed. “Of course we’d think there’s something between you two. What else could it be?”
Unlike the rigid Teacher Zhang, the other three instructors took one look at Ning Xi’s unbothered, even adoring expression toward Yu Qingsnow and immediately understood. They shot sympathetic glances at Teacher Zhang.
This old Zhang… completely clueless. They’re obviously a couple—what’s wrong with a little sweet talk?
Teacher One sighed. “Old Zhang, young people have their own way of doing things. Let’s not interfere.”
Still oblivious, Teacher Zhang insisted, “Young people lack experience. If we don’t step in, how will they last long?”
“Qingxue, you need to apologize to Ningxi immediately. You must never say such ambiguous things in front of outsiders again.”
Yu Qingxue took Ningxi’s hand and gave it a gentle shake. “Go on, explain to Professor Zhang—did you mind what I just said?”
Ningxi clasped Qingxue’s hand in return, enveloping it warmly, and looked up at Professor Zhang. “Professor, actually Qingxue and I are already together.”
Teachers 1, 2, and 3: Just as we suspected!
Professor Zhang: “…What did you say? Say that again.”
Ningxi raised their joined hands and pressed a light kiss to Qingxue’s palm. “Professor Zhang, Qingxue is my girlfriend.”
Professor Zhang: “…!!!”
Though the other three teachers had sensed something between them, having no proof, Ningxi’s outright confession left them stunned.
Teacher 2: “When did you two get together? Weren’t you playing lovers in the movie?”
Just as Qingxue was about to answer, Professor Zhang interjected sharply, “Don’t tell me it was during filming.”
Qingxue and Ningxi exchanged a glance, her clear eyes shimmering with tenderness. “Well… more or less around that time.”
Professor Zhang whirled on Ningxi. “Ningxi, your acting is impeccable—once you embody a role, it’s hard to completely shake off those feelings.”
“I can tell Qingxue is serious about this relationship. But Ningxi—have you truly stepped out of character?” Professor Zhang’s piercing gaze locked onto Ningxi’s eyes, determined to protect her student from potential heartbreak.
“Professor Zhang—” Qingxue started.
“Let Ningxi answer,” Professor Zhang cut in. “You stay quiet for now.”
Qingxue pursed her lips, shooting Ningxi a silent “you’re on your own” look.
Ningxi met the professor’s gaze earnestly. “Professor, I’m certain I’ve fully detached from Feng Yunyan’s role. What Qingxue and I have—” She turned to share a smile with Qingxue, the air between them practically sparkling with pink bubbles, “—contains no remnants of performance.”
Qingxue added sweetly, “We’d never lie to you, Professor Zhang.”
After scrutinizing their expressions for any hint of pretense, Professor Zhang finally relented. “Alright, I’ll take your word for it—for now.”
Turning to the other teachers, she warned, “Not a word of this leaves this room. If I hear rumors, I’m holding you three responsible.”
Teachers 1, 2, and 3: “…”
We didn’t eavesdrop on purpose! Why are we being threatened over accidental information?
“Don’t worry, Lao Zhang,” Teacher 3 reassured. “When have we ever been gossips? After ‘Asking Demons’ releases, we’ll treat you to the movie.”
Ningxi offered, “Actually, Qingxue and I are currently filming a dating show together. We plan to go public after it wraps.”
Teacher 1 gasped. “Announcing a relationship right after entering the industry? Aren’t you worried about losing fans?”
Ningxi smiled confidently. “Not at all. I’m an actor—as long as I deliver good work, the fans will follow.”
Qingxue’s eyes gleamed as she added, “With me around, Ningxi will never lack quality scripts. It’ll be a virtuous cycle—she might even surpass my fanbase someday.” Her tone held no jealousy, only pride and absolute faith in her partner.
Teachers 1, 2, and 3: internal screaming THANK YOU FOR THE ROMANCE NOURISHMENT!
Teacher Zhang was force-fed a mouthful of “dog food” (witnessing public displays of affection). He patted his chest to calm himself and said, “You young people certainly have your own ideas. It was my misunderstanding—I didn’t think it through properly.”
“Ning Xi, come here. I have something to say to you.” Teacher Zhang sat down and beckoned Ning Xi over.
Yu Qingxue didn’t need to be told—she naturally followed Ning Xi. Standing side by side, their similar heights made them look like a perfect jade pair.
Teacher Zhang glanced at Yu Qingxue but didn’t send her away. He said to Ning Xi, “Originally, I called you here to give you some advice about navigating the entertainment industry. But now, that’s unnecessary. With Qingxue by your side, those dirty tricks won’t touch you.”
“What I’m about to say might not be pleasant to hear, but as your teacher, I feel it’s my duty to play the ‘villain’ here. While Qingxue is undoubtedly your support, you shouldn’t become overly reliant on her.”
“If—and I say if—you two ever break up, Qingxue holding all your secrets could crush you with just a flick of her finger.”
Yu Qingxue immediately interjected, “Teacher Zhang, Ning Xi and I will never break up.”
Ning Xi added, “Since being with Qingxue, I’ve never once considered separation. She’s the one I love—her soul, her appearance. No matter how much time passes, we’ll remain each other’s one and only. That will never change.”
Teacher Zhang: “…”
Good grief! He’d only said a couple of sentences, and already they were making grand romantic vows. He was their teacher, not a wedding officiant! There was really no need for this in front of him!
Suppressing his exasperation, Teacher Zhang ignored their sweet nothings and continued, “I’m not just looking out for Qingxue—I’m looking out for Ning Xi too. Both of you are outstanding students of mine, and I don’t want to see either of you come to harm.”
“Alright, enough lecturing. Qingxue clearly can’t be bothered to listen, but Ning Xi paid attention—well done.” Teacher Zhang praised Ning Xi.
Ning Xi smiled. “It’s enough that Qingxue keeps me in her thoughts. I’ll remember everything else for her.”
Teacher #123 internally: Holy crap! What kind of wild talk is this?! I’m dying from the sweetness!
Teacher Zhang: “…” Not interested in this sugar rush, thank you very much. [Utterly resigned]
