Deliberate Possession [Entertainment Industry] - Chapter 96
Chapter 96: Shower and Sleep
She pressed her ear against the door, listening to the movement inside. Suddenly, “Bang!” The door was slammed from the inside, startling her ear. Jiang Yumian covered her ear and quickly backed away.
She knocked on the door, her tone weak and wheedling: “Older Sister, please open the door.”
The person inside was silent.
Jiang Yumian looked back at the stairs. No one. She licked her lips, imitating how Jing Xiaoyan used to do it, and spoke through the crack of the door: “Wife, please open the door~”
The person inside hesitated for two seconds before reacting. Jiang Yumian soon heard a “click.” Her eyes lit up. She quickly put her hand on the doorknob and slowly pushed the door open.
Jing Xiaoyan stood with her arms crossed, looking at her expressionlessly for two seconds. Meeting her eyes, which were full of guilt and eagerness to please, she reached out and dragged her directly back into the room.
Allowing herself to be dragged, Jiang Yumian was about to speak when she was rudely pushed onto the bed.
Falling onto the bed, Jiang Yumian swallowed hard. She propped herself up and sat up. Before Jing Xiaoyan could speak, she immediately reached out and wrapped her arms around her waist. “That, that was an accident…”
Jing Xiaoyan pushed her head, and with her other hand, she tried to pry open the arms hugging her, clearly showing that she was angry.
Jiang Yumian certainly didn’t dare to let go. She hugged her tighter, rubbing her head against her. “Oh! I didn’t mean it that way, really~”
The tone of her voice was sickeningly sweet.
Jing Xiaoyan was moved. The force she was using to push her dissipated. Her hand rested on her head, but she was still prying her arms.
Hmm… not coaxed that quickly.
Seeing Jing Xiaoyan remain silent, Jiang Yumian bit her lip, brewed for two seconds, closed her eyes, and said, “Wife, I was wrong.”
Seeing her sincere attitude in admitting her mistake, Jing Xiaoyan withdrew her hand, crossed her arms, and softly scoffed.
Jiang Yumian’s face, pressed against her lower abdomen, quietly lifted, trying to see Jing Xiaoyan’s expression, but she couldn’t see it.
She tugged at Jing Xiaoyan’s clothes. “Forgive me~”
Jing Xiaoyan scoffed again.
Jiang Yumian gave a strong pull, pulling Jing Xiaoyan to sit on her legs, hugging her and leaning in to kiss her face.
“I’ll agree to whatever you want next time, okay?” Jiang Yumian tightened her arms around Jing Xiaoyan’s waist, looking at her with wide, pleading eyes.
Jing Xiaoyan turned her head to look at her. Her lips were quickly kissed. She slightly raised an eyebrow. “Not next time. Right now.”
Jiang Yumian was startled, opening her mouth with some uncertainty. “But it’s time to eat now.”
The person on her didn’t speak. She propped herself up on her shoulders. Jiang Yumian watched the direction she walked towards, her eyelids twitching.
Jing Xiaoyan found the collar from yesterday on the bedside table, holding it and shaking it. A crisp sound quickly echoed in the room.
She turned around, her gaze unkind.
“Put it on. No taking it off.”
Hearing her undeniable tone, Jiang Yumian licked her lips, somewhat resistant, and repeated, “But we have to go eat now…”
Jing Xiaoyan walked closer to her, reaching out to lift her chin. “We’re not doing anything. I’m just asking you to put it on. It’s just an accessory.”
With that, she was about to put it around Jiang Yumian’s neck.
Jiang Yumian’s eyes widened. She quickly grabbed Jing Xiaoyan’s hand, disbelieving. “You want me to wear it outside?”
The fingers pinching her chin tightened. Jing Xiaoyan nodded. “Mhm. You said it was pretty.”
She then raised an eyebrow. “Do you have an objection?”
Jiang Yumian was so choked up she could barely speak. “Th-that, I, I can’t.”
The person in front of her eyes darkened, staring intently at her.
Jiang Yumian quickly became anxious. “It’s just, I’m not refusing to wear it. It’s just that wearing this out might make people think too much, and Mom didn’t see me wearing it when she saw me just now. I’m afraid if I suddenly wear it now, Mom will laugh at us when she sees it.”
Jing Xiaoyan pursed her lips, a little annoyed, but what Jiang Yumian said was right. This was indeed a bit suggestive, mainly because of the bell.
The atmosphere suddenly froze. Jiang Yumian felt bitter inside. She looked up at Jing Xiaoyan, grabbing the hem of her clothes with both hands, taking a soft breath and giving in. “Older Sister~ Can I wear it for you when we come back tonight?”
Jing Xiaoyan’s eyes slightly narrowed. She slightly frowned, clearly dissatisfied with the title.
Jiang Yumian reacted quickly. She bit her tongue and shyly called out, “Wife~”
Jing Xiaoyan’s expression relaxed. She released Jiang Yumian’s chin, tossing the white fluffy collar onto the bed.
Just when Jiang Yumian thought she was being magnanimous and letting her off, she turned and walked away again.
Jing Xiaoyan glanced around the room, walked to the packaging bag Jiang Yumian had casually thrown, and found the choker she had tried to put on her in the car.
“Wear this one. It’s black and goes well with your black knit sweater.”
Jing Xiaoyan hooked Jiang Yumian’s chin again, lowered her head, and was about to put it on her.
Jiang Yumian closed her eyes. Refusing again would really make it impossible to coax her. Fortunately, what she said was also quite right. It did go well with her distressed knit sweater.
However, it was a loose turtleneck, so even if she wore it, it would be somewhat covered. Even if her mother saw it, she would probably think she was covering up hickeys, and definitely wouldn’t think of it the wrong way.
Resigned, Jiang Yumian obediently watched Jing Xiaoyan. Only after she finished putting it on did she speak. She pouted, “Are you satisfied now?”
Jing Xiaoyan scoffed and nodded, pointing to the collar she had just thrown down. “Wear that one when we come back tonight.”
Jiang Yumian’s mouth twitched, feeling a little wronged. “How long do I have to wear it…”
She couldn’t wear it all the time…
Jing Xiaoyan stroked her neck, staring at her with interest, then patted Jiang Yumian’s head. “It depends on my mood. Let’s go, wife. It’s time to eat.”
Jiang Yumian followed her, holding her hand, unable to show her anger, and went downstairs together.
Her mother and aunt were already seated, waiting for them, and just smiled when they saw them come down.
Her mother didn’t ask much and greeted them to sit down. “Hurry up and eat. I have something to tell you.”
Jiang Yumian covered her neck. “What is it?”
Her mother glanced at her and said directly, “Your self-made project, your aunt will be doing it with you. It will be more convenient with her. It’ll keep her busy at home.”
Jiang Yumian was stunned. She blinked and looked at her aunt. She did need extra hands. “But doesn’t Auntie have a company abroad?”
She had always known this. Her mother had given her the company after she went abroad, to support her and protect her from being bullied after marriage, and also to keep her from being idle and just wanting to play.
After all these years, the company had grown and was not to be underestimated, so her aunt’s capabilities were very strong. Letting her join her project seemed a bit like overkill.
Her aunt waved her hand. “It’s fine. I’ve found someone to take over. I’m focusing on you now. Cultivating my little CEO Jiang is more important.”
The main thing was that it was easy, and she could go out. Only a fool would refuse. Moreover, she had played enough abroad and was tired of it. Home was better.
Her mother scoffed, then continued speaking to Jiang Yumian. “Your aunt will be going on this business trip with you.”
Jiang Yumian nodded blankly. “Actually, Auntie can rest for a while longer. I’m just going to do some research.”
Her aunt shook her head vigorously. “I’m going! I’m going!”
Her mother smiled and immediately exposed her. “Your aunt owes a love debt, and someone is coming for her in a couple of days. She’s waiting to run away with you.”
Jiang Yumian smelled a hint of gossip. Her aunt just returned to the country and already got into trouble? Did she even leave the house?
She opened her mouth and asked directly, “Who is it? Do I know them?”
Jing Xiaoyan, who was focused on eating, also secretly looked up at her aunt. She was now calling her aunt too. She was also curious.
Her aunt looked speechless, avoiding their gazes, and lowered her head to eat.
Her mother cleared her throat. “You know them, of course you do. Your manager, An Zhiying.”
Jiang Yumian’s eyes widened. She was so shocked she choked on the air, coughing with her hand over her mouth. She looked at her aunt in disbelief.
A few seconds later, she lowered her head and started counting on her fingers, one by one.
Jing Xiaoyan quietly asked her, “What are you doing?”
Jiang Yumian looked serious. “I’m counting the age difference.”
She was twenty-five, Sister An was ten years older than her, and her aunt was forty-one.
There was only a six-year difference between her aunt and Sister An.
Huh?
Calculated this way, it didn’t seem so strange anymore.
Sister An and her aunt…
Jiang Yumian’s face wrinkled. She suddenly looked up, staring at her aunt with a complicated expression. “Auntie, that ‘dead straight girl’ Sister An mentioned couldn’t be you, could it? Did you two know each other in college?”
Her aunt’s face was almost buried in her bowl. She quietly asked, “She called me a dead straight girl?”
Jiang Yumian swallowed. “Yeah…”
Sister An had taken her artist to another city after her red carpet event and wasn’t here, otherwise, she would definitely go to her for gossip.
Her mother cleared her throat, interrupting. “You can gossip later. I’m not done talking yet.”
Then, her mother’s gaze fell on Jing Xiaoyan. Jing Xiaoyan, who hadn’t felt involved until now, suddenly tensed up.
“It just so happens that Xiaoyan has terminated her contract with her previous company. She doesn’t need to sign with a new company. Our family’s entertainment company has been transferred to Xiaoyan’s name. Manager An is now the company manager and will manage the company with Xiaoyan.”
Jing Xiaoyan completely froze. She quietly said, “Mom, I don’t know how…”
She only knew how to act. How could she manage a company?
Jiang Yumian pinched her face. Her and her aunt, Jing Xiaoyan and Sister An… Oh my god…
Her mother glanced at the three people at the table. “You can learn. You know more about the entertainment industry. Your manager also came to our company. Oh, and your team too, they’ve all been poached.”
Jing Xiaoyan closed her mouth. Her right-hand man and her team were here, and Jiang Yumian’s manager was also here. What reason did she have to refuse?
She reluctantly nodded. “Okay.”
Even if she didn’t know how, her Mianmian did. She would learn slowly.
Jiang Yumian chewed the rice in her mouth. In the time it took to eat a meal, her mother arranged everything for the three of them…
“Mom, what about you?”
Her mother raised an eyebrow. “Me? I’m responsible for checking your results. I’ve set goals for all three of you. The year is almost over. I want to see your results by this time next year.”
The three people at the table were stunned.
Jiang Yumian’s mouth twitched. “Who exploits their daughter and daughter-in-law like that…”
Jing Xiaoyan’s eyes lit up. She turned to look at Jiang Yumian, then quickly heard her add, “And little sister.”
Jing Xiaoyan’s lips curled into a smile. She put a piece of pork chop on Jiang Yumian’s plate, signaling her to accept her fate.
Before her mother could say anything, her aunt spoke first. “It’s you and your wife who are being exploited. I’m pretty relaxed. Don’t include me. My sister is very good to me.”
Jiang Yumian: “…”
When did her aunt become so flattering? She felt like she had been sold out.
“Does Auntie have any grievances with Manager An?” Jing Xiaoyan suddenly asked, catching her aunt off guard. She continued to ask, “Did Auntie perhaps owe a love debt?”
Jiang Yumian looked touched. Her wife was still loyal and sided with her.
Her aunt laughed dryly. “How could that be… I, cough, let’s eat, let’s eat.”
Jiang Yumian gloated, quietly reminding her, “Auntie, let me tell you, Sister An holds a lot of resentment. She hasn’t forgotten all these years. Every year, she brings up that straight girl, reminding me to keep my eyes peeled so I don’t get fooled.”
Her aunt: “…”
After the meal, none of them felt particularly relaxed.
Especially Jing Xiaoyan. She finally started seriously looking at her phone, patiently replying to messages.
After two days of neglecting her work, she had a lot of things to deal with now. Aside from putting the collar on Jiang Yumian at night, she didn’t mess with her much. However, when she was annoyed, she would tug at the chain around her neck.
Like now.
Jiang Yumian took her eyes off the computer, twitching her lips as she looked at the person pulling her. She obediently leaned over to kiss her. Only after the kiss calmed her down did she let go.
She asked very gently, “What’s wrong now?”
Jing Xiaoyan sighed softly. She had finished reading the company’s artist profiles, and some things were so bad she couldn’t even bother to complain.
“The artists the company signed aren’t very good. Too many issues. It’s time-consuming and annoying.”
Jiang Yumian leaned in and hugged her, smiling. “So Mom was right to say you can take over the company. You’ve probably already figured out how to solve the problems, but it’s just troublesome, which is why you’re annoyed, right?”
Being praised like this, Jing Xiaoyan felt much better. The chain in her hand shook, causing the bell to ring a few times.
Jiang Yumian’s face flushed intensely. She reached out and grabbed the chain, biting her lip and whispering, “Stop playing…”
Jing Xiaoyan glanced at her computer, reaching out to close it for her.
“Time to shower and sleep.”
