Daily Life of a Married Beta Heartthrob - Chapter 4
Zhao Jinyuan breathed rapidly, her gaze drifting downward to the porcelain-white nape of her neck, specifically to the single red, swollen bump there.
A patch of skin the size of a fingernail held a tiny bead of glistening sweat, which rose and fell slowly with Gu Ying’s breathing.
That was the omega’s gland.
Zhao Jinyuan waved her arms in a flustered panic, “Gu Ying, h-how much pressure should I use?” Her heart beat louder and louder; she was just too nervous.
An omega’s gland was an extremely private area, rumored to be fragile and sensitive. One had to be careful when touching it, lest the omega pass out.
But Gu Ying didn’t give her much time to think, pressing a hand against the back of her head to push her down.
With her nose and lips stained by a faint smear of moisture, Zhao Jinyuan grew quiet.
She kissed Gu Ying’s neck.
The temperature was different from usual—hot—and it made her own body grow warm in turn.
“You dummy, just don’t bite me until I bleed,” Gu Ying’s hoarse voice murmured into Zhao Jinyuan’s ear.
Zhao Jinyuan took a deep breath. She thought she knew what level of force to use now.
“Gu Ying, I’ll take you to the bed.” As she spoke, Zhao Jinyuan wrapped her arms around Gu Ying’s waist, intending to lift her up just like that.
Gu Ying’s breathing grew heavier. She pushed Zhao Jinyuan away, stepped out, and walked slowly toward the bed.
Zhao Jinyuan followed at a little trot, her face bright red. Gu Ying was so much taller than her that she couldn’t really lift her; she had overestimated her own strength.
Gu Ying didn’t look back at Zhao Jinyuan. She reached out her fingers to undo the buttons of her pajama top. The fabric slipped down to the crooks of her elbows, exposing shoulders with sharp lines yet flushed with a faint redness, blooming with a vivid, glistening color under the dim, soft light.
She tilted her head slightly, looking at Zhao Jinyuan from the corner of her eye. Her thin lips parted, whispering only one word: “Come.”
Zhao Jinyuan was so bewitched she felt dizzy. With unsteady steps, she approached Gu Ying in a daze, “Gu Ying, I’m going to start now, tell me if it hurts.”
Gu Ying let out a soft “mm.”
Hearing this, Zhao Jinyuan stopped hesitating. She had heard that an omega’s heat was agonizing.
Leaning close to the red, swollen gland, her breath washing over the area, Zhao Jinyuan reached out and licked it with the tip of her tongue.
The sweat tasted salty.
The soft, warm, and damp sensation brushed against the gland, and Gu Ying’s perception was infinitely magnified.
Feverish pheromones began to surge wildly through her blood vessels. A tingling sensation spread from the back of her neck to every limb, shooting up her spine to the top of her skull, stirring her consciousness until it became chaotic and blurred.
Gu Ying clenched her fingers into fists, her body falling helplessly onto the bed. “Continue.”
Zhao Jinyuan climbed onto the bed, straddling Gu Ying’s back with her legs parted, and leaned down to bite at the gland.
A soft, muffled groan escaped Gu Ying, as if she couldn’t suppress it any longer. It was laden with the unavoidable tremors of her heat, mixed with short, quick gasps of air. It echoed gently in the quiet space, making the surrounding air feel increasingly scorching and thick.
Zhao Jinyuan’s entire face burned bright red, even the tips of her ears stained a boiling crimson; Gu Ying’s panting was just too seductive.
In this situation, she felt like she could finally accept Gu Ying “doing” her.
She wanted to see Gu Ying’s expression. What kind of expression could elicit such a seductive sound?
It was hard to tell how much time had passed when the gasping finally ceased, and Gu Ying’s body wasn’t quite as hot anymore. Zhao Jinyuan gave the gland one last light bite, then let go. She leaned close to Gu Ying’s ear and whispered, “Gu Ying, do you want to do me?”
“I want you to do me now.” After saying it, Zhao Jinyuan buried her face in Gu Ying’s back. So shameful—she couldn’t believe she had actually said such things.
One second, two seconds… Zhao Jinyuan waited, but Gu Ying didn’t answer.
Fluttering her long lashes, Zhao Jinyuan sat up and turned Gu Ying over, only to see her eyes closed tight, breathing steadily. Her previously flushed face had returned to a deathly pale.
So she had fallen asleep.
Zhao Jinyuan exhaled, somewhat relieved that Gu Ying was asleep and hadn’t heard the words she had just spoken.
She would never say such shameful things again.
With a flushed face, Zhao Jinyuan’s eyes darted about as she helped Gu Ying slowly button up her pajamas.
When her fingertips reached the buttons at the belly, watching that area of taut skin, Zhao Jinyuan finally couldn’t help herself. She lowered her head and, with a heart full of bashfulness, planted a light, fleeting kiss on Gu Ying’s soft lower abdomen.
The moment that kiss landed, Zhao Jinyuan quickly jerked her head up, her gaze scanning around in a panic. Her earlobes were red enough to drip blood. Her guilty and flustered appearance was just like a thief who had done something naughty and was terrified of being caught.
She had kissed Gu Ying’s stomach while she was asleep.
And she had bitten Gu Ying’s gland today.
Hehe, she was so happy.
Zhao Jinyuan curled her lips, her face full of smiles.
She lowered her eyes to look at Gu Ying’s abdomen again, intending to finish buttoning up, but a bright cyan-green color appeared in her peripheral vision.
Zhao Jinyuan paused, muttering to herself, “Didn’t I wash it clean? Why is there something green?”
She only saw a tiny bit of green; the rest was covered by Gu Ying’s pajama pants, hidden away in the triangular zone.
After watching for a while, Zhao Jinyuan ultimately just finished buttoning the pajamas.
That area was too private; she decided she shouldn’t look.
In the blink of an eye, Zhao Jinyuan pushed the matter to the back of her mind. Happily, she climbed off the bed, went to the bathroom to get a clean, damp towel, and wiped Gu Ying’s face and neck, not even skipping her fingertips.
Once she was done, Zhao Jinyuan turned on the nightlight. Holding Gu Ying’s hand, she crawled into her arms and pressed her cheek against Gu Ying’s heart, whispering, “Goodnight, wifey.”
As she spoke, Zhao Jinyuan lifted her head to kiss Gu Ying’s chin, then tucked her head back down and rubbed gently against Gu Ying’s chest. “Hehe, I’m so happy.”
Gu Ying had entered her heat, so, naturally, Zhao Jinyuan called Fang Bai to ask for leave.
At six in the morning, Fang Bai was woken up by Zhao Jinyuan’s call.
Listening to the joyful tone in Zhao Jinyuan’s voice on the other end of the line, Fang Bai couldn’t help but laugh. “Looks like you two made up.”
Zhao Jinyuan held the phone, excitedly telling Fang Bai about the person from yesterday.
“She is Gu Ying’s ex-wife. I don’t know why she wanted to help me with advice, but it really worked.”
Just as Zhao Jinyuan was speaking, she suddenly heard the voice of another woman coming from Fang Bai’s side.
A quick spin of her brain told her exactly what Fang Bai had been up to last night.
Unlike her, who had remained single, Fang Bai had been with others for a long time.
And she changed partners every once in a while.
Zhao Jinyuan’s voice lowered, as if she were whispering a secret: “Fang Bai, watch yourself, don’t just ‘do it’ like that.” Fang Bai was an alpha; although her appearance and personality were more like an omega, according to the personality test report, Fang Bai was a genuine alpha. And alphas could get people pregnant.
“Zhao Jinyuan.” Gu Ying’s raspy voice suddenly exploded in her ear. Zhao Jinyuan was startled, hurriedly hung up the phone, and looked up in the direction of the voice.
Gu Ying was standing right in front of her.
Zhao Jinyuan tilted her chin up, curving her bright phoenix eyes, her eye corners rippling with a sweet smile, her voice clear and sweet. “Gu Ying, you’re awake.” She hoped Gu Ying hadn’t heard her mention the ex-wife just now.
Gu Ying pinched the bridge of her nose. The fragility from last night was long gone, leaving only her usual indifference.
“Mm.”
Gu Ying had always been a woman of few words. Zhao Jinyuan never let Gu Ying’s coldness bother her. She rose from the sofa and went to stand before Gu Ying, reaching out to hug her. Zhao Jinyuan asked, “Gu Ying, are you feeling better?” She would always take the initiative to start the conversation.
Gu Ying was held, her body stalling slightly. Her voice was clear and calm, lacking any extra emotion, responding only briefly: “A little better.”
Zhao Jinyuan didn’t mind Gu Ying’s distance. She lifted her face slightly, her eyebrows and eyes curving into soft arcs, like a clingy and docile little cat, rubbing her tiny nose gently against Gu Ying’s chin. “I was just asking Fang Bai for leave; I want to stay with you the whole time you’re in heat.”
Gu Ying held Zhao Jinyuan’s head and pushed her away. “No need. I’ll go buy new suppressants.”
Zhao Jinyuan felt a bit disappointed. She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but Gu Ying’s next words made it impossible for her to speak.
“Betas cannot release pheromones to alleviate my heat.”
Zhao Jinyuan pursed her lips and buried her face in the crook of Gu Ying’s neck, saying muffledly, “I’ll take you to buy them.” Although Gu Ying was stating a fact, it felt so heartbreaking, as if she were useless.
Gu Ying didn’t refuse Zhao Jinyuan’s proposal. “Alright.”
In a blink, Zhao Jinyuan grew happy again. She could go shopping with Gu Ying. She lifted her face again, the disappointment swept away, her eyes shining brightly at Gu Ying. “Gu Ying, can I call you ‘wifey’ when we’re outside?”
Gu Ying lowered her eyes to meet Zhao Jinyuan’s gaze. The air was quiet for a moment. After a long while, Gu Ying nodded slightly.
Zhao Jinyuan was obsessed with calling her “wifey.” She knew that in this society, “wifey” meant “wife.” But she wasn’t a native modern person, and “wifey” just made her feel like she was addressing an old woman.
So, on their wedding night, she had warned Zhao Jinyuan not to call her that.
But if she refused, Zhao Jinyuan would just go back to crying and clinging to her.
It was just too annoying.
Zhao Jinyuan couldn’t read anything from Gu Ying’s cold, indifferent face; she only knew that Gu Ying had agreed to the title. But she still had something she wanted to do.
So Zhao Jinyuan asked again: “Then, can we wear matching couple outfits?”
Gu Ying: “…Yes.”
Zhao Jinyuan instantly wore a brilliant smile. She hugged Gu Ying, stood on her tiptoes, and kissed her lips, exclaiming happily, “Yay!”
The soft, tender touch lasted only a second before pulling away. Gu Ying’s brows furrowed imperceptibly. “Did you brush your teeth?”
Zhao Jinyuan opened her mouth wide, saying vaguely, “I did.”
Gu Ying let out a soft “mm,” raised her hand to press against the back of Zhao Jinyuan’s head, and leaned down to kiss her.
With her nose wrapped in Gu Ying’s faint scent, the soft and forceful touch pressed down upon her. Zhao Jinyuan’s eyes widened suddenly, realizing belatedly that Gu Ying was kissing her again.
Her long lashes fluttered uncontrollably, her brain went completely blank, and she even forgot the rhythm of her own breathing.
Zhao Jinyuan felt her body going weak. Subconsciously, she gripped the corner of Gu Ying’s clothes, her cheeks staining with a crimson flush at a speed visible to the naked eye, spreading from her cheeks to her earlobes.
I like it.
After the kiss, Zhao Jinyuan was completely hanging onto Gu Ying, her face red as she whispered in Gu Ying’s ear: “Wifey, you kissing me feels so good.” Intertwining their tongues made her body feel all tingly and numb. “I like it so much.”
