Dr. Chi’s Mission: Seduce Officer Su - Chapter 40.2
“I’m not afraid of anything else, just idle gossip. As a public servant, your flashy sports car is a bit too high-profile.” Having just dealt with rumors in the breakroom, Su Qiao felt it was better to be cautious. Especially during such a sensitive time, it was best to avoid unnecessary trouble.
Chi Jue understood her need to be mindful of appearances and didn’t want to put her in the spotlight again, so she quickly rolled up the window to block the curious gazes.
Taking advantage of the moment when no one was passing in front of the windshield, Su Qiao couldn’t resist her impulse. She leaned in and planted a series of kisses and playful nibbles on her girlfriend’s ear.
Breathing in the calming scent of cedar, she whispered with gentle remorse, “I’m sorry I didn’t call you today.”
Chi Jue ruffled her hair and whispered affectionately into her ear, “No apologies. I know you were busy today, which is why I behaved and didn’t disturb you. Come on, let me take you somewhere nice to eat~”
“Don’t spend too much. Grandma is waiting for us to have dinner at home.” Su Qiao didn’t want their relationship to become imbalanced because of material things and preferred to save wherever possible.
The thought of having her bonus deducted made her heart ache with regret. She had been counting on that money to buy Chi Jue a decent gift, but now it seemed that plan was doomed to fail.
Chi Jue had anticipated her reluctance and gently pinched her cheek, whispering coaxingly, “I’ve already asked Grandma for time off. Tonight’s plans are all set. While I’m still on mandatory leave, you should take this chance to enjoy our alone time. Once my practice resumes, you’ll regret missing out.”
Su Qiao lifted Chi Jue’s hand to her lips and kissed it, looking puzzled. “There’s more planned for tonight?”
“Mhm, you’ll find out soon~”
…
Chi Jue maneuvered the Ferrari through the congested overpass, and as they finally hit the road leading out of the city, it felt like a small boat breaking free from a dam.
In the depths of winter, a rare amber sunset painted the vast sky with layers of distinct clouds, a little romance gifted by the sun to the world.
“Where are we going?”
“Why are we heading out of the city?”
“You’re so annoying! You’ve got me all curious, but you just won’t tell me!”
As the car passed through the ETC and onto the highway, Su Qiao leaned against the window, chattering away with questions. Yet, her cunning girlfriend remained tight-lipped about their destination.
Just before the first highway rest area, Chi Jue changed lanes and pulled in.
After parking the car, she unbuckled her seatbelt and urged, “Would you really make your girlfriend suffer as the driver? It’s your turn to drive.”
“Me?” Su Qiao pointed at her own nose, then stared longingly at the sleek, high-tech dashboard. She wanted to experience the powerful acceleration, but she lacked confidence in handling such a fine car. “Better not. I’ve never driven anything this nice before. I’m afraid…”
Before the little bear could finish, Chi Jue leaned in and captured her lips in a passionate, dizzying kiss.
Finally, in this sparsely populated place, they could release all the pent-up longing from a whole day apart. The restraint melted away, replaced by a drizzle of kisses that filled the void.
Even the usually composed and measured Dr. Chi couldn’t resist the impulses of being deeply in love.
When busy, she could distract herself with other matters, but once idle, her thoughts would drift uncontrollably, to the dark-skinned wild leopard that only emerged at night, and to the serious, businesslike demeanor Su Qiao wore during the day as her “little bear.”
The soft, plump sensation on their lips gradually grew heated. Chi Jue pulled back slightly, deliberately admiring the blush on Su Qiao’s face, her eyes crinkling with amusement. “Did you forget to take the lead because you’re shy?”
“Not at all!” Su Qiao stubbornly refused to admit that her racing heart had painted her cheeks red. Instead, she wrapped her arms around Chi Jue’s waist, pulling her closer, craving more kisses. “I’ve realized there’s a benefit to not contacting each other for a day.”
“Do tell.” Amused by this remark, Chi Jue looped her arms around Su Qiao’s neck, almost ready to straddle the little bear’s lap.
“The benefit is…” Su Qiao teased like she would a kitten, her fingertips stroking that soft jawline before finally cupping the back of Chi Jue’s neck to draw her lips closer.
A slick tongue slipped into the cool, faintly sweet mouth, seeking out the nearly dissolved mint gum. They played a back-and-forth game between their lips and teeth, savoring each other’s taste until, reluctantly, they finally parted.
Chi Jue brushed her nose against the little bear’s. “You still haven’t told me, what’s the benefit?”
“This will only make me crave more.” Su Qiao couldn’t resist biting Chi Jue’s lips again, giving her a fierce, teasing punishment.
The car was filled with a restless, ambiguous tension. Clinging to her last shred of rationality, Chi Jue had to push against Su Qiao’s shoulders and plead, “Don’t… not now… be good, okay?”
Su Qiao’s lips lingered near her ear, venting her frustration on the soft, smooth earlobe with another wave of sensitive teasing. “You’re the one who started the fire…”
“And who was it that stirred up all these feelings this morning, then ran off without taking responsibility?” Chi Jue felt she had successfully gotten her revenge. She lightly tapped the little bear’s chest a few times before turning to push the car door open, pouting, “You promised before that you’d take me for a drive~”
“Alright, alright, I’ll take my girlfriend for a drive~” Su Qiao didn’t refuse again. She remembered how An Jiaqin had asserted his dominance in the parking garage that night, mentioning that Chi Jue used to enjoy driving around in sports cars. It seemed that was true.
Switching to the driver’s seat, she finally had a reason to ask about their destination and fiddled with the navigation system. “Miss Chi, where are we heading next?”
“Tianci Hot Springs Resort.” Chi Jue took her phone to set the navigation, coaxing with a smile, “Dating, eating, and watching movies are so boring. Why not find a place not too far from the city? We can soak in the hot springs and enjoy good food. You’ll be able to relax properly.”
She playfully sought praise, hoping for a word of approval from the little bear.
“Soak in the hot springs?” Su Qiao’s usual schedule was quite busy. Apart from work, she spent her remaining time with her grandmother. Trips outside the city were almost always for work-related cases. In all her years, she had only been swimming a handful of times, let alone traveling for leisure or soaking in hot springs. “But I didn’t bring a swimsuit.”
Just as she expected the little bear to ask this, Chi Jue leaned close to her ear, exhaling warm, teasing breaths. “I specifically booked a suite with a private outdoor hot spring. What do you need a swimsuit for?”
Su Qiao shivered. Though the words sounded perfectly reasonable, the imagery they evoked was undeniably provocative, stirring a rush of heat within her.
Her throat felt dry as she swallowed, the stifling warmth spreading through her body, forcing her to tug at her high-neck sweater for some air.
“It seems you’ll need to eat well tonight,” she teased, starting the engine, already wishing she could blink and find herself holding Chi Jue in the suite, tumbling into bed.
During the half-hour drive, Su Qiao paid no attention to the scenery outside, her mind entirely occupied with thoughts of how to please the adorable woman napping beside her tonight.
Truth be told, she hadn’t fully come to terms with her own unrestrained passion.
Before meeting Chi Jue, her life had been a blank slate for thirty years. She had faced family upheavals and career setbacks, pouring all her energy into simply surviving. Love was a luxury for most people, and she was no exception.
Moreover, in all those years, no one had ever come along with the key to love, capable of unlocking her heart.
Her understanding of romance was still rooted in the TV dramas her grandmother watched, plots so clichéd you could guess the ending in the next scene. After seeing enough of those stories, she had lost much of her longing for such things.
To her, Chi Jue was like a sudden, mesmerizing illusion. At just the right moment, she would shed all her feigned indifference, using scorching, irresistible tactics to guide Su Qiao, step by step, on what to do next.
Since then, every time she varied her kisses, there was little skill to speak of, they were even chaotic and methodless, all driven by an instinctual desire.
Lost in her wandering thoughts, Su Qiao finally caught sight of the grand, opulent golden archway.
The Tianci Resort was a project strongly supported by the government. During its construction, half a mountain was blasted away, and the total area, including the lush greenery, was staggering.
Located less than an hour’s drive from the city, it offered both an escape from the hustle and bustle and a one-stop destination for entertainment and dining.
In summer, the main attraction is the water park, while in winter, it’s hot springs for relaxation and wellness, a perfect spot for short getaways for the residents of Zhouhai.
For no apparent reason, Su Qiao’s heart tightened. She couldn’t help but wonder if this spontaneous trip would come with a hefty price tag, and she mulled over how to bring up the topic of covering the expenses.
Chi Jue lazily propped her head up, her gaze not fixed on the scenery outside the window but on the delicate profile illuminated by the soft glow of dusk.
Even without shifting angles, she could always capture the exquisite details of Little Bear’s features, she never tired of looking.
She easily guessed what Su Qiao was thinking, for when the resort’s sign came into view, she caught a fleeting trace of unease on that calm face.
She hated that discomfort born of material constraints and tried to ease Little Bear’s worries. “This place is part of Gu Shinian’s business, and I have a stake in it. Coming here occasionally doesn’t really count as an expense. Just relax and stay the night without overthinking anything, okay?”
If you’re dreaming of effortlessly crossing class barriers, I suggest you do more daydreaming. An Jiaqin had, at some point, started appearing like a nightmare, always ready to slip in a few stinging remarks when least expected.
Su Qiao forced a dry laugh, unsure how to respond. She could only exclaim in a teasing tone, “I had no idea my girlfriend was this impressive! Did I stumble upon a treasure?”
As soon as Su Qiao parked the car, Chi Jue eagerly unbuckled her seatbelt, pulled her close, and ruffled her hair playfully. “Surprised? Big sister will take care of you from now on~”
“I don’t want to be your pampered pet!” Su Qiao played along with the joke but couldn’t shake the discomfort that came from the gap in their status.
“Hungry? Let’s check in first, then hit the buffet. Someone did say… they were going to eat their fill tonight~” Chi Jue chuckled as she got out of the car and retrieved their small packed luggage. “It’s more convenient to bring our own toiletries. When we have time, come shopping with me, I want to buy some of your things to keep at my place.”
“No need to go through all that trouble. I can just bring what I need from home,” Su Qiao instinctively thought of saving money, not wanting Chi Jue to spend on everything.
“No, I want us to have matching couple items, like pajamas, toiletries, bowls, chopsticks, cups, and… we should stock up on more underwear. You’re so wild, we never have enough!”
Branded as wild by her girlfriend, Su Qiao’s ears and neck flushed bright red.
Panicked, she glanced around, covered Chi Jue’s mouth, and pulled her close. “I… I’m not as wild as you say…”
Chi Jue laughed at her flustered reaction and decided to fan the flames, making their late-night intimate banter even hotter. “Oh, someone is even more so~”
“No, no, I’m really not!” Su Qiao snatched the luggage bag from her and stormed off with her head down.
“Look at you, getting all huffy when I praise your skills.”
Just as the two reached the entrance of the resort hotel, the manager, who had been waiting for some time, stepped forward with a smile to greet Chi Jue.
“Ms. Chi, it’s a rare pleasure to have you here for a vacation. I’ll personally assist you. Please follow me to the villa area.” With that, he took the luggage bag and hopped into a resort shuttle to act as their driver. “You can use this shuttle freely during your stay. The resort is quite large, so it’ll make getting around easier.”
