Did My Wife Break Up With Me Today? - Chapter 79
Chapter 79: *
Chen Kongqing regretted it.
Well, more than just “some.”
He regretted it a lot.
Xu Jingmo did indeed go to take a shower, but he didn’t leave Chen Kongqing behind. The bathroom in the rental apartment was tiny, and with two people squeezed in, the space felt nonexistent.
“I… you, you go first. How can two people wash together?” The steam rose continuously, clouding Chen Kongqing’s vision. That misty, sweltering sensation made his head start to spin almost immediately.
With one arm, Xu Jingmo hooked Chen Kongqing back just as he was trying to make a tactical retreat. Pressing against the rabbit from behind, his large hands slid under the already sodden clothes: “You’re soaked through. If you go out now, you’ll catch a cold.”
As he spoke, Chen Kongqing felt his shirt being tugged upward. Simultaneously, a hand reached around to the front of the rabbit’s soft chest.
Chen Kongqing began to tremble all over. He was held like that, forced to turn his head to endure a long, long kiss. His neck felt like it was going to cramp.
“Mph…” Chen Kongqing felt his legs giving out, instinctively reaching up to cling to the man’s neck. Finally, his lips were released. The rabbit gasped for fresh air.
Before he could take more than a few breaths, he was pressed against the glass door of the shower. In a position of absolute subjugation, he was held firmly against the cool glass. His clothes had been pushed up to his chest, and as he leaned weakly against the glass, he felt a sudden chill on his lower half.
“You… wait… wait.” He started to stammer. “I’ll do it myself… mm…”
The end of his sentence trailed off into an involuntary upward lilt, carrying a slight quiver—and a hint of… sweetness. He hadn’t expected to make such a sound and immediately bit the back of his hand to keep himself quiet.
The man behind him leaned in, chuckling as he kissed the rabbit’s flushing nape. “Why are you biting your hand, baby?”
Chen Kongqing: “…”
“Cry out if you want to. I like hearing it.” Xu Jingmo licked the shell of Chen Kongqing’s ear. It was hot, itchy, and wet. At the same time, Chen Kongqing felt as though he were being [censored].
He bit his hand harder, his legs turning to jelly as he started to slide toward the floor. A second before he collapsed, his waist was circled and lifted. His eyes reddened again, and physiological tears began to fall. “Ugh… waah…”
“It’ll be over soon, baby,” Xu Jingmo said comfortingly, his voice tender even as his actions remained unyieldingly firm. He tilted Chen Kongqing’s face back and kissed him again.
…
Chen Kongqing was carried out of the bathroom. His physical strength was entirely spent, yet he cooperatively kept his legs spread very wide.
The rabbit’s face was scarlet. He looked at the bare Xu Jingmo with pure, sincere eyes. “Is this okay? Do I need to be [censored] a bit more?”
Xu Jingmo’s brow twitched at the question. “No need.”
The man wasn’t in a hurry. Instead, he reached out and grasped the rabbit’s left ankle. Chen Kongqing’s ankles were thin, and his skin was delicate—like holding a piece of soft tofu. However, a protruding scar marred the smooth skin there.
Xu Jingmo knelt by the bed, holding the ankle and slowly lifting it. He cradled the slender, pale calf against his chest and pressed his lips to the scar. “Does it hurt?”
Chen Kongqing shuddered, throwing his head back and clutching the sheets. Xu Jingmo’s kiss was light, but for some reason, it felt like an electric shock. It was different from any kiss they’d shared. His heart trembled along with his body. “It doesn’t hurt… it stopped hurting a long time ago.”
Xu Jingmo seemed not to hear. His phoenix eyes remained fixed on the scar, his thumb stroking it gently. Chen Kongqing could see the raw distress and pity in those eyes; one would think he had suffered a mortal wound.
“Really, it’s fine. It doesn’t hurt at all,” Chen Kongqing emphasized, moving his ankle. Seeing the scar brought back more memories. “Actually, it’s good that I remembered. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have known that the person I’ve always loved… was you.”
“It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t left, you wouldn’t have suffered so much. Your leg wouldn’t have been hurt.” Xu Jingmo kissed the scar again.
“You can’t think like that… at least we’re together now, right?” Chen Kongqing shifted his left foot and bit his lip. “You… stop kissing it. Hurry up…”
Xu Jingmo, still holding the thin white ankle, arched an eyebrow. “Hurry up and what?”
Chen Kongqing bit his lower lip, his red eyes looking down piteously, though he didn’t know where to direct his gaze. “Hurry up and let go… I’m going to get a cramp…”
“Okay.” Xu Jingmo chuckled and finally released the ankle. He reached out, grabbed the carrot plushie sitting nearby, and tucked it under Chen Kongqing’s waist. “This will be more comfortable.”
Chen Kongqing cooperatively lifted his lower body. The soft carrot pressed against his skin. Feeling embarrassed, he used his arm to shield his eyes.
It was then that Xu Jingmo reached for the items he had bought earlier on the nightstand. Soon, Chen Kongqing’s hands were forced above his head, and he was met with Xu Jingmo’s deep, intense gaze—a gaze dripping with hormones. Then, [censored] was tightly grasped and stretched open. “Baby, why are you so beautiful?”
Chen Kongqing flushed and looked away again. As he did, he saw Black Cat Sheriff sitting at the edge of the bed, tail swishing. The cat’s copper-colored eyes stared wisely at the two people on the bed, its gaze mixed with a hint of curiosity, as if saying: “Humans, is it fashionable to not wear clothes now?”
Chen Kongqing cried out, “You… hurry and put the cat in its carrier!”
In that same instant, the rabbit suddenly lost his voice. It felt like a walnut being snapped in two.
…
The rabbit “ate” very hard. His hair was soaked with sweat, sticking to his forehead in damp clumps. The black cat, of course, was not put in a carrier; it eventually hopped onto the bed, pacing back and forth in front of them.
Midway through, Chen Kongqing was sobbing heavily, his vision shaking… shaking constantly. His whole world felt like it was crumbling.
Seeing this, Black Cat Sheriff went on “patrol,” swiping its claws twice at Xu Jingmo’s arm as if trying to break up a fight. “Meow-wu!” It seemed to say: “Stop fighting! Talk it out!”
But it was clearly useless. The guy who was constantly “hitting” his dad didn’t even spare the cat a glance. Indignant, Sheriff pushed him with a paw. Still no reaction. The cat let out a series of loud, stern meows, which mingled with Chen Kongqing’s soft sobs.
Chen Kongqing closed his eyes tight, wanting to flee, but he was essentially pinned to the pillow, unable to move at all.
“Xu Jingmo…” he whimpered, feeling like he was about to pass out.
“Mm?” Xu Jingmo flipped him over, [censored] him from behind. “Good boy, lower your waist a bit.”
Chen Kongqing was trembling everywhere, but he cooperatively did as he was told. That was his last conscious memory. He wasn’t actually that weak; it was just that he hadn’t slept the night before and wasn’t in top form today…
Wait… but Xu Jingmo hadn’t slept all night either; he’d been crouching by the door the whole time…
Chen Kongqing was truly puzzled by this. They had started during the day, yet when he woke again, a bright moon had risen outside. But why… why was Xu Jingmo still [censored]…
The man held him tightly from the side, his lips brushing against a neck already covered in marks. “Awake?”
Chen Kongqing let out a few ragged breaths, his voice hoarse: “What time is it?”
“I don’t know.” Xu Jingmo buried his face in the boy’s nape.
Chen Kongqing: “…” The sound of the duvet rustling filled his ears.
“Are you really thirty?” Chen Kongqing suddenly asked very seriously.
Xu Jingmo: “…” [Censored]
Chen Kongqing hadn’t recovered yet, his cheeks so red they looked ready to bleed. Xu Jingmo lowered his voice, speaking almost in a breathy whisper: “I’m twenty-eight this year, not thirty yet. Xiao Man, you can’t round up.”
Chen Kongqing couldn’t process the words anymore. He couldn’t think. He tried to push Xu Jingmo away, but he lacked the strength. So, he turned his head back into the pillow and let out two pathetic sobs.
[Censored]
It was a very long night. Chen Kongqing didn’t know how long he slept; he was in a daze the whole time. Sometime in the late night, he seemed to be held and fed some water. The lukewarm liquid trickled down his parched throat, finally bringing some relief.
When he woke again, the morning light was streaming through the window. The sheets had been changed at some point, and he had been dressed in clean pajamas. The spot beside him in bed was cold. It seemed Xu Jingmo had been gone for a while.
Chen Kongqing felt a wave of disappointment, his heart feeling empty. And a bit of anger. On a morning like this, how could Xu Jingmo leave first? The rabbit puffed out his cheeks, huffing as he buried his head back under the covers.
At that moment, the old door creaked. Chen Kongqing poked his head back out.
Xu Jingmo, fully dressed and carrying two bags of breakfast, walked over. “Awake? Come eat. I got the red bean buns you like.”
So he had just gone to get breakfast. Chen Kongqing wiggled under the covers, but the movement made every muscle in his body ache. He bit his lip, hissing through his teeth.
Xu Jingmo set the breakfast down and walked to the bedside, gently peeling back the duvet. “Get up and eat.”
Under the covers, the rabbit’s cheeks were still tinged with pink, his eyes watery. His exposed neck was covered in hickeys, one after another. Chen Kongqing licked his lips. Truthfully, he hadn’t eaten all of yesterday—he had either been [censored] or sleeping. He should have been starving.
But he didn’t feel hungry at all. Instead, he felt very “full.” Not a full stomach, but a full belly.
Chen Kongqing muttered: “Don’t want to eat… I’m very full.”
Hearing this, Xu Jingmo raised an eyebrow and teased: “Fed you enough yesterday, did I?”
