Dr. Chi’s Mission: Seduce Officer Su - Chapter 19
An inexplicable heat crept up Su Qiao’s spine, only to be trapped by the collar so tight it made breathing difficult. She tried to slow her breathing to ease her flustered state.
Unable to resist her curiosity, she lowered her gaze, her eyes settling on Chi Jue’s softly defined face. Beneath those thick, feathery lashes, her moist eyes sparkled with liveliness, while her slightly pursed lips held a faint, gentle smile.
But Dr. Chi was clearly an aloof person, how could she wear such a tender, affectionate expression?
Su Qiao didn’t dare stare for too long, afraid this perceptive woman would notice the fondness stirring in her heart. Her gaze reflexively snapped away as if scalded.
She turned her head and glanced around aimlessly, stammering, “It’s… it’s fine… if it’s crooked… just let it be…”
Chi Jue gently refused, “No.”
How could she not notice the “little bear’s” panic? She was deliberately refusing to let go, much like a devoted wife of many years adjusting her partner’s tie, her movements deft and practiced.
“There.” She patted Su Qiao’s firm chest, then stepped back to admire her handiwork, her eyes brimming with satisfaction.
“Thank you.” Whenever Su Qiao felt shy, she couldn’t help but touch the bridge of her nose, though it did little to hide her clumsy unease.
This naive “plush toy” was easily swayed by her emotions, yet she couldn’t resist Dr. Chi’s relentless teasing, after all, that stubbornness concealed a hint of mischief.
Chi Jue suggested, “Come, follow me back to my office.”
Su Qiao asked, puzzled, “Is something the matter?”
“Since you’re already here, why don’t we… do something proper?” Chi Jue raised an eyebrow. What kind of “proper” matter required such a tantalizing tone?
“D-do something proper?” Su Qiao felt stifled, her slender fingers tugging at the knot to loosen it, only to leave her tie crooked again.
“Then… what kind of ‘proper’ matter would you like me to do?” Chi Jue left behind an enigmatic, alluring smile and stepped out of the stairwell first.
That slender figure, vanishing from sight, seemed to burn itself into Su Qiao’s nerves, clouding her mind as she trailed after her like a fool. “Wait… wait for me.”
Chi Jue strode swiftly down the corridor, deliberately not giving Su Qiao a chance to catch up. She thoroughly enjoyed the sight of that silly “little bear” rushing after her without pause.
Su Qiao maintained a distance but never slowed her steps.
She craned her neck, watching the playful woman’s retreating figure as if they were engaged in a game of cat and mouse, how could she not find it amusing?
Soon, the two entered the office one after the other.
The moment the door closed, the noise outside was sealed away, leaving only the sound of their hurried breaths in the room, creating an atmosphere ripe for imagination.
Chi Jue suddenly turned around, nearly colliding with Su Qiao.
She tugged at the “little bear’s” sleeve and said, “Go sit down properly.”
Su Qiao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Dr. Chi had assumed her professional demeanor, her expression serious but her tone still light.
“Okay.” She obediently sat in the chair, hands resting on her knees, not moving a muscle. “So, what’s this ‘proper’ matter?”
Chi Jue didn’t answer. Instead, she stepped closer, standing right in front of Su Qiao, and pulled off her tie with a motion that was both domineering and subtly seductive.
By the time she started to unbutton her jacket, Su Qiao had long lost any semblance of a poised and upright police officer.
She shrank her neck away, shielding her chest with her hands like a bullied little wife. “You, you, you… don’t mess around! This isn’t right!”
“Do you think this is the Spider Web Cave and I’m the spider spirit trying to eat the Tang Monk? What do you mean, ‘not right’?” Chi Jue couldn’t hold back the tremor of laughter in her voice.
Su Qiao kept her arms crossed defensively, shaking her head vigorously in protest. “You’re already pulling at my clothes, and you won’t even let me struggle a little?”
This kid was just too adorable. Chi Jue couldn’t help but want to ruffle that silly head of hers.
She took a small box out of the drawer and showed it to the “little bear.”
“It’s to remove your stitches. What were you thinking?”
“I… you…” Su Qiao stiffened, instantly speechless. So, she’d been played for a fool all along.
She started grumbling indignantly, “You could’ve just said it was for removing the stitches! Even when you’re doing something proper, it sounds improper!”
Chi Jue stuffed the box into her arms and poked her forehead teasingly. “I wonder whose mind is in the gutter. Take off your clothes, hurry up.”
Though Su Qiao was utterly unwilling, the stitches had to come out. She slowly unbuttoned her shirt, revealing half a shoulder with a pitiful expression.
She muttered under her breath, “I wasn’t thinking anything.”
Chi Jue leaned against the desk, squinting as she examined the well-defined muscles of Su Qiao’s shoulder. She couldn’t help but inwardly marvel, Officer Su’s figure was truly mouthwatering. Just this small glimpse was enough to stir the imagination about the hidden scenery beneath the fabric.
How tantalizing it must be~
Su Qiao felt goosebumps under her gaze and cleared her throat lightly. “Ahem… go ahead. Do I need to pay an extra registration fee?”
Chi Jue put on her gloves and busied herself with disinfecting, her smiling lips brushing past Su Qiao’s ear like a spring breeze. “Only free for Officer Su.”
This blatant favoritism brewed a subtle flirtation in the silence.
Su Qiao tensed her back, not daring to turn her head. The beautiful woman leaned close, her neck slightly bent as she lingered by Su Qiao’s ear. Even her steady breathing felt like a deadly weapon of seduction.
Truth be told, Su Qiao had her own improper little fantasies. Their intimate posture was filled with ambiguous tension. All it would take was lifting an arm to hook that slender waist and pull the one she secretly adored into an embrace.
“All done. Congratulations, you’re fully healed.” Chi Jue’s swift movements broke Su Qiao’s daydream.
“Thanks for your help.” Su Qiao hurriedly buttoned her shirt, her method of tying the tie still reminiscent of how she’d tied a red scarf in childhood.
“Are you a kid? You don’t even know how to tie a tie.” Chi Jue laughed at her clumsiness, swatting her hands away to demonstrate properly. “Short end on the right, long on the left. Pull it snug, then thread it through like this, loop it around, and pull it back. This is the half-Windsor knot. Got it?”
Su Qiao nodded, her eyes fixed on those nimble, pale fingers, with no mind left for learning.
She grinned sheepishly. “Yeah, I’ve mastered it.”
“Silly.” Chi Jue teased her for not paying attention, but thought it didn’t matter if she never learned.
People need something to look forward to in the future. Perhaps in that future, she would tie a pretty tie for her “little bear” every morning.
…
“We’re here, this is the place.” Su Qiao checked her phone’s location and pointed at the hotpot restaurant’s sign ahead.
To wait for Dr. Chi to finish work, she had arrived half an hour later than the rest of the group.
She trusted Ji Nanxing’s choice, after all, their germaphobic, perfectionist team leader was notoriously picky about dining environments and flavors.
The hot pot restaurant was bustling with business, right in the middle of the dinner rush. The main seating area was already packed, the clamor of the lively crowd mingling with the bubbling of the pots and filling the entire space.
Chi Jue had changed back into her casual clothes, mostly dark-colored coats, and let down her tied-up ponytail, giving her a more relaxed and carefree look.
Perhaps to avoid getting separated in the crowd, she instinctively linked arms with Su Qiao. “It’s pretty crowded, the food must be good.”
“Do you like hot pot?” Su Qiao was gradually getting used to Dr. Chi’s spontaneous displays of affection, unconsciously slipping into some indescribable role.
She wanted to wrap her arm around that slender waist but chose to remain polite and proper, keeping her hand hovering just outside the thick coat.
Chi Jue, ever attentive to detail, could sense her overly formal posture. Seeing through it without pointing it out was a form of respect, at the very least, she appreciated this gentlemanly, boundary-conscious behavior.
“I wouldn’t say I like it, but occasionally I enjoy this kind of lively atmosphere,” Chi Jue replied somewhat formally, which could also be interpreted as her willingness to accompany Officer Su if she liked it.
The two chatted and laughed as they entered the private room, immediately drawing everyone’s attention.
Liu Jiaqi tapped his small plate with his chopsticks, stirring up trouble. “Latecomers have to drink three glasses as punishment!”
Everyone had the good sense to leave two seats open for them.
Su Qiao pulled out a chair for Chi Jue and waved her hand with a smile, politely declining. “Dr. Chi has surgeries to perform, she can’t drink.”
“But Captain Su can drink! It’s rare for Captain Ji to allow us a little alcohol,” Liu Jiaqi said, already opening a bottle of beer.
“You know I can’t hold my liquor,” Su Qiao replied, taking her seat and glancing at Ji Nanxing for help.
“Have some soy milk, it helps with the spiciness,” Ji Nanxing interjected, smoothly pouring drinks for the two of them and defusing the situation. “It’s rare for me to treat everyone. Eat as much as you want today, you’ve all worked hard on the cases lately.”
Chi Jue’s attention shifted to the person beside Ji Nanxing. A faint smile curled at the corners of her lips, concealing her surprise, and her gaze lingered with deep meaning.
Gu Shinian’s beauty was entirely different from Chi Jue’s, her aura always carried a hint of mischief, yet her sly smile was just as inscrutable.
Leaning slightly to the side, Gu Shinian met the gaze directed at her, adjusted her frameless glasses on the bridge of her nose, and offered a cold smile that held layers of unspoken meaning.
Su Qiao assumed Chi Jue was staring out of curiosity at an unfamiliar face.
She made the introductions. “This is President Gu, the head of a third-party criminal investigation technology agency. We work closely together… President Gu, this is Dr. Chi.”
Gu Shinian swirled her teacup, the liquid sloshing gently inside. She raised her cup slightly toward Chi Jue in a gesture of respect. “I’ve heard it was Dr. Chi who saved Cheng Can. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
The remark made Chi Jue raise an eyebrow, her smile ambiguous. “President Gu, hello.”
Su Qiao and Ji Nanxing exchanged glances, both sensing an inexplicably strange atmosphere brewing between the two.
Liu Jiaqi couldn’t wait any longer, picking up a piece of tripe with his chopsticks. “The pot’s boiling, let’s eat!”
Li Mobo cheekily snatched the tripe from him. “Are you a starving ghost or something? All you think about is eating! Let’s toast first.”
“Right, we should have a toast.” Ji Nanxing raised his glass and spoke up: “Welcome back to the team, Su Qiao. We were tied up with the case before and didn’t have time to properly welcome you. Let’s make up for it now with a good drink.”
“Our Captain Ji always has the grand vision, how could we have forgotten this!” Liu Jiaqi chimed in, raising his glass in agreement.
As everyone lifted their cups, only Ao Yu remained focused on cooking his mutton in the hot pot, until Wen Ling discreetly nudged him under the table.
Chi Jue sensed something was off; it seemed this meal wasn’t as lively and relaxed as she had imagined.
After clinking glasses with Ji Nanxing, Su Qiao downed her drink in one go. “Let’s eat, everyone must be hungry,” she said, naturally hoping the subtle tension wouldn’t lead Dr. Chi to overthink things.
