Deliberate Possession [Entertainment Industry] - Chapter 9
Chapter 9: The Interaction
Perhaps it was because the other person had just gotten out of the shower, but she smelled so nice and soft. The delicate scent of the body wash enveloped the still-dazed Jiang Yumian and lingered at her nose.
The sound of the door closing brought Jiang Yumian back to her senses, but her nerves immediately shot up. Every fiber of her being tensed. Was Jing Xiaoyan teasing her?
Jiang Yumian tried to pull back, but the arms holding her were tight. She couldn’t back away or push her off, so she just awkwardly tried to explain, “Ahem, I just happened to see it yesterday and thought it was funny, so I took a picture. I wasn’t trying to hug you…”
“I know. I saw it all.”
Her last half-sentence was unceremoniously interrupted by Jing Xiaoyan.
Jiang Yumian’s eyelid twitched. That voice… it was so familiar.
Jing Xiaoyan lowered her eyes slightly. She was a little taller than Jiang Yumian, but not by much, about the height of a fist. It was just right to hold someone against her. She rested her chin on Jiang Yumian’s shoulder, and the hand on the back of her head deliberately applied a little pressure, making Jiang Yumian’s face rest against her neck.
This “seduction” was too intimate. Jing Xiaoyan didn’t dare to hold her for long, just pretending it was a teasing hug.
Her heart was full of bitterness. She’s my girlfriend, but I still have to pretend.
She had lured her over using her other identity, and at this point, there was no chance of coming clean.
Jiang Yumian was quickly released. She was met with the smiling face of the woman in front of her, and her heart relaxed. She returned a polite smile.
Perhaps it was the “voice” that had put a filter on Jing Xiaoyan for her. The way she spoke to her unconsciously softened.
“I didn’t know it was you when I went out yesterday. If I had, I wouldn’t have… ahem, I wouldn’t have gone out alone. We could have had a meal together.”
Jiang Yumian’s tone was relaxed and polite. What she really wanted to say was that if she’d known, she wouldn’t have mistaken her for a human trafficker. It was pretty scary.
Meeting Jing Xiaoyan’s smiling eyes, Jiang Yumian was a little dazed. She felt like this person was very easy to talk to. My good sister was right, after all.
“I didn’t know it was you either, but I had a suspicion. So I watched you when you were taking the photo. I only saw the hot search and realized you were hugging ‘me’ in the photo.”
Jing Xiaoyan looked at the person in front of her, who was blushing a little, and deliberately brought up the hot search again.
Jiang Yumian was embarrassed but insisted, “It was your sign.”
Jing Xiaoyan looked down and casually pulled the collar of her robe together. She said unhurriedly, “So, if you want to hug me, just hug the real me.”
Jiang Yumian forced her eyes away from Jing Xiaoyan’s delicate collarbone and laughed awkwardly. “Thanks…”
That’s really not necessary.
She was incredibly embarrassed. When will this be over?
A hand suddenly touched her cheek, and Jiang Yumian’s breath hitched.
The soft palm rested on her face. A finger brushed against the skin behind her ear, and the warmth of the palm heated her skin. Jiang Yumian’s throat tightened. She suddenly remembered what her friend, who had filmed a kissing scene, had told her: it feels amazing when you’re touched there during a kiss!
Jing Xiaoyan’s voice, full of laughter, rang out again, terribly gentle. “You can hug me whenever you want. I like you so much, I won’t mind.”
Jiang Yumian took a small step back. Her heart was pounding. She felt like she was being flirted with, and it was a very aggressive kind of flirtation.
She swallowed and politely clarified, “Thanks, I like you a lot, too.”
The hand on her face finally retreated. The person in front of her acted as if nothing had happened and casually complimented her, “Your skin is so nice.”
As if to explain why she had just touched her.
Jiang Yumian let out a sigh of relief. She had almost been swayed. She has a sister!
Jing Xiaoyan actually wanted to touch her girlfriend again, but she felt she had already overstepped, so she held back.
She then pulled her collar together again and said casually, “Come in and have a seat. I just got out of the shower, and I’m not wearing a bra yet. You’ll have to wait for me.”
Jiang Yumian’s eyelid twitched. Do you really have to tell me that?
Her eyes unintentionally glanced at Jing Xiaoyan’s chest. No wonder it was so soft!
She resisted the urge to raise a hand to her forehead and nodded. She looked inside and saw that Jing Xiaoyan wasn’t going to leave yet. She quickly changed the subject. “Is your assistant not here?”
Jing Xiaoyan smiled. “She went back to the company this morning. She’ll be back the day after tomorrow.”
Seeing that Jing Xiaoyan was finally turning to go inside, Jiang Yumian followed behind her.
Jing Xiaoyan pointed to the sofa, motioning for her to sit, then went back to her own room.
The moment the door closed, she let out a huge breath. She pulled at her collar and looked inside. This was the first time she had ever done something like this.
She didn’t believe that even after being this “naughty,” Jiang Yumian would still call her cute.
Now she shouldn’t be thinking of being my mom, right? My persona should have completely collapsed. After all, no daughter treats her mom this way…
Outside the room, Jiang Yumian was thinking. Her perception of Jing Xiaoyan had already changed. She’s so good at flirting. If she showed this side, she would be a total goddess in the lesbian circle.
She touched her slightly flushed ears, her voice low. “Damn, straight girls have so many tricks.”
No wonder Sister An said straight girls have a fatal attraction. She was right!
She held her phone and thought for a moment. She felt guilty, so she didn’t tell her good sister about this. She got hugged and touched. No way am I telling her that…
The door clicked open, and Jing Xiaoyan came out. She was still wearing the bathrobe, the collar casually pulled together, with glimpses of the fabric underneath.
Jiang Yumian glanced at it and quickly looked away.
Black.
She took a small breath. She had thought Jing Xiaoyan would at least change her clothes, but she had been wrong. Jing Xiaoyan didn’t care about these things at all.
Jing Xiaoyan sat down next to her, her eyes subtly scanning the phone in Jiang Yumian’s hand. Then she reached for an orange on the coffee table.
“The water isn’t very good to drink. I’ll peel an orange for you.”
She peeled it herself and explained why she hadn’t offered Jiang Yumian water.
Jiang Yumian didn’t mind the water, but now she was embarrassed that Jing Xiaoyan was peeling an orange for her. “I can do it myself.”
Jing Xiaoyan nodded but still said, “It’s fine. I remember you like to eat them.”
Jiang Yumian froze for a moment.
She had posted on Weibo that she liked oranges. Her fans knew, but she didn’t expect Jing Xiaoyan to remember. She must have specifically looked at my posts.
By the time she had processed it, the orange was peeled. The sweet scent of oranges filled the air. Jiang Yumian’s thoughts drifted. Wait, we’re in the same presidential suite, so why don’t I have any oranges in my room?!
Jing Xiaoyan put a slice in her own mouth, then handed one to Jiang Yumian. “Here. It’s not sour.”
“Thank you.”
Jiang Yumian took it hesitantly. This is too thoughtful, too attentive. Wuwuwu, is this how all straight girls are?
Jing Xiaoyan had no idea what she was thinking. She was just happy that she ate the orange she had peeled for her.
“My manager said not to worry about the Weibo thing. It’s a good way to preheat the show since it’s about to start filming.”
Jiang Yumian hummed softly. “I’m okay with it.”
Even though her achievements in the entertainment industry weren’t as high as Jing Xiaoyan’s, her fans weren’t flaming her for trying to get attention from her. She was even more popular last year than this.
Not to mention, Jing Xiaoyan’s fans and her own fans were friendly. The comments were harmonious, and her trend toward becoming a comedian was becoming more and more obvious.
Jing Xiaoyan smiled, picking up her phone. “But we should still post something on Weibo to respond to the fans.”
Jing Xiaoyan’s finger slid across her phone. She first opened WeChat and was a little surprised. She thought Jiang Yumian had messaged her, but she hadn’t.
She was a little disappointed, but that feeling quickly disappeared when she remembered the person was sitting right next to her.
Jiang Yumian was a little confused. “Respond to what?”
Jing Xiaoyan opened Weibo, not answering her question, and just said, “Look at Weibo and interact with me.”
Jiang Yumian opened Weibo with a puzzled expression and quickly saw Jing Xiaoyan’s new post.
She was dumbfounded.
Jing Xiaoyan V: Now I have my hug [laughing.jpg]
How could she possibly interact with that!
What if her good sister saw it?!
Jiang Yumian let out an awkward laugh and quickly opened WeChat. She didn’t care if it was right or wrong. She had to comfort her sister first.
Sponge Has a Baby: “Sister, don’t misunderstand the Weibo post. She was the one who hugged me.”
Sponge Has a Baby: “It was just for fun, so don’t be jealous!”
Jiang Yumian’s heart was racing. She slightly turned her body so Jing Xiaoyan couldn’t see her phone. She guessed that out of politeness, she wouldn’t peek, so she didn’t try too hard to hide it and kept typing.
She didn’t notice that the person next to her was looking at her phone, the smile on her lips growing wider. Her calm composure was a stark contrast to Jiang Yumian’s panic.
Seeing that she wasn’t replying, Jiang Yumian’s heart pounded.
Sponge Has a Baby: “Okay, it’s normal for you to be jealous, but don’t get the wrong idea!”
Jing Xiaoyan slightly reined in her smile, pretending to be sad as she replied.
First Love Sister: “Hmm, I am a little sour.”
Jiang Yumian bit her lip. I knew it!
Glancing at Jiang Yumian’s expression, Jing Xiaoyan’s heart softened. She continued to reply.
First Love Sister: “I’m a little sour, but I understand. I won’t get the wrong idea.”
First Love Sister: “It looks like you’re getting along well. You should probably reply to her Weibo. You planned to post together, right?”
Jiang Yumian was touched by her good sister’s thoughtfulness and also impressed by how smart she was. She knew everything.
Sponge Has a Baby: “Mm-hmm, I’ll reply now. Don’t be mad, Sister.”
First Love Sister: “Go ahead. I won’t be.”
“You don’t have to reply if you’re not comfortable. I posted that to prevent anyone from coming to mess with you on the day of the live show, since you didn’t know I was behind you.”
Jing Xiaoyan’s voice suddenly rang out next to her. Jiang Yumian guiltily pulled her phone back and quickly explained, “Of course I’ll reply. I was just busy for a second.”
Jiang Yumian V: This time, I’m hugging the real @Jing Xiaoyan~
Jing Xiaoyan smiled and liked her post. Then she calmly switched pages, opened WeChat, and checked the results of her earlier performance.
First Love Sister: “You’re not nervous anymore, right? What’s she like?”
Sponge Has a Baby: “Don’t even get me started. I’m still nervous. I found out she’s a straight girl.”
Jing Xiaoyan: “…”
