Dr. Chi’s Mission: Seduce Officer Su - Chapter 40.3
The suite Chi Jue had booked wasn’t in the towering hotel building but in the more secluded forest villa area, further away.
To protect guests’ privacy and ensure a high-quality experience, the standalone villas were spaced at a discreet distance from one another. In addition to the tall surrounding walls, dense greenery on three sides formed a natural, impenetrable barrier, nearly engulfing the two-story Western-style house.
Chi Jue specifically instructed the manager to arrange their suite in the farthest corner of the villa area. Since it wasn’t yet the peak Spring Festival travel season, the occupancy rate was already low, and hiding in the most secluded spot ensured they wouldn’t be disturbed.
After the manager left, Su Qiao took several rounds inside and outside the villa.
Her main purpose was to check the level of privacy. With an open-air hot spring bath available, her professional instincts drove her to ensure everything was foolproof.
“Relax, the privacy protection here is very thorough.” Knowing Su Qiao was as jumpy as a startled bird, Chi Jue took her hand and led her toward the villa’s backyard.
To reach the backyard, they had to pass through the main guest room on the first floor. Once they crossed the sliding door, they could see the hot spring pool, continuously steaming with mist.
Just as Chi Jue had said, the resort took comprehensive measures to protect guests’ privacy. Above the hot spring pool was an automatic anti-peeping cover, adjustable via remote control.
When extended, the cover functioned as a one-way mirror. Those inside could enjoy the view above the high walls without worrying about being spied on, and they could still soak in the hot spring even in wind or rain.
Su Qiao breathed a sigh of relief, silently marveling at how thoughtful the designer had been. Truly, money could fuel human imagination!
Chi Jue tiptoed behind her and, without warning, wrapped her arms around Su Qiao’s waist, murmuring in a muffled voice, “I’m sorry… for causing trouble at your work…”
Su Qiao turned around in surprise, her gaze falling on Chi Jue’s face, which was buried deep in guilt, stirring a warm, protective tenderness in her heart.
It dawned on her then that Chi Jue had arranged all of this to help soothe the anxiety her work had brought on.
Gently, she caressed her girlfriend’s face, her fingertips moving with the lightest touch, afraid of hurting that delicate skin.
She shook her head emphatically, trying instead to comfort her: “Silly, this has nothing to do with you. Why are you apologizing?”
“How can it have nothing to do with me? You got into this mess because you were helping me handle that dispute. Seeing all those attacks against you online breaks my heart, I can’t even imagine how much it must hurt you…”
Chi Jue let out a choked sigh, her breath warm with emotion. She felt she lacked the ability to protect Su Qiao when it came to major issues, and at critical moments, she couldn’t even find an effective and reliable solution.
“Protecting you is something I do willingly, and I’m prepared to face the consequences, good or bad. Please don’t apologize. If it happened again, I’d still choose to handle the troublemaker the same way. Honestly, when I hit him, I had my own selfish motives, something a law enforcer shouldn’t have. So, in a way, it’s a small karmic payback.”
“Why did you hit him…” Chi Jue’s fists, soft as cotton, landed weakly on Su Qiao, full of reproach. This only made her feel more guilty. “Why didn’t you think about the consequences?”
“My girlfriend was pushed down the stairs, of course, I had to teach that jerk a lesson. Not grinding him into the dirt was me being merciful… Alright, alright, don’t cry. I promise I won’t do it again.” Su Qiao comforted the tearful Chi Jue, unable to bear the sight of her weeping, delicate face.
“You have no idea how worried I was today. I kept thinking and thinking but couldn’t come up with a better way to help you.”
“Do you think we police officers are just for show? We solved the problem in no time! Don’t blame yourself, this really isn’t your fault. If anyone’s to blame, it’s that troublemaking family for not knowing the law. Ignorance is always so frustrating and exasperating!”
Looking at Dr. Chi’s flushed nose, the moist redness at the corners of her eyes, and even the trembling sob in her voice, all of it stirred Su Qiao’s urge to swiftly take possession.
Leaning down, she kissed away the tears welling in the corners of Chi Jue’s eyes. The taste transmitted by her tongue was bitter and astringent, likely because the backlash from the public opinion had kept her on edge all day.
Su Qiao’s heart ached as she wrapped her arms around Chi Jue’s waist and lifted her, settling onto the bed and letting Chi Jue straddle her lap.
Meeting those eyes, now red and swollen like a little rabbit’s, she murmured between intoxicating kisses along her fragrant neck, “So you went through all this trouble arranging these activities just to cheer me up?”
Chi Jue had never considered herself particularly sensitive, but Su Qiao seemed like a customized aphrodisiac made just for her.
With just one kiss, the sticky, slick sensation became uncontrollable.
“Mmm…” One moment she was crying out of guilt, the next, she was teased by Su Qiao to the point of forgetting how to cry. A pleasurable, low moan escaped uncontrollably from her nose. “Susu… I want you to hold me right now… What do we do?”
Su Qiao didn’t answer but firmly held Chi Jue’s waist, turning over to press her down into the soft mattress.
“Don’t you think I want it too?”
Just as she was about to lean in for another kiss, Chi Jue shyly turned her face away. “No, no, let’s go eat first. Can you hold on a little longer?”
“Ah, you’re really something.”
Su Qiao appeared to comply magnanimously, but inwardly, [Image of a bristling dog biting the sheets and writhing like a maggot.]
…
The night was far from clear; at some point, dark clouds had abruptly blotted out the sky.
Under the endless pitch-black night, the Chi Cheng Building remained brightly lit.
An Jiaqin leaned wearily back in her executive chair, reviewing an urgent document spread out before her. A pile of unprocessed files still lay stacked on her desk.
Working overtime was the norm, and it had drained her energy.
Knock, knock, knock.
The sound of knocking shattered the room’s silence.
“Come in.”
Too preoccupied to look up, she simply called out and continued marking up the urgent document.
Assuming it was her secretary with some matter, she waited a moment but heard no further movement.
Suddenly remembering she had already dismissed her secretary for the day, she suspiciously lifted her head to look toward the door.
The woman who pushed the door open was a stranger, slender and tall, dressed in a white coat that reached her ankles. Even the fox fur collar adorning it was pure, unblemished white, making her already pale complexion appear even more bloodless. From a distance, she looked like a mannequin in a display window.
She possessed the most common traits of mixed heritage, her delicate features enhanced by makeup to an almost unreal beauty.
The moment An Jiaqin saw her, she detected the scent of a kindred spirit, a gloomy aura that even a head-to-toe white outfit couldn’t conceal.
Setting down the document, she rested her chin on her hands and stared at the woman gliding toward her. “Who are you?”
The woman’s fiery red lips curved into a sinister smile, her eyes gleaming with a sinister light.
She, too, sensed the same kinship, so she didn’t hold back in her demeanor, pulling out a guest chair and gracefully seating herself. “Shen Tingwan.”
An Jiaqin picked up the already cold coffee and took a small sip. The intense bitterness dispelled her fatigue as she said coldly, “No matter who you are, you shouldn’t be in my office at this hour.”
“The gift I prepared for you, do you like it?”
Shen Tingwan elegantly propped her chin with one hand, casually picking up a pen to twirl between her fingers. Her intense gaze locked onto An Jiaqin’s eyes, the smile that didn’t reach her pupils sending a chill down one’s spine.
“Gift?” An Jiaqin frowned slightly. Having been busy all day, she hadn’t received any gift, so she spread her hands and shrugged. “I still don’t understand what you’re trying to say. But right now, I’m more curious, how did you get up here?”
“This isn’t some heavily guarded base. There are plenty of ways to ride the elevator up,” Shen Tingwan said lazily, resting her cheek on her shoulder as if mocking the company’s security as useless.
In just a few brief exchanges, An Jiaqin had already labeled the woman before her as a femme fatale. She sensed a hint of danger.
“What do you mean by ‘gift’?”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. You’re more foolish than I imagined. No, I shouldn’t say that about a future partner. To be precise, you’re more slow-witted than I expected. Don’t you read the headlines?”
Shen Tingwan’s words were far from pleasant, but they revealed her intentions. She believed An Jiaqin wasn’t foolish enough to miss the olive branch being extended.
“So, it was you behind this.” An Jiaqin had, of course, seen the viral video of Su Qiao hitting someone and let out a knowing, mocking laugh. “What does that have to do with me?”
“I pulled a little trick just for you. How disappointing, you didn’t even say thank you~” Shen Tingwan’s tone remained unhurried.
She feigned innocence, pouting slightly as she studied An Jiaqin’s expression from across the desk. To her, this was a gain, at least the other woman knew how to conceal her emotions.
It was enough to prove that An Jiaqin could master her feelings.
“Don’t you dare use my name to justify your shady actions. I don’t even know you. Your motives are far from pure, and I have no reason to accept such a ‘generous gift,’ do I?”
An Jiaqin had no intention of getting involved in this mess. Though seeing Su Qiao being torn apart online did bring her some satisfaction, ultimately, it had nothing to do with her.
She was a businesswoman, and businesspeople knew how to separate their interests. Anything that could tarnish her reputation was something she wouldn’t do or even touch.
“No, this is just a small token of my goodwill. I believe we’ll be on the same side someday. Right now, your An family is nothing but a parasite of the Chi family. Isn’t it difficult to break away and start anew?” Shen Tingwan smiled, picking up a scrap of paper from the desk and writing down her number with the pen.
“Get out.” Perhaps struck where it hurt, An Jiaqin’s face darkened as she sharply ordered her to leave.
“Did I hit a nerve?” Shen Tingwan stood up in response, smoothing her fox fur collar. When her gaze returned to An Jiaqin, her smile grew even more sinister. “If you ever develop ambition, remember to contact me. We have different, yet similar, goals. At the very least… you might just win Chi Jue back~”
“People call you ‘General Manager An’, sounds so respectable, but in the end, you’re just a high-level employee making money for the family head~ I’m off, no need to see me out.” As she spoke, she kissed the paper in her hand, leaving a red lipstick mark over the phone number, then casually tossed it toward An Jiaqin.
Shen Tingwan, like a phantom in the dark night, faded from An Jiaqin’s sight with a touch of wild, audacious white.
She lowered her gaze to the paper bearing the seductive lip print, suppressing the anger stirred by the words, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it into the trash.
Meanwhile, in a temporary project office set up at a hotel.
Jiang Cha stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, sipping an iced cola.
“Captain Jiang, this document was just encrypted and sent by an informant through a gaming platform. We’ve already translated it.”
Jiang Cha took the file and waved the officer away.
She leaned lazily against the glass window, carefully reading under the dim indoor light.
The content was brief, just a few lines. She picked up a match from the nearby side table and lit the paper in her hand.
A purplish-red lightning bolt tore through the sky, dark as silk.
As if nothing had happened, she watched the paper blazing in the ashtray. Though her face remained as calm as still water, this secret intelligence was enough to disrupt everyone’s peaceful lives.
Turning back to admire the neon-lit night of Zhouhai City, she took a sip of cola and chuckled softly, “The weather’s about to change.”
A delayed rumble of thunder roared across the sky, drowning out her quiet sigh just before the downpour began.
