- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 9 - Boyfriend
When Wang Xinghe opened his eyes, the morning light was already spilling into the room through the gaps in the curtains.
His whole body ached. The indulgence of the previous night seemed to have taken its toll. Everything was sore.
The person next to him was already gone.
Wang Xinghe leaned against the headboard and let out a deep sigh.
He was filled with regret and confusion. I must have been out of my mind. What on earth happened last night?
How am I supposed to handle this now?
Am I really going to come out and be with a man?
To him, that seemed like an insurmountable obstacle.
Wang Xinghe picked up his phone. The screen showed the 27th of the twelfth lunar month.
The Spring Festival was getting closer. He had originally planned to spend the holiday alone, as he had in previous years. He would drink some beer, stay up all night, and cry secretly to let out his emotions.
But now, everything had changed.
Tap-tap-tap… Footsteps echoed on the stairs.
Wang Xinghe’s heart raced. He quickly burrowed back into the quilt, pretending to be fast asleep.
His tipsiness had completely worn off, but he wasn’t ready to face Lu Jingze.
He could feel the chill of winter and the scent of the same shower gel he used, both carried by Lu Jingze, stimulating his senses.
He felt Lu Jingze gently pull the quilt up to cover him.
Then came a rustling sound, and the sound of wrapping paper being torn.
Then Lu Jingze came around to the other side of the bed.
Suddenly, Wang Xinghe felt a chill from that side.
He couldn’t pretend to be asleep any longer. He bolted upright and looked directly at Lu Jingze. “You…”
There was a white ointment on Lu Jingze’s fingers; he hadn’t finished applying it.
His phoenix eyes and the corners of his mouth curved into a smile. “Morning, Brother Xinghe~”
“You…” Wang Xinghe could feel something cold and soothing on a certain part of his body. He glanced at the ointment in Lu Jingze’s hand.
A wave of shame and embarrassment washed over him.
“I’ll do it myself.”
He tried to grab the ointment, but Lu Jingze held him down with one hand, leaning over him and pinning his hips.
“Don’t be shy, brother. You need to get used to it,” Lu Jingze’s voice was teasing, but his eyes showed genuine care.
Wang Xinghe lay on the bed helplessly, closing his eyes and clenching his jaw.
Lu Jingze’s movements were unusually slow. His fingers gently rubbed Wang Xinghe’s skin, as if he were performing a complicated massage ritual.
The feeling of his fingertips on his skin made Wang Xinghe’s body incredibly stiff with shame.
“Are you done yet?” Wang Xinghe asked, his Adam’s apple bobbing. His voice was a little hoarse from shouting so much last night.
“This needs a massage to heal faster. Just bear with it a little longer, brother.” Lu Jingze focused on his work, his hands not stopping for a moment.
Wang Xinghe looked at his skilled movements and remembered that he didn’t seem like a beginner last night at all.
He couldn’t help but close his eyes and mock himself a little. “Why did you lie about it being your first time just to trick me?”
“Amnesia isn’t an excuse to act like a virgin.”
Lu Jingze stopped, using a wipe from the bedside table to clean his fingers and nails.
Then he carefully pulled the quilt up for Wang Xinghe.
He took off his own jacket and shoes and, with a smug smile, slipped into the quilt, wrapping his arms around Wang Xinghe from behind.
“Brother, are you complimenting me on my skills? Was it good?”
Wang Xinghe’s face turned red up to his ears. He retorted, “When did I ever compliment you on that?!”
Lu Jingze only chose to hear what he wanted to. “Brother, do you want to watch some of those videos?”
“Watch one, and you’ll know who I learned from.”
Wang Xinghe felt that his conversation with Lu Jingze was completely off-track.
He decided to close his eyes and mouth, responding with silence.
But Lu Jingze didn’t give up. His lips lightly kissed Wang Xinghe’s earlobe, then his neck.
Wang Xinghe felt a tingling tickle. He tried to shrink his neck and get away, but Lu Jingze pulled him back.
Lu Jingze buried his face in the crook of Wang Xinghe’s neck and whispered, “Brother Xinghe, you’re so soft and you smell so good. I really like you so much.”
Wang Xinghe’s long eyelashes, facing away from him, curled up slightly. His swollen lips pursed.
In the end, he didn’t know how to respond to Lu Jingze’s words.
The two held each other like that for a long time, until Lu Jingze’s stomach rumbled twice.
Wang Xinghe grabbed the arm holding him and broke free. “I’ll go make breakfast.”
His clothes from last night had been stripped off. As he sat up, his back looked long and pale, his shoulder blades and the small of his back clearly defined.
Because his skin was so fair, the red marks left by Lu Jingze were especially visible.
Lu Jingze watched with a smile.
After Wang Xinghe put on his clothes, he also got out of bed and followed him downstairs.
Wang Xinghe kneaded the dough, and Lu Jingze washed the vegetables.
Wang Xinghe cleaned up, and Lu Jingze helped.
Two bowls of steaming noodles were ready in no time.
There was no beef this morning, but he added ham and a fried egg.
Because of what had happened, Wang Xinghe was not as at ease as Lu Jingze.
He quietly ate his noodles, still filled with regret.
But he knew better than anyone that there was no such thing as a “do-over” in this world.
It was done. He had to face it.
“Later, let’s go to the supermarket and buy some things for the holiday,” Wang Xinghe thought. He couldn’t not celebrate just because he didn’t feel like it. He couldn’t let Lu Jingze miss out.
Lu Jingze’s phoenix eyes lit up, his gaze shifting. “Okay.”
The ingredients, including fireworks and firecrackers, filled the trunk and the back seat.
There was even some clutter on the floor of the passenger seat.
Lu Jingze’s long legs had no place to rest, and he was now squeezed into a ball like a quail.
Wang Xinghe looked at him, feeling a small sense of vengeful pleasure.
That’s what you get for bullying me last night. ╭(╯^╰)╮.
Wang Xinghe’s mouth was curled up in a smile; he seemed to be in a good mood.
Seeing him smile all the way, Lu Jingze’s mood also lifted.
On the 28th of the twelfth lunar month, they cleaned the entire shop, both upstairs and downstairs.
On the 29th, Wang Xinghe gave him 3,000 yuan in cash, calling it his salary.
Lu Jingze bought two matching red sweaters and secretly hid them in the closet.
In the afternoon, they put up Spring Festival couplets and hung red lanterns together.
The holiday atmosphere was thick in the air.
On Chinese New Year’s Eve, the sound of firecrackers went off nonstop from early in the morning.
Although fireworks and firecrackers were banned in Qingcheng’s city center, no one in the countryside cared.
Bang-bang-bang—
Amidst the sound of firecrackers, Wang Xinghe and Lu Jingze were busy making New Year’s Eve dinner in the kitchen.
After the dinner was all prepared, Wang Xinghe turned on the TV on the first floor.
The Spring Festival Gala had already begun.
“Happy New Year, Brother Xinghe~” Lu Jingze held up the red sweater in front of him.
Wang Xinghe looked at the red sweater in his hand in surprise. “When did you buy this?”
“Don’t worry about it so much. Put it on. It’s more festive.” Wang Xinghe took the slightly smaller sweater, took off his black hoodie, and put on the red sweater Lu Jingze had bought.
Lu Jingze also changed into the larger red sweater.
Both sweaters had a red heart on the left side of the chest.
“Cheers. Happy New Year.” Wang Xinghe looked at the six dishes on the table.
Lu Jingze’s glass cup clinked against his.
“Happy New Year, Brother Xinghe.”
Bang—
A firework exploded outside.
Lu Jingze leaned in and lightly kissed his cheek. Perhaps because the festive atmosphere was so strong.
Wang Xinghe’s eyes were misty as he looked at him. He asked very seriously, “Aze, what are we now?”
“Bed partners? A couple? Or something else?”
The question was sincere, and Lu Jingze was an expert at reading people’s minds through their eyes.
At this moment, he saw Wang Xinghe’s vulnerability and didn’t know how to answer him for a moment.
Bed partners? That was his original plan.
But if he said “bed partners,” with Wang Xinghe’s personality, he would probably cut ties with him in the next second.
He would definitely not let their relationship continue.
Perhaps because Wang Xinghe’s tea-colored eyes were showing too much vulnerability at that moment.
The normally unscrupulous Lu Jingze pulled a small piece of conscience from a corner of his heart.
He curled his lips into a smile. “Of course we’re in a relationship. Brother, you don’t want to be responsible for me, do you?”
“Hm? You’re my boyfriend.”
