Even If You're My Senior, It's Still Forbidden - Chapter 15
“Would you like to sit cross-legged?”
Leaning sideways didn’t seem very comfortable. The moment Ji Weining finished speaking, the swing beneath them extended a large section. Su Jin’an followed her suggestion, lifting her legs and settling into a cross-legged position. Ji Weining did the same, and the two faced each other. In an instant, vines sealed off the space around them, forming a square enclosure.
Ji Weining began gathering spiritual energy into her right hand, which was connected to Su Jin’an’s. Su Jin’an’s palm, previously chilled by the wind, began to grow warm. Before she could feel the spiritual energy entering her body, it lingered and roamed within her palm.
The spiritual energy felt like feathers, gently brushing against her palm, causing a slight itch. Unable to bear it, Su Jin’an said, “Senior Sister, can you go faster?”
“Let Junior Sister get used to it first.” Ji Weining could sense that Su Jin’an’s spiritual energy was nearly depleted. If she rushed in too quickly, her junior sister might need several days to recover, which would only waste time.
“Mm,” Su Jin’an murmured in response.
The spiritual energy then transformed into fine threads, seeking out a meridian in her palm. It seeped through her skin, layer by layer, and entered Su Jin’an’s body.
“Junior Sister, control it.” Ji Weining’s meaning was clear: she wanted Su Jin’an to take control of the spiritual energy, making what was originally hers her own.
Su Jin’an mustered the scant spiritual energy left in her body to envelop the incoming energy. The moment the two energies touched, her body trembled uncontrollably. Her legs twitched, causing the swing beneath them to sway.
Ji Weining used her left hand to support Su Jin’an’s body, but even that couldn’t stabilize the already unsteady swing, which began to sway even more violently.
Su Jin’an struggled to voice her need. As she gradually gained control over the spiritual energy from Ji Weining, she felt a growing void within her, as if a large portion of her spiritual energy had been depleted. “Senior Sister, it’s uncomfortable. Please hurry.”
“Alright,” Ji Weining said gently. She gathered spiritual energy in her left hand as well, this energy as light as mist, soothing Su Jin’an’s meridians. Meanwhile, her right hand continued to channel a large amount of spiritual energy into Su Jin’an.
Bit by bit, the spiritual energy merged, becoming Su Jin’an’s own. A hint of red appeared in her eyes, and tears streamed uncontrollably from the corners.
“Should we stop?”
“N-No,” Su Jin’an murmured.
She wanted to quickly absorb this spiritual energy, to make it hers. She wanted to grow stronger swiftly, to possess enough power, regardless of where it came from.
Worried that Su Jin’an couldn’t endure it, Ji Weining slowed down the process. The stream of spiritual energy became thinner, transforming into fine threads as it flowed in.
Like a continuous drizzle, the strain on her human body had already exceeded its limits, especially around her waist, which could no longer bear the burden. Yet Su Jin’an refused to let herself collapse. She began circulating the spiritual energy she had just made her own.
“Senior Sister,” Su Jin’an whispered.
“What’s wrong?”
“Just a little more.”
With the last thread of energy, she could attempt to break through to the Golden Core stage.
“That’s enough, Junior Sister.” Ji Weining withdrew her spiritual energy and reached out to support Su Jin’an’s faltering body, drawing closer to her.
Su Jin’an’s constitution was still too weak. Now, she couldn’t even stand on her own. She had pushed herself too far.
The moment Ji Weining cut off the spiritual energy, Su Jin’an had no choice but to relent, her entire body going limp. “Mm.”
The spiritual energy that had been supporting Su Jin’an from the outside stealthily seeped into her body, gradually absorbed by her meridians like a frog slowly boiled in warm water, funneling the necessary energy into her golden core.
Su Jin’an could feel this surplus of spiritual energy but no longer had the strength to control it. In the end, it was a case of forcing growth prematurely.
“Come back in a few days and take it more conservatively,” Ji Weining said as she removed the protective barriers around them, leaning close to Su Jin’an’s ear. “Can you get up?”
The swing swayed from Ji Weining’s movements. She turned slightly, planting one foot firmly on the ground to stabilize it, while her hands rested on Su Jin’an’s shoulders.
Su Jin’an weakly raised her arms and draped them around Ji Weining’s neck, whispering softly, “I can’t get up. Senior Sister, carry me.”
“Junior Sister, you’re so delicate,” Ji Weining’s tone carried a mix of helplessness and affection. She stepped off the swing, wrapped an arm around Su Jin’an’s waist, and lifted her up.
Su Jin’an rested her head on Ji Weining’s shoulder, watching the swing recede into the distance. Pressed closely against Ji Weining, she felt a sense of security she had never experienced before.
Truthfully, she hadn’t expected her senior sister to actually carry her.
“Still dare to try again?” Ji Weining asked.
Su Jin’an tilted her cherry-like lips close to Ji Weining’s ear. “Why wouldn’t I dare? One session with Senior Sister is worth half a month of my own cultivation.”
Given her rate of absorbing spiritual energy, it would take her over half a month to fully assimilate it all. The fastest method indeed still required her senior sister’s help.
The warm breath brushing against Ji Weining’s ear inadvertently caused a blush to spread across it.
A smile tugged at Ji Weining’s lips. She didn’t mind her junior sister needing her or even using her but she didn’t want her to suffer any physical harm. “Junior Sister, you should take it easy and be mindful of your body.”
“Is Senior Sister running out of spiritual energy for me?” Su Jin’an asked coyly.
“Besides, I still have you, don’t I?”
After a few steps, they reached the room. Ji Weining set her down, and Su Jin’an immediately sprawled sideways across the bed.
The exhaustion in her body was so overwhelming she couldn’t even sit up. She felt like a lump of flattened flesh, her bones screaming for rest.
Ji Weining reached for her feet, removing her shoes and socks.
“Senior Sister, could you use a cleansing spell on me?” Su Jin’an gazed in her direction. During her absorption of spiritual energy, sweat had drenched her back, making her extremely uncomfortable.
“Alright,” Ji Weining hesitated for a moment. She knew it wasn’t realistic for Su Jin’an to bathe now. After a brief internal struggle, she moved her hand, shaping her spiritual energy into a cleansing spell and casting it over Su Jin’an. The moment the spell took effect, she could almost sense the contours of the body beneath the clothes. One more second, and it might have led to a different story. This was precisely why she was reluctant to use cleansing spells on Su Jin’an.
Instantly, Su Jin’an felt much fresher. This was her first time experiencing a cleansing spell, though it still couldn’t compare to the comfort of an actual bath. But it would have to do for now.
Ji Weining asked, “Do you want to change your clothes?”
“Of course!” Su Jin’an raised her voice.
The damp clothes clinging to her skin were unbearable. If she could change, she definitely would!
Ji Weining felt as though she had shot herself in the foot. Perhaps she shouldn’t have agreed to this. Recalling the last time she helped her change, it was a memory she’d rather forget.
“Maybe you should do it yourself, Junior Sister,” Ji Weining suggested tactfully.
Su Jin’an lay motionless on the bed, her eyes pleading pitifully.
“Fine, I’ll do it.”
Ji Weining rummaged through the closet and pulled out the clothes she had previously altered for Su Jin’an. As she reached inside, she found her own prepared nightgown along with a few of her junior sister’s personal undergarments. She took out the nightgown and hesitated for a moment. “Do you need to change everything?”
Su Jin’an replied casually, “Just help me change into the nightgown.”
“Has junior sister always been like this?” Ji Weining asked abruptly as she brought over the nightgown, the words weighing heavily on her heart. She wanted to know whether her junior sister treated everyone this way.
Su Jin’an used what little strength she had left to prop herself up. “Not at all,” she said before collapsing back down, utterly unwilling to move. Ji Weining’s entire body ached as if her bones had been half-shattered.
“Understood,” Ji Weining said, supporting her body as she untied her clothes. The ties loosened and fell, her fingers pausing hesitantly. As a healer, she had seen it all before though, admittedly, most of what she had seen were corpses.
She gripped the collar of the garment and slowly began to pull it off from the edges. Lifting Su Jin’an’s arm, she removed the sleeves one by one. Once the outer robe was off, only her junior sister’s inner garments remained.
“Are you sure you want me to take this off?” Ji Weining asked once more.
Su Jin’an looked at her with puzzled eyes. “What is senior sister so hesitant about?”
“Has senior sister never undressed anyone before?” she added, a faint smile curling her lips.
Ji Weining pressed her lips together. She had indeed undressed someone before but that was. Well, it was true she had.
“Mhm.”
Ji Weining knelt down, her fingers grasping the delicate ties of the inner garment. In the end, she closed her eyes. Even though Su Jin’an was also a woman like herself, it wasn’t that she didn’t dare to look. To her, others were merely flesh and blood but Su Jin’an was different.
She didn’t dare look at her.
Su Jin’an glanced down and noticed the long, delicate lashes of her senior sister, whose eyes were shut. So this was how she had changed her clothes last time. Wasn’t she a healer? Why would she be concerned about such things?
“Are you afraid of seeing me, senior sister?” Su Jin’an’s words seemed to bewitch Ji Weining’s heart like a demon’s whisper.
The ties had already come loose. Ji Weining slightly bent her knees, one hand groping for the collar of the garment while the other supported Su Jin’an’s shoulder to keep her from falling. Su Jin’an lay in her hands like a cloth doll, completely at her mercy.
“Senior sister, why won’t you answer me?”
Ji Weining didn’t understand the reason for her own behavior. Every time she came into contact with Su Jin’an, she felt a sense of familiarity.
It was something the divine oracle refused to reveal to her. She had often wondered: if the oracle wouldn’t speak, then she would uncover the truth of why it had acted this way on her own.
Finally, helpless, Ji Weining responded, “Junior sister, I don’t know.”
“It feels as though. I’ve known you from long ago.”
“It seems we’ve known each other for a very long time.” Otherwise, the oracle wouldn’t have spoken those words, would it?
Ji Weining understood clearly in her heart: the oracle was not something that acted without reason. Since it had spoken, what had happened in the past? And why, of all people, was it her?
“Why do you say that, senior sister?” Su Jin’an didn’t understand the meaning behind her words, just as she didn’t understand why everyone in the world sought to cultivate immortality. She placed a hand on Ji Weining’s shoulder and whispered softly, “Open your eyes and look at me. Answer me, please?”
“Alright.” Ji Weining’s hand, which had been gripping the collar, loosened and fell to her side.
Her eyelashes trembled slightly, and her heart pounded like a drum.
“Senior Sister, answer me,” Su Jin’an said softly, his words echoing beside Ji Weining’s ear.
